This book is based on love, secrets and lies. Intense. Emotional. Raw. Unhinged. Stone lives up to his namesake until he begins to crack and his world starts splitting all around him.
Stone- Devoted, loyal, powerful, and in love with his half sister. He’s treated like filth and his father thinks him a bastard.
Sienna- Protective, caring and understanding. For Stone there is nothing that she wouldn’t do. She loves him and knows it’s wrong but she does not care.
When the family starts noticing that Stone and Sienna are getting closer, they put a plan in motion that keeps them apart.

This was raw & ansgty and omg I absolutely devoured this. Stone's dedication & obsession with Sienna was so good, and I just loved Sienna too. The spice was just full of longing/love/passion/anger... SO good. The audio book was incredible. The narrators picked (James Cassidy & Desiree Ketchum) were absolutely perfect and they did well making me literally feel all the feels while listening to this. Thank you BJ for the ALC ♥️

Stone is a character built on lies and loyalty to a family that may not even be his. As everything he thought he knew about his life begins to unravel, the only truth he’s certain of is Sienna. His need to protect her—and claim her—creates such a dark and gripping dynamic.
Sienna has loved Stone from the very beginning, seeing the man beneath the cold, hardened exterior everyone else feared. When she’s taken from him in the name of La Familia, their already complicated relationship becomes even more dangerous. Stone was a gritty and intense read! You will definitely want to check the TWs before you start it.

Our MMC, Stone has suffered from years of abiding to the Don’s every command and sadistic punishment. This trauma has left Stone broken and nearly void of emotions. The only thing keeping Stone from breaking entirely are his feelings for his half-sister, our FMC Sienna.
Both MCs love and care desperately for each other, but also struggle with the forbidden aspect of their attraction.
As the story develops, the intensity and heat rises. The Don plans to marry Sienna off to another man and attempts to coordinate a “job” for Stone that would place his life in significant danger.
When Stone returns home, he discovers Sienna has been married off and sent away. This causes Stone to officially snap and leave to get Sienna back.
A major plot twist is soon discovered and with the assistance of a rival mafia family Stone finally gets his revenge.
If you have the opportunity to listen to the audiobook, do it! The performances by James Cassidy and Desiree Ketchum are phenomenal. Both truly brought the characters to life. In their performances, you could almost feel the pain and suffering Stone endured and the heartbreak Sienna suffers seeing Stone mistreated. Cassidy did a fantastic job portraying a possessive yet controlled alpha MMC. And Ketchum perfectly portrayed a sensitive yet strong FMC.

This is a dark, taboo romance between the man only known as Stone and Sienna. Sienna is his light in the darkness, but she is forbidden to him. He doesn't remember his past, though. All he knows is his current life where he is tortured and used as a fighter.
The duet narration from James Cassidy and Desiree Ketchum sold this narration for me. They both absolutely slayed their performances. James is so good at these dark, unhinged, pained characters. Desiree's sweet voice was perfect for Sienna, showing both her strength and vulnerability.

Having such phenomenal voice actors perform this dark and thrilling romance just elevates the entire storyline making it that much more powerful and emotionally compelling.
James Cassidy is a freaking superstar… his performance of Stone was truly incredible. He is able to bring all the deepest darkest emotions into the light… performing with such rawness, intensity and passion. He never fails to amaze and utterly wreck me.
All the supporting characters are equally amazing and portrayed with utter clarity and brilliance.
This man is quite simply, phenomenal!!
Desiree Ketchum’s performance is absolutely amazing and truly astonishing. Sienna, is a complex character. Her caring and gentle demeanor is palpable. Desiree, portrays her Mafia princess character to perfection giving her beautiful strength and resilience. All the supporting characters are performed with equally as much passion and grace. She is an incredibly actor and it shows within her abilities in this incredible narrative.
The relationship between our MMCs is a complicated one. Being pulled apart. They are thrown on a rollercoaster ride, that is filled with deep raw emotional tension, forbidden feelings, and spicy scenes. Unexpected twists …holy moly! Watch out!

I went into this story expecting a dark mafia romance, but what I found was something far heavier and far more emotional than I was prepared for. The deeper I got into Stone’s life, the more I realized he was never given the chance to become anything other than what he was forced to be. Chapters 25 and 36 hit me the hardest. I had to pause after both of them. The way he was raised, the abuse he endured, it honestly made me sit there and wonder how he found the will to keep going at all.
When James Cassidy narrated those scenes, especially the ones where Stone speaks about being SA’d, it was almost unbearable in the best, most honest way. The emotion in his voice felt raw and real. There was no dramatizing it. No overacting. Just this heavy, restrained pain that made my stomach turn. The things that were done to Stone were beyond evil, and the way James delivered those moments made me feel physically sick. It didn’t feel like performance. It felt lived in. That kind of narration makes a story stay with you.

Stone is a survivor in every sense of the word. The things he was subjected to weren’t just torture. They included violations of the deepest kind, the sort of invasive, dehumanizing cruelty meant to break a person from the inside out. Stone endured physical, emotional, and intimate violations that no human being should ever face.
I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to cry just hearing what had been done to him. It’s a painful reminder that evil people like the ones who held him really do walk this earth and often face no consequences. Through all of that, Stone still fights for the life and woman he wants, Sienna. The one person who’s ever made him feel anything is suddenly ripped out of his reach, forcing him to confront the lies he was built on and the truth he’s terrified to face.
The narration by Desiree Ketchum and James Cassidy is exceptional. They bring a level of emotional precision that makes the story feel lived-in rather than performed. Their voices carry the weight of Stone’s trauma, the flickers of resilience, and the fragile moments of connection with such care that it elevates the entire experience.
As for Azrael… I don’t like that man at all, but I’m absolutely looking forward to his story. If anyone needs a redemption arc, it’s him, and I need to see whether he can earn it.

