If anyone happens across this review, the most important thing that happened in this segment has nothing to do with Pirateaba’s text, prose, or any other element necessary for a book. No. It was the narration. Guys/Gals, they did it! We’ve recaptured the magic after the narrator change! The nuance present from Andrea is back. Give it a listen (since reading it is already free online) and you will see.

Also, the story is what we’ve come to expect in this series: excellent. And for perhaps the first time, I felt like the title actually captured the spirit of the book. The ending was powerful even if I wanted to see more finality with one of the main plot lines.

I love this series book 19 and still keeps me on the edge of my seat . I love all the characters and the world . I love how they’ve all grown and learnt so much. Getting worried when it will end as I dnt want it too. Everyone should read this series it’s so addictive. There are some characters I’m desperate to hurry and cross paths already !

Volume 7 is a BANGER! I’m way too hype to finish it with the next book! Frankly I’d be happy to get a new one of these every week!
My favorite part of this book was definitely the Singer’s performances. I just got chills imagining it all.
As a Flos fan myself I was very sad to see him experience a defeat, but I’m very excited to see what he’s capable of when on the back foot.
Seeing the vampire stuff gave me some closure on that mystery and it all made a whole lot of sense.
So much is happening with Erin and I’m so here for it. Especially since it’s all pretty happy and cozy right now!
Damn I just love this series! I’m always happy to enter this world of my favorite series ever.
Let’s keep going!

Una d’aquelles entregues de 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑊𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐼𝑛𝑛 que m’han recordat per què estic tan enganxada a aquesta saga. I, per començar, m’ha fet molt feliç retrobar-me amb dues de les meves goblins preferides, Rags i Pebblesnatch. Ja les trobava a faltar.

Aquesta vegada la història s’obre en moltes direccions. Tornem a Chandrar, amb la guerra de Flos i Jecrass arribant a moments d’una èpica enorme; seguim Ryoka, Fierre i Salamani mentre s’acosten cada vegada més al món dels Correus; retrobem els goblins... Hi passen moltíssimes coses i, un cop més, sorprèn fins a quin punt ha crescut aquest món i la quantitat de personatges i històries que l’autora és capaç de fer conviure.

I després hi ha els Couriers Outbound. Uns correus que, quan la situació és desesperada i el perill enorme, decideixen fer un pas endavant. Aquesta idea m’ha encantat i dona lloc a alguns dels moments més èpics i colpidors del llibre. Perquè saben perfectament què s’hi juguen i, tot i així, hi van. I m’ha fascinat especialment, en Hundredfriends Courier, tan original com commovedor.

I això és una de les coses que més m’agraden d’aquesta saga. Pot construir escenes d’una èpica enorme i, unes pàgines després, aconseguir que el que realment t’importi sigui el que està vivint un personatge. I en aquesta entrega hi ha moments que m’han emocionat molt.

𝐶𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑂𝑢𝑡𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑 ha estat una entrega intensa, èpica i molt emotiva, d’aquelles que poden fer-te somriure per un retrobament i deixar-te amb el cor encongit unes pàgines després.

I sí, tornar a tenir la Rags i la Pebblesnatch per aquí m’ha fet immensament feliç.

It has been a while since a Wandering Inn title actually felt like it fit the story this well. Courier Outbound finally gives readers a much closer look at the couriers, and it was genuinely enjoyable seeing them in action rather than just hearing about them in passing. Their role in the world feels more meaningful now, and the book does a good job expanding that part of the setting.

The story continues to build toward larger events, and that progression has been one of the strongest parts of this arc. There are a lot of moving pieces coming together, and it is exciting to see the groundwork being laid for what is likely coming next.

That said, the 3/5 rating is honestly more reflective of the audiobook experience than the story itself. The narration continues to be a major struggle for me, particularly with Erin. The audiobook narrator still struggles with consistency in character voices, which becomes increasingly distracting and, at times, rather annoying. Characters can sound noticeably different from scene to scene, making it harder to stay immersed in the story.

