One chance to rewrite their story.

On the eve of his retirement from the NHL, Ty Hudson met a woman he never forgot—and lost her just as quickly. One night. Instant sparks. Terrible timing.

Three years later, Ty is back in Linwood, building a life that feels smaller than the one he planned—coaching the Mayhem Hockey Club, tending a rescue farm full of misfits, and loving the eight-year-old next door like she’s his own.

Then Daisy Winslow comes crashing back into his world.

Daisy never expected to return to Linwood heartbroken and grieving, desperate to hold on to the only family she has left. The last thing she’s prepared for is Ty—the man she never truly moved on from—or the way her niece Junie already adores him.

That spark reignites, even as grief makes everything heavier. Daisy is barely holding herself together. Ty is risking his heart—for her, and for the family he never knew he wanted.

But this time, he isn’t walking away.

Made for Mayhem is a second-chance small-town hockey romance featuring single guardian, forced proximity, found family, and all the heart.

"Meanwhile, my own life resembled a burning dumpster rolling down a hill with a feral raccoon hanging on the side. If it weren't for Diet Coke, cherry candy, and denial, my emotional infrastructure would collapse faster than a house of cards."

Made for Mayhem is book two in Aimee Vance's Mayhem Hockey Club series. It follows retired pro hockey player Ty Hudson as he fosters Junie, a young girl who has recently lost her mother. When Junie's aunt Daisy arrives to assume guardianship, Ty and Daisy are surprised to realize they met years earlier. Custody arrangements and battling grief lead all three to forming a family they never thought they could ever have.

Made for Mayhem is heartbreakingly beautiful. It takes you on an emotional rollercoaster as Daisy and Junie struggle with the loss of Violet, and Ty tries to hold them all together. As you might imagine grief in all of its forms play a major role in this story. Vance masterfully weaves the heartache with moments of love, laughter, and family. I spent much of the story in tears, so I recommend having a box of tissues handy.

Daisy's world is unraveling, and in the midst of her life falling apart she finds herself living with a man she's hasn't been able to forget for three years and taking care of her niece. What she doesn't have time for is her own grief. Daisy's zest for life, for finding the fun is how she knows how to survive. She's the light that Junie and Ty need, but at the expense of herself. Watching her finally break is one of the most emotional moments of the story. You can't help but love Daisy, and it's easy to see why Ty is so smitten.

Ty! My grumpy young Tom Selleck look-a-like with the biggest, squishiest, marshmellowiest heart. The steady heartbeat of the Mayhem family, whose capacity for love and family is never ending. Who needs someone to choose him like he chooses everyone else. I'm tearing up just typing this. This man. Sorry to say, Blazey boy, move on over. Ty is now my top Vance MMC of all time.

Vance always comes through with my favorite trope, found family, and this story is no exception. The family that Daisy, Ty, and Junie build with their menagerie of animals and support of the Mayhem crew is so lovely. The laughs, support, willingness to drop everything to show up when needed makes my heart so happy. Beckett and Ty's banter, the ladies' pilates class, the set-ups for the next books in the series! It's all so good, and makes this story so special.

If you'd like a nice list of things to look forward to in Made for Mayhem
-Grumpy x sunshine
-Foster dad x aunt
-Small town shenanigans
-80s Tom Selleck style 'stache and shorty short shorts
-The one that got away, so much yearning
-Forced proximity
-Caretaking and healing
-Found family
-Banter, banter, and more banter

It's no secret that I'm a fan of Aimee's work, but this story is extra special. It feels special reading it, and it's obvious that Vance put her whole heart into telling Ty, Daisy, and Junie's story. You don't have to read Moms of Mayhem to enjoy this one, but I think it's best to do so. This is an incredible series that I can't stop recommending! Be sure to check out Made for Mayhem starting March 27th. You won't want to miss it!

"You save puppies and grow mustaches? Dangerous combination, Huddy."

"Who better to teach Junie how to dance in the rain?"

"You'll be okay, Piggie...Ty's good at taking care of us."

"You keep thinking you have to earn it somehow- love, worth, a place to belong. But you don't, Ty...You're enough. You always were."

Thanks to Aimee Vance and House of Hearts for the gifted copy — all opinions are my own.

I loved the first Moms of Mayhem book from Aimee Vance and the second one blew any expectations i had out of the water. I was so excited to read Ty’s story, as i fell in love with his grumpy, stoic self in the first book. But i was unprepared about how much I was going to love him. This book starts following Ty, Emmy’s older brother on the night of his retirement from the NHL. No bells and whistles, no celebrations with championship wins, just a season ending without fanfare and that matches Ty’s parents not showing up for him again. Emmy was stuck with Jace’s competition and only didn’t make it because her parents promised to go. This is how we were introduced to Ty - someone who does everything for everyone, always there but no one showing up for him when he needs it.

