I'm not sure I read the same book as everyone else, since there's no way I'd have given it 4 or 5 stars. At first, the premise sounded interesting. Then the repetition sets in. The same thing, over and over and over again...often with the same dialog. The only character I liked was the dog. The ending was frustrating and disappointing. Definitely not impressed.

The book had some ‘before I go to sleep vibes’. A woman waking up with no memory every day? Perfect for making you wonder what’s going on from the get-go. Every character was suspects, and you had to read on. The ending was satisfying, and I enjoyed the time it took to get there.

Freida McFadden’s Do You Remember? was actually wild. It pulls you in straight away and just keeps going the whole time. Tess Strebel wakes up after a car crash with no memory of anything and is told the man she wakes up next to, Graham, is her husband. Which already feels off. She also remembers being engaged to Harry Finch, but apparently that part of her life is just not relevant anymore… according to everyone else.
It’s a psychological thriller about memory loss, manipulation, and not really knowing who to trust at any point. Tess is basically just trying to figure out what’s real while everyone around her is acting like she should just accept things and stop asking questions, which is never a good sign in a book like this.
Freida McFadden’s writing is really easy to read and fast-paced. The short chapters make it feel like you’re getting through it way too quickly without even trying. And there’s always some kind of twist or new detail that makes you rethink everything you just read.
What stood out most is how confusing it gets in a good way. You don’t really trust Graham, you don’t fully trust Tess’s memories, and at some point you just stop trusting your own brain. The whole Harry situation just adds to it because you’re constantly wondering what actually happened.
Overall, it’s a gripping read and keeps you hooked the whole time. Even when things get a bit ridiculous, you still want to know what’s going on, which is kind of the point I guess.

Son Of A Snowman's Dog!! 😳😳🤯🤯😯😯
Geeeezzzuuussss! What the FLUFF!? What! What! WHAT!!! 😳 Freida has done it again! I was hooked from the first page, let alone the first chapter! I loved watching Tess's life unfold, what happened to her, how things have changed since her accident and most importantly, what is going on now and why! I was absolutely gobsmacked! I woke up at 6am to get this book on release day and devour it. It. Did. Not. Disappoint! A literary genius in our midst who deserves far more recognition then she gets. My jaw is still sore from it all. Absolutely twisted & crazy with things you never see coming. I'm still trying to catch up with my brain after all that. She knows how to mess up your brain in the best way!

The first half was really really good. I couldn’t put it down and I was thinking about it so much I couldn’t sleep. The second half was a dissapointment. The conclusion was really weak and stupid and it didn’t make a lot of sense? This book could be SOOO good, but no. It was a fast read though

This is my review of Do You Remember?

Okay. First of all… I had to keep reminding myself: psychological thriller. Not a traditional thriller. Because if I had to relive the same confusion one more time, I was about to lose it. 😵💫
Tess starts likable. I was rooting for her. I wanted her to win. And then somewhere along the way, I also wanted to gently (not gently) shake her. Maybe even scream into a pillow. 😅
It’s basically:
Groundhog Day 🤝 50 First Dates
… but darker. Way darker. 🖤
The repetition will either hook you or drive you slightly insane. For me? Both. I kept walking away from it… and then crawling back because I HAD to know what was real. Who to believe. What the actual truth was. 👀
Freida absolutely knows how to:
• Twist your brain 🧠
• Make you question everyone
• Drop moments that make you go “WAIT. WHAT?!”
• Untangle chaos just enough to keep you reading
But that ending??? WHAT. WAS. THAT. 😩
It felt like the story was building, building, building… and then just stopped mid emotional explosion. I wanted more. I needed more. I deserved more. And honestly? That last bit kind of yanked me out of the experience.
Still addictive. Still clever. Still frustrating in that very Freida way. But that ending and I? We’re not on speaking terms. 🚫
Would I read another Freida? Obviously. Will I ever emotionally recover from that ending? Unclear. 😂

She’s seven years older, her hair is chopped off, the house she was just in last night has gone through a total remodel, her clothes are all designer, and she has a dog? All she knows is that Graham won’t hurt her, based off a letter she wrote to herself, explaining her daily memory loss after a terrible car accident. But if it’s just memory loss, why does she have to be babysat every second of the day? Why are all the doors locked from the inside? And why did she just get a text telling her not to trust her husband?

