Beth Dolgner writes paranormal fiction and non-fiction. Her interest in things that go bump in the night really took off on a trip to Savannah, Georgia, so it's fitting that the Betty Boo, Ghost Hunter Series of paranormal romance novels takes place in that spooky city. Beth's young adult novels, the steampunk Manifest and the urban fantasy A Talent for Death, also have paranormal elements. Her non-fiction work includes Georgia Spirits and Specters and Everyday Voodoo.

Since Georgia is obviously on her mind, you might think Beth lives there. Well, she did, but these days she and her husband live in Berlin, Germany, with their three cats. Beth misses those mild Georgia winters and proper iced tea, but there's no reason her characters can't enjoy those things.

Beth also enjoys giving presentations on Victorian death and mourning traditions as well as Victorian Spiritualism. She has been a volunteer at an historic cemetery, a ghost tour guide and a paranormal investigator. Right now she's chronicling the best spooky spots around Europe.

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

I really like this series so far and was excited to read this fourth book. In Crystals and Conspiracies Hazel and her coven get involved again in another mystery as a vampire gets killed in the magic store. I love the found family theme of this book with Hazel and her coven helping each other and being there for each other. I like reading about this magical small town and seeing the mysteries play out.

The mystery was a solid one. There was a lot going on. There is the vampire who got killed and he had gotten into arguments with some different people before he died. There is a vengeful witch and her coven who did a revenge spell against the owner of the magic store who turns into a suspect and asks Hazel for help clearing her name. Rumors are going around about hunters being in town. A local shop owner seems to a thriving business selling premade spells because of the rumors. And a creepy customers keeps aggressively flirting with Valerian.

The mystery was a good one with progress being made throughout the book. I liked finding out more about the vampire who got killed and who might've wanted him dead. And the surrounding plot lines and characters all develop and progress throughout the book. I wasn’t quite sure who the murderer was, but I wasn’t surprised at the reveal either. I liked how Hazel figured it out.

I really like reading about Hazel and her coven. They are such a close bunch and there are so many lovely scenes with them supporting one another, doing spells together and just being together. I really like reading about all of them and seeing what's going on in their lives. And their familiars are all great and fun to read about too.

This series also has an interesting ongoing plot line surrounding something hidden in the funeral home the coven lives. In this book they come a bit closer to figuring out what's going on as they notice their magic gettign stronger and they have some suspicions about what's causing it, but not how or where it is located. There also is more about the poltergeist, now that they are aware of it being there.

To summarize: This was another great book in this series. I love the found family theme, likable characters, the small magical town setting and the interesting mysteries. The mystery was a good one and I liked seeing things progress throughout the book. I hadn't figured out who the murderer was, but wasn't too surprised at the reveal. I liked how Hazel figured things out. I really like the found family theme and how supportive of eahc other Hazel and her coven are. The ongoing series plot line about what's hidden in the funeral home progresses as well and they figure some things out and see more of the poltergeist. This continues to be a great series and I look forward to the next book!

I loved this book and think the series just gets better and better, especially as we get to know the characters.
They are really coming into there own and at the same time developing into a close knit group. I even liked the ghostly help this time round. Of course the bird familiars need to get a mention too, can't forget them, not that they would let you as the bad guys found out to there cost.
I like the way each witch has different powers and even jobs. All of which Hazel needs to help her solve the mystery.
As for the mystery there was so much going on and plenty of red herring to keep you guessing. With
lots of light hearted humour, banter and antics in the story, which I love. That is why this is one of my favourite author's, as she knows how to have fun and let her imagination go, she writes a compelling story with well developed characters and is always entertaining with it.

With the whole coven's magic developing and either getting stronger or less controllable the last thing they need is hunters in town, for Valerian to have a stalker or worse a murder to solve. As if life could get any more complicated. Did the death of the vampire bring the hunters to town or were they already here? Or was the death caused by a dark spell? With the town getting out of control over the fear of the hunters being spotted, Wyatt turns to Hazel for help. So does Adeline the vampire who runs the magical shop and is the town's chief suspect, especially as the murder happened in the shop. Can Hazel help unmask a killer and keep a stalker away from her friend?

Good

Hazel is on the frontlines of a murder investigation once again, when she discovers a dead vampire in the magical supply shop. The Chief Constable, Wyatt, is firmly convinced that Hazel’s abilities will help her solve the murder, but meantime the town is on high alert, convinced that Hunters are in the area, while the coven’s magic seems to be going haywire!

Picking up shortly after book three, we find ourselves back in the funeral home with Hazel and her coven. They’re experiencing some oddities with their magic, that leads to an intriguing possibility.
Hazel and Wyatt are beginning to realize that they don’t hate each other, but it doesn’t stop her magical exhalations from embarrassing her. Their new and improved relationship actually proves beneficial for the investigation in this book, and it also means that we get to learn a little more about Wyatt too.
With a poltergeist in the funeral home, things have become a little excitable, and that means that the bird familiars get to have some truly epic scenes- they were definitely the stars of this book, and made me giggle out loud a couple of times as they starred in my favourite scenes.

This is an entertaining paranormal cosy mystery, with a mature heroine who is well into her new start, and finding out more about herself every day. The characters- especially the familiars (I’d love to see them interact with Felipe!) are fun, and somewhat quirky, and the found family is everything a cosy reader will enjoy.
If you love mature heroines, slow burn romances, second starts, found family, magic and mayhem, then this is the perfect series for you (especially if you also enjoyed the Nightmare, Az series!).