Overall, I still enjoyed the book and appreciated the increased focus on the couriers and the larger story buildup. If I were judging the story alone, I would likely rate it higher, but the audiobook performance significantly impacted my experience this time around.

Man I love this series. It is such a cozy read, most of the time. There are definitely atrocities and losses, but mostly just a fun read with soooooooooo much happening. With the size of the series there is so much character development and world building time.

Hat's off to pirateaba and Couriers Outbound, as once again pirateaba has written a Stellar book! Although I wouldn't classify this as just a novel... it, as with all of the books in the Wandering Inn series are a collection of short novels tied together by a group of humans who were shotguned into into world by unknown circumstances. This book happens to tell 12 of those stories. In Couriers Outbound we get more of Ryoka Griffin and Feiro, her vampire friend's, story as they deal with Feiro's relapse. Also Erin Solstice has'ta deal with her own bigotry and find her true Soul flame with Maviola El's help. And speaking of Maviola El she receives a potion that gives her the true bloom of youth and she shines bright 🌞 being the life of the party! And everyone is awed by the Couriers Outbound the guild name he goes by and his feats of courage! And Lism wow! Lism shows his true colors, he really pulls through for Liscor! Of course honorable mentions to the Singer of Terandera, The Players of Selam, Numbtoung, Octavia, and of course Mrsha! Oh, oh, oh I almost forgot, Troy reinvented the bicycle with skills and magic! There literally is soooooooo much more to enjoy, but inspite of all that The Wandering Inn books are Never Ever long enough! And I Absodamnlutely Need the Next book now! Drums fingers!

My favorite endless tale continues. And when I mean endless, it's merely a wish, because even though it's a truly enormous tale, with each book being huuuuugeeee, it's still one of the most enjoyable, heart-warming, edge-of-seat, anger-inducing, honorable, well-rounded, and amusing novels (or novel series) out there.

At least, I can't believe how invested I am in it. Or just how much sleep I'm willing to eschew in order to keep reading. Or how excited I am for each new novel. Or how invasive the thought is that I should want to start re-reading this monstrous series from the start again for the sheer joy of it.


In particular, I'd say that this novel and the one directly preceding it are heavily entwined, but that's not quite true. All of the characters have wonderfully huge story arcs that are epic and fantastic in their own rights and are heavily interwoven in each and every novel that comes out. It's impossible to separate them directly and I wouldn't want to, even if they generally have little to do with other arcs except as glancing blows. But that doesn't mean much when it builds such a huge amount of worldbuilding that lives and breathes and gives heart and beauty even to those who would be endless enemies to other characters.

The point is, it's all people. Even when they're different races. drakes, gnolls, stitch people, witches, insects, goblins, dragons, humans. Those from this world or from Earth. Each with their own load of baggage. And yet... strange, beautiful intersections between them all. Endlessly fascinating. And NOT derivative. :)

There's a reason why I love the series. And it's mostly due to its heart.

I keep saying I don’t care that much about the King of Destruction storyline, and then pirateaba goes and makes me care anyway.

This book was just hit after hit.

The Minotaurs kicking ass. The King of Jecrass kicking ass. Rasea Zecrew kicking ass!!! Yes, yes, and YES.

I loved the Hundredfriends Courier coming from A’ctelios Salash because that whole storyline makes you think that A’ctelios Salash is not that terrible when some chapters ago I was "who are these monsters!", and then there’s the Singer of Terandria! I didn't care about her books much but now I can't wait to read them!

Back in Liscor, I also loved Lism and Krshia getting together... it makes sense, all that loathing and that tension, ahem, ahem... and, Lism giving Erin her flowers! There’s something so satisfying about seeing characters acknowledge just how much she has changed Liscor.

And then that ending.

“First Landing to Tyrion Veltras... Couriers Outbound!”

WOW. WOW. WOW.

That was such a perfect final line, Goosebumps!

But then you read ahead in the story in the webserial and are like "Pirateaba, damn you!" I DREAD the day I finally catch up and have to wait every week for more The Wandering Inn.

pirateaba, please take care of yourself and keep giving us this joy, these moments of reflection, and even the heartbreak. What a joy it is to find a story that can move you this much.

