As a single mom, I’ve had my fair share of dates with guys who are all wrong for me. But there’s no one more wrong for me than Sam Shaw. My dad’s best friend.
I love my life, but some days, I wish I had a partner. One to share all of life’s ups and downs. But after too many losers on dating apps, I should give up.
Until Sam swoops in and rescues me.
I know I shouldn’t be attracted to him, but I can’t help it.
And when he looks at me the way he does, I know he returns the feelings.
Until it all comes to a head. One time and we can’t get enough of each other. Being with him is dangerous. No one can know.
Being with my dad’s best friend is too complicated. I should break things off. Find someone easier.
But when he treats me—and my son—like we’re treasured?

Huge thanks to Samantha from The Smuthood, and the author Emily Silver for sharing this ARC with me!
Unfortunately, I have to DNF at 22%, but the reason for it shouldn’t be a biggie to many people. It’s just my personal preference…
I applied for this arc because I do love age gap trope and I try to read single mom tropes as much as I can as well! I tried to ignore the dead wife trope, especially after finding out it’s been maaaaaany years since his wife died, but the line has been crossed when his friends call him a womaniser, and he admits it’s been a decade since he had his fair share of women. And I really really do not want to read about dead wife+reformed manwhore combo, just no.
The MMC annoyed me a lot as well when he said that he needs to get the FMC out of his system by registering on some dating app early on, and nothing annoys me that much as men saying shit like that 🤡 do you really want to believe me you want the FMC if your first thought is to look for some other woman to get the fmc out of your system? Like really???
On the plus side, the writing was nice, I can’t complain. I also liked the FMC so she’s not the reason for me dnfing the book at all. Go girl!
" What do you want sam?" "I thought it was obvious. You"
"No time with you will ever be a waste Joey"
📖ARC Review 📖 4 ⭐️ Spice 🌶️🌶️ UGH I ate this up! I love sam and joey relationship so much! I do wish they came out in the open earlier or at least joey should've told the girls but I love the way that sam accepted joey and max! I also loved that we got cameos of kade, Presley and poppy. Now onto Georgia's story!!!
Tropes: * Dad's Best Friend * Single Mum * Age Gap * Forbidden * Small town * Cowboy
Tropes: Dad’s best friend • Age Gap • Cowboy • Single Mom • Small Town • Forbidden Romance.
First the dedications is *chefs kiss* “To everyone that loves a good forbidden romance…. Enjoy Sam Shaw”
I absolutely loved Sam when we first met him in Fight for Us. He’s such a sweet, hardworking guy, so by the end of that book, when there were hints about something happening between him and Joey, I already knew I was going to be all in. And I was right — their story was hot, emotional, and so good.
Joey and Sam have instant chemistry, but Joey tries to ignore her attraction and even goes on a date with a guy from a dating app. When she gets stood up and Sam is the one who finds her, I loved how protective and reassuring he is. Joey is already feeling low, and Sam is so quick to remind her that the guy was an idiot for passing up the chance to be with her. It was such a sweet moment and one that made me love him even more.
Joey is also a single mom to Max, who is the sweetest little boy. She lives in a garage apartment at her parents’ house, which works well because it gives her some extra support with Max when she needs it. Joey and Sam both work at the Lost Spur Ranch — Joey at the front desk and Sam as the head ranch hand handling the horses and trail rides — so they’re around each other constantly, which only makes the tension between them even better. I loved their relationship right from the start. The attraction is immediate, the chemistry is off the charts, and once things finally start happening between them… wow. The spice was absolutely there, but what really sold me was how good they were together emotionally too. I’m always a sucker for a forbidden romance, and the dad’s best friend angle worked so well here. Sam’s friendship with Joey’s dad Greg adds an extra layer of tension, especially when Greg and the other guys start asking questions about Sam’s love life.
I also really liked how the secret relationship eventually comes out and how everything is handled afterward. There’s definitely some heartbreak, but it never felt overly dramatic, and I still had that feeling the whole time that these two were meant to find their way through it. Overall, this was such a fun, swoony, and steamy romance. Sam completely lived up to the expectations I had for him after Fight for Us, and I loved seeing Joey get a story that balanced great chemistry, emotional moments, and a genuinely sweet family dynamic with Max. If you love small-town romance, forbidden relationships, protective heroes, and a good amount of spice, this one is definitely worth picking up.
