Mardi Gras is coming, and no one is more excited than Jolie—The Big Easy’s resident good witch. Amidst the festivities, darkness creeps under the blissful veil of love she is entangled with. Her twin sister, the evil witch Melanie, is out to destroy Jolie before her powers can usurp her own, willing to stop at nothing to do so. Jolie, aided by Asher and his seven-man wolf pack, are set to keep New Orleans safe from Melanie’s sorcery, or die trying.
Enjoy the story of Jolie and Asher, a modern-day retelling of the classic tale Snow White.
This Mardi Gras season, let the sinful good times roll with Trapt, a Twisted Wolf Tale and part of the Red Hot Cajun Nights multi-author series (stands alone for reading enjoyment).
Warning: This supernatural urban fantasy romance novella contains adult situations and is meant for ages 18+.
Rene Folsom, author of contemporary and paranormal, lives in Florida with her husband and three kids. She has officially diagnosed herself with creative ADD and often has a million and one writing projects going at once. In addition to writing, she is also a graphic artist who enjoys creating custom book covers for indie authors. She is definitely an artist at heart and would love nothing more than to be elbow deep in clay during her waking hours.
Rene believes that all fiction is based on some form of reality—otherwise we would never have the inspiration or knowledge to dream up the realistic situations we portray with our words. She is proud to say that her personal experiences have been inspirational, though perhaps not always identical to that of her fictional characters. Where reality and fantasy diverge, however, must remain her little secret…
This is the third book in the Twisted Wolf Tales. I absolutely love this series of twisted Fairy Tales. This is a new version of Snow White.
Jolie, is a witch. She has her own little shop and loves to help people. She also has an evil twin sister, that is out for revenge against Jolie. She has a bestie/coworker that is an Imp also.
Asher comes into Jolie's shop. He needs help to save one of the members of his pack. All the pack member does is sleep. Being that Jolie loves to help people, she can't say no, even though she knows he's not human, but she goes anyways.
"You're always putting on a kind, brave face for everyone, but bottling up your sorrows will only make it harder to find joy in life."
She figures out that her twin, Melanie, is behind all of this. Every bad thing that is happening to Jolie, is because of Melanie. I guess you can include some of the good also though because without Melanie doing all of this, she would have never met Asher and the other 6.
"I was falling for a werewolf. A witch and a were-how odd was that?"
I'm not going to go into too much detail about the book because I don't want to give anything away. I did have fun guessing which wolf was which dwarf. I'm pretty sure that I got them all right :) I really loved the subtle mentions about characters from the previous two books also. You don't need to read them before this one, they are all stand alones.
A fantastic reinvention of Snow White! Jolie is a good witch with a problem. That problem is her evil twin sister. Her sister poisons one of the 7 werewolves that are living together in the woods. Yep, the dwarves are really werewolves and Snow White is a witch! It can’t get any better than that.
You know you’re in for a fun twist when you add werewolves and witches to the fairytales you think you know! Ash is one of the wolves and hunky. Jolie and Ash are falling for each other. There is also a little help of Puck, an imp that is a good friend to Jolie. Puck has some spunk. It would be fun to see more from Puck.
Jolie must find a way to fight her evil twin Melanie. Melanie is striving to take everything away from Jolie including her goodness. Ash needs to break the spell over Jolie while is fighting evil Melanie.
Trapt was an excellent story that captivated me. The magic of good over evil and love winning all.
A twist on the story of Snow White. This book was fabulous and I loved every minute of it. Rene is doing an amazing job of taking the tales that everyone knows and twisting them into a new story that captures the readers attention.
Jolie is a witch with a wicked step sister who is out to destroy her. Asher saunters into her life and turns everything upside down. Side by side they work together and eventually....
And that's where I'll leave my review. If you wanna find out what happens to Asher and Jolie pick up your copy of Trapt.
I am thoroughly enjoying this series of twists on old tales. This author has a gift. This book made me smile and at times I was worried for Jolie. I could not imagine looking after seven big strong men who have no idea how to keep house. She has an evil after her that is near impossible to fight yet with the help of her guys she stands a chance. I highly recommend this series if you like fairy tales with a grown up twist.