Then he meets Daisy - his polar opposite, a ray of sunshine, new to Chicago - her first night and she has no idea who he is. She’s lost, lonely and they both latch on to each other in a weird truth or dare battle on the Chicago streets. It is a night of kismet, where they reveal secrets they wouldn’t tell anyone else, because they know they only have one night. Ty is relocating the next day and Daisy just moved. They share a perfect night where each recognizes the other on some level as their soulmate, but neither pushes forward.

Fast forward 3yrs … we’re now in present day, right around where Book 1 ended. Junie the little girl who was Ty’s shadow and stole our hearts in book 1’s mother Violet died. She’s alone and Ty was with her and in preparation went through the steps to be certified as a foster parent. The same time Daisy gets a call in Chicago where life is terrible but she’s trying to make the best of it. After losing her apartment and job in the span of an hour, she gets a call that her sister Violet passed. Kismet happens again as she races home to her niece Junie and meets with Huddy - Ty Hudson. Both are floored to see each other again. In Violet’s will she directed that both Daisy and Ty have joint custody of Junie, and the court upholds this until Daisy can get her feet under her/house repaired/gets a job.

Ty is terrified he’s not only going to lose the little girl he loves, but also Daisy, the woman he’s thought about for the last 3 years. Daisy is worried she’s going to screw it all up and won’t be enough for Junie - and isn’t deserving of Ty. They meander the summer navigating their new dynamic, grief, and what family looks like. Peppered throughout this summer as Daisy tries to pull everything together are letters left by Violet along the way, predicting Daisy’s behavior and giving that big sister advice she needs to hear, even from beyond.

The moments of Violets letters were gut punches in the best way. I cried so many times in this book - just beautiful demonstration of love, navigating grief, and real true emotions. Ty and Daisy (and Junie) weaved their way into my heart in the best ways.

The cast of characters along the way also led to the found family of the little town, and that you can choose family, and choose your happy even in the darkest of times. The menagerie of farm animals and pets allowed for comic relief needed to break some of the tension during this read. This HEA felt fulfilling and complete. I loved this book and looking forward to the next in the series!

“Ty’s love wasn’t loud. It wasn’t dramatic or overwhelming. It didn’t burn hot and bright like the lightning outside. But he was my lighthouse in the storm, the beacon calling me home.”

✔️foster dad
✔️small town hockey coach MMC x event planner FMC
✔️she’s the one who got away
✔️grumpy x sunshine
✔️grief and healing
✔️found family
✔️no 3rd act breakup

I will just say upfront, this book is excellent and easily a contender for one of my favorites this month (and year if I’m being honest). I loved Moms of Mayhem, the first book in the series, but Ty (MMC) and Daisy (FMC)’s story is just so special and I think they may be my new favorite. This is the kind of book that has you smiling, swooning, laughing, and then sobbing in just a few pages. There is a lot of sadness and grief here, but also healing. Ty and Daisy are obviously soulmates from the start, but after a night spent together exploring the city, they go their separate ways and don’t see each other again for three years. They reconnect when Daisy finds out her sister has passed and her niece, Junie, is being cared for by Ty (and he is her sister’s neighbor). Ty takes care everyone around him so it’s no surprise he stepped up when Junie’s mom got sick, but Daisy is shocked that the man who is holding everything together is the man she once wondered if he could be her everything. Their original “ending” wasn’t angsty or dramatic, just a classic “one that got away” situation.

I love that this book doesn’t shy away from the hard. We see Daisy deal with her grief and the waves of emotion as they come. She doesn’t want to feel anything sad so she doesn’t, until she can’t outrun it any longer. Ty is always there to make sure she has a safe space to feel her emotions and that he will never leave her, even when she feels that she is “too much”. His love is gentle and patient, a steady constant that she desperately needs while everything else is falling apart. When the tables turn and he needs someone, she is that person for him. She is the sunshine to his grumpy (he isn’t really all that grumpy anymore but that’s because she’s back in his life), the one who is willing to dance when things get hard and play truth or dare with a stranger. Though things are definitely tense at times with custody hearings and thinking about the future, I love that their relationship never becomes toxic and they meet each other right where they are.

