This story would not be so bad, if the author would break up the characters in sectiong. Although the story continues, it would set the stage. Next time, get an editor.
3.00 Stars. (BW/AM). Kindle unlimited e-book. This short introductory to The Storytellers Series, is well written and does what most serial openers do...introduce the main characters, lay the foundations for the main characters arc and for the direction the storyline will take. The heroine, Nehteri, is a skilled and respected warrior in her country and has been tasked with protecting her Pharaoh’s two daughters as they sail to Cyprus to visit his third daughter. During the course of this voyage, their ship is attacked, boarded and all passengers are held in captivity. Nehteri is held in an area where she observes the fighting skills of these samari warriors and she secretly starts to practice in their style. The hero, Jiang, an accomplished warrior favored by the Emperor, joins Nehteri and the two practice together. This book spans four years: Nehteri is nineteen when captured and she is 23-years old when Jiang leaves to fight in one of the Emperor’s wars, Jiang is 27-years-old. Nehteri and Jiang had been practicing together for several months before the Emperor warned Jiang to end their sessions; shortly after their shared practices ended, Jiang goes to war and ends this installment of their story.
I am not a fan of serials, it was sometimes hard to tell who was speaking/thinking but both stories were compelling, imma bit confused at where they sit in the timeline but look forward to the rest of the series
Such an addictive book. This book drew me in and I couldn't put it down!It is a short serial book, cliffhanger ending so there is that lol.But it has 2 stories, both stories are amazing! I have to find out more about this author.
The stories definitely grabbed my attention and right as swipped with bated breath , The End. Why? Why? Why? Are these samples from actual novels? I hope so because the endings were disappointing.
