A short, informative guidebook to wintertime outdoors living, delivering exactly what it says. It includes information on skiing and snowshoeing gear and how to build snow shelters and dodge avalanches. It is a bit esoteric and would be useful to anyone for whom “winter” means very heavy snow cover and mountainous terrain, and who plans on doing a lot of what seems (to me at least) extremely challenging activities. It’s not aimed for general hiking and in wooded terrain at moderate elevations.