I didn’t just cry when/because of sad scenes, I also cried when things were really beautiful. There is one particular scene (that I won’t spoil) that brings things full circle from the night they met that is just perfection because it proves that Daisy really sees Ty. Watching their family continue to grow and evolve into the future was so heartwarming, and though their story is definitely complete as-is I would 100% read another book with these main characters because I just love them together so much.

Ty—Huddy, Hudson—has just played his last NHL game and isn’t sure what comes next. On the night of his retirement, he meets a mysterious woman starting over in Chicago.

Daisy is new to the city and completely lost when Ty comes to her rescue. They spend one unforgettable night together, exploring the city and playing truth or dare—but by morning, Ty walks away, leaving behind one of his biggest regrets… and Daisy’s too.

Three years later, Daisy’s life in Chicago falls apart. After losing her job and apartment, she’s hit with devastating news: her sister, Violet, has passed away. With nothing left tying her to the city, Daisy returns home to care for her eight-year-old niece, Junie.

When she arrives, she’s shocked to find Ty already there—now a pillar of the community, rescuing animals and coaching the Mayhem hockey team.

With temporary custody of Junie, Daisy and Ty must navigate grief, family court, and rebuilding a life—all while facing the undeniable connection they left behind.

This time… will they finally choose each other?

I was hooked by the cover of this book! Then I read the synopsis and knew I was going to love this story and this author—and I was not disappointed.

This is one of the most beautiful stories of second chances, soulmates, found family, and small-town romance I’ve ever read. I instantly fell in love with Ty and Daisy.

I felt everything while reading—joy, love, hope, and heartbreak. Violet’s letters had me in tears at times, but they added so much depth to her relationship with Daisy and Ty. Without them, it would have been difficult to fully grasp the love she had for Junie, Daisy, Ty, and the town of Linwood. Have your tissues ready for those moments—there are plenty of others that will get you too, especially the way Ty shows up for everyone in his life.

I also loved how this story focused on life after professional sports. So many sports romances stay in the “during,” but this one explores the “after,” and it brought a fresh, emotional perspective to the genre.

And the farm animals!! Not only is Ty rescuing his neighbors, but also a whole crew of misfit animals—a three-legged dog, a one-eyed llama, a baby pot-bellied pig, and an ill-tempered rooster. Their names are both meaningful and hilarious.

I’m so excited for the third installment in the Mayhem Hockey Club series. It’s already preordered, and the countdown to February 2027 has officially begun!!

Thank you to Aimee Vance and House of Hearts for the gifted copy— all opinions are my own.

While I love everything Aimee writes, I wasn’t sure how much I’d adore her second hockey romance, as I’m typically a Romantasy girly, but man does this book hit. It’s going to sound weird knowing the premise, but it’s just a feel good book.

Ty is one of the best MMC’s I’ve ever read. He is steadfast in his love for both Junie and Daisy, creating the sturdy foundation of their eclectic family. He so much reminds me of my husband, which I never see in MMC’s, and this quote just hits home “He wasn’t loud with his affections. He wasn’t flashy or demanding. He was constant. And with each passing day, I was coming to realize just how special that was.” This is why I fell in love with my husband, and why I adore Ty as a MMC.

Daisy on the other hand, lives life to the fullest being unapologetically herself. She dances in the street and makes messy art happily. Despite the grief she is navigating, she works through her struggles to continue to show up for Junie in every way she can.

And Junie, sweet, smart, full of ridiculous stats Junie. She truly makes the story. Seeing Brief glances of her in Moms of Mayhem to being the center of this book, she really blossoms. She made me tear up with *that* comment and you could just tell she meant it with her whole heart.

It would be remiss to write this review and not mention the animals. Aimee is always hysterical but her naming of the farm animals gets me every time. Piggie Smalls may be the best thing ever.

This book embodies grief in what I believe to be a super realistic way. Sometimes it catches you off guard when you go to send a text and realize you can’t, other times it steam rolls you and you can’t remember how to breathe. It was so well written and that’s all I have to say on that.

And once again, the Moms of Mayhem show up. The accept Daisy without trying to change her or making her feel like an outsider, despite being super new to the crew. They show up, and they show up hard whenever she’s in need. The love Junie and Ty and by extension, Daisy is one of their own.

Overall I loved this book - the desperate feelings as a parent, the goofiness of the Mayhem kiddos and their love for Junie, the grief, the love, and everything else was just perfect. I only wish it were longer!

Oh, and you can’t forget Rowdy! He’s just the goodest boy!

