Dnf at 39% - eww

This book started off horrifically bad from the first sentence. I should have stopped there, knowing the FMC was starting out badly. I carried on, through terrible editing and jumbled details and a misnamed MMC. Soldiered through a bland, uninteresting wuss of an FMC, through emotionally constipated shallowly written MMCs. My last straw is the robotic, stunted and borderline nonconsensual intimacy scenes. There is zero relationship building, no emotion beyond borderline disdain, and non-existent communication. It took approximately 3 business days for the FMC to go from independent, self-sufficient and capable to a fleshy version of a blowup doll created by the MMCs literally commanding her compliance. This isn't a cozy romance novel, it's an homage to assault excuses.

A fantastic Omegaverse Romance!

Cassie coming to a small town in Maine and buying a foreclosure home was supposed to be a plan for her to figure out what she was going to do with herself after the airline she worked for wouldn’t clear her after being in a plane crash. What she didn’t count on was meeting her forever alphas and her own group of sheep. One thing leads to another and she finally figures out what she is good at and can do after the town finally welcomes her after realizing she is not going to be a slumlord over the house there. This was such a good story!

I thought the story idea was cute, but that it did not truly embody cozy omegaverse because of the non-existent emotional relationship development. And the FMC constantly being used physically felt dubcon in a way that did not align with the cozy sub genre imo.
Also, the chapters felt very disjointed. The progression of the plot was clunky, and there was really no full resolution by the end. And lots of errors, seemed like an ARC or even a final draft.

I’m only rating this high because the story was interesting. Mainly, the sheep and the spinning, and I don’t even participate in hobbies like that. I enjoyed the side characters and how so many in town were artisans, and the community coming together was a nice touch to build out the world.

This really needs a good editing. And an actual ending. It feels like the book ends mid-scene. There are sentences up through the middle of the story that just do not make sense. There are editing strike through’s left in the file. Midway those start to end, but then the story just ends in a weird spot. It feels unfinished.

Then, there’s the intimate scenes. They all start the same, doesn’t matter which MMC. He asks if she’s wet, and then say some really weird and crude things. Like, don’t get me wrong, I only read smutty Omegaverse books, I’m not a prude. But, they were just off putting and not very sexy. It felt almost coercive. There are non-intimate scenes where an MMC uses a tone/bark and she thinks “yes, Alpha,” like she’s under command. That same text type is used during the intimate scenes. Just makes it seem like they’re pushing. And once they start getting it on, it’s only what the alphas want. How they want it.

i kinda liked this book... i think... mostly

unfortunately the MMCs went from having separate personalities in the beginning to being written in the exact same tone & lost all of their different qualities that made them interesting.

some of the scenes were also a little confusing and didn't seem to flow together very well. & the abrupt ending was very unsatisfying 😵‍💫

i did like that everyone was kinda artsy & there was definitely some whimsy involved in the townspeople.

but also, treating a lone omega like crap in the beginning was very annoying to me like pls use context clues & not be a douche to someone for no reason.

& i also really HATED the way they treated carmine after cassie's heat. she literally just pulled in the driveway and asked for name confirmation, and cassie was a total bitch to her for no reason. did NOT like that at all. perfectly okay to ask someone to leave your property if you're uncomfortable with them being there, but wow i would've flipped my shit on her if i had been carmine 😭 like who tf are you talking to like that? be fr. major ick

& the use of "yes, alpha" ....... i'm giving massive side-eye for that

Spicy Cute

This....was so not what I was expecting! Very good and pretty much hit everything on the storyline checklist. I liked how most of the misunderstandings or issues were taken care of in their due time. The backstories for the characters aren't super indepth, but still enough to give insight into why they act the ways they do.
I feel super bad for our fmc, her family is pretty awful, buy she handles them quite well. I love her interactions with Bernadice and I think they will be besties.
Honestly, the flow worked well. I feel the beginning took a little to take off, but then I was on that slide to smooth sailing and next thing I knew, the book was at the end! I feel like it kinda ended abruptly, but also is leaving things open for more world building.
Overall very cute, love the sheep! And the spice was spicy. A different take on omegaverse and I enjoyed the journey.