Love this adult twist on Snow White. Rene has a gift for storytelling and this book is wonderful!
Jolie is a good witch and her evil twin is out to get her. She meets Ash one 7 werewolves. Her business/home is burnt and Jolie ends up taking care of the 7 werewolves. Jolie fights for her life against her evil twin and the werewolves are there to help. A story full of intrigue, love, hate and hotness.
I am really loving this fairy tale with a twist series! Trapt is the newest in the series and it is a retelling of Snow White. Jolie and Melanie are twins and witches, Melanie is evil and Jolie is good. Melanie is trying to destroy Jolie because she blames her for the death of their parents. Jolie has the help of her 7 "dwarfs" and Puck, will good overcome evil? This one was my favorite of the 3 in the series!
I really enjoyed this latest book by Rene Folsom. It moved along at the perfect speed, not to fast nor to slow, just the right speed for this book. The characters will grab you and you will want to see them succeed no matter what and the story was interesting and entertaining keeping the book in your hands until you finished the very last page. This has got to be read, no doubt about it.
I loved the twist on the fairy tale. I loved the setting (being from Louisiana, myself!). I loved Jolie and her imp friend, and I liked Asher and the wolf pack brothers. But, even though her sister put a spell on her, I didn't like the way Jolie, as a supposedly powerful witch, fell under it so quickly and turned from her true nature, treating those she loved so badly. I didn't care for the love scene, either. The story, over all, however, was good.
I enjoyed reading this as it was a good retelling of Snow White. The author seemed to have fun creating characters around the originals and some of our favorites are prominently displayed in this story. I'm glad I was able to read it and will be seeking out more books by this author.
WOW WOW WOW - this is the first book that I have read by Rene Folsom and OMG - it was amazing!!!!
This is the story of Jolie (a good Witch) and her sister Melanie (an evil witch). Trapt is a quick fun read, I found that it was hard to put this down until I reached the ending. When Melanie tries to take out revenge on her sister Jolie, Ash stepped in to help her. Then she finally realized that Ash was part of a wolf pack. I don't write spoilers, but OMG - this is definitely a must read book!!!
A very enjoyable read. Trapt a retelling of Snow White. This story of Jolie a good Witch and her evil sister Melanie. Trapt is a quick fun read, I found myself laughing out loud at some parts of the story. Ash, Love interest, Wolf/Hottie and his Pack/Room Mates are lots of fun. They are Loggers in the Louisiana Southern Swamp Lands. There are two other books in The Twisted Wolf Series: Tempt and Trust and Trapt is part of the Red Hot Cajun Nights Box Set.
I give Tempt 4 stars for its fun retelling of Snow White. I would recommend this book to Adults.
I've been a huge fan of the author Rene Folsom for years now and I love how every book I have read of hers I have loved and enjoyed! You'll think that by now l've read a book of hers that isn't really my cup of tea, considering she has books in multiple genres, but that is not the case. Every book I read of hers has its own voice, its own unique plot and characters, and every single one of her books inspire in me some way.
Trapt, which is a short retelling of the classic fairytale, Snow White, is one of my favorite novels of Rene. Oddly enough, I really didn't like the original storyline and the movie of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Don't know why, but I just don't. So when I started reading this book, I was a tad worried because I thought I wouldn't find the story interesting because I don't like the original story and this was a retelling of that. I was so wrong! I loved this book and I applaud the author for writing such a compelling and fun novel! She has made me a fan of Snow White, even if the plot and characters were really different. I love the paranormal aspect of this story, it added a lot to the storyline, and I really enjoyed the twists the author made.
Mardi Gras is almost here and Jolie, who is a good witch, is excited for the festivities. But unfortunately for her, her twin sister Melanie, who is the resident evil witch, is out to destroy her and everything she loves as revenge for something that occurred years in the past. Jolie will need the help of her friends, which include a pack of wolves, one of which she falls for, if she hopes to live another day.
Melanie has wanted revenge on Jolie for years, but with the knowledge that her sister's magic is growing more powerful and might one day surpass hers, she speeds up her revenge plans and targets Jolie and everything, and everyone, she loves.