Smirking in public, kicking your feet under the covers, AND clutching your heart is what you're getting here! 😭💖

First of all - I'm such a sucker for a serendipitous “What are you doing here in my hometown?!” kinda moment. What starts as a random meeting turns into something so much more important, and I was immediately ALL IN for our sweet Juniper. Ty (Huddy) and Daisy though? Stop it right now. The 'almost getting caught' is one of my favorite kinds of yearning scenes, and I LOVE them together! (P.S. BIG fan of age gaps in real life and this one felt so natural!)

While I loved the sweet parts, there are also some seriously tear-jerking moments. If you have a sister you adore like I do - you've been forewarned. Watching Ty & Daisy navigate loss, huge life changes, and suddenly stepping into de facto parent mode? My heart was in a constant state of 🥺💔➡️💞

I’m not kidding when I say I didn’t want to skim a single word—I was SAT and fully emotionally invested. 💋 ... As in I read this in the wee hours of this morning when I should have been asleep because my 4-month-old was actually asleep!

✨ found family feels

This is an arc review, I was given the ebook by House of Hearts Lit and Aimee Vance in exchange of my honest review of the book ✨

This book is absolute perfection and it cemented itself as one of my favorite books ever. Having met Ty in Moms of Mayhem (book 1 of the series) and seeing some of his parental relationship towards Junie had established a sense of him being a good man but this book confirmed it and how selfless he is with his love.

Ty Hudson is one of my favorite MMCs ever after reading this book and it’s not often that I get to read a book in which one of the main characters did something that frustrated me and I wanted to speak up in their fiction world. Made for Mayhem is one of the exceptions. It’s profound in its depiction of grief, of healing and of love in every way possible.

Daisy’s character is, in a way, the saying of still waters run deep. She portrays a very sunshine character who has a vast emptiness filled with the loss of her sister Violet. Her process of grief is one that a lot of us readers have lived through and I won’t lie, I cried a lot during this book but it felt like a purging.

Junie’s character is written in such a loving and realistic way that it’s like she’s popping out of the pages with her cuteness and also her own grief process.

Everything in this book is utter perfection and I’m so grateful that I was able to read this arc and share this opinion with whoever is scrolling. This book has clear trigger warnings when it comes to loss but it also feels like someone squeezing your hand and making you feel something when you’re deep in the numbness of loss, if that makes sense to anyone. It’s the squeeze that lets you know you’re not alone and that you’re seen.

I have no spoilers, not a thing I’d change. It’s a book I’ll reread and will recommend without a doubt.

Thank you House of Hearts and Aimee Vance for the arc✨

This book completely stole my heart in the best way.

Made for Mayhem by Aimee Vance is the kind of second chance romance that hits you right in the chest and makes you feel everything. From the very first page, I was pulled into Ty and Daisy’s story and I did not want to leave their world.

Ty Hudson is everything I love in a book boyfriend. He is strong, steady, and so full of quiet heart. Watching him step into this softer life after the NHL, caring for a rescue farm and loving that little girl next door like his own, just melted me. There is something so special about a man who shows up in the small, everyday ways, and Ty does that effortlessly.

And Daisy. My heart ached for her. She comes back to Linwood carrying so much grief and trying to hold it together for her niece, and you can feel the weight of that in every moment. Her strength felt real and raw, and I loved how the story gave her space to heal without rushing her.

The chemistry between Ty and Daisy is undeniable from the start, but what made this story so beautiful is how it unfolds the second time around. It is not just about the spark. It is about timing, growth, and choosing each other when life feels messy and uncertain. Their connection felt deeper, more grounded, and so worth the wait.

And Junie. She absolutely stole the show. The bond between her and Ty was everything, and the found family element in this story was done so perfectly. It gave the book so much warmth and heart.

Aimee Vance created a small town that feels like home, filled with love, healing, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting. This story is tender, emotional, and full of hope.

Five stars without a doubt. This one will stay with me for a long time.

Oh, this was perfection in every way. Aimee Vance is such a talent and her writing makes me feel everything, and she continues to be such an unexpected, standout author for me. I didn’t think anything could top Moms of Mayhem, but this completely blew me away and is easily my new favorite.

I loved the twist on hockey romance here. Technically, it’s not your typical sports romance since Ty retires right at the beginning, but with him coaching the local team, it still keeps that connection. What I really appreciated is that hockey isn’t the main focus. This story leans much more into romance, healing, and the complexities of building a life after loss, and it does it so beautifully.