I absolutely loved the first book in the Pinecrest, Montana Series so my exceptions for Book 2 were high. The book didn’t exceed my expectations but they were met, I’ll say that much. I liked Anything For You, is it my favorite book I've ever read, no, but is it a book I would recommend to people absolutely, I hope that made sense
Full Disclosure: I'm not the biggest fan of Dad's Best Friend Age Gap Romances but this particular one I enjoyed reading so tip of the cap to you Emily!
This is a beautifully written, small-town romance, which I'll read those any and every day of the week, just saying. Joey, who is the FMC is a fiery, strong single mom to Max. She's in her mid-twenties, works on the ranch, and has a wonderful support system
Sam Shaw is a very protective, caring, patient, and sweet man, who had me smiling a lot during this story. He tries to resist his best friend's daughter but when he finally gives in, you knew that was it because their connection is something that cannot be ignored
Joey is such a good mom and Sam fits right into their dynamic so well. He's good to and for Joey and how he steps up to be a father figure for Max melted my heart. It's a fun and interesting family dynamic especially when you throw Joey's dad in the mix
Sam is Joey's dad best friend and we all know he wouldn't approve of their relationship, which is why it starts out as a secret that's filled with stolen moments and sizzling encounters. Once Greg (Joey's dad) finds out the truth he loses his mind but understandably so, and things escalate to the point where Sam and Joey "break up".
Max ends up in the hospital, Joey's freaking out for more than one reason, Sam gives her a ride to the hospital, he stays with her even though he dad doesn't want him there, can't say I don't blame him. Everyone finally speaks how they feel and her dad gets on board with Sam dating his daughter. Greg did say it would take some getting used to it but that's to be excepted.
The ups and downs, twists and turns, this story ends with Sam, Joey, and Max along with their family and friends getting to be happy together and enjoy their lives!
If you love dad's best friend, age gap, small-town, single mom, close family, just to name few tropes from this book then you need to go read this ASAP!
Thank you to Samantha at Smuthood and the author, Emily Silver for the ARC!

“What’s so wrong about wanting a life with the person you love?”
I'm a city girl through and through but sign me up for a hot cowboy who calls me darlin' any day of the week! Yes, sir!!
Joey is my favorite kind of FMC, one who is unapologetically herself. She's a shameless flirt, especially with Sam, but all she really wants is a partner in life, someone to love and care for her. And she finds that person in Sam, her father's best friend.
Flirting is dangerous, pushing every boundary, but Sam and Joey are so magnetically drawn to each other. I loved how Sam was there to rescue Joey when she needed it most and the way she managed to rattle him. How they were open and vulnerable with each other, in so deep that they seemed destined for heartbreak.
Stolen moments and secret kisses increased the tension and chaos, soul-deep longing that was begging for them to be together. I loved how Sam showed up for Joey and for her young son, Max, how he put both of them first without question. And, oh my goodness, that sweet little boy warmed my heart and stole every single scene he was a part of.
I loved how Joey stood up to her dad about her relationship with Sam. I only wish that Sam would have fought harder for Joey, or maybe show some kind of grand gesture, but I have no doubt how much he loved her. I also would have liked more character and plot development since this story seemed a little rushed at times, surface level instead of really exploring all the layers hidden underneath.
The bonus scene was so sweet and wholesome, bringing a smile to my face, fitting perfectly with this story and offering a glimpse at another couple from earlier in the series. Joey had an amazing and supportive girl group and that only made the story better. Plus, the epilogue has me ready for book three! I just know Georgia is going to be my spirit sister!
“I don’t need anything else. With you? I have it all.”

✨️Single Mom ✨️Dad's Best Friend ✨️Age Gap ✨️Forbidden ✨️Small Town Romance ✨️Cowboy
*Special thanks to author Emily Silver for this ARC!
I really, REALLY wanted to like this cowboy romance because it had all the ingredients I usually fall for: a single mom trying to rebuild, her dad’s best friend who’s been in her orbit forever, and a slow burn. I was ready for longing, tension, and that moment where everything finally snaps into place.
