WOW! This was everything. Mason is the sweetest of men. Hes feral when need him to be and protective at all times. He’s caring, kind and everything a girl like Bianca could want. Bianca is the misunderstood plus size FMC who finally gets seen by the man of her dreams. She’s sweet, selfless and loves endlessly. This was everything I could want from the 4th book in a series. This set up book 5 perfectly. The plot was everything, the spice was there. Book 5 already announced😉😉😉
This book opens with a door slightly ajar. And that tiny crack? That’s the moment Bianca’s entire life shatters. The Setup: Trapped by Blood Bianca isn’t just running from a bad past. She’s running from a monster with her last name. Dario Romanelli—her stepbrother—isn’t just cruel. He’s calculated. Sadistic. The kind of villain who smiles while holding a knife to your roommate’s throat. The opening scene is brutal. Sean tied to a chair. Blood on the floor. Dario twirling a knife like it’s a toy. And Bianca realizing, in real time, that she was never truly free. The branding scene? Sickening. Not just physically painful—but symbolic. A snake burned into her skin. Ownership. Control. A mark meant to remind her she will never outrun him. And what makes it worse? Her own stepfather was planning to sell her off. Marry her to a stranger. Or worse—profit from her body. This isn’t just dark romance. This is captivity trauma wrapped in mafia power plays. Bianca: Broken but Not Weak What I appreciated about Bianca is that she runs. She doesn’t submit quietly. She gets a new identity. Moves towns. Works. Survives. Even when she’s forced into Kitty’s, drugged with benzos, branded, manipulated—there’s still fight in her. She’s exhausted. Terrified. Physically hurt. But she’s not passive. When she realizes Dario’s plan involves Elijah Porter and the underground club Red? Her fear feels real. The panic is suffocating. You feel how trapped she is. And yet she still tries to protect the people around her. Even Mason. Enter Mason: The Protector Who Didn’t Mean To Care When Mason first approaches her at the club, it’s not insta-lust. It’s concern. He sees something’s wrong. He notices the drug haze. He clocks danger immediately. And the shift in him? Instant. He goes from stranger to “I’m not letting her out of my sight” in seconds. Is it realistic? Maybe not. Is it protective-bodyguard fantasy coded? Absolutely. When he scoops her up and takes her to the penthouse safehouse without hesitation? That’s the trope. Mason isn’t a natural caretaker—but with Bianca, he becomes feral. He doesn’t care if she can pay him. He doesn’t care if it makes business messy. He doesn’t care if his brother questions him. She’s branded. She’s in danger. That’s enough. And honestly? I ate that up. The Romance: Instant & Intense This is very much instant love. Mason decides she’s his before he even knows her story. Bianca starts feeling safe with him almost immediately. There isn’t a slow burn here. It’s high-stakes bonding. Trauma bonding. Protective obsession. They fall hard. He takes care of her after she’s beaten. He stays close. He refuses to let her disappear again. When she runs to protect his siblings? That’s when emotions deepen. Mason opening up about his feelings gave the story a softer layer beneath all the violence. The Chaos Escalates ✔ Dario finding her location ✔ Mason demanding a meeting ✔ The plan to rescue Mia ✔ Mason’s ex drugging Bianca (that twist added tension) The story keeps stacking danger on danger. There’s always another threat lurking. And Dario? He’s genuinely terrifying. Not cartoonish. Not over-the-top. Just cold and methodical. The branding, the manipulation, the setup with Elijah—he feels like someone who would absolutely burn the world just to prove he owns it. What Worked 🔥 Protective bodyguard trope 🔥 Mafia-family danger 🔥 Forced proximity 🔥 Trauma survival 🔥 “Touch her and die” energy 🔥 High emotional stakes Mason’s protective instinct is the emotional anchor of this book. Without him, Bianca’s story would feel unbearably dark. He balances it
ARC Review- This is my Honest review for the book!
