Shifters Sanctuary #4

His Dragon Duo

Rate this book
Two young, virile dragon mates? This unicorn shaman did knot see that coming!

Sage Weldman loves Shifters Sanctuary. He loves living with his brothers and being a part of a pack, especially one where everyone is treated as equal, rather than placed in an antiquated hierarchy based on their secondary designation. As an omega, that’s important to him.

According to the silver fox (well, unicorn, actually) shaman, Sergio, that balance is important to Magic itself, too.

But Sage wants the life his older brother has. He wants a mate. He wants babies of his own. And he’s also kind of maybe (just maybe) a little bit in love with his best friend, Dexter.

But Dexter is an omega like him, and they have history. So pining is as far as it goes. Until it’s not…and Sergio comes along for the ride.

After a series of unexpected events, Sergio, Dexter and Sage find themselves questioning Magic and Fate. But what does this mean for Sage’s dreams of settling down and starting a family, when Dexter has made his feelings on fatherhood clear for hundreds of years, and Sergio considers himself past his prime?

Of course, Fate and Magic might just make the decision for them.

His Dragon Duo is a sweet and steamy Omegaverse MMM Mpreg romance featuring dragons, unicorns, an eclectic pack, found family vibes and so much melodrama that it might as well be a soap opera.

Review of advance readers copy received by the author

I love to be back in Shifters sanctuary - in my omegaverse, shifter, mpreg bubble with dragons, wolves, unicorns and all these amazing guys.

I already devoured every book in this series and Sage, Dex and Sergio right now together make me tremendously happy.

Who knew snarky Dex had such a caring sweet side to him…

Or that Sage, who always seems so adulty, calm and controlled, has such a soft side to him. That he wants to be pampered and be taken care of and blooms in the middle! of his two mates.

Not to forget our silver fox Sergio, the 700 years old unicorn shifter… still so hot and very bendy…Yowser!!! I mean, grey chest hair above all these muscles 🫠 (yap, that’s how I picture him!) No wonder Dex and Sage are completely gone for him!

Two dragons, one unicorn, lots and lots of heat, b0ning- sorry autocorrect BONDING“ 😉, a surprise pregnancy, the additional scary excitement and so much love….I can recommend to read it immediately….

Thank god there is magic for a three way bond 💗💗💗 and that these shifters live a looooong life… my life definetly is so much better with all of them in it.

Shifter Sanctuary the place to be

Review of an advance copy by the author.

This book was just what I needed. Dex and Sage are fun and love the relationship between them. Sergio knows how to handle them both and it is wonderful that they are so excepting of each other.

Sergio is a funny alpha and love the way he and Dexter interact with each other, it is funny and sweet. Sage definitely brings out their soft side and love that he got his dream.

Will definitely recommend

This was sooooo good! I haven’t read the other books in the series but I definitely didn’t feel lost at all in this one. I loved the world building and of course the shifter / alpha/ omega / beta dynamic that I loved so much!
Sage and Dexter have a complicated past and Dex suffers when he regrets Sage, but they are trying to rebuild their friendship slowly despite Sage still having feelings for Dex.
When they are paired up to investigate an unlocking party, Dex unexpectedly goes into heat and declares his feelings for Sage.
Meanwhile, the shaman unicorn shifter Sergio is visiting and stumbles upon the two omegas while Dex is in heat. Feelings for both men are apparent for Serge, although he is reluctant due to their age gap. However Sage and Dex share none of Serge’s reluctance and soon we have ourselves a cute little throuple.
These three are cute, funny and spicy as hell. I loved their dynamic- how Serge was a calming influence on the boys and how Dex was the mischievous one. Overall this was an enjoyable read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh this one is my favorite of the series! I loved this messy, complicated throuple so much. They each had their own hang ups and insecurities they had to work through, but together they found a balance to keep them grounded.

Dex was the one who needed to work on himself the most. After spending a century regretting his choices, he had to learn how to cope with the consequences of his actions. Actions that isolated him from the one being that made him whole.

Being apart from Sage for so long hurt more than he could have imagined. Rejecting him all those years ago took a part of him he never thought he’d get back.

Sage had been in love with Dex for a hundred years. No matter how much time passed, he never got over him. Mending their broken relationship wasn’t easy, but not having Dex in his life was too hard.

When the pack needs help tracking down the people trying to hurt them, Dex and Sage have to work together. It is this close proximity that makes Dex finally accept the truth he denied himself all those years ago.

And when Sergio, an older shaman enters the mix, things go from complicated to down right chaotic. Not only is Sergio also a unicorn, but he’s the biological father of one of the pack members. But even so, Sage feels an unexplainable pull towards the man that rivals his feelings for Dex.

Dex is on the same boat as Sage. He can’t understand why he doesn’t just want Sage. He wants Sergio too. But Sergio isn’t sure he’s good enough for Dex and Sage. He’s way too old for them, but his unicorn wants them both and he doesn’t want to deny him.

Sage has always wanted one thing. To have a family of his own. Something Dex would never give him and the reason for their fallout. But everything changes when Dex goes into heat and Sergio is the one to help him.

An unexpected surprise changes everything for them all. Not only are they mates but Sergio is the key to making Sage’s dreams come true. Dex knows how much Sage has yearned for a child and he wants nothing but to see his mate happy.

I loved Dex’s character growth. He went from an insensitive person to one who was humble and mindful of how he treated others. Losing what mattered to him most was the kick he needed to get his head out of his you know what 😂

I have loved and enjoyed this series so much. I’m sad that it’s over but so happy of how it ended.