But it didn’t feel like that at all for me. There was a disconnect between the chemistry you feel between Joey and Sam. Like why all of sudden now is he interested. Sure, she’s always thought he was attractive. But the forced proximity felt too forced and not natural. It’s like they work together so they all of a sudden they have these feelings for one another.
Joey is 25, working the front desk and raising her four‑year‑old son Max. Sam Shaw is her dad’s best friend; he’s older, widowed, steady, running the stables and done solo raising his adult daughter Lennox. Their connection should’ve been messy and magnetic. And in some ways, it was but it also lacked depth. You get these little pockets of the past but it’s only surface level.
Joey flirts, pushes, tests the boundary line over and over until Sam finally caves. She’s reaching for something, for affection, stability, someone who won’t leave when things get hard. She wants unconditional love, and you can feel that ache under everything she does. She doesn’t want to be alone.
But Sam hardly meets her there. Sam doesn’t fight for her out loud. He doesn’t claim her, doesn’t step into the tension he helped create. He cares for her and Max and those moments are genuinely sweet but it feels like caretaking, not commitment.
And Joey… she’s frustrating. Not in a layered, “she’s working through her stuff” way but more in a way that made it hard to stay on her side. Her longing is real, but her choices don’t always deepen her character.
By the end, the dynamic felt lopsided: Joey reaching, Sam retreating, and the slow burn never turning into anything solid. The ranch setting is cozy and the found‑family potential is right there, but the romance itself never steps into the emotional space I had hoped it would. No grovel, or grand gesture in the end.
A huge thank you to Emily Silver & Smuthood PR for the early copy!
A cute premise with soft moments, but I needed more fire, more clarity, and a hero who actually shows up.
I'll be honest, age gap romances, especially ones with a 20-year difference, can be really hit or miss for me. They either feel completely natural or they leave me questioning everything. Thankfully, Emily Silver absolutely nailed it.
Anything for You was so much more than an age gap romance. It was a story about finding love when you've almost convinced yourself it isn't meant for you, learning to trust again, and discovering that sometimes the right person has been standing in front of you all along.
Sam Shaw completely stole my heart. He wasn't just protective of the woman he loved. He showed up for her in every way that mattered. Watching him care for both her and her son without hesitation was everything. There is just something about a man who loves a child as if they're his own that gets me every single time, and Sam delivered that in the sweetest way possible.
I also loved that the age gap never became the entire story. Yes, it created complications, but it never defined their relationship. Instead, the focus stayed on the connection between them, the trust they built, and the way they made each other's lives better. Their chemistry was undeniable from the beginning, but it was the emotional connection that completely sold me.
The forbidden aspect of dating her dad's best friend added just the right amount of tension without feeling overdramatic. Every stolen moment had me smiling, and I couldn't help rooting for them to figure out a way to make it work.
Emily Silver has such a talent for writing emotionally mature characters who communicate, support one another, and genuinely feel like partners. Sam wasn't perfect, but he loved fiercely, protected without being controlling, and proved through his actions exactly why he was worth taking a chance on.
If you're hesitant about age gap romances, don't let the 20-year difference scare you away. This is one of those books that reminds you tropes are only as good as the execution, and Emily Silver executed this one beautifully.
Oh how I love an age gap romance that’s filled with all the emotions. “Anything for You” is a steamy, heartfelt and romantic Dad’s best friend, age gap romance that was a fantastic addition to the “Pinecrest, Montana” series.
Joey is a single mom to an adorable little boy named Max. Between juggling motherhood and working, at times she wishes for a partner. But that’s just not in the cards for her right now. Sam is an older cowboy working on the same ranch Joey works at and he has started noticing her more. But starting anything is out of the question to him because he’s older than Joey. But after a disastrous ghosting, Sam is there to keep Joey company. And as the days go by, there are lingering looks between them and then the chemistry explodes between them.
Oh my god, I loved Joey and Sam’s story so much. I’m a sucker for an age gap and throw in Dad’s best friend, I’m gonna pick up that book so fast. Joey is an amazing mother and was always making sure Max was happy and taken care of. Sam is one swoony cowboy and I wouldn’t have been able to resist him like Joey. He had an older daughter who was grown and trying to make it on her own. Sam might have seen Joey first as something more but she was definitely on board once she realized she had the same feelings. Their meetup started up as lust filled first but as they spent time together, they truly connected on a deeper level. Sam was always putting Joey first so she knew how much he treasured her. He was also the perfect male figure for Max (who has an amazing uncle and grandpa by his side too). I loved how their relationship developed and keeping it a secret allowed them to go at their own pace. The ending was so sweet and I can’t wait for more from Emily Silver.