Ty and Daisy are total opposites, but they’re tied together by one thing that matters most: Junie. Their meet cute was so good, and I loved the second chance element with their three years apart before fate pulls them back together. Watching them navigate grief, love, and this unexpected family dynamic absolutely hit me on every level, and I found myself tearing up. The lengths they both go to in order to give Junie a stable, loving life, even as unlikely guardians, was just everything.

And the animals! I loved that detail so much. Ty being completely incapable of saying no and slowly building this chaotic little rescue farm was so endearing and added such a warm, comforting layer to the story.

That epilogue was what REALLY made me cry. It was so perfectly fitting for them and just wrapped everything up in the most satisfying, emotional way. I loved their future so much.

I loved genuinely everything about this book, and I cannot wait for the next one in the series!

ARC review

"Made for Mayhem" by Aimee Vance is the second book in the "Mayhem Hockey Club" series.
Even if this can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading "Moms of Mayhem" first.

Thank you House of Hears Lit for the gifted eARC.
Opinions from this review are completely my own.

This is an example of series where the first book is good and the second one is even better.
Even if the gorgeous cover hints to a sweet small town romance, this book will make you emotional and it deals with grief.

What you can expect:
- small town
- grumpy/ sunshine
- foster dad/aunt
- second chance (the one that got away)
- found family
- a lot of animals
- working through grief and healing
- slow burn
- banter
- age gap (10 years)

I love Aimee's writing and I think that this one of her best books.
We have Ty (Huddy), who is Emmy's brother and a former hockey player.
He met Daisy three years ago and could not get over her even if they only spent a night together (talking).
Now Daisy is coming back to Linwood to take care of her niece Junie and finds out that Ty is her foster dad.

This is an emotional book and my favorite part is the found family.
Daisy was received so well by the town and especially by the Moms of Mayhem. They accept her as she is and help when needed.
Also, Ty and Junie make her part of the family from the start.

The slow burn of the relationship was so well written and there is such a good balance between the banter, emotional and physical side of it.
Ty has so much love for Daisy and Junie and is a good man.

Junie is a sweet little girl that disserves all the best in the world.

If you did not read anything by Aimee before, start with this series and you won't regret it.

This book blew me away for the emotional depth about grief while being able to maintain the cutest small town romance and foster parent storyline. Ive never cried so many times reading a book and honestly thats saying a lot from someone who usually doesnt cry more than once while reading.

First, for my sister who will read this review - you can never die. You are now immortal, you're welcome.

"You show kids that joy isnt frivolous,  its survival"
Daisy (fmc) only has her sister, Violet for most of their lives. Eventually she also gains a neice, Junie who is so intelligent, witty and really special. When Daisy finds out her sister died and leaves Chicago for the small town in Colorado where they used to spend summers together, she is met with more history than she could have anticipated.

Ty (mmc) moved to Linwood after leaving the NHL three years ago. That same night he meets a woman who he has been dreaming of ever since. Daisy comes back into his life as he is taking on his neighbors daughter (Junie) as a foster daughter.

Daisy and Ty make sharing custody work while also falling back in love and dealing with grief, fear, and finding happiness in the most difficult times.

I knew this book would break me as soon as the baby pig (piggy smalls) joins the family after losing its mom. Ive never cried over a pig before but the way Ty can send a message to his loved ones through talking about someone/something else was really impressive.

The part that hit me hardest was the tiny note from Violet. She was so positive and clear in every other note up to that point and hearing her doubt herself and wishing she could just hug her sister one last time broke me.

I loved this story and am so glad I found this series!

What a sweet and heartfelt story this was. Ty Hudson is a hockey player and has played his final game. With no family there to support him he decides to take a walk. He meets Daisy Winslow, who just moved to the city, and they spend the night hanging out. They had an instant connection, but Ty was moving away the next day so they didn’t exchange numbers. The book picks up 3 years later with Ty taking custody of his late friends 8 year old daughter, Juniper, and waiting for Junie’s aunt to come back to town. It’s to Ty’s great surprise that the aunt is Daisy, and they’ve been reunited.

Ty’s love for Junie was so evident, it just melted my heart. He was so good with her, and I loved that he took grief counseling classes to try and help June after her mother passed away. I really liked that Daisy saw how important Ty was to Junie, and wasn’t insistent on taking her away. Daisy’s method of avoiding grief felt real and raw. It was heartbreaking when it finally hit her.

Ty and Daisy were so good together though, and when Ty finally let Daisy take care of him for once that made me so happy. I love the found family aspect of the book, it was a wonderful cast of characters. I haven’t read the first book in the series but plan on doing so, as well as the next one that comes out. I want to thank House of Hearts Lit and Aimee Vance for the copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to leave a review.

