DNF 32%. The concept of this was actually adorable but then there were more random changes to the way a mate bond functions in this world plus a female lead who needs "time to process" but fucks the first guy who touches her about 5 minutes later. So yeah I am filing this under the bad kind of instalust and giving up.
All the books in this series were published in a roughly 2 month time period and it shows. Honestly I really should have read the first one and called it a day.
i wanted to rate this higher because part of my problem with it is the fact that it's only 100 pages, so of course there's no time to actually build up the romance in a way that feels satisfying, and i totally forgot to check the page count before i started it. so that part is a bit my fault.
but the rest of it? not great. the characters are all archetypes with no soul to them, the sex is boring and there's no chemistry. somehow she's "just so tired of fighting the mate bond" after maybe 4 days? and we don't actually get any description of what it is that she's fighting. how are her days going? is she feeling the urge to get close to them, does she experience irritability or anxiety when she's not interacting with them, is the bond manifesting any physiological symptoms to actually try to get her to engage with them? what exactly is she "fighting"? we don't know. it's not explained or described. but suddenly she's "so tired of fighting it" and needs to fuck him right now about it. i say him because i genuinely don't remember which one she slept with first and i finished this book approximately seven minutes ago.
the whole thing with her suddenly deciding "i have skills, i want to help in the mission" is just...so stupid? she whines about being left out, and then when they're trying to prepare her for the "mission" she says "i thought i was just going to a club," which is incredibly annoying. then why did you throw a tantrum about helping??? plus it will always be a personal pet peeve of mine when a character who is suddenly thrust into a world they don't understand (in this case it's discovering supernatural creatures AND some sort of supernatural crime syndicate ((which we know absolutely nothing about))) and suddenly demand to be allowed to "help" despite not having any idea how. she thinks her cuddling makes her a human lie detector because of her "people reading skills" (undemonstrated.) and even if that did make sense, that would only make sense on humans. how is she a better "lie-detector" than actual werewolves who can sense changes in scent, sweat, and heart rate? it's simply a really awkward device where she shoehorns herself into an investigation because "my life is mine to risk...even though i just found out werewolves were real a week ago and have no real understanding of why these are enemies and what they actually do."
also at the end they talk about how these guys all love her so much, blah blah. which is just painful considering the fact that they have basically only talked about the mission and had sex. that's it. that's all that happens in this book. they don't have any conversations that aren't directly related to either sex or their weird special werewolf espionage team.
It’s super fast paced. I mean a HUMAN who knew nothing about supernaturals is completely comfortable and having sex with a werewolf 3 DAYS after finding out about werewolves existence. Supposedly “fighting” the mate bond for those 3 days which we hear nothing about. Also it was 3 days…I wouldn’t quantify caving in to sex as “after fighting the bond”. That’s hardly a fight. That’s hardly anything.
After 6 days the human is all in. Wants to accept the mate bond. And suddenly becomes a professional military spy….this really made no sense. A professional cuddler can just hop on in to a military operation like nothing. She was suddenly fully trained on all things military and could help take down a supernatural crime syndicate. 🙄😒
Grady’s way of talking was annoying to say the least. Literally, everything he said was in military references. The dude couldn’t talk like a regular citizen. And without some traumatic childhood background to justify it, it was just annoying. It wasn’t cute, it wasn’t romantic, it was annoying.
I pretty much skipped the book from 55% to 90% since I just wanted the resolution. Which I knew how it would turn out, but again. Trash tv - you watch it even when it’s terrible. And this was terrible.
When a professional cuddler suddenly find her mates, she gets thrown into a dangerous new world. Werewolves are real, and her new mates are part of a special ops team meant to take down criminals. This now puts a target on her back as they will be trying to steal her as a way to control her special ops werewolf mates.
These MCs have such fun dynamics together, and each of the three MMCs is so different. We get some great spice, but not as much as I think you would expect. With this being a novella, things progress quickly in every way.
The story is fast paced, with time jumps being the norm to get to the next set of events. This pacing also applies to the growth of the FMC, she very quickly gets on board with the circumstances. There isn’t much change in the MMCs as they remain filling the roles they have.
