Cole Williams saw a murder, and now he and his family are in witness protection, and he needs to stay invisible. However, one day, while visiting his protector, he ran into Daisy Adams. At the first meeting, they seem to click, but Cole Williams knows it is dangerous to think about relations with Daisy. Will Cole Williams forget about his safety to have a relationship with Daisy Adams? The readers of Daisy & Cole: Secret Obsessions will continue to follow Cole as they discover what happens.
Daisy & Cole: Secret Obsessions is an enjoyable romantic suspense book, and the first book I have read by S. R. Mallery. I had no trouble engaging with the story and its characters, and the plot twist kept me interested. Reading this book, I started to think about the issues young students face in getting the work they need to survive university. I also started to realise the importance of women's shelters in our communities.
Daisy & Cole: Secret Obsessions by S. R. Mallery is well-written and well-researched. I also love S. R. Mallery's writing style and the way she portrays her characters and their interactions throughout this book. I feel part of the book's setting through S. R. Mallery's descriptions.
Thank you to the Author for my ARC in exchange for an honest review. I recommend this book.
I absolutely loved Daisy and Cole's story! From the very first chapter, the chemistry between them is undeniable, and as the story progresses, it turns into something much more meaningful. Daisy is a super likeable heroine. She’s compassionate without being naive, and strong without being insensitive. Her work at the battered women’s shelter and her growing suspicions about corruption at her law firm add depth and real stakes to the story. Cole is the absolutely perfect man and gentleman, in all the ways! A hero carrying the weight of witness protection, family guilt, and a dangerous past. His inner conflict broke my heart, as he wanted Daisy while knowing he might destroy her life by loving her. The suspense element is gripping without overpowering the romance. The threatening notes, the eerie intimidation tactics, and the shadow of Jason Clark hovering in the background keep the pages turning. At the same time, the romance takes shape beautifully, as Daisy and Cole share their passions, poetry, their two dogs bonding, and then deeper intimacy written in lovely prose. If you enjoy romantic suspense with strong emotional stakes, protective but vulnerable heroes, and heroines who trust their instincts, I highly recommend this book!

This was a great and intense read with just a little bit of spice. Cole is in witness protection after witnessing a murder. But one day he runs into Daisy and is instantly attracted to her. He knows he shouldn’t get into anything with her considering his circumstances, but he just can’t help himself. This was filled with twists and turns and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I loved both Cole and Daisy together. This was a great story to read. Can’t eat to read more from this author.
An Intriguing Romantic Suspense The story opens with Daisy encountering a stranger in a dim parking garage, bracing for danger—only to realize he’s simply heading to his truck. Their paths cross again at the vet’s office, and this time it sparks something warm and undeniable between them. The stranger, Cole, is living in witness protection, doing his best to stay invisible while caring for his mother and siblings, who were forced into hiding because of him. The guilt of uprooting their lives weighs heavily, and his determination to keep them safe shapes every choice he makes.
Daisy works as a secretary at a law firm during the day and volunteers at a shelter for abused women in the evenings. When she stumbles across suspicious documents at work, she begins to fear her boss is involved in something illegal. At the same time, Cole’s family receives a threatening anonymous letter—proof that danger is closing in.
As both Daisy and Cole face escalating risks, their connection deepens into a passionate romance. Cole knows he may have to disappear again, but walking away from Daisy is no longer something he can imagine.
This is a well-crafted story that skillfully blends suspense, intrigue, and a heartfelt romance full of steamy moments and witty dialogue. The cute romance between their dogs, Shakespeare and Monica, adds a nice touch of humor. Daisy & Cole is a thoroughly engaging romantic thriller. Highly recommended!
Daisy & Cole is a love story wrapped in one mystery after another, and with an extra dash of steaminess compared with S.R. Mallery’s previous books. Cole and Daisy’s romance ignites at first sight, along with the attraction between her dog and his, which suggests to the reader that all four of them are meant to be together. “Two steps in, and Cole’s arms wrapped around her body, his embrace triggering memories of their most intimate moments in a hot second.”
Despite the deep passion between Daisy & Cole, the complex circumstances of their lives threaten to become obstacles standing in the way of their love. Flashbacks of his former life as Steve wash over him now and again. Will Cole risk everything for Daisy — or vanish to avoid being destroyed by his past?
The witness protection rules state, “You can date, but if you do become involved, be aware that your partner may also have to change both their name and identity, if you have to move from your present location.”
Daisy holds a job at a successful attorney’s company, and volunteers at a battered women’s shelter. She is an independent, strong woman, with a life filled with purpose. Even so, she is relieved when Cole comes to the rescue when she’s attacked by an abuser at the center.
Mallery’s new book, Daisy & Cole, is a fantastic voyage into a suspense-filled, romance, one you won’t soon forget.
It is a great read, and as a fan of Mallery’s work, a venture into a new genre.
Cole has secrets, but so does Daisy. Yet, it is love at first sight, though a forbidden love that won’t allow either of them to ignore it. The heat between the two, blazes. It contains just the right mix of not too much for those who are faint of heart, and just enough for the ones who like a steamier read.
Multiple mysteries surround them, will they intertwine? Will Daisy and Cole become a forever couple, giving her dog Sebastian, and Cole’s dog Monica their happy forever too?
The characters are well-rounded, even those that do not take center stage, and it handles tough subjects with views into issues that many of us have never experienced.
