Echoes from Eternity by Norelle (Desiree) Smith is a gutwrenching and raw account of the aftermath of spousal suicide. This book dives deep into the initial shock and emotional roller-coaster that is grief. While at times this memior felt repetitive, its overall message is moving and raises awareness for suicide prevention. Dave's story was an all too familiar one ( as someone who has lost a family member to suicide). If you are looking for a book that will make you stop and think about life and your choices this is the one.

I give my full condolences to the author for her loss. It takes a lot to be this vulnerable and open so thank you for sharing your story and including the real and uncomfortable parts that many people do not talk about.

My only issues:

At first I found it hard to get into due to inconsistent tenses. It switches back and forth between present and past tense for the first couple chapters. (At the end of the book I realized this was because it included mainly journal entries, and was a stylistic choice )

Additionally, this could be triggering for some readers because of the very specific details. Please use caution and read when you are in the right headspace.

Thank you to the author for providing me with an advanced reader copy for a honest review.