Thank you to Samantha at The Smuthood and the author, Emily Silver for the eARC
This was my first time reading this author, and I was completely blown away! I absolutely devoured this book in less than five hours. It is book two in a series but functions perfectly as a standalone, so you will not feel lost if you skip book one.
The story is a beautifully written, small-town romance that hits all the best tropes. Joey (FMC) is a strong, fierce single mom to 4 yr old Max. She's in her mid-twenties, works on the ranch, and has a strong support system with her family and friends. Sam (MMC) is a charming farrier at the ranch, a widower, and her dad’s best friend. Because of that, their love story starts as a secret relationship filled with stolen moments and sizzling encounters before growing into something much deeper.
The suspense of wondering how the truth would come out kept me turning pages!
What to expect: 🤫 Dad’s best friend / Age-gap romance ❤️ Strong, fierce single mom FMC 🔨 Charming farrier MMC (and he's a widower!) 👦 A hilarious, protective son who steals the show 🌾 Small-town ranch vibes & tight-knit family 🔥 Plenty of perfectly timed, sizzling spice
What truly stole the show for me was the incredible character depth. Max, is a total scene-stealer at times with his protective nature and witty banter. Watching Sam effortlessly and naturally step into their world was incredibly heartwarming.
The author perfectly balances cowboy charm, small-town family bonds, deep emotion, and plenty of sizzling spice at just the right times. It is a beautiful, high-stakes romance that I highly recommend!
I absolutely adored Anything For You! Emily Silver completely stole my heart with this one and I devoured it in one sitting. I was so invested in Sam and Joey that I didn’t want it to end.
Sam Shaw is officially on my book boyfriend list because this man was EVERYTHING. Protective, caring, patient, and so unbelievably sweet. The way he loved not only her but Joey too just melted me into a puddle. Every scene with him and Joey had me grinning like an idiot. You could feel how treasured they both were, and it made my heart so happy.
I am such a sucker for an age gap and dad’s best friend romance, and this book delivered all the angst, secrecy, and swoony moments I could ask for. The chemistry between Sam and Joey’s mom was incredible, and once they finally gave in to their feelings, I was completely obsessed.
But honestly, it was Sam with Joey that made this book unforgettable for me. Their bond was so precious and heartfelt. Those moments were some of my favorites in the whole book and had me feeling all warm and emotional.
This book had romance, steam, sweetness, and all the feels. I laughed, swooned, and fell completely in love with these characters. I couldn’t put it down and I already know I’ll be thinking about Sam for a long time.
Emily Silver absolutely nailed this one. If you love single mom romances, dad’s best friend, age gaps, and heroes who worship the people they love, then you need this book in your life. I loved Sam and Joey so much and honestly never wanted their story to end!
How did Emily Silver top the five-star start to her Pinecrest, Montana series? She simply delivered everything I love in a romance and then some with Anything For You (Book 2).
Hot cowboy? ✔️ Sizzling chemistry? ✔️ Age-gap romance? ✔️ Dad’s best friend? ✔️ Single mom? ✔️
This book had me hooked from the very first page.
Sam knows he should stay far away from Joey. After all, she’s his best friend’s daughter, and crossing that line could change everything. But Joey is impossible to ignore. She’s sassy, independent, works alongside him, and seems determined to push every single one of his buttons. One stolen kiss is all it takes before neither of them can deny what’s happening between them.
And Joey was such a wonderful heroine. Yes, she’s a single mom, but she’s so much more than that. Her passion for life shines from every page. She’s a devoted mother, fiercely protective of those she loves, but she’s also a woman who sometimes gets lonely and longs for something that’s just for her. She knows Sam should be completely off-limits, but honestly, the way this cowboy wears his hat and fills out those jeans… 🔥
From stolen kisses and secret dates to all the emotional moments in between, Emily Silver perfectly balances the swoon with the heart. The chemistry between Sam and Joey practically jumps off the page, but it’s when the outside world starts crashing will this couple saviour.