I do not even know where to begin with Dangerous Savior by E.M. Rose because this book had me hooked from the very first chapter and never once let go. I have been lucky enough to ARC read for E.M. Rose for a while now, and every single time she manages to raise the bar. This one might be my favorite yet.
Bianca Romanelli’s story is intense, emotional, and completely gripping. After two years on the run, being dragged back home by her step-brother Dario sets the tone for a dark and dangerous ride. The tension surrounding Bianca’s situation had my heart racing. You can feel her fear, her strength, and her desperation for freedom in every scene.
And then there is Mason King. Protective, controlled, and completely swoon worthy. The bodyguard dynamic is done so well here. What starts as professional quickly turns into something layered and deeply emotional. The slow build between Mason and Bianca felt real and earned. Their chemistry is undeniable, but it is the way he quietly takes her under his wing and becomes her safe place that truly melted me.
The danger does not stop with Dario, and the suspense woven throughout the story keeps you flipping pages late into the night. There are twists, high stakes moments, and emotional punches that hit hard. At its core, this is a story about survival, trust, and finding love when the world feels like it is closing in.
If you love protective bodyguards, forced proximity, tension filled romance, and a heroine who finds her strength in the middle of chaos, you need this book. E.M. Rose delivered a powerful, emotional, and steamy story that I will absolutely be rereading. Five stars and all the love for this one. 💕
Omg! E.M. Rose did it again! I absolutely loved this book, maybe even more than the others. The Briarwood series just keeps getting better & better with each book that comes out.
This one follows Mason King, the second eldest King sibling, & Bianca Romanelli, a newcomer to Briarwood. They meet in an unexpected place, & Bianca has really been through quite a bit over the past couple of years. Mason literally saves her & the way he does it is just everything. The connection between these two is instant & amazing. & I just can't get enough of them. & of course it wouldn't be an E.M. Rose mafia adjacent dark romance without a bit of drama, mystery, & spice. & the spice be spicin'! 🥵 Oh that Mason King! These Briarwood men will have you feral & wanting more.
The suspense (& possibly the spice too 😉) will have you at the edge of your seat telling yourself, "just one more chapter" & before you know it, it's 2am. Yeah, that happened to me.
I love that E.M. Rose decided to make the FMC thick too. Curvy girls need love & man does Mason King love this curvy woman. We also get a glimpse into the lives of some of the other characters as well. Not just the main characters from prior books, but characters like the rest of the Kings & some newcomers, like Mia. Which y'all might or might not know will be getting her own spin-off soon.
This series is interconnected & can be read as standalones, the author does a great job of filling in the gaps to prior books & characters. But honestly, I would read them all in order to get the full experience.
As a member of E.M. Rose's street team I was given the opportunity to ARC read her latest book & this is my honest review.
Tropes- Fast paced, He saves her, Touch her & 💀, He Falls First, Found Family, Forced Proximity

“For the first time in my life, I truly feel like I can breathe because I know that Mason's got me. And that's everything.”
I ate this book up in one sitting, sometimes you just need a fast burn to make your life easier and this was just that. Bianca has been on the run from her step brother and step dad for 2 years and they finally found her, Mason found outside of the club out of it and he just take away from there to help her out and protect her cause he's a bodyguard. I just love how this book series just keep hitting all the right spots and I can't wait for more. The chemistry between these two is just incredible I couldn't stop smiling they just get each other so much and I'm so happy that they found each other cause they was just what each other needed. And that plot twist towards the end!? Had me gagged. Just so happy they finally found peace
“For the first time in my life, I’m hopeful. I’m happy. I’m looking forward to living, and I’m not just surviving. Mason can say that he didn’t save me all he wants, but in my mind, he truly is my savior. I wouldn’t be at this very place that I am right now without him. Mason King is my entire world, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him.”
I had the absolute HONOR of ARC reading this book! And when I tell you I couldn’t put it down! I finished it in less than 6 hours!! I literally devoured it!!
This is book 4 in the Briarwood series and this series has me in a chokehold! In this book we get a whole lot of Mason King and let me tell you, he made me feel feral!!
