hummmm

This book was okay, it started out very interesting and it captured my attention quickly. However, i felt like it was rushed from towards the end. Henry’s grand jester was kinda awkward. I think if the book was longer it could have great potential

Had potential

Could have been a cute, quick little read but this was one of the dumbest stories I've read. They're in love but you see no part of any connection. They randomly hook up, fine, then nothing, then in love, having a baby, and moving together.

A lot of tropes all crammed into one tiny novella. I'm just reminded why I don't like reading romance novels under 200 pages, not enough time to build up a relationship

short and sweet

I liked this book! One thing I would have loved was for the book to be a longer. I thought there was a lot of backstory we could have used for the MMC to fully understand his thought process. I did however think it was a sweet story, and enjoyed reading it.

A short, sweet book with some spice. No OM/OW drama.

I read these books when I’m waiting at an appointment (or the bus stop to pick up the kid) and don’t want to get fully invested in a longer book.

There is an oops pregnancy in this one. H has been in love with h for a long time, but he is considered family…so he never wanted to step over the line. Well, until the night they did. 🤪 Since H is kind of dumb, he didn’t know how to play it off the next morning so he pretended he was too drunk to remember. Yep! That went over well. He has to come up with a grand gesture to win her back….especially when he finds out she’s pregnant.

It’s an okay read for what it is.

This wasnt it... how r u gonna have a book with less then 200 pages and start repeating chapters!?!? Also we spent way too much time in the past. I needed more time of this asshole groveling and less of the background. Btw he needed to suffer wayyyyy more, he was so selfish for reasons that could have easily been fixed in therapy. The family should have shunned him for at least 3 months after this bc it was so unnecessary. I treat my enemies nicer then this guy treated her. I liked the mom and sisters tho. I also appreciated that Sydney called him out on his bs immediately. He really had me thinking she was a predator in the first half of this book smh.

There are three things wrong with this book

1. The cover is hilarious but kinda weird.

2. Sydney is 25 and says she’s firmly a millennial. The book says they got together on February 14, 2026. She can’t be a millennial. She’s Gen Z.

3. The book needs to be 3x longer, PLEASE. It has so, so much potential. The writing was fun and entertaining. The characters were great. But, the book was rushed and over too soon. If it had been fleshed out more, I would have given it a 5/5.

Super cute

This was a quick sweet love story and of course a surprise baby. It hooked me in! It was a little annoying that an entire chapter was repeated (like word for word) after we get a little of the past.

I loved that her family was supportive.

short and sweet

The author managed to pack a lot in just a few pages. It was short. It was sweet. And it was somewhat spicy (.5/5). Definitely a nice book to read after reading something dark.

renewed my faith in short stories!

I really enjoyed this book! Usually short stories end up making big leaps, I didn’t get that from this one. It flowed well, good level of spice; a fun short read!

What a great quick read

There were a couple typos but overall I liked it.

Here's my gripe: copy and pasting the present day chapter was obnoxious and felt lazy for how short the book was.

Rushed and to short

The beginning was fun and caught my interest, but then it felt rushed to end the story with a happy ending. I would have liked more banter and a better build up to the climax of the story.

A quick cute read. The love psychic and one-night stand pregnancy tropes were done well and in a cute way.

Henry and Sydney’s romance is a sweet, entertaining story that’s a great palate cleanser and can easily be read in a day. Good storytelling, some angst but a nothing too deep, and a hero and heroine who love from afar but are afraid to act on it. The story delves into their 10 years of their friendship but unfortunately doesn’t give us any details about how and why Henry was welcomed into the family in the first place? Cue the parental meddling and an accidental pregnancy. Sutton’s book is up next.

The story telling here is kind of a mess. We almost the entire middle of this book in a flashback, and yes, narratively this can work very well as they can add more context to what's happening in the present, but here it would've been better to start with the flashbacks.

Tropes:
Brother's Best Friend
Accidental Pregnancy
Mutual Pining