All I can say is WOW! This is why I LOVE how Beth Dolgner writes! The funeral parlor seems to be enhancing power not only to our ladies, but to Harold and their poltergeist. Val has a relentless stalker, supposedly harmless, but when he arrives at the funeral parlor, the poltergeist slams him back and slams the door closed. Vincent, a vampire who does advertising seems to be using unethical methods to get clients, ruining Connors own business. Vincent seems to have issues with many in town and when Hazel stops by for some ingredients, she finds a pile of dust. It turns out someone has killed the Vampire Vincent. But, who? And why? To add to that there is a rumor of a hunter, the kind that hunts vampires and shifters. The town is in upheaval over this. Wyatt and Hazel seem to be actually getting along.. big shock..but, what a whirlwind of things to be solved! Can it really be one person working alone or a coven?

Sleuthing shenanigans and supernatural crimes go crazzzy, when Hazel and witchy gal pals are together. Of course they all live together, their familiars live with them too, in Hazel’s uncle Grant’s funeral home, which she inherited.

Yes indeedio, they live in a funeral home, complete with a ghost and poltergeist (the poltergeist is doing better learning to live with them, so definitely a plus).

So when a local is murdered, another supernatural is accused of the crime, the accused asks Hazel for help. Hazel and her sleuth skills go to work, with a great deal of help from Marlee, Val and Jo, and of course the cranky and cute sheriff Wyatt as well.

Wonderful warm characters make this series sparkle, their magical mishaps make for a great deal of eccentric charm and laughter, and when Hazel suddenly puts the unexpected teeny last clue together and the killer is apprehended, it’s an absolutely worthwhile read

I absolutely loved this book and feel like the series grows stronger with every release. Hazel and her coven have such a wonderful bond now, and I really enjoy how each witch has her own abilities and role within the group. The ghostly moments and the bird familiars brought even more personality and fun to the story.

Beth Dolgner perfectly mixes magic, mystery, humor, and emotion. With a vampire murder, whispers of hunters in town, Valerian’s troubling stalker, and the coven’s powers becoming more unpredictable, the story never slows down. There were plenty of surprises and suspects to keep me guessing throughout.

What I enjoy most about this series is the friendship and loyalty between the characters. This was another magical, entertaining, and thoroughly enjoyable read, and I’m already looking forward to the next one.

This is the 4th book to the Crones of a Feather paranormal cozy mystery series and it is a great addition. From getting hooked in the beginning to turning pages and kept guessing to the end, I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series. In this one, although Hazel Underwood and Adeline Beaumont just don't get along. But when a dead vampire is found in Adeline's shop, and Adeline becomes the main suspect. Hazel and her close knit coven will try to uncover a murderer and clear Adeline's name since it really was a set up. But why? And what is happening in town to the Magic? This is a fast paced fun read that keeps you totally engaged until the end. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are still my own.

I just love this series because Hazel and her coven are such a close-knit group of women who support and help each other. This latest has Hazel on the hunt for a vampire killer, and there is a rumor going around there is a hunter in town going after vampires and shifters. I know how we are given so many viable candidates for the villain, and it’s a fun ride until the end. I love this latest book, and I can’t wait for the next one. Fans of this series will quite enjoy this latest. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I really love this series, I love how Hazel is still figuring out her magic and Wyatt. I love how the relationships in this series are progressing, the women (Hazel, Jo and Val) are becoming stronger together, I love how the bond they've formed. The mystery in this novel had me hooked, I had my suspicions and I loved how it played out, they way Beth Dolgner has written this novel kept me guessing and though I did suspect I still went back and forth so I'm calling it a win for Beth. I love her writing, it's cozy but engaging. I love reading these stories, I can't wait for the next one

Hazel and her coven are at it again. Someone murdered the local head vampire in the magic shop of a person Hazel doesn't like. Now she has to figure out who did it, with the help of her coven & Wyatt, the local constable & Hazels 'not' boyfriend.
There are lots of twists and turns in this story. Especially since something in the house is significantly boosting Crystal and her covens powers, which causes quite a few problems.
You will love this story and won't want to put it down!

This is the very definition of a pageturner. The book is ingeniously plotted and fabulously fun with an intriguing mystery, imaginative worldbuilding and a lot of humour (the frustration in the opening scene is so relatable, lol). I was completely captivated by each of the leading characters, they are amazing. A terrific story!

A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.

Another Grwat,Series

This is another great instalment in yet another great series by Beth Dolgner. I couldn't outnumber once I started reading. As always, the MC is a strong woman surrounded by warm and supportive friends, with a touch of romance and a healthy dose of magic.

The racing storyline leaves me feeling satisfied until the next instalment, but I always make sure that I have the next one pre-ordered.

Now to go having read it again

Awesome book

The Crones of a Feather are doing their best to solve the murder of a vampire, but they are hindered by their own magic! It seems the magic build up is in the funeral home, but where? There is no time to investigate because there are rumors of hunters to investigate. So much more to keep you reading!

Beth Dolgner has done it again! The funeral home coven are my new favorite people. This fourth book in the series is funny, suspenseful, and full of charm.
I laughed out loud, I cried, I cheered, and audibly gasped at times.
Do yourself a favor and read this book, and the three before it, you won't regret it.

I enjoy the series and this book did add to the overall progression of the storyline. I enjoy the primary and secondary characters and like the slow development of a relationship between Hazel and Wyatt. The mystery is well developed and keeps you guessing for a bit. I do plan to continue with the series.

Another winning entry in the Crones of a Feather paranormal cozy mystery series! Hazel, Marlee, Valerian and Jo have another murder to solve and it's complicated. A murder of a vampire, plenty of twists, a stalker, and a possible energy vortex within the funeral home which is enhancing all of their magical powers kept me turning the pages and cheering for all of them to solve the case.

good murder mystery

Fun, clean, comfortable main characters but with a villain, a murder, lots of birds!
A lot of bad people in this one! Hard to figure the true murderer! Our hero’s coven gets a boost! Is that a good thing? Read and see!