This book is fuelled with spice, passion, deception and yes well you guessed it trouble and action as it is a mafia romance. If you like dark romance with some marfia drama then this the book for you. The MMC does go through some tough situations and some very dark situations throughout this book. His family does put him through some situations that will have you questioning if they are his family or if they are his enemy. You will have to read the book and listen to the audio when it comes out. The book however is available i believe on Amazon.
Lucky enough to have received the ALC for this allowed me to hear the brilliant talent of Desiree Ketchum as Sienna and the ever talented James Cassidy as Stone. The way that Desiree takes the role of sienna and brings all the emotion to that role had me feeling the desire and pain she felt towards Stone. Mother of all twists!!! WOW!!
It’s time to meet the cruel Carrera family and Stone is the first member to be introduced. He is raised as a second class citizen due to him being a “bastard” child in the Carrera family. He is punished, tortured and abuser by his “father” while his only happy memories are on the hands of Sienna.
Sienna takes the job of caregiver avoiding raising suspicion her dad as to how close of a bond she shares with Stone. Their journey to each other is painful, full of secrets and deception but totally worth the scares left on them.
I devoured Stone’s story, but it was so hard to read everything he endured🥺 BJ did a phenomenal job showing all the hardships Stone had to endure that carved him to be the man that never breaks.
The narration was performed by Desiree Ketchum and James Cassidy.
They did a fantastic job acting all the emotions Sienna and Stone experienced. They kept the story alive and made it easier to connect with the characters. The audiobook was produced as a duet so it couldn’t be anymore perfect!
If you are after your next audiobook I recommend you pick up Stone, it is a standalone, but book 1 in the Carrera Family Series. Although I despised the rest of the family we saw glimpses of some of their acting towards Stone so I look forward to finishing the series.

Desiree Ketchum and James Cassidy are two of my all time favorite narrators, and getting to listen to then together was such an amazing experience. These two narrators can make take an emotional scene from the pages of a book and make it feel like you're experiencing it along with the characters. And the way they narrated Stone and Sienna was like a punch to the heart.
Whether you read or listen to it, this book is HARD. Stone's story is sad and full of trauma. He is the b@stard child of an evil man, who treats him in the most horrible way. His only light is Sienna, who just so happens to have the same father. We do love a forbidden romance, don't we?
This put me through all the emotions you can imagine. I raged and cried for both mc's. But all of it is worth the beautiful hea they have.

Overall Thoughts: Ive listened to most of BJ’s audios and I have to say this one is my current favorite. I loved everything about this book, the story, the narrations, the spice, the surprises, EVERYTHING! I appreciate that there is a plot along with a substantial amount of spice. The angst is off the charts and will keep you in a chokehold all the way through. The m@fia world she has built is intricate and the unexpected connections make these so fun to listen to. Desireé is a fantastic narrator and her voice brings Sienna to life. James is so amazing with the gruff, emotionally damaged, rage machine that is Stone. I recommend listening to the other audios as this one will be more impactful if you do.

Stone is a tortured soul who is loyal and devoted wholly to Sienna. As the princess of the family, Sienna is expected to be quiet and submissive. She is both, but she’s also strong and fierce. Can these two characters overcome all the obstacles standing in their way?
The duet narration by Desiree Ketchum and James Cassidy was beyond extraordinary. Desiree Ketchum was absolutely delightful as kind, sweet, caring, protective Sienna. Her sweet, caring nature, kindness, sass, passion and love were all clearly evident in her voice. James Cassidy was positively divine as tortured, obsessed, possessive Stone. The growly, commanding tone he used with Sienna was swoon worthy. They brought this story to life magnificently. I highly recommend listening to this audiobook.

DNF'D at 33% and here is why
This was totally a "me problem". I thought I could push past the fact that they were "siblings" I could not. Now let me be very clear they are not true siblings! however, they were raised to believe that they were half siblings and still acted upon feelings knowing they were "related" again there were trigger warnings, and I thought I could muscle past this, and it would be fine. it was not lol. I was honestly thinking "oh the author is going to make this easy to digest" "it will be fine" How I thought it was gonna go. it did not. Again, not the authors fault this was all reader error. It was not for me, and I can't move past it. but please if you love a great taboo. I have heard BJ Alpha is your girl.
James Cassidy and Desiree Ketchum are the narrators for this audio and they are amazing!! to be honest they were both the reason I wanted to muscle though a trigger for me. I learned my lesson. I cannot muscle through. it's a 2 star simply because I didn't finish. the writing and the spice from when I called it quits was totally on par.

This was Fun, dark, dirty and heartbreaking. I went into the audobook blind other than dark mafia and never have reading this author before. I was taken back with how much I loved it. I really enjoyed the style of writing and the storytelling. I really liked the plot and its twists. The taboo nature of this story hooked me. This story had more emotion than I was expecting it to have. The tension and pinning kept the emotions high and the story is intense and deep.
Stone was complex and broken and so beautiful soul. His only light is Sienna, he truly loves her with his whole being. My heart hurt for him. Sienna is a force to be reckoned with, he need to have a love Stone burns so bright in this story. I love them together. And they are absolutely hot together. This book had no right being so hot.

They embody they emotions written and brought them to life. This felt cinematic. The passion, power and even soft gentleness came through perfectly.