✨ARC Review✨

Made for Mayhem is the second book in the Mayhem Hockey Club series and one amazing read. From the moment I encountered Ty in the first book, I felt an immediate attraction to his character and was eager to learn more about him. Little did I realize that Made for Mayhem would have me completely enamored with him. If there’s anyone who embodies a walking, breathing green flag, it’s Ty Hudson. I adored every aspect of him, particularly his unwavering steadiness and reliability towards those around him. Yet, Ty wasn’t the only highlight of this book; the theme of found family and the seamless way their bond developed was equally captivating. I found myself in tears about three times, but my heart was also filled with joy as I witnessed how Ty, Daisy, and Junie transformed into a powerful family unit. Aimee’s storytelling struck a perfect balance, illustrating that amidst sadness and grief, one can also discover healing, joy, and love. She demonstrated that you don’t need a fantastical setting, grand battles, or unexpected plot twists to fall deeply in love with a story and its characters, becoming utterly obsessed with them. Most importantly, I cherished the connection and relationship between Ty and Junie, and how effortlessly they created their own little world of love. In short, I could rave endlessly about how this book was precisely the remedy I needed. If you enjoy a second-chance small-town romance with found family and a lot of heart, I cannot stress enough how essential it is for you to pick this one up.

Ty and Daisy with a little June bug on the side :)

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This one hit real close to home for me having just lost my mom not even 6 months ago but in a good way. Our FMC is portrayed exactly how I’m feeling and also not feeling and that’s hard to describe in words but Aimee did it.

Daisy sweet young Daisy was adventurous, brave, and soulful. Ty was hardened by life, strong willed, and a bit cynical. I really loved the depth of their devotion from the beginning of our present day. Junie was sad, smart, and strong willed but so important in getting out characters on the same page.

This book was so good I finished it in just 5 hours of straight reading time. I keep finding out things I wasn’t expecting and feeling things that made me crave more(laughing till I choked multiple times). Some of our plot was unique and set it above other books in the sense that you don’t think about real life scenarios( the ones no one talks about anyway) being included in a book as a part of the story but it made it feel that much more real.

Daisy and Junie went through something that unfortunately is a huge part of life and it’s depicted in a tasteful and real way in their story. Ty was the back bone and flood gatekeeper that they both needed to keep them grounded and loved.

I can’t wait to read about Shannon in the next one she’s always so mysterious!!!

Wow wow wow!! This book was everything. From the very beginning I was drawn in. When Ty and Daisy first met, I think i fell in love with both of them! Ty is a thoughtful, selfless, big and strong manly kind of man. Daisy is our curvy queen who is initially full of life and spunk. When the tragedy of Violet’s passing brings Daisy back into Ty’s life you could feel the emotional and physical tension that was going to bloom between them and I was here for every second of it! There is a lot of self reflection and growth that we see on the pages for both Ty and Daisy. I feel like they both have the personality of wanting to be ok by themselves and being the one to rescue other people all the time but they both need rescuing. Their relationship feels intentional in how they treat each other and how they show up for each other and i really appreciated that.

I loved the brotherly banter between all the men in this series and i especially love the found family! I just thought this was such a beautiful story of grief, finding love through grief, letting yourself rely on others and accept their help. The foster/adoption aspect was beautiful as well and the parts where Daisy, Ty, and June had to pull themselves through their pain had me sobbing.

Thank you to Aimee for the chance to read this amazing story. Five well deserved stars!

First and foremost, thank you to the author and House of Hearts for allowing me to read this story early, in exchange for an honest review.

REVIEW:

I...ate this up. I binged it in under 24 hours. Stayed up till like 2am reading. The writing was so addictive, and short chapters...eek. I love those 2 things about a book. This book brought the biggest smile on my face. I genuinely smiled for at least 75% of this book. I haven't read the first book, although now, I'm tempted to as I'm curious about those 2 characters. Well, 3 if we're being real. But, coming back to this story, it was a really good standalone. The single guardian trope was interesting because of the dynamics, but it didn't feel one-sided, if that makes sense. The complexity about each character, their character development, it was everything and more. Within the first few chapters, I wanted to give all the characters the biggest hugs. Daisy and Ty were just perfect for each other. Add Junie to the mix and it was just a beautiful ray of sunshine and comfort. The topic of grief was added in beautifully. The way Ty was there for both of his girls...gosh, we all need a Ty Hudson. Overall, a splendid read that I would recommend to anyone!