This is a fun quick read, that had me laughing at the absurdity and enjoying the ride!
This is a very good, well written, RH, Shifter/Human military romance. Carmen is a professional cuddled and stay strict to her rules. No sexual contact and do not fall in love with your clients. She has an appointment for two hours with three new clients. She is surprised they are military. As the session comes to an end, she falls asleep, drolls, and becomes bonded to a wolf shifter, military, special ops pack. They are on a special mission and she is now in danger. Read how their bonds and she becomes part of the pack and helps complete the mission.
I enjoyed this Reverse harem romance. The characters are fun. I didn't feel like I was overrun with spice scenes, that tends to happen with these types of books The spice scenes were well done imo. I enjoyed the pack dynamic. My only real problem with this book is that I feel like certain parts were rushed. Mainly them meeting and then just suddenly "you're our mate, you're in danger, you have to come with us". Also the taking down of the bad guy, to be such a big part of the story, actually taking him down seemed more breezed over Overall I really liked this book, especially for a novella. It was a good story in 100 pages.

Carmen was definitely taken by surprise when her professional cuddle session with three men turns into her being their mate & them taking over for her protection.
It was definitely a short yet sweet book that had me completely entranced & unwilling to put the book down.
They all seemed to work so well with one another that despite how unorthodox it felt, especially to Carmen, everything just meshed so well together.
First person POV, I don’t recall if the location was ever specified beyond a presumed larger city. HEA, 1 pepper spice, no on page kink beyond reverse harem and MM. This was a quick, lighthearted romance and not much else. The shifter aspect was essentially non-existent, though used to move the almost not there story further. No real drama, no bad action, just a bit of activity. Recommended if you want something quick, light as fluff and almost sweet as syrup.
Short and smutty, I’m not opposed. The plot wasn’t terrible, underdeveloped and forced but with the length that’s not unexpected. However, the word choices were cringy… really they’re in an MMMF relationship and she is called a pack mom???? There’s no kids involved she’s just the ‘amateur pack mom’? Ew! And, yes, they’re military but that doesn’t mean everything they say needs to be in military terms. It’s not cute, it’s weird.
First time reading this author, and I have enjoyed the book. I found everything a little weird but kind of cool. I wish they went into more detail to talk about the lore around her supernaturals as it’s not much talked about I have questions about different species, how they’re turn, and why she wasn’t turned or if that was an option. But it was a sweet fast-paced read.
She should have never fallen asleep. When she woke up, her life changed dramatically. I liked how they got together and how they all accepted the mate bond. I enjoyed the premise of the story, the missions they went on as they made their way to their HEA.
i did enjoy this one a lot more then bk2&3 1&4 seems to be my fav so far , each books has a different way they seem to mate doesn’t follow alone with a typical world way of wolf shifters , one with scent , touch, saliva , all different which is interesting
Loved this! Was looking for something short and sweet and this absolutely delivered. Only reason I’m giving 4/5 is because I would have liked to see a little more affection between the guys. They are all supposed to be together but we never really got any glimpse of that besides the 1 bedroom scene. Other than that, loved it!
I am not sure what I was expecting but this was a fun pallet cleanser. If you just want somewhere fun to bounce in to that you are not always looking for the twist this is a good book for that. The characters are fun and I like that you get to see their personalities shine through the entire book.
I knew this was going to be insta love and QUICK. it's only 100 pages.. but this could have been higher had there been another 50-100 pages, there was decent grounds to make it a teeny tiny bit longer
But not bad if ur looking for something quick. Especially for a why choose/reverse harem reading challenge
Light, sweet, a dash of just enough danger to move the characters along naturally... This reads like the Cliff Notes introduction to a much deeper & richer world waiting to be teased out and built - no pressure!
The author writes well from a technical aspect; but the story line lacks any emotional development. There is no ‘getting to know’ stage, there is no flirtation, there is 0 build up. The lack of emotion makes the spicy scenes fall flat.
It was cute. I think the way Grady talked during spicy times kinda killed the mood lol also professional cuddling skills don’t translate to CIA operations lmao just saying
