From the author of Dolphin Bay, Thistle Island, and more comes an all-new romantic women's fiction series about heartbreak, hope, and the beauty of second chances. Coming soon!
The Golden Hour will be book number four in the Saltwater Series. It will be available on Kindle unlimited June 25th, 2026.
The author needs to title this series more clearly. I had to find it on Amazon to figure it out.
In this book, we get to meet April, whose Aunt Sharon owned the cottage. April is a commercial designer who needs a two week vacation. She is unhappy with her demanding job and quits in the end.
Stacy is still in love with Joel and his daughter Kenzie. Her ex-husband Cooper visited, saying that he made a terrible mistake and he wants Stacy back. April had seen Joel with a beautiful woman so Stacy is filling in her time without Joel until he can explain.
Layla Hartwell knew that her bookstore, Shoreline Books, was failing fast. People ordered online or read on devices, so it was unsustainable to open a bookstore in a little seaside village of Sunflower Beach. Her handsome landlord has volunteered to help Layla to adjust her bookstore concepts to become more profitable. He is full of good ideas which she has implemented.
After five years of keeping her son Ben to herself, Tessa's traitorous mother told Jack that her had a son. He said that he would return with a lawyer. Jack is wonderful to Ben, although he hasn't told him that he is his father. He bought a sweet beach house and filled the yard and house with toys for Ben. He avoids talking to Tessa because he was cheated out of having a son for five years.
Stacy is still trying to help Arthur find his wife and daughter. He goes to the old lighthouse to turn on the light for them every night. She found his family too late because Jane had died recently and Heather died of cancer years ago. However, there was a surprise phone call to Arthur right at the end which will make him very happy.
Finally things are coming together for everyone. Every character has turmoil in their lives and it's quite sad, but the silver lining is finally showing it's brightness. It's been a long time coming.
Layla's bookstore problems are starting to diminish. Stacy confessed to her own secret. Ben is ecstatic meeting new friends. Tessa was forced to face her demons. April lets go and take a real vacation. Arthur's heartbreak may just begin to heal yet. Joel runs scared, but also faces his fear. Ruby is a big help. Caleb isn't kidding like he says. Ummmm.... Ya, there's a lot going on and a lot of healing for everyone.
This book ends with hope and a lot like a cliffhanger that we'll get answers to in book 4.
See you in my next book thoughts review. Deuces to your cabooses!
From the very first book, House on Sunflower Beach, you are hooked. Mia has a way with words that makes you feel you are right there. You are pulling for Stacy and Joel. Arthur you don't know what to do with.. This book adds even more hopes as you read about April,Tessa and Layla. So jump right in and let the fun begin! Even if we do have to wait for The Golden Hour!
Massive mistake halfway through ruined this book for me when a character "pulls up the 1980 census" from an online database, and from that determines someone's exact birth date. Authors need to check their facts: 5 minutes on Ancestry will tell you that the latest census available to the public is 1950, and that birth records are private.
Saltwater Dreams is an excellent story about how the past can resurface. In a sad way and in a happy way. Sunflower Beach is a beautiful city filled with a group of friends facing their past and finding their future.
Life throws lots of curves at us which are hard and unimaginable. Mia puts together a great story with love and circumstances true to life. Could not put it down and can not wait to see what happens!!
I have enjoyed this series so far. I was happy that I didn’t keep reading last week after I started. If there’s anything sad going on at the time don’t read it. I won’t say why, yet that would be my advice. I would recommend it when things ps aren’t so difficult.