Packed with romance, emotion, family, friendship, and plenty of cowboy charm, Anything For You was an absolute can’t-put-down read. And that ending? The perfect HEA for a truly perfect story.
Main Takeaway 🏹: Father’s best friend with endless chemistry!
Synopsis 📜: As a single mom, I’ve had my fair share of dates with guys who are all wrong for me.
It makes me want to throw caution to the wind.
Personal Thoughts 🤔: Joey and Sam have an endless amount of chemistry. The spice in this book required a fan to keep me from combusting while reading. The conflict plays out pretty much as expected given the tropes but they are tropes I never get tired of reading and Emily Silver wrote them out beautifully! This was my first Emily Silver book but it will not be my last!
✨ARC REVIEW✨ 4.5⭐️ well I ate this one up! Joey may be off limits but that isn’t keeping Sam from fantasizing about his best friend’s daughter. Joey has had her fair share of bad guys in her life…including the father of her son…but she’s starting to want a good partner and someone to do life with her. Giving in to the pull between her and Sam can’t lead anywhere but it sure if fun. The more time they spend together though the more the more they’re discovering the connection between them is way more than physical. Joey’s dad would never be okay with them together so secret rendezvous will have to do for now. But what happens when the truth of what’s between them comes to light?
I was definitely intrigued by Sam and Joey’s story after the last book and it did not disappoint! The most important person in Joey’s life is her son. She’s just such a good mom and I loved the interactions between the two of them. Sam just fits right into their dynamic so well too. He’s so good to Joey but the way he steps up to be a father figure for Max just made my heart so happy. Joey deserves a win and it’s coming in the form of her dad’s best friend and let’s just say these two are meant for each other!!
Tropes: ✨Age Gap ✨Dad’s Best Friend ✨Forbidden/Secret Relationship ✨Cowboy Romance ✨Single Mom
Why can't dads ever see their little girls grow up?
Joey is ready to start dating again now that her son is about to start Pre-K, and she knows who she would like to date. Too bad Sam's off limits because he's her dad's best friend. What Joey doesn't know is that Sam may have feelings for her too, but isn't acting on them for that very reason. One kiss leads to one time to get it out of their system, which leads to a whole lot more. So what happens when they're caught by the one person they were both afraid to tell?
Sam and Joey get their happy ending in this standalone book in a series.
I loved how great both of them were as single parents, but by the end, how good they were as parents to both kids, even if Sam's daughter didn't need a mom quite as much as Joey's son needed a dad. I do wonder how long it was before Joey and her son moved out of her apartment and in with Sam, if in the bonus, Joey's dad was okay with them getting married. The small tease for the next book at the end has me wondering what kind of man Georiga is going to fall for and how much trouble he's going to bring to her life!
I received an advance review copy from The Smuthood Promo, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Dad’s best friend ✔️ Small-town romance ✔️ Age gap ✔️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Spice ✔️
Anything For You by Emily Silver has it all! Joey is a single mom to 4-year-old Max and isn’t looking for love—especially not with Sam, her dad’s best friend and a man much older than her. But the chemistry between them is impossible to ignore.
What starts as a secret relationship filled with stolen moments and sizzling encounters 🔥 quickly grows into something much deeper. As they sneak around and try to keep their romance hidden, their feelings become impossible to deny—until their secret is finally discovered.
I loved this book for so many reasons! It was packed with spice, featured some of my favorite tropes, and had a romance that completely captured my heart. Joey and Sam’s connection felt genuine and powerful, and I couldn’t help but root for them from the very beginning.
One of my favorite parts was Sam’s relationship with Max. The way he loves and cares for Joey’s son as if he were his own was absolutely swoon-worthy and added so much heart to the story.
Be sure to add Anything For You to your TBR and grab it on release day, June 26! ❤️📚
Thank you @authoremilysilver and @thesmuthood for this ARC!
I was lucky enough to receive an advance reader copy of Anything for You by Emily Silver, the second book in the Pinecrest series.
I absolutely loved this book. Joey and Sam's story completely captured my heart, and little Max was such a wonderful addition to the story. Featuring some of my favourite tropes—age gap, single mum, single older dad, and dad's best friend—this book delivered everything I was hoping for and more.
