Whoa! I had the pleasure of narrating this audiobook - and it was an absolute blast. It brings echoes of Lecter/Graham, Sherlock/Moriarty and other great cat and mouse who-dun-its. I can't to dive into the rest of the series! FIVE STARS

A Murder of Crowes is a psychological thriller that gets under your skin slowly and deliberately and that's exactly the point. This isn't a book that rushes. It's the kind of story that builds dread the way a good storm builds on the horizon: methodically, patiently, until you realize you're already in the middle of it.
Dr. Eli Crowe is one of the more compelling protagonists I've come across in this genre. A forensic expert who has dedicated his life to decoding violent minds, he is a man who believes understanding equals control until a new case begins mirroring the murder of his own mother, and that belief starts to crack. Watching his professional certainty erode as personal trauma resurfaces is handled with real psychological nuance.
What sets this book apart from your average serial killer thriller is the emotional architecture beneath the plot. Michael Paul Patrick is himself an ICU survivor, someone who spent weeks in intensive care following a near-fatal accident and that lived experience of confronting mortality and fragility seeps into the writing in ways that feel genuine rather than performed. Eli's grief doesn't feel like a backstory device; it feels like a wound. Kirkus Reviews
The pacing is slow-burn by design, so readers wanting a fast, action-heavy thriller may need patience. But for those who love dark, morally complex procedurals this is deeply rewarding. The series builds into a cat-and-mouse thriller about control, complicity, and the thin line between observation and participation, and Book 1 lays that foundation with care. Amazon
A standout debut trilogy opener. Highly recommended.

This book was different than my normal read, but I AM IN LOVE. This is a great thriller like criminal minds / law and order ( which I love). A serial killer is on the loose killing teachers, and Eli Crowe is called in to help. The ending was so unexpected, and I had to jump right into book 2.

The writing is phenomenal, and you get lost in the story. I can't wait to continue in this trilogy!!

OMG… THAT ENDING!!! 😱🖤🐦

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: A Murder of Crowes by Michael P. Patrick

OMG… THAT ENDING!!! 😱🖤🐦

I went into A Murder of Crowes expecting a dark, suspenseful read, but I was not prepared for the emotional rollercoaster Michael P. Patrick had waiting for me. The atmosphere was eerie, the mystery kept me hooked, and every chapter pulled me deeper into the story.

The characters felt real, flawed, and compelling, making every twist hit that much harder. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, the story took another turn and left me questioning everything.

And then… THAT ENDING.

Ughhhhhhhhhhh! 😭 I need answers. I need more. I need someone to talk to about what just happened because really Michael really.

If you love dark mysteries, suspense, unexpected twists, and books that stay in your head long after you finish the last page, add A Murder of Crowes to your TBR immediately.
