His book 'I Have Sinned' was shortlisted for the Kindle Storyteller Award 2019. Previously, his debut novel 'A Man With One of Those Faces' was nominated for best novel at the 2017 CAP awards.

Mr M writes well up to his usual standard, despite his continuing contempt for the whole mathematical concept of trilogies. Bunny is involved with shenanigans, survives the convoluted mind of the inimitable Deccie, and is involved with a complicated case which, in all honesty, didn't leave me "guessing until the last page" - but that was mainly because the big reveal comes about 50 pages before the end. It's a cracking and amusing read (I mean, have you *met* Deccie?) and something I started and finished in one day - so if you start this book don't make any rash promises about doing something later. We're promised more, so watch this space for more trilogy abuse...

The Prequel We've Been Waiting For
Back to the past with Bunny and Butch. Set some 26 years back in the general narrative, this book has all the usual suspects but could well be a stand-alone, so new readers can jump right in. As always, it's full of horrendous happenings and high good humour and, as always, I guarantee you'll enjoy it. No plot details to spoil your fun except to say that Deccie's public speaking abilities are in full flow. Buy it. Read it. Enjoy.

Another homerun
Though not as hilarious as others in the Dublin Trilogy this may be the best of the bunch; I've read every one of them. It's a great story about the return of a stone cold killer from the dead and what ensues are characters only McDonnell could create in a mystery wrapped up in a legend. There are plenty of laugh out loud passages but this is a great mystery too

3.5 stars. The gangland/police story is quite good but the “banter” sessions by Bunny (as well as the saga of the Halloween bonfire) go on for too long.

Fantastic read
Review of advance copy
The pre-order audiobook released a few days early, and I was absolutely giddy. It is, as always, everything I wanted it to be except longer.
No New Tinas or Ford Cortinas but a truly fabulous Henry VIII subplot I would someday like a bonus story showing.
