Hope For Christmas was originally included in the holiday anthology Santa Wore Spurs. This novella launches The Cowboy Way series.
Cord Dixon, Mr. Laramie in the world of western clothing modeling, loses his job because he refuses to sleep with his female boss. Christmas is coming, and his bills are due, so he takes the only job he can find. A mall Santa. Socialite wedding photographer, Hope Carlisle’s life disintegrates when she ruins the wedding of the year. In one fell swoop, she loses her best friend, her business partner and her fiancé. Unemployed and needing a job fast, Hope takes a job as an elf photographer at the local mall. She is not looking forward to her new job, until she meets her sexy Santa. Individually, Hope and Cord’s lives seem to be a hopeless mess. But with the magic of Christmas in the air, they work together to reclaim their lives and find love in the process.

Cord was a former western clothing model who had lost his last gig because of his morels . So finds himself doing the only job he could find being a mall Santa.
Hope is a bit lost in life, being born into a very wealthy family then being cut off from that wealth due to a stipulation in her Grandmothers will. She is a photographer trying to get by and finds herself a job photographing Santa. So this is obviously where she meets Cord but it all goes differently to how you think it would.
"You need to be scared, Tinkerbell. Really scared. I've been peed on, punched, and set on fire. Mall security only goes so far, so just stay on your toes."
I was on the hunt for a quick Christmas smut filled read to get me in the festive spirit, I saw this and thought hot cowboy bring it!!
Unfortunately that is not what I got, it was just missing a bit more action. BUT
Fortunately that did not matter because it was a really good story, there were heaps of little twists and great characters to keep me entertained. So even though it was not the smut fix I was looking for I really enjoyed it for what it was.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Hope For Christmas by Becky McGraw is an additional novella added to the contemporary romance Cowboy Way series. One might take a peek at this cover and think um, no but the story was actually better than the cover suggested. Cord Dixon who was a male model gets fired when he turns down the boss so he gets desperate and takes on the job of mall Santa. Hope Carlisle also desperate for a job finds herself tackling the job of becoming an 'elf' photographer thus bringing the two together. Not amazing but better than I expected it to actually be.
Hope and Cord's lives are in bit of pickle, both are finding themselves in different but same kind of problem. With one resolution they each help the other finding something that neither of them expected...
A wonderful holiday tale that was well written and intriguingly enjoyable to treat to read. Loved the ending to a point, but as you read (this is non-spoiler review blog) towards the end your think that she...Yeah but the author never mentioned that and I was expecting an epilogue of some sort that was a few months later that info to be portrayed but it wasn't... Overall not bad, a real page turner.
If your looking for a great holiday read then this is one of them...
Becky McGraw gave us Hope and Cord for Christmas and what an amazing gift this book was! These two characters had me smiling, laughing, crying, screaming and clapping. They're the real deal. This book is all encompassing, absolute perfection and so much more than a Christmas story.
When you find a book that makes you feel like you're part of the family and you can see everything happen in your mind like a movie as you read... you know you've struck gold. This is why I love Becky McGraw's stories. Intense, gritty, sensual and exciting with every turn of the page.
Another case of "Don't judge a book by its cover!" If you're a fan of Christmas stories do yourself a favor and grab this one- it's a quick read, a novella that is a start to a new series. It's sweet and hot, and packs so much feeling, I just loved it!
Wow what a fabulous story to start a series. I just loved Hope For Christmas!!
I fell in love with Cord and Hope but I was also invested in the other characters, from his family to his selfless friends I felt myself drawn within the pages and feeling every emotion. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the rest of this series.
Confession time... This is my first Becky McGraw book........ and I loved it.
Cord and Hope, both meet as they are down on their luck, both out of work but meet when working as Santa and his Elf at the mall.
I enjoyed how the story developed their instant chemistry, although both were trying to fight the attraction.
The sizzling hot First kiss, paved the way for their underlying passion and it most certainly didn't disappoint.
Tough time with the news of Cord's papa and the reality of Cord leaving to pursue his modelling career and good on him for NOT taking the boss's daughter on her offer.
Hope seemed to be navigating life quite well on her own, with all the set backs she had endured, the failed business, the spineless boyfriend/fiance. She was worth so much more.
And she fount it, both their worth's they both understood how each other was feeling.
So when she decided to go all in, to help Cord and his family without getting much out of it, how very mistaken she was!
I loved seeing Cord's family begin to thaw against him.
Their marriage of convenience was never going to be a convenience type of thing. They both were the kind of people who could not do anything half hearted.
I loved broody Cord on their Wedding night, and also I think his friends were winding him up a little, which certainly added to the explosive wedding night - passion was first and foremost present, even if they both tried to tell themselves they were not going to get pulled in.
Oh my, when Cord opened Hope's gift, so sad they both had a hard time letting go, they had both gone full in - against their own rules.