Another banger, though less so than the previous entry. While the last one had the explosiveness of Rhir and the plot developments of the Antinium and Ryoka/Fierre, this time around the focus was more of a setup for the volume closure. Communications with the Singer of Terandria, delivery of ocillium to Baleros to treat the Yellow Rivers disease, the Rhaskgar, and Tyrion's poisoned children do count as plot development. Though I mean to say that there wasn't any big moment that could be said to be a climax. The treatment of the Rhaskgar, in particular, was extremely well done in my opinion. Beyond a blind defense of the species, or an unconditional condemnation, Erin chose to decide her opinion on the matter in a satisfactory way, by using her new mercy fire. That said, the push-around between Erin and Pallass was great to see, as her weight is finally felt in truth. I think our [Champion]'s adventures and the undead town will have to way for the next volume, though. I'm just a little worried of how Pirateaba will conclude the seventh volume, as there is much in need of happening in a short time frame. Let's hope for the best.

Too much time with Flos Reimarch, the King of Destruction (6+ hrs of audio book time). I'll be happy when that story line comes to an end; there are far more interesting character to follow other than him. Yet he is surrounded by some really interesting folks.

Current books always feel like they are lacking enough time with the original main character(s) and their shenanigans.

This book felt like lots of things were coming together but then there just wasn't enough book left to wrap it all up, which is normal but this ending was more of a cliff hanger than usual which I found disappointing. This book and the previous book felt like they were builder books and while I feel like lots the plot lines in the previous book grew more or concluded, I wasn't as satisfied as I had been in previous books.

I can only hope that there is a culmination book on the horizon (e.g. Tears of Liscor, book 9).

Couriers Outbound is a solid book with some great moments that suffers from being the setup to the final book of V7. Sure, the thematic thread of the work of Couriers (literally and figuratively) connects a good number of chapters (Ryoka finishing her mission and being tested; getting a cure to Baleros; the work on Innverse bicycles; races for Tyrion Veltras and Maviola El against time), but it isn't the strongest theme (racing just isn't my favourite kind of story) or the strongest connection. Some of my favourite moments are somewhat unrelated - weirdly, despite previous complaints about too much focus on the nations of Chandrar, King Realt has become a favourite (he does have a race of sorts near the end of his section); I also surprisingly loved the chapter set in the Federation of Illivere about Golems. That's also a strength of the Wandering Inn - surprising you with a POV you did not expect to fall in love with. The last time I rated a volume ~7.5/10, Empress of Beasts, that rating rested almost entirely on the strength of the final section on the Horns of Hammerad. This book is just solid from start to finish - I'm looking forward to the conclusion of V7!

It just keeps getting better and better. I love how every character has his or her own story arc, so every time the story moves to a different character we get two stories, what is going on with the character and how that narrative fits into the bigger over arching story. I can't wait for book 20! I so like being in this world and normally I spend at least 12 hours a week in this wonderful place (in traffic) which keeps me sane and so entertained. This book is not predictable, I love trying to guess how the characters will solve their problems but rarely am I right and almost always I am astonished at the imagination of Pirateaba. Such an amazing story teller! Couldn't recommend this series higher, best story per dollar spent anywhere. I love this book...it ended on a cliff's edge...hurry for book 20 - PLEASE!

More progress towards the bigger plot but I can't help but feel bummed out when the plot jumps to Erin and the wandering Inn. All the other actors have these big plot lines and our main protagonist deals with some random stuff. I don't want her to be in big fights nonstop but it kinda feels like a filler episode when it jumps back there imo. The rest of the story made wanna know what's more there is to come while Erin's groups makes me wonder when the we change back to someone else. Maybe I just don't like what happened to Erin's character being the "I will do whatever I want, I know about everything, I am mysterious and nonchalant, I am the smartest and have the most empathy." I stoll love the series but I hope things get better with our friends at the wandering inn.