The character depth was fantastic, making it easy to become invested in everyone's journey. I also loved catching up with characters from the first book and seeing where life has taken them since their own story ended. The small details throughout the book really helped bring Pinecrest and its residents to life.
This is a great, easy read that keeps you hooked from beginning to end, with plenty of heart, emotion, and memorable moments along the way.
Emily Silver has done it again, and I already can't wait for Book 3 in September!
Highly recommended for anyone who loves small-town romance, lovable characters, and stories that leave you smiling long after you've finished the final page. ❤️📚
Anything for You is the second book in Emily Silver’s Pinecrest Montana series set in Montana and follows single mom Joey and Sam, who happens to be her dad’s best friend.
Joey is a single mom raising her son alone believing that there’s no one out there who wants to put in the effort being with her because she’s a package deal. Sure she’s been on dates here and there but nothings come of them and nothing can come of the crush she has on Sam. Sam is a farrier on the ranch and also happens to be her dad’s best friend but that doesn’t stop the butterflies every time she sees Sam. Sam is drawn to Joey but knows he should keep his distance but when he comes across Joey broken down on the side of the road spiraling, he does the only thing he can think of and kisses her. One kiss was never going to be enough and soon Sam can’t imagine his life without Joey or her son in it but if only it was simple.
Sam, Joey and Max form a cute little family and Sam treats them so well. I’m looking forward to Georgia’s story next.
Thank you @thesmuthood and @authoremilysilver for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback
Anything for You is the 2nd book in the Pinecrest Montana series. I read this book as an ARC. I did not read the 1st book and did not have an issue following along with the story.
Joey is the FMC. She is young, in her twenties and a single mom. She works at the ranch and is very involved with her family and friend group.
Sam is the MMC. He is Joeys dad's best friend. Sam has a daughter around joeys age but was widowed when she was very little. Sam also works on the ranch and is a ferrier.
Joey has always had a crush on Sam. And it seems like life has been beating her up lately. She just feels like she needs a partner in her life to support her, help ease every day burdens, and someone to share good times.
Sam finds Joey broke down on the side of the road and emotional. One thing leads to another and Sam kisses her!!! WELL... let me tell you, this is where the SPICY stuff happens!! 🥵🔥... sneaking around, Sam and Joey being a relationship. But can they survive Joeys dad finding out, or the town?!?!
This book has ALL the fun tropes!! 🐎 small town 🚜 dads best friend 🐎 single mom 🚜 age gap 🐎 forbidden 🚜 cowboy
If you haven’t read Fight for Us, the first book in the Pinecrest, Montana series, I highly recommend starting there. While Anything for You can be read as a standalone, several characters and dynamics are introduced in Book 1 that make this story even richer.
This installment has a very different vibe from the first. Where Book 1 leaned more emotional and soft, Anything for You turns up the heat—there is a lot of spice between Joey and Sam. Their age‑gap, best‑friend’s‑daughter dynamic adds tension, sweetness, and a little forbidden thrill. Joey is a single mom hoping to find real love and a father figure for Max, while Sam is a widower who never expected to fall for someone again—especially someone twenty years younger. But the instant connection he feels with Joey and Max is undeniable.
The dynamic between the three of them is genuinely adorable. Watching Sam step into their world feels natural and heartwarming. While I personally wished for a bit more depth in the storyline, this was still a quick, enjoyable read that kept me turning the pages. And now I’m definitely ready to see what’s next for Pinecrest.