This is just kind of weird. It’s supposed to be a cozy romance, but it’s really not at all.
I have a huge problem with the dubious consent. They show up and are like, you want to have have sex now and she’s immediately like, yeah, you’re right, I’ll say yes to everything you command (not ask, command). She’s immediately turned into an object for them the first time they’re all in a room together. They all say they’re hesitant about having a relationship with an Omega, but are sure happy to take her pants off without introductions.
It could’ve definitely benefited from another round of editing, on top of that. There are strike-throughs left in, there are paragraphs where the information is clearly out of order.
Oh, and the men’s ejaculate is described as being cold multiple times. I think that might be a medical condition. And they call her slick “glaze” more than once, and since I was already irritated at the book, that bothered me, too.

odd read but interesting

there were parts of those that were enjoyable, and then I felt the tone of the story shifted very abruptly, especially during intimate scenes. Also, I think this is maybe more of a preference versus a need to be critical of the author, but I did not enjoy how intimate scenes between the Omega and Alpha’s were portrayed. I did not feel comfortable with how Omega’s were supposed to be just submissive in the way this author wrote it. It made it feel like the female main character did not have much choice. Also, I think during the initial intimacy, I got a little confused, because it seems like Cassie goes into this like traced stupor when she reads her alphas and it makes me wonder about consent for that intimate situation. The textile and fiber craft aspect of the story is unique and interesting, but I did not fully fall into the story being told.

I definitely enjoyed this book.

Cassie definitely had a reason to try & settle somewhere away from her family after a horrible crash that caused her to no longer be able to be a flight attendant.

She never expected a run down house with a yard full of sheep.

And she definitely never expected three Alphas that she was absolutely drawn to.

They had instant chemistry that was so dang hot. And when she allowed her omega to fully come to the surface, she would so easily submit to these Alphas. It didn’t hurt that they made her feel seen & so safe.

Their entire connection was just so sweet. They had this fun banter that had me chuckling but then they stepped into those true Alpha roles & man was that hot.

I really enjoyed reading this book & would definitely recommend it.

Great job!

Yes and no

So.this book hooked me at spinning! As a life long fiberista that spins and prepares wool by hand I was so excited to see that featured! Sure tons knit but spinning!!! That's rare. Right down to collecting multiple wheels.
Cassie is an omega.wjo survived a plane crash and wants to escape her family. She buys a house and matches with some local alphas.
There is tons of smut and unlike most omeaverses she gets "blessed iut" during sex making her basically a living sex toy. It is a hair odd because she just... consents to everything with yes alpha. It feels pretty dubcon.
The story is good and lighthearted fun rven if sometimes Cassie is a bit mean. But I guess it tracks woth her experiences.
In the end. Pretty good. Lots of.points for featuring a rare hobby.

icky

I think if I heard the words knot, pussy and Alpha one more time I’d scream…over and over again..good god I got to 40% and it had more smutty sex scenes than most books I’ve finished…i can’t finish it..I’m no prude but I found it a bit degrading and a bit smutty…I’m not into smutt…I don’t mean it’s too dirty but just how it’s written…the story so far , I felt a bit uncomfortable reading the first sexual encounter..a bit grapey for me…:(. Also I didn’t really gel with the characters…not my sort of men…to pushy and how the author has written the omegas part is to whiny and simpering…
But if it’s your thing, enjoy

I DNF'd this one--and I almost never DNF. The FMC demonstrates bizarre behavior; she can stand up to some Alphas, but she is meek when she encounters the pack. She is independent enough to purchase a house, site unseen, but when one of the Alphas--who doesn't even want an Omega--comes into her space she immediately caves and does whatever he asks. After one sex scene, the Alphas are finished standing and leave her like a pile of goo outside in the dirt. I prefer OV where the Omega is strong enough to ask for what she wants and not just bend over (literally) when an Alpha asks.

This one is not for me.

good read.

Especially liked the back ground and history on omega/alpha relation being explained. It was a little much at the beginning but once the story started it dropped off and we got to see the story line really took off. Loved that Cassie was strong and independent and tried her best to be her own person and not just an omega. The guys also understood that and gave her room. Appreciated there was no 3rd act break up, just them growing together and helping each other to see their own potential. Loved the parallel drawn between Blythe & Cassie.