This series has me in a chokehold. I loved this book so much, and would gladly read a couple hundred more pages of Ty Daisy and Junie living their beautiful life. I can’t remember the last time I cried so much reading a book, but the love and joyful moments more than outweigh the heartbreak in the end. This one will definitely put me into a major book slump!
I knew Ty was a wonderful man after reading the first book, but getting to watch him be exactly what Junie and Daisy needed through their grief was so special. I loved how hard he worked to be ready for Junie when she needed him, and how quietly supportive he was of Daisy, allowing her the time and space she needed to handle things herself while also making sure to be there to help when she faltered.
Daisy was such a wonderful addition to this found family. Her determination to dance in the rain brought such a beautiful lightness to the story. She was exactly what Ty and Junie needed.
Junie continues to be one of my favorite characters, so sweet and smart and sassy and I love her with all of the animals!
I absolutely cannot wait to read the next book in this series. Thank you so much to Aimee for the chance to read this early, I am so grateful!

✨ ARC Book Review ✨

“I’m staying for you. For us. This— whatever messy, beautiful forever looks like— I want it. All of it.”

The Mayhem Hockey Club series has my heart. This second book exceeded all my expectations! The emotions I felt while reading this book will have be in a book slump for days! This story was soooooo good!!! Add Ty to the top ten book boyfriend list. The way he cares for little Junie with no questions asked. We also love a little soulmate, second chance trope. My heart aches for Daisy and everything she was going through. The letters that were left from her sister Violet crushed me in the best way. I’m so sad this book is over. I could keep on reading about the life of Ty, Daisy and Junie forever. Aimee, you out did yourself with this one and I’m so so excited for book three!

As previously mentioned, this is an unapologetic Aimee Vance stan account. I've read and purchased every one of her books and I think she just keeps getting better and better! This particular book brought me to both tears and laughter over and over and even though I binged it in one day, I didn't want to leave my friends behind when I finished it! Ty is the ultimate book boyfriend and protective older brother, but the way that he steps up as a foster dad has my heart forever. The fact that he got certified and then went to all the grief counseling classes proactively was such a heart-warming/wrenching fact. Daisy was so relatable in her sorrow but also in her resilience, and I adored how Emmy and the women from the first book of the series just folded her into their crew. The way everyone in town stepped up for Daisy,Ty, and Junie and no one stood in their way was so lovely. I literally could go on and on and on... This series has my whole heart and will be in my forever recommendation list!

It’s not often I read a book by a new author and am absolutely blown away. This book grabbed my heart crushed it and put it back together. (Read the trigger warnings)
Ty/Huddy had his last NHL game before retiring and it went with a whimper more than a bang. Daisy has just made it to Chicago and is lost. After a chance encounter a game of truth and dare they part, Ty back to his hometown.
For three years they pine each other until tragedy brings Daisy back into his life along with her niece Juniper.
Ty appears to be there for her niece along with a motley crew of misfit animals. They seem to have temporary joint custody of Juniper.
With the help of the Mayhem crew and Ty’s sister and best friend help Daisy find her family again.
When they both say they’ve thought about each other every day. Their relationship grows but grief is lurking just a moment away. Definite PS I Love You vibes.
This is beautiful and a definite must read with tissues at the ready.
The epilogue is just perfect.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Ok this did not disappoint.
Made For Mayhem is the second book in the Mayhem Hockey Club series. It follows retired pro hockey player Ty Hudson as he fosters a young girl named Junie who recently lost her mother. When Junie’s Aunt Daisy arrives to assume guardianship both Ty and Daisy realize they met years earlier but custody arrangements and battling grief leads all three of them to become a family they never thought would happen.

This will definitely have you in the feels. Made For Mayhem was an absolutely beautiful story that will take you on an emotional roller coaster as daisy and Junie struggle with the loss of violet. As daisy’s life falls apart she didn’t realize she will be living with the man she met three years ago who she never could forget.
I loved how Ty was there for daisy and Junie and how they build a life for the three of them. The chemistry between Ty and Daisy was absolutely outstanding and was undeniable from the start. I also loved the story gave her space to heal without rushing her.
This without a doubt was one of my favorites from Aimee Vance.

Made of Mayhem is the second installment in the series. For a richer experience, it’s advisable to start with the first book to grasp the background and understand the key characters in the story. This narrative delves deeply into themes of grief, highlighting that healing is not a linear process; there will be both good days and bad days. It's an emotional and beautifully crafted tale.