☆My Thoughts:
Think of every memory loss, repeating day reference you can manage, and that is the vibe of this book. I was in desperate need of a short, read-in-one-day page-turner thriller to avoid a slump, and for this, Freida has always been my go-to. She hasn’t failed me yet, but this one is likely my least favorite of hers I’ve read so far.
Freida’s writing has always been straightforward and easy to read, which makes it a piece of cake to inhale any of her works in a single sitting. Do You Remember? is no exception. The twists were plentiful, but aren’t groundbreaking (aside from maybe one), and are easy to sus out relatively early. Normally my jaw dislocates and falls so far from my body when she throws in a twist, so that’s my biggest gripe with this book. Obviously the repetitive nature of Tess's life can be annoying as well, but for 281 pages I feel I can’t overly complain 😅
The Characters: Tess? Just okay. Graham? Hot and suspicious. Camila? Hot and intriguing. Harry? Interesting? (no hot vibes lol sorry) And Lucy? 🙅🏻♀️
But I honestly couldn’t care less about any of the characters except Ziggy, the dog. Now THAT’s a good boy 🐶🥹💓
I’d absolutely recommend for anyone needing something quick and suspenseful to get through a slump! Unfortunately tho, there was no dancing in September 😅 Sad day.

This book started with a bang, then it just went up and down for me. Sometimes it was so good that it got me hooked and other times I was like what have I just read?!
I like the idea of the book but the writing wasn't skilful enough. The way Freida McFadden ended the book was rushed. We didn't have a chance to know the characters better. It wasn't easy to write this trope as it was kind of repetitive. Overall, it was a quick and easy read.
By the way, I love pomegranate juice. Anyone who read this book would understand what I meant. ^_^

3.5⭐️ enjoyable read that I got through in 24h!
But due to the premise (a woman wakes up every morning not being able to remember anything that’s happened in the last 7 years) it is quite repetitive, and overall it’s just quite a surface level book.
More depth would have been needed to rate this higher. But don’t get me wrong it was engaging and I did like it!

Horrible
Almost painful to read. The writing is beyond elementary. I stayed with it so I could find out what happened at the end but that was the biggest disappointment of all. I'm not a writer and I have no talent in that area, so I feel terrible leaving bad reviews ... therefore I almost never do it. But I just can't help myself with this one, because I AM a reader ... a very avid one ... and this was just SO not worth the time.

Reminded me of the movie Groundhog Day where the person woke up every morning with no previous memories.
Tess's last memory was of a night spent with her fiancée. She wakes up the "next" morning and finds that she is married to someone else. She is told that she had a brain injury and must be continually monitored for her own safety.
She finds a message that she wrote on her thigh so her husband would not see it. She struggles to fight the fog in her mind.
A quick read that I suspected what was happening but there was a nice twist at the end.

Given that I have now read too many Freida McFadden books that I have found are just way too similar to or much the same as other books published first that I've read, I have decided to reasses my ratings. I'll leave my original review for what I thought at the time, but don't want to support this.

This psychological/domestic thriller was enjoyable, but for the reasons below I have given it 3.5 stars, rounded down. If you have not read 'Before I Go to Sleep', this would likely be a 4.5 star read.
Tess wakes up every day with no memory of what happened the day prior, and thinking it is about 7 years earlier when her life was on a completely different trajectory.
She has no idea who the man she wakes up next to is, who seems kind and caring and claims to be her husband. However, she is being convinced she ought not to trust her husband.
Is the person she wakes up to everyday and who cares for her the untrustworthy one? Or is it the person trying to convince the brain damaged Tess not to trust the man she married who is the untrustworthy one?
My view:
I found this book to be very similar, at least in earlier parts, to Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson. When I read that book, I was new to these kinds of thrillers and found the pacing and mystery fantastic. Reading this one, however, I found the repeated days from memory loss a grind and frustrating. I think one book of this kind is enough for me.
As usual, Freida McFadden has ended this book with a twist that was not predictable, though some aspects were to me very predictable (I shall say no more so as to avoid spoilers).

⭐️⭐️⭐️ a good book but my least favourite of the all the books I’ve read by this author.
It keeps you guessing but the whole premise of each day repeating itself meant that chunks of the book were repeating themselves and we had to live through the same description time after time.
The Lucy and Camilla characters I found a little odd; good guys then bad guys then good guys.

