Suzzana C Ryan is an avid romance novel reader; her favorite writers were Rosemary Roger, Beatrice Small, Kathleen Woodwiss and Jude Deveraux, those women who weren’t afraid to take romance writing as far as it would go at the time.

She’s always had a desire to write and twenty years ago, she’s written her first romance novel. Until this day it remains, hidden away to remind her how far she’s come with her writing. Once the nest was empty, she decided to try her hand again at writing, and found that with maturity came knowledge…and erotic romance.

Maxwell's Desire

Maxwell, an ex-navel seal, considers himself damaged goods. Scared and now working as a head of security in a company run by a perverted old man. The boss's wife 40 yrs his junior has been kidnapped. The husband thinks it may be a hoax but wants her back. Maxwell, is then given the job to find her. As soon as he sees her picture, he knows he wants her. He suspects that there is more to the story than what his boss is telling him, but it is a job. When he finds her and her would be captures, he knows she has hired them but it has backfired and she knows she will back with her husband soon. And when Maxwell sees her is a slip of a gown tied to a bed, he is both horrified and turned on. He sees why she has gone to great length to get out of her husbands hands. In areas on her body that could be covered he sees all of the old scars and burns from years of abuse. He knows she will never be in her husbands hands again. He wants to keep her safe but also wants time with her in his bed as well.

This is a short book. The sex scenes are hot. There is talk of abuse so not for the faint of heart. It is a book of 2 people who have both been through personal horrors and then use each other to comfort one another. Neither expecting what they find. Good short story, with a happy ending!