Will good or evil prevail? And will Asher and has seven man wolf pack be able to protect their beloved friend, Jolie?
I really enjoyed this novel and can't wait to read the next fairytale retelling from the author. I highly recommend this book, and all this author's books, to everyone! They're wonderful and will entertain you for hours!
My favorite quotes:
"I know for a fact that I've long since fallen in love with you. My heart won't have it any other way, little witch."
"Ever since I met Asher, he'd consumed my thoughts, my heart...my soul."
"In all honestly, we felt so natural together--like we were specifically made for each other."
"Jo, you can't live life being frightened all the time. If you do, you're not really living."
As with the style of this collection of stories, Trapt is the modern twist of Snow White by Rene Folsom. I can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoy this collection of stories and the author’s creative and sexy way of reinventing these beloved tales for adults.
Jolie is a good witch with a wicked twin sister, Melanie. Asher, a wolf, and his 6 other wolf-y brothers, end up being cared for by Jolie after he visits her shop looking for a way to help his sleepy brother. A series of bad events happen to Jolie (caused by her jealous evil sister) and she eventually figures out that her wicked sister is the reason for all of the bad luck. The “guys” help Jolie, and Asher and her fall for each other.
The author weaves such a creative tale with these stories. Without giving away too much of the story, I will say that if you enjoy a good paranormal story, but are tired of the same old story, you definitely need to read this book!
My Rating: 4 Stars
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
It's worth 5 stars and more! I love Rene Folsom's twist on the wonderful classic fairytale Snow White. Jolie, the good witch becomes introduced to a mysterious stranger. Needing to help a friend, the stranger seeks her out for her magic and ever since then everrything began to go downhill for the good witch as her evil twin intervenes. This all occurs as Mardi Gras is near. She must try and defeat her twin in a magcal battle otherwise everything and everyone she loves, would be destroyed. I absolutly loved Rene Folsom's triilogy of books based off of classical fairytales. They were all very wonderful and enticing tales. I've actually read each several times by now honestly....a magical tale that you'll enjoy over and over again.
I got an ARC of Trapt from the author for an honest review... It is now available for only $2.99 or free for Kindle Unlimited users I am a huge fan of Rene Folsom and I love this darker retelling of Snow White. Jolie is a witch. She keeps her powers mostly in check from a dark event in her past. Her twin sister Melanie has no problem in letting her powers be used as she is evil, brought out from the dark event in their past. Asher comes to Jolie one day seeking her help. She agrees to help him and bond is forged between her and his pack. The retelling of Snow White with the werewolves is just awesome. I love how the pack is there to keep Jolie safe from Melanie. But eventually things turn. This book is recommended for 18+ as there is some sexual scenes and language.
So once again Rene Folsom has taken on retelling another fairy tale, and its leaves you amazed! Seriously is there nothing the woman can do???
Trapt is a retelling on the classic Snow White, and even though the general outline of the story is there, Rene has twisted and turned and changed details to make it modern and fresh and leaving you wanting to know more! I absolutely loved Jolie and Ash, and would love to know what the future held for them and if they would ever get a happily ever after.
I loved this story! Each of Rene’s retellings had gripped me and even though Trust was my TOP fav, this came in a close second. SO GOOD. I love a good witch tale.
This was a wicked twist on the telling tale of Snow White. Take the tale you thought you knew and mix in same wolves and witches and we have the mixings for an interesting night. Asher our hunky male and Jolie our witch are on a mission. Well, kinda. You have no idea, this story takes you on a wild ride. Evil sisters and impish friends. What else do you think this story could have in store for you? Jump in and find out!
This book is an awesome continuation of this series! It’s a different twist on the Snow White story! The concept of evil versus good, and 7 big men instead of little dwarfs. Jolie is the good witch & she’s working with Asher together to fight the evil forces. The author is wonderfully able to reinvent Snow White with a paranormal twist to keep you wanting more! I definitely recommend this series.
This is an amazing twist on Snow White. I loved the unique nature of every character while still hinting at bits a pieces of the original idea. A wonderful surprise of a read.
I thought this would be a lot longer and a little more edgier. I will check out another bad see if the tale is more twisted then this, not really dark like I thought it would be and not enough magic at all!
