it's incomplete, for starters, and if one person was put in the hospital that many times in such short amount of time irl, the cops would have been investigating and ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT. They have created this cycle of lies and angst that are just going to keep cycling based on bs reasons. Angry I spent any money on this book.

Stilted and overly formal dialogue. Transitions to different scenes are very abrupt. And literally everyone is slapping everyone! Clark slaps his mistress across the face. Nyla slaps the mistress too. Then another woman slaps Nyla. It reads like a bad Jerry Springer episode.
And how many times can one woman end up in the hospital? She’s attacked with sulfuric acid via a plot from a supposed former friend, that same person orchestrated her kidnapping after that, a business trip turns into her being drugged and nearly raped (because she couldn’t be bribed. What?!) and she’s almost raped by a stalking co-worker.
It’s like worst kind of soap opera all jammed into one. And she’s still with her asshole husband to try to uncover some long ago plot. She hired an investigator for that. Just beyond dumb.
And several chapters into the book (at chapter 122 but seems like every chapter is one page) she’s still married to Clark. Not the uncle - so the title is misleading.

It suddenly ended. What happened? I gave it a 3 because the ending doesn’t make sense. Is there going to be another sequel?

not happy
The book was a good read but it didn’t have an ending. I dislike books like this. So disappointed after reading it for days.