I wanted to give 5 stars but felt the ending was unfinished - ended to abruptly. But can't wait to get my teeth into Dean's story. Loved Jeremy such a sweet lad.
I received a copy of this novella from the author in exchange for an honest review and here it is.
Cord Dixon's modeling career with Laramie jeans came to a sudden end when he refused to service the owner's daughter and since his family disapproved of his choice to leave the ranch 3 years ago, he's not welcome back at their home. Instead, he's had to take a job as a shopping mall Santa when he meets Hope, who is at the mall to take photographs of children with Santa. Neither of them wants to be there, and when Cord is nearly emasculated by an unruly child, Hope comes up with a great idea. Her friend is the marketing director for a rival jeans company, and loves Hope's idea--a Christmas calendar featuring hot, hunky cowboys. Hope and Cord return to the family ranch, only to discover that all is not well at the ranch, and the way they solve the many problems they face forms the backbone of this well-written Christmas story.
As is typical of Ms. McGraw's fiction, there's plenty of heat between the hero and heroine, some of it a tad kinky, and there's a HEA ending. My only complaint is that I wish we'd had a chance to see how well Cord was accepted by Hope's wealthy family, whom we hear about but never meet. Hopefully that will happen at some point in the future, since this novella is the beginning of a new series that this reader is eagerly anticipating.
Cord is a sexy cowboy/model who has lost his job & his way home. His agent finds him a Santa gig for Christmas, ugh! Not exactly where he thought he would be when he turned down his bosses sexual advances! Enter his new Christmas Elf. Hope has lost her business, fiancé & her family over a mistake. Hope & Cord are miserable with their lives and come up with a way to help each other. A Cowboy Calendar, with his rodeo buddies & his homestead ranch. Cord hasn't been home in the three years since he left, tensions are high & the ranch is crumbling! Hope makes a deal to marry Cord & get her inheritance to help with Cords fathers illness & repairs to the ranch. What happens when two people who aren't looking for love, make a deal not to fall in love? Read on, you won't be disappointed. This story was a great read with plenty of pent up frustration & a lot of getting to know one another!
Cord is down on his modeling luck. Hope is broke and needs income. She really needs a husband before she turns 26 so she will inherit millions of dollars from her grandmother. It seemed so simple when they met. Get married and he can have some of the money. But when their feelings get involved, life takes a whole new turn.
Let's take a trip to a ranch in Texas. I love how Becky puts us right into the feel of ranch life. As you read you can smell the hay and other things. But mostly the sweet, fresh country air.
Cole and Hope have last ditch jobs at the Mall, as Santa and his photographer elf. However her first day becomes their last when a screaming child's antics pushes Cole beyond his limits.
Cole fires his agent, who is faithful to the client and blackballed Cole's modeling career. With no career he decides to tuck tail and return home where he belongs.
Hope lost everything, her best friend, her fiancé, her inheritance and her family when her camera malfunctioned at a socialite's wedding. The Mall elf job was to pay her rent, now she's lost that too. Then she comes up with an idea that would save her career, boost her friend Tina's company and launch Cole's career again if he chooses.
With the ranch falling apart, his dad sick and his brother distant from his son, Cole's return is like a slap in the face. Hope's initial idea falls to the wayside, but she offers up another way to make everything right for her, Cole and his family.
Cleaning the bunkhouse is the first order of business, then things start heating up in more ways than one, with family drama, and helpers from the rodeo, and Cole's nephew Jeremy caught in the middle of things he doesn't understand.
The only thing these two don't see coming is the love that sneaks up on them.
A story of family and hardship and the love that binds them together whether they like it or not.
The Cowboy Way is one of my favorite series and this is the first book of the series Guaranteed to hook you!
This was a wonderful book, especially for the holiday. It was so easy to get lost in the pages of Hope and Cord’s story from the first chapter to the last. There was a warm feeling of home wrapped in the pages of this story with well-written characters that felt real and a fun storyline full of family and heart. My interest was piqued in the beginning with Cord and Hope’s dilemmas and the lengths they went to to help each other out. Their attraction was electric and they made a great couple. They drew strength from each other and worked well together. Aside from a few bumps in the road they had a wonderful relationship that started out as strangers helping each other out and quickly developed into a relationship with so much potential. There were plenty of smiles and laugh out loud moments to balance the angst, turmoil, and gruff moments of the characters as well as several ‘awww’ moments and a few sniffles. If you are looking for a great ‘feel good’ holiday read, then this book is definitely for you. It encompasses a bit of everything and you will not be disappointed you gave it a try. An awesome start to a new series and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
Hope For Christmas is a great start to a new series. Cord Dixon and Hope Carlisle are both down on their luck, which explains why he is a model turned mall Santa and she is a photographer elf. Being a mall Santa is not all fun and games as Cord quickly finds out, but fighting the mutual attraction between these two is just as hard. This little novella is a quick and fun read, that will leave you wanting more. It is well written, the characters are believable and lovable, well most of the time. This one is loaded with romance, passion, family, trust, ups and downs, and just enough angst to keep it interesting. If you love romance with hot sexy cowboys and women who have a way of bringing those cowboys to their knees, then this book is definitely for you!!