Really enjoyed this entry in the Wandering Inn series and I’m sad I’m going to have to wait a while for the next audiobook. The audiobook is very well voiced as usual, with each individual character having a distinct and unique voice.

Broadly this wasn’t a book where the plot moved very fast. There were definitely some big events, but it’s another setup book, like many others in the series. Lots of characters moving into position for the next hinted large events, threads and hints placed throughout so many different scenes.

I did really enjoy seeing the crossover of some of the plot threads that have been building up- especially between the inn and the last light. It was cool to see some more of the Emperor, and the rising shadow of the circle of thorns.

There is so much to say about this book- this whole series! Countless named characters; plot lines that have been building over the span of multiple books and I enjoy every second. I cannot wait for book 20 and it breaks my heart that I have no more until it arrives.

On another note, there are so many things I’m excited for!!! I cannot wait for the ‘Tall Man’ to make his appearance in The Wandering Inn. I love that he’s protecting her. And the goblins!!!! Where is the Grand Mage?? I neeeeeed to know what’s happening with Grimalkin after the showdown. What crazy confluence of events will Erin kick off next??? Guys this is my comfort series and I need more.

This book got back to the plot development that I was hoping for. I love the slice of life stuff, that's just fun without huge implications, but an entire book of it feels a little bit like a filler. I love where Pirateaba is going with Ryoka and Feiro, they have a fun relationship and the direction Pirateaba has gone with Ryoka is very satisfying, she may have the most character growth in the entire series and that is wonderful considering I hated Ryoka when she was first introduced. My new favorite storyline is Maviola El, I'm hoping Saliss finds a way to keep her young and her and Lism can continue their relationship.

Absolutely amazing. With zero exaggeration I can with confidence say that this is one of the best books in the series to date. It takes many storylines and either ties them off, heavily progresses them, or sets up for future conflicts. An extremely very well written book with a very feel good vibe to it, finally giving our protagonists some immediate wins with a break from conflict (for now). Highly recommended and enjoyed very thoroughly.

Also after reading the SoT subseries it’s always a pleasure to see singer based arcs and see characters from it.

This is my least favourite volume in the series so far. For some reason I was far more conscious of the narrative being interrupted to give the reader lots of background info to characters and places. This happens a lot in the series but this time it seemed more obvious.
Also, I couldn’t help feeling the book was all setting up the next volume.
However, there was still much to enjoy. Especially Erin being Erin and her confusion when other characters expected her to act a certain way and she doesn’t.

I dragged out listening to this for as long as I possibly could , I just didn’t want to end this series not knowing when my next fix would be, it’s safe to say I love these characters and this world deeply. My one tiny little niggle is that Numb Tongues comments and reactions to Garrias parents felt weird and out of character because actually he was fully down with the nudity before? Sounded more like something Erin the prude with religious brainwashing would say 😂 idk took me out of the moment and he really wouldn’t shut up about it either

I don’t know if I’ve read too many mediocre books lately or if I just missed this world, but this one is absolutely amazing. Even the writing has improved tenfold. The way each scene transitions seamlessly into the next is something I’ve never experienced before from this author.

This book has everything: epic battles, emotion, moral dilemmas, and fun meanderings. And somehow, it even ends on a cliffhanger.

If you have already read the story, I already tought this book would fall in between two plots and this would fall into the the "weakest" book for me, it did have some battles and cool moments, but it will start setting up a massive cliff hanger for next book... and then one of the most impactful arcs will start. Vol 8.

Minus one star for no Relc updates. Stellar series. What an absolute find. "The Wandering Inn" kept popping up on my Kindle recommendations, so I finally read it. Then proceeded to read the rest of the series. Truly one of the best series out there. Well written characters, lots of action and entertainment, engrossing story-lines, and it holds my interest. Looking forward to the next one. Does not disappoint.

Amazingly Still Enthralling.

Despite being millions of words into the series and probably hundreds of hours of reading, this series is still absolutely unmatched in terms of ability to enthrall, in no small measure because of the huge world and many ongoing storylines. There really is no other series out there with such in-depth world building and character development.