If anyone needs to know anything. I read 150 pages in one sitting and looked at clock to realize it was close to 11pm and sighed cause I needed to sleep. I was CONSUMED with this book😭😩
If theres one thing about me is I LOVEEEEE forbidden. And this was just so CHEFS KISS😚🤌 Dad's bestfriend? Check Age gap of 20 years? Check Both are single parents? Check Sneaking around? Check TENSION and banter?! Check
Literally everything I could want. It was such a sweet, spicy and fast read. From page 1 was cheesing so hard. Joey was such a beautiful mother, always making sure her boy has the best life. What made me love her was that despite being a mom, she knew what she wanted. She wanted Daddy's bestfriend and girl said "THATS MINE😏"
These two collided and sparks were insane. The way I was blushing at the things he said to her?😩 What a mannnnn. Sam was so dang sweet, making sure she was always safe. Keeping her fed and taking care of her and Max over everything🥹
The text messages had me giggling. The setting was beautiful. I truly had a hard time even setting this down it was so dang cute💜
AGE GAP • SINGLE MOM • SINGLE DAD • FORBIDDEN (sign me up baby and whew this one was good + spicy)
Let me start off by saying, this series was a first I read of Emily’s and after the first book in this series, I was hooked. When I say that Emily absolutely blew this one of out of the water, I mean that! Anything For You was hands down my FAVORITE age gap book to date. The way she wrote Joey and Sam’s story felt so real. I’m so grateful she included every moment they COULD see each other, making sure not to tip anyone off, having him around as just a family friend at first.. these things were so important. And while this book was definitely on the forbidden side because of Joey’s dad.. I’m SO glad we got to watch their actual relationship blossom throughout the whole story, even in secret. And when I say Sam Shaw is THE MAN.. I mean that Sam Shaw is THE MAN. Probably one of my very favorite MMC’s too! The spice in this book was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I’ve been thinking about how well written it was for days! This book truly just blew me away and I will not stop recommending and raving about it!
Did I devour this book in one sitting? You bet I did. I ate this one up and left no notes. All the dang stars.
Sam and Joey (& Max) are EVERYTHING. Give me forbidden and age gap and I am a happy romance reader 🤭
Emily’s writing is like a warm hug, her books are always a great time and I enjoyed this one so much. Their story is so sweet and oh so spicy. They are exactly what the other one needs at this point in life, even if they know their difference in age is going to be a problem for some people.
Sam is the most caring and sweetest man. The way he is with Joey and Max had me swooning. Did I mention his filthy mouth? Because that is also a highlight.
Joey is a straight up flirt who has had the worst luck at picking the right men. She deserves someone who will do anything for her and when she finds him..it just so happens to be her dad’s best friend… 🤭🤭🤭
What to expect: Small town Dad’s best friend Single mom Forbidden Cowboy Age gap
I had never read an Emily Silver novel before, but if you're in the market for a sweet cowboy romance, then this is perfect for you!
Our FMC is Joey, who is a single mum to Max. She has moved home to be closer to family after Max's dad decided fatherhood wasn't for him. She is hard working, independent, devoted and has stars in her eyes for her father's best friend Sam.
Enter our MMC. Sam is reluctant to begin anything with Joey, primarily due to the 20 year age gap between them, but as time goes on, his ability to stay away proves too difficult.
The way this man cares and looks after the FMC is something else. His ability to both be so kind, thoughtful and caring to Joey and Max and then be an absolute demon in bed had me wishing my own father's best friend was a cowboy.
This book is perfect for fans of 🏡 Small town romance 🤠 Cowboy 🕰️ Age Gap 🔥 Dad's best friend ❌ Forbidden 🤲 Acts of service 👦🏻 Single mum 🌶️ An abundance of spice
I am very thankful to have been given the opportunity to read this ARC by The Smuthood and Emily Silver.
✨ARC Review✨ Anything For You (Book 2 in the Pinecrest, Montana Series) By Emily Silver
When did I start falling for my best friend’s daughter? I don’t know, but she really is the most beautiful woman in the world.
“So many f***ing things I want to do to you. But make no mistake. I am going to f*** you senseless, Joey.” “Do it,” she urges me on.
Seeing them together makes my heart swell. This is something I’ve always wanted. Someone to not only love my son, but to love me.
I love Joey and Sam! There story is the perfect quick pace that I love! There’s no back and forth, these two feel the connection, they know the risks and they take them anyways. And see Sam take care of not only Joey but her son Max too is so freaking heart melting! Loved it!
Thank you so much Emily and The Smuthood for the chance to ARC read!

💭: Emily Silver books are quickly becoming my go-to palate cleansers!
Are you in a reading slump? Nursing an emotional hangover from your last read? Or just not in the mood for a slow burn packed with angst? Pick up an Emily Silver book. Her stories are fun, light, quick, and fast-paced—the perfect reset between heavier reads.
Pinecrest, Montana is home to a resort ranch, and from the moment I read book one, Cowboy Sam had my attention. Maybe it was because he was older (a man in his 40s? Yes, please 😏), but the second I found out book two was his story, I knew I had to read it. Age gap, single mom, dad’s best friend… yeah, that’s exactly my kind of book.