This was an amazing story to kick off a brand new series by the wonderfully talented, Becky McGraw.
Hope and Cord are two characters that light up the pages and are easy to relate to and want all things good in their futures. I thoroughly enjoyed the entertaining dialogue and while these messed up individuals didn’t really need the complications of romance at this time in their lives, denying an attraction so combustible was never on the cards.
I know readers will absolutely love this couple and be as anxious as I am for the next fabulous instalment of the Cowboy Way.
This novella is the beginning of the Cowboy Way series and it features Cord and Hope. This story has great flow and their chemistry is rockin’! It wasn’t overly sappy but just right. His family issues were heartbreaking and the family dynamics felt so real. I wish we could have delved more into her family issues. Things happened quickly but that’s what happens in novellas.
This author writes some amazing cowboys and always keeps us coming back for more.
Fun and just what I needed for Christmas! Cord and Hope are a sweet couple with just enough heat between them to keep you interested. It was a heartwarming Christmas story without being same old, same old. The writing was great, and the characters grew on me quickly. I hated to see it end! If you are looking for a story to get you in the Christmas spirit, this is the one! Reviewed by Skylar
This is a sweet romance. Two strangers meet, working as Santa and an elf. He's an ex-model and she's trying to get over a huge business mistake. Their decision to try to help each other turns into something more.
A quick read just right for the holidays about Hope and Cord and also the start of a new series. As always Becky McGraw draws you right in from the very first work and keeps you there until the last word in the book!
Hope For Christmas: it was wonderful romance! Strong characters and lots of ups and downs. It had lot of emtions throughout the story! It was well written and I loved it!
Hope for Christmas is a sweet and sexy romance in the Cowboy Way series written by author Becky McGraw. Thanks to the author for the complimentary copy. Loved it.
I received this book as gift from the author to read. This was the first Becky McGraw book I have ever read. She is an excellent author and I am glad to add her to my new authors and her books as well.
I have not read a cowboy book in a long time and this one help jump start me into wanting to read more. Hope For Christmas was a nice little Novella. I usually prefer longer books because I am never ready for the story to end. And this books was another added to the list that I was just not ready to end. I admit it I wanted more. :)
Cord Dixon - ex bull rider - and Well know Jean model for Laramie Jeans. Hope Carlisle - Socialite - Photographer

And he runs in to Hope who is the elf taking pictures of Santa with kids. A plan to make some extra money and even a score to get even with Laramie they decide to have some of Cord rodeo friends come and make a calendar for Christmas at Cords family ranch. He is not really welcome there considering he run out on all of them. Once home on the ranch he is not really welcome by his brother. But there is way more going on.
I do not want to give it all away so go ahead and check this book out and read it. It is worth it :)
As you can see by the date started and finished - that I could not put it down. This is the first book that I have read by Becky McGraw and it will not be my last.
Cowboys, socialite, models, mishaps and Santa all lead to a fabulous story of about guilt, family, loyalty, jealousy, love, and learning to trust.
Cord Dixon left his family ranch home to become a model for Laramie Jeans and due to him saying no to a certain proposition he finds himself jobless and dressed in a Santa suit and not sure if he would be welcome back home. Hope Carlisle meets said Santa as she is his elf photographer because of a certain mishap in her past. On Hope's first day Cord loses it and decides to quit which leaves Hope without a job till she has a brainwave and makes her own offer to Cord - which he accepts.
This story held me captive with the ups and downs of Cord making amends with his family, the budding romance/attraction between Cord and Hope, both frightened to say how they felt and what they wanted. The show of friendship from Cords friends to help him repair his family home all lead to an amazing love story that give you that feel good factor after finishing a book. Congrats Becky McGraw - LOVED it. 5 stars.

Review:
This is a fun and fast pace novella, you laugh, you cry, and get mad at how stupid two people can be. You’re cheering in the end. Not much more can be said other than the development of the plot and characters is perfect. You don’t run into errors, which is a plus when reading.
Cord is the Mr. Laramie model in the world of western clothing. He loses his contract when he refuses the sexual advances of his boss and finds himself playing a mall Santa. He is also a former bull rider and has not been home in the three years he started modeling and is seriously thinking about trying to return home. Hope is a socialite and a photographer. She loses everything, her fiance, her family support, and her job after a mistake at a wedding. She is Santa's helper at the mall taking the pictures. Both are fed up with their situations and plot together to to fix their under employed situations. Cord does not know what has been happening at his family's ranch and steps in to help his family with Hope by his side.
Hot and steamy scenes between Cord and Hope. Both of them have plans to help each other and Cord's family and agree to keep their hearts. Spending time getting to know one another may change all of that, but neither one of them is willing to admit their true feelings.
