I edited this kindle e-book collection of public-domain ghost stories, picking and choosing from available stories (and those not already collected by my publisher) with an eye towards assembling a representative selection of the span of ghost fiction of the period - so you get early and late Gothic, some psychological, naturalist, sentimental. Etc. It's only 99¢, what have you got to lose! (sorry folks, I have no control over packaging/cover aesthetics!)
With most of the stories contained within this collection having been written pre-1900, it's a great collection of ghost stories from nearly 130 years ago. From a time when some words had different meanings, and spellings, it lets you see how much the humble ghost story has changed...but hasn't at the same time.
I'd highly recommend this collection to anyone brought up on - or just loves - reading ghost stories. I've been reading them for 40 years, and would gladly do so for another 40.
I really like the Wildside Megapacks. They always have a good variety in them. There are usually one or two I have read before but for the most part they are usually new to me. Of course, some are deservedly forgotten but others are hidden gems.