Nooo she can’t keep getting away with this (having a super strong start and fumbling the ending)!!!!🤣😭 My ninth Freida book - I liked it! I definitely did. I was getting to thinking this was going to be one of my favorites from her. But I just feel like maybe I could’ve written a better end portion than that. It just really went off the rails. The beginning is significantly stronger than the end. The book is a bit repetitive but I really didn’t mind too much. It’s engaging with enough moving parts to have me wondering what the heck is REALLY going on…. And the answer? BOO!! Silly!! C’mon!! Ugh. I’m annoyed!! But I’ll forever return to her books so… 🤭🤣 I guess I just have to accept that more often than not the ending in one of her books is just a complete mess. Let’s call it what it is!!! But nonetheless… I am still a loyal fan.💁🏼♀️

The story moved at a quicker pace than expected, given that the main character wakes up to the same day every single day. So we experience that as the reader too - we wake up with her and experience her same confusion every single day. The storyline only progresses because the villain's foil is persistent and because each day, one thing changes to affect the next day (kind of the whole ripple in time/butterfly effect concept in time travel).
I thought I was going to find the rehashing annoying. It wasn't too bad because I could feel empathetic to this woman's daily fog and also because it becomes pretty clear early on that all is not as it seems (of course we know to expect this because it's a thriller). When the twists come, they are also more banal than I've come to anticipate from McFadden. So it was less whaaaaaaaaat and more oh.
Moral of this story, as it is with all her works: listen to your instincts!
Overall, fairly fun and easy to read. 3.5 stars.

At this point, reading one of her thrillers feels like willingly getting into a car with someone who has already driven you off a cliff multiple times before.
You KNOW the manipulation is coming. You KNOW everyone is suspicious. You KNOW reality is probably being twisted into a pretzel.
And yet somehow, I still keep turning the pages.
Was this her most unpredictable book? Probably not. I guessed several things early on, and the premise felt oddly familiar from the start. But I don't think the real strength here was one massive shocking reveal.
It was the constant unease.
That feeling of: Something is very wrong here.
Followed immediately by: But WHAT exactly?
Freida McFadden just understands pacing. Even when I suspected where things were heading, I still needed to know whether I was right—or whether she was about to pull the rug out from under me again.
Not my favourite of hers and not quite five stars, but still an incredibly entertaining psychological thriller that kept me fully engaged from beginning to end.

Okay so as we all know by now I love Freida McFadden but honestly I wish I didn’t remember reading this book 😂
It was a terrible version of ‘Before I go to sleep’ which I recommend a million times over this book! What a sad way to end my Freida journey 😭

How Is This Considered a Novel? Boring and outlandish
This book reminded me of another book where a woman woke everyday not remembering the previous days. That book was great. I thought, what the heck. I’ll try this. I’d read another book by this author and had liked if. Not so with this one. The characters were one dimensional, the way events unfolded were implausible and the time I spent reading this book was wasted.

کتاب “یادت هست” در مورد دختریست که هر روز فراموشی میگیرد و هیچ چیز جز معدود خاطراتی از عشق سابقش به خاطر نمیآورد و سرانجام داستان این فراموشی عجیب آشکار میشود. کتاب شروعی بسیار درخشان اما پایانی به شدت ضعیف داشت. روند داستان در ابتدا بسیار هیجانانگیز و پرکشش بود اما با تکرار مکررات و دور باطل روزهای فراموشی خستهکننده شد. حماقت شخصیت “تس” و انفعال پدرش در این داستان دور از انتظار بود.

What happens when all you remember when you wake up is you're sick. The handsome man you wake up to every morning tells you he's your husband, but for some reason you only remember the boyfriend before him?! Who's lying and why do you never remember the previous day? Lastly who's in it for the money?!

Honestly, Do You Remember? didn't feel like a thriller. The plot twist was obvious — I literally guessed most of the details in the first seventeen percent of the book, the repetitions — I won't give anything away here, but if you've read the book, you'll know — made me want to fall asleep, and the thrill you usually find in a good thriller was nonexistent here. Unfortunately, my least favorite Freida McFadden book so far.