And that barn scene? The truck scene? Lawdddddd have mercy. 🔥 I’d give just about anything to hear Sam call me “darlin.”
If you’re a cowboy romance lover looking for an easy, feel-good summer read, then Anything For You is the perfect book.
Give me a cowboy romance with a sizeable age gap, a single mom, and her dad’s best friend, and I’m already halfway to Giddy-Up Town.
This book was so much fun.
It’s definitely a fast burn. Neither of them puts up much of a fight, which honestly worked perfectly for me. There isn’t a mountain of angst or endless resistance standing between them. Instead, the story dives straight into the chemistry, the attraction, and all the delicious tension that comes from two people who know they absolutely shouldn’t want each other… but very much do.
The romance was easy, SPICY, and incredibly satisfying.
Add in a rugged cowboy, a swoony age gap, a protective single mom, and the forbidden thrill of the dad’s best friend trope, and you’ve got a recipe for a thoroughly entertaining read.
Sometimes you don’t need emotional devastation and seventeen business days of miscommunication. Sometimes you just need a cowboy, a little scandal, and a whole lot of chemistry.
I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV, can be read as a standalone, and ends with a HEA. Joey (25) is the single mom to 4-year-old Max. She is struggling to get by but has the help of her extensive biological and found family group, including her parents. Sam (45) is her dad’s best friend. When he realizes he is falling for Joey, he tries to avoid her. Joey, for her part, loves to flirt with sexy Sam. What starts as a quick fling, quickly becomes more. This was a steamy read. Sam is hotter than Hades and a good man who wants to love Joey with everything he has. They have to overcome the obstacles of her dad, and Sam’s long friendship with him. Thankfully, it doesn’t take long for Joey and Sam to fight for the love they have built together. This was a sweet and sexy read. I am excited for the next book in the series.
I loved being back in Pinecrest! I’ve been waiting for Joey’s HEA ever since we met her in Chase’s story, and this was absolutely worth it. Sam is one seriously hot cowboy, and I loved how he just couldn’t stay away from Joey. Their chemistry is intense, with a perfectly done push-pull as Sam wrestles with his feelings for his best friend’s daughter. It added just the right amount of tension without taking away from the romance. Joey really comes into her own in this story. She’s stronger than she gives herself credit for, and I loved seeing her decide it was finally her time and go after what she wanted. And Max? You won’t be able to resist him—he’ll completely melt your heart. Lennox was another standout for me; I loved her bond with Sam and really hope we see more of her in future books. The friendship group brought all the feels once again, and it’s a big part of why I’m loving this small-town series so much. I can’t wait for more from Pinecrest!
I've been waiting for Joey and Sam's story ever since reading Fight for Us, and it did not disappoint!
This was such a quick, addictive read that had me hooked from the very first page. Getting to return to Pinecrest felt like coming home, and I loved being back in this small town.

⭐️5/5 stars ⭐️ 🌶️ 4/5
Joey and Sam have secretly been carrying feelings for each other for years, and the tension between them was so good. The moment they finally kissed? I was done for.
And can we talk about Max? Joey's son completely stole my heart. He was adorable, and I loved watching Sam not only win over Joey but Max as well. Their relationship felt natural, sweet, and impossible not to root for.
If you've been waiting for Joey and Sam's story, trust me—it was worth the wait.
I received this book as an ARC, but all thoughts are my honest opinion.
I enjoyed this book a lot. We have forbidden, single mom, dad's best friend cowboy romance. This was a short easy read, less than 300 pages. The book moved at a fairly fast pace. From attraction to love, they fell pretty quic for each other. I love the way Sam took care of Joey and her son, like it was natural for him. He never really loved again after his wife passed, and it was great to read about him finding it. Joey has known only red flags, so when she gets with Sam, she's not used to the things he does for her. Oh my gosh, and he's a cowboy! I was totally here for it. He calls her "darlin", and I swooned every single time. This is a steamy book and I loved it. Sam Shaw is a gentleman, but in the sheets, my man was anything but! I definitely recommend this if you're looking for a short read, with a cowboy who has a filthy mouth.