Daisy, encouraged by her older sister, moves to Chicago to carve out a life of her own. However, she feels nervous and apprehensive about this new chapter. Fortunately, she encounters someone else who also seeks to escape the loneliness of home.

Ty, wrapping up his final game, feels the sting of disappointment as none of his family is present for support. Hurt and searching for joy, he decides to leave Chicago in pursuit of something that brings him happiness. During this journey, he meets a girl who suggests playing truth or dare while enjoying a cheeseburger with mayo.

Oh wow, just wow! I laughed, I cried, I blushed and I rooted for the characters so badly!
This was such an amazing take on second chance romance, but without any drama - the character simply met in the wrong time in their lives and needed 3 year to pass, to meet again.
I loved the slow burn, the process of opening up and learning to be vulnerable by the other person, building trust, letting themselves need each other. It was just perfect.
And don't get me started on all the great side characters - the heartwarming family (both blood and found) bonds, the support, the bickering and all the fun. I highly recommend reading it as a part of the series to get the best experience.

But please keep in mind that this story is heavily focused on grief and healing, so - even though I think it's written in such a wonderfully sensitive way - it can be triggering for some.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Thank you so much to Aimee Vance for an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

If you enjoy second chance romance, the one who got away, banter, age gap, foster dad, and rescue animals, this is your book!!

This is book 2 in Moms of Mayhem series, while it does stand alone, you will enjoy Made for Mayhem so much more by reading Moms of Mayhem first. We continue to follow characters and couples established in Moms of Mayhem. The hockey team is back (both the kids and the adult friends) in the found family banter we all love. Add in the cutest rescue animals with names that made me laugh out loud. A trigger warning that there is some heavy grief discussed in this book, due to the loss of a sibling. Aimee doesn't shy away from her characters' pain which I really appreciated. I love these characters, this town, this small little world. The tease for book 3 is super fun and I can't wait to get my hands on it later this year. A must read for lovers of romance.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25

This book is a deeply emotional read. While this does have some sweet romance and an adorable meet cute (then lose contact for a few years), a large part of the book deals with grief and the people left behind trying to move on with their lives. MFC Daisy walks the thin tightrope of loss/grief and moving on while fighting the attraction to Ty. MMC Ty is dependable and steady and the perfect foil to freespirited Daisy. They are both left with raising Daisy's neice Juniper and the plot spins out from there. I loved how important fostering is to this book and how this is highlighted.

I really liked this book-it's a sad book but still a good read. I'm also really looking forward to the 3rd book in this series based on the Easter eggs planted in this one.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion etc.

Going back to Linwood felt like coming home and being back amongst the Mayhem was just as wonderful as the last time. Ty and Daisy's story was perfect, two opposites meeting in the middle. A gentle, steady warmth mixed with unapologetic chaotic beauty. The charming town vibes, the hockey, the found family and Easter eggs for what's to come... all of it perfect. This book is a bit heavier, dealing with grief is big in this one but it's done so beautifully and realistically. Anyone who's lost someone understands the rollercoaster that is grief. I laughed, I cried and swooned. SO GOOD and I'm always recommending this series to all my friends because it's just so wholesome in the best way. Book 2 did not disappoint.

Thank you, Aimee and House of Hearts for the early copy. I'm so excited for book 3!

All the freaking stars!!! ♾️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️♾️

Hands down one of my favourite reads of the year so far!

This is book two from Mayhem Hockey Club and it was fabulous!! I gobbled it up in less than 24 hours. Show me a better meet cute… I will wait.

Aimee Vance does cute, funny, grief, adorable kiddos, and smatter your heart growth all in one package. Plus a farm full of animal friends with the best names!

Ty will be everyone’s next favourite book boyfriend, but his stability and support he delivers in this book is extremely sweet and written so genuinely.

The plot pace was perfect, the growth of characters very believable and the ending was chef’s kiss.

My favourite quote- ‘Emotions are like the weather. Sometimes sunny, sometimes stormy. Both can happen at the same time and change just as fast.’

ARC Review!

Thanks to Aimee Vance and House of Hearts Lit for the chance to review this book. I will also preface this review by saying that I did not read the first book in this series (it didn't make a difference).

The FMC and MMC meet for one night, have a huge connection, and leave it hanging. Just to be unexpectedly reunited 3 years later after a death and now have to figure out custody of an 8 year old girl that they both love dearly.

The FMC struggles with her grief while also trying to hold her young niece up and falls in love with the MMC, who is the glue holding them both together.

Overall, this is not only a great love story but a beautiful telling of a family growing together. I also love the fostering angle that the characters take at the end of the book.