I've read a lot of omegaverse and the dialogue in this one is truly the most cringey I've ever read. It was so bad it was painful to read.

The author kept telling us one thing but then instantly contradicting it. For instance, we're told that one of the characters was so hurt by a previous breakup that he wanted to take a vow of celibacy and permanently kill his sense of smell so he wouldn't be sensitive to scents anymore but he was the first one to decide he wanted the FMC? It made zero sense. We were told who the characters were and then shown something entirely different.

perfect sweet spot!

This was a delightful read, and I kinda wished a second book in the series, which isn’t even even a series…….yet, detailing wedding shenanigans, family drama and babies (and even adding another mate or two, maybe bisexual…hmmmm, just a thought🤪. I definitely loved the alphas being intense/movin in quick on the omega, and her spinning was interesting to hear about.

This was a warm and fuzzy ending as well as spicy in the middle

The alpha dominant command was different from most omegaverse tales on romantic relations and took a bit to get comfortable with. When the alphas explained why knotting was emotionally important to alphas on the whole it became easier to grasp and less potentially demeaning or negative. The growth of characters and their relationships was great warming though so overall a solid positive.

Knots and Needles

Oh toodles! This was the cutest friggin thing I’ve read in ages and I want to deduct stars because that ending was far too abrupt. I need more of these crazy kids dang it! This is my first book from the author so I’ll keep this brief so I can go stalk her.

Cassie was an awesome omega and I won’t let anyone tell me differently. Her family can kick rocks.

the pack and Cassie

Not your typical Omegaverse. It really doesn’t have a happy ending. Nothing got closure, don’t know if they got married, had a party, if parents came around, did she start a store? The book is lots of whining, wet pants, and spice not much else. It had potential to be a romance but it’s missing stuff

Not a bad book, just doesn’t match the description of cozy I expected. This book was a DNF, so it might get better… but I was disappointed by the lack of emotional intimacy before they jumped to physical intimacy. I like how the characters gain personality (main and supporting), the focus on fiber arts, and the connection with the sheep!

Scratching my head

Seriously? That's how it ends?! I was king of expecting an epilogue or atleast another chapter to wrap it up a bit better.
I felt the book dragged on a bit. They seemed aggressive and competitive instead of a well oiled, in sync pack. 🤔
The bamter was ok it did feel a bot repetitive after a while though.

It was sweet

Do not go into thia with the typical omegaverse expectations. It was a sweet, erratic, and not the typical omegaverse story. There were a few times i wanted to hate the FMC or just scream at her but all in all it was a cute little book.

good

The only issue I have with this book is some of the Alpha Omega dynamics. Some of the sex kid reads as rape especially the first time in the book. Other wise the book was laugh out loud funny and endearing in some way.

Ugh...

What storyline there was took up maybe ten percent of the book. It felt more like p*orn. What was supposed to be spicy was actually cringy. Some phrases were so repetitive it was annoying. Alpha, Alpha, Alpha. Omega, Omega, Omega. Ad nauseum. Humiliation phrases. Squicky.

Dnf this was ick. Chapter 1 the alphas don’t want an omega. One second after meeting the FMC and they want her. The part where Cole tells her to get over and sit on him. Ew. No asking. Just demanding. Yuck

Not bad

This was a pretty good read, and the spice was spicin'. But it definitely could've used a few more rounds of editing. And it lacked any sort of bite or bond, which, for me at least, is what really makes OV

Needs Editing

There are multiple typos (including totally wrong words) and formatting issues. It is a cute story but does not have much plot. I wouldn’t say don’t read it but manage your expectations.

Decent writing but it would've been lovely to see more plot and less screwing. Plus, retrospective consent isn't a thing. If they have to break the FMC's door down while she's in heat to get to her after she deliberately left them... yeah, we call that something else.

Smutty cozy goodness

Fun read, just what I needed. Love a smutty, funny, cozy omegaverse where the men are all about her. Recommend for a good easy read.

Hot but not super well written

I like the story idea and the 🌶️ scenes were really hot however the story itself was not super well fleshed out and there were editing errors.