Mason happens to be in the same place at Bianca one night not knowing yet what exactly she’s enduring but he doesn’t care he swoops in and from there it’s beautiful salacious history!! They have an instant connection and he will do anything to keep her safe. Bianca has fought like hell and still refuses to give up. But finding Mason gives her the strength to become her own person free of her past!
This story line was so fun to read and to see this new side of Mason you don’t get in the other books that he’s in…omg 🥵🥵🥵 Bianca is one lucky ladyyyyyy!!
Seriously you need to pick up this book (and the rest of the series) if you haven’t read them yet you’re missing out!!
Tropes: 🌸Bodyguard 🖤Touch Her and Die 🌸Forced Proximity 🖤Mafia Adjacent 🌸He’s Only Soft For Her
Dangerous Savior is book 4 of the Briarwood series and is by far my favorite one. It wouldn’t be a mafia adjacent dark romance without the mystery, drama, and spice. Mason is so kind, gentle, caring to Bianca. The connection between both of them is instant. Mason is protective and will go to hell to protect Bianca. The twists, tension, and emotional angst will keep you immersed in the story that is about survival, finding love and trust in a world full of danger. Prepare yourself to become feral over these Briarwood men. You can read this as a standalone but I recommend you read the whole series in order to get the full experience. The briarwood men will leave you wanting more. If you love powerful emotional stories of trust and survival, finding love in the darkness with forced proximity, “Touch her & Die” energy and protective bodyguards then you may want to add this to your TBR as this one will have you on the edge of your seat and heart pounding with the relentless twists and turns.
Protective bodyguard trope, Mafia-family danger, Forced proximity, Trauma survival, He saves her, Touch her & Die, He Falls First, Found Family
I had the honored of being an arc reader for the 4th book in the Briarwood series and E M did not disappoint. Bianca is running from a horrific past but her stepbrother Dario find hers. One night when she working in a club Mason finds her not knowing what she is going through he decides to help her. The connection is instant for both of them. Mason will go through hell to protect Bianca from anyone. Bianca stepbrother isn’t the only threat. Will the be able to survive everything that comes there way. Guess you will have to pick up Dangerous Savior to find out.
This novel was so good, I ate it up in a day. Mason and Bianca’s relationship had the perfect amount of suspense for the bodyguard x damsel trope. I would recommend this to anyone who loves when he falls first, those who like a little bit of action in their romance, and a faster paced read. Thank you to the author for letting me be part of this ARC.
Please note all reviews are my honest and unbiased opinion.
Dangerous Savior by E.M. Rose is a powerful, emotionally raw journey that will have your heart racing. At its core, it’s a gripping journey of trust and survival—of finding love in the darkness. Prepare yourselves for the unpredictable and relentless twists and turns—it’s gritty, it’s intense, and it’s darkly beautiful.

I received an advanced copy. This is my honest and voluntary review.
So far this has been my favourite book from the series! The fact that he never steered away from his job once, but all it took was him to look at Bianca and know that she was worth it. My heart broke for Bianca with everything she went through after her mum died, and the way she was treated like something that can be just traded or sold off instead of a human. The brothers are my favourite for sure! I’m excited to learn more about them, especially the eldest!
I was hooked on this from the start. It was dark, action-packed, emotional, and everything else in between. You couldn’t help but root for Bianca who is so much stronger than she realizes. At the same time I found myself swooning over Mason’s love and need to protect Bianca from the second they met. This author never misses and I’m so glad I’ve gotten to ARC read this entire series so far.
Anything E.M. Puts out I’m going to pause and read. Each book has its own way of just grabbing you and keeping you there to where you get to the end with a I need more and look I need more. I think this might be my favorite so far from this series and I do not accept book 4 being it lol.
It was such a heartfelt and nurturing read, it's ideal for people who are looking for a fast paced, loving yet passionate and spicy read! Really enjoyed the dynamic between Bianca and Mason King! Especially Mason's way of embracing Bianca as his brat 😏
