The Night Stalker news team make their living chasing the supernatural and exposing the world’s strangest horrors. When they receive a desperate letter from a small-town teen claiming she’s turning into a vampire, they expect another hoax. What they find instead plunges them into a world of secrets and shadowy forces. Who is Gloria? A terrified girl begging to be saved… or a monster waiting to rise?
A razor-sharp blend of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The X-Files, and Scooby-Doo, Fang Gloria is a wickedly fun, blood-soaked tale of temptation, survival, and the monsters we fight—inside and out.
A. M. Wiley is a self-proclaimed movie buff, rollerblader, and nostalgia junkie. He spends his time digging through the crypts of local used bookstores or reminiscing to his wife and three sons about the “good ol’ days.”

Woah! This book RULES! I was so fortunate to receive an ARC of this from Mr. Wiley, and picked it up at the perfect time. I really needed a palate cleanse from some of the heavier, more dense series: something short, punchy, different, but that really set it's hooks in me....and MAN did this deliver! As silly as it may sound, I've really been looking for an excellent vampire story. This was the perfect blend of The Lost Boys, Buffy, Scooby-Doo, Stranger Things, The X-Files, with a touch of The Goonies, and with all of the terror from Silver Bullet. Needless to say, not only did this check every box, but it exceeded every expectation. Technically, this is a sequel to Wiley's novel The Heart Taker, but it COULD be read as a standalone. But take my advice: read The Heart Taker first! Yes, there's enough context to know what has taken place previously, but it doesn't even come close to the experience you'll have reading this in conjunction with The Heart Taker. There is one character who is even more wicked and menacing than I could've thought. And how about thay ending?!?! I won't give anything away, but if you like the aforementioned movies, loved the 80s and 90s monster flicks with some coming of age, don't sleep on this one!
Do yourself a favor and pick this up on release day, March 18th! If you read this and disagree, then your opinion is incorrect.
What an absolute trip Fang Gloria is. I am an ENORMOUS A.M. Wiley fan, especially through his amazing Weird Space series. But here he comes with an expanding universe sequel in his Night Stalker series, started with the great The Heart Taker, and I was just blown away.
The Night Stalker team we were introduced to in The Heart Taker is back, and they are essentially a new age Ghostbuster team, tracking down stories about creatures of darkness as kind of holy vanquishing journalists. How fun is that?
That is what this is. Fun! With the biggest capital F. Wiley thrives on giving you nostalgia pangs, and as the Night Stalkers investigate the titular Gloria’s vampiric situation, I had pangs of Buffy, True Blood, and the Lost Boys…but with a seething violent seriousness that really elevates the action and terror. It is that which brings this to the next level.
And the Universe building? Don’t get me started. It is PERFECT. I have been badgering Wiley to get to work on Weird Space 3….but now I’m equally excited to get back to the Night Stalker world! Sooooooo good!!!
There’s something deliciously nostalgic about Fang Gloria by A.M. Wiley. From page one, it feels like you just climbed into a beat-up van with your best friends, flashlight in hand, chasing a legend everyone swears isn’t real… until it is. Set against eerie cornfields, a looming old farmhouse, and moonlit backroads, this book blends campfire urban legend energy with creature feature chaos. The atmosphere? Thick. Foggy. Suspiciously quiet. The kind of quiet where you know something is breathing just beyond the tree line. Wiley captures that classic “small-town mystery gang” vibe but cranks up the danger. The tension builds like footsteps behind you in the dark playful at first, then suddenly very real. There’s a fun, pulpy horror charm here, but don’t get it twisted… Fang Gloria has teeth.
What I loved most: • 🦇 The retro monster-movie feel • 🌕 The creepy rural setting • 🔦 That nostalgic “we shouldn’t be here” energy • 🩸 Creature horror with a fun twist
It feels like watching a Saturday morning cartoon that accidentally wandered into the horror aisle spooky, adventurous, and just campy enough to keep you grinning while clutching your blanket.
Fang Gloria is book two in A.M. Wiley's heart taker series. However, this book does work as a standalone - providing key information that catches you up to where the characters are presently.
The Night Stalkers is a team of journalists looking to expose the supernatural. When a call comes in about a teenager who is on the verge of transforming into a vampire, the crew is all over it. Jack, Deb and Curtis race against time to help Gloria stop her transformation and uncover the society of vampires turning the town's youth into blood thirsty monsters.
This book reminded me a lot of reading Christopher Pike and R.L. Stine when I was young. It's campy and funny but also delivers on some pretty outrageous gore. Although this book doesn't stray from your typical tropes and the ending leaves a lot to be desired the book is fast paced, fun and reminiscent of the glory of 80's horror.
Unfortunately, I found the ending to nearly ruin the book for me, making me hesitant to continue this series. If you're looking for something inventive and challenging, this may not be for you. However, if you find comfort in 80's-90's nostalgia and watch The Lost Boys on repeat - you'll probably have a good time.
As I am a sucker (no pun intended) for vampire stories, I was very excited and honored when Wiley asked if I wanted to read an ARC of his new novel. I loved 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫, so getting to read the sequel early, I jumped at the opportunity. And it absolutely delivered!
Think Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Scooby-Doo, and you have Fang Gloria.
The Night Stalker news team — chasing stories of the supernatural — receives a letter from a scared teen in need of help, thinking she’s turning into a vampire. And of course the team goes to help. This could be the story of a lifetime. But will they be alive to tell it?
Wiley’s writing is very vivid and cinematic, pulling you right into the world of the Night Stalker team. The tension builds with every chapter, and once the action really gets going, it doesn’t slow down. From a brutal and bloody Halloween party scene, to the intense final act.
If you enjoy vampire stories with strong friendships and high stakes, this one’s for you!
It feels like ages since I’ve stayed up all night to see what happens in a book! Actually, the last time I did that, I was a teenager—now I’m 43. Fang Gloria did just that for me!
I’ve been a fan of Anne Rice, Mystery Inc., Nancy Drew, Goosebumps, and many others since I was a kid, and there hasn’t been a horror/thriller/mystery that has captured me like Heart Taker (the prequel to Fang Gloria) until Fang Gloria.
Fang Gloria brings you love, thrill, horror, drama, mystery, action, and victory all packed in a few hundred pages. A.M. Wiley is truly honing his storytelling skills, making his characters even more interesting. I am seeing a budding complexity in the characters and I can’t wait to see how much they grow throughout the series.
Reading this felt like coming home from middle school, grabbing a snack, running to my room, and jumping on my bed to read without any distractions. Nostalgia in its best form! Loved, Loved, Loved.
Fang Gloria by A.M. Wiley is another absolute banger and officially the fourth of his I’ve devoured. He knows exactly how to blend heart, horror, and that scrappy underdog energy that makes you want to fist pump while something with fangs lunges out of the dark.
This one feels like a blood-soaked love letter to The Monster Squad and The Lost Boys. It’s got that ragtag crew camaraderie, that most hateable villain, and vampires who are catastrophic.. Wiley injects his own feral voice into every page.
The action rips. The dialogue is fantastic. And beneath the carnage, there’s real emotional weight. That ending left me completely speechless and honestly I was pacing with my kindle. I was there staring at the last page, sad that I have to freaking wait to see what happens next. Fang Gloria proves again that Wiley doesn’t miss!