The story of Dex and Sage and the fulfillment of what led to their breakup 100 years ago, all precipitated by the reemergence of Sergio, the unicorn beta with the Magic to unlock hidden alphas, was a series of right time, right place events with unexpected outcomes. Shifters Sanctuary is continuing to function well as a pack as Eric and Brandt carry on with their research into identifying potential alphas in betas and humans. Dex and Sage help with research while rebuilding their relationship and pining for each other through the attraction between them that is still there after all this time. Dex has had repercussions in his life over the last 100 years due to the choices he made, ones which he hasn’t shared with Sage, but with new developments, there is hope that may change. Unlocking Parties to help identify latent alpha designations continue, with illegal scent blockers at the parties becoming a more concerning problem for the pack as more and more surface at the events. The unexpected return of Sergio and his Magic starts a series of events with consequences for Dex, Sage, and Sergio as usual routines, expectations and designations are suddenly challenged overnight, and a new dynamic between them will change their lives forever.

A lot is going on in the background, all to help support and hinder the new, and unexpected, relationship between Dex, Sage and Sergio, as their personal situation gets overshadowed by the need for Sergio to help the packs in Europe gain the knowledge to start to unlock latent alphas, while still continuing to track down the illegal blocker suppliers at home, all culminating in danger for Sage, while his family and pack have his back. (I personally was in favor of Dex’s solution, but agree it really wasn’t a prudent one at this stage.). But all’s well that ends well, Dex, Sage and Sergio have their bond, and Sage has his heart’s greatest desire. There is a novella coming next, but I hope Eric is up next after that to have his world upended with an alpha in there somewhere for him.

I enjoy the characters and settings for these books, the additional information we learn about past characters and emerging ones, and the ongoing story of unlocking alphas and restoring them to this world. The potential is there for things to heat up outside Shifters Sanctuary, for more threats from the Moonmusic cult to develop, and for more secrets to unfold in the Sanctuary itself, all possible storylines to move the series forward. I’m looking forward to whatever comes next. I received an ARC from the author and this is my voluntary review.

Such a lovely story, I'm glad I had the opportunity to read it.
Before going into my review, I have to say that I read only the second book of this series and that there are a lot of characters' stories that I missed. But despite that, the author is great at connecting all the previous events, so I could still follow the development of the story.

Sage and Dexter, both dragon shifters and omegas, have been best friends for centuries. They had a fallout at some point, because Sage confessed his love for Dex but he completely rejected him, stating that a relationship between two omegas would have been unnatural and unfulfilling.
As a result, Dex's inner dragon retreated and he's been miserable since then, even then they have started mending things.

Sergio is a unicorn shifter, a shaman and a beta. He helped Brandt and Eric to set the Unlocking Parties, where new alphas are supposed to be revealed.

When Dex unexpectedly goes into heat, both Sage and Sergio are there to help him. But during their intimacy, Sergio's alpha is unlocked and the three of them establish a strong connection.

I really liked how the alpha's unlocking happened, how they were all connected to make that happen. In the same way, I loved how the pregnancy was a result of all of them, not just of the alpha and one omega. It was like all of them conceived the child.

What prevented me from giving a higher rate:
I had trouble connecting with Sergio at some point: I get that he believed to be a beta for centuries so he didn't act like an experienced alpha, but, at the same time, it should have been unbearable to him to left his omegas, even if they weren't bonded yet. That pull towards them came from his inner alpha who, experienced or not, was still very demanding and impossible to ignore.

I liked the banter between the three brothers, the strong friendships inside the pack and also the feeling of being all part of the same family, even if there are different species among them.

I look forward to reading Eric's story, since he seems very determined to avoid finding his own mate. I hope his book will be released soon.

I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my honest review.

I just love this series by Anna and this was a fun return to Shifters Sanctuary, honestly, being back in this world with all its chaos, magic, and found family just feels like coming home.

Sage, Dex, and Sergio completely stole my heart. I’ve always liked Sage, but getting to see how much he longs for a family and a mate added a softer, more vulnerable layer to him that I really loved. And Dex? He surprised me the most. Beneath all that snark is someone deeply loyal and caring, even if it takes him a while to fully admit what he wants.

Sergio was the standout for me though. There’s just something about an older, confident character who thinks his time has passed, only to be proven very wrong. He brought a different kind of warmth and balance to the trio, and the dynamic between all three of them felt surprisingly natural.

The relationship development was messy in the best way, full of hesitation, longing, and emotional push-and-pull before everything finally clicks into place. Once it does, the bond between them feels strong and genuinely earned.

There’s plenty of drama, a bit of chaos, and all the over-the-top moments you expect from this series, but it’s balanced with a lot of heart. If you’re here for found family, unconventional bonds, and a sweet-but-steamy romance, this definitely delivers. Exceptional read!

4.5/5 I’ve been looking forward to Sage and Dex getting their book for ages, and this didn’t disappoint. I liked the revelation they needed Sergio to make a relationship work, so it wasn’t just about them messing up in the past.

I enjoyed how Dex and Sage are very different omegas (an always appreciated reminder that designation doesn’t mean one rigid set of behaviours or expectations). There’s a bit of uncertainty on each person’s side about their worthiness to be in the relationship, but I enjoyed watching them all work through it—as well as Dex’s work to show the pack a different side of himself.

There’s one thing that happens that made me really annoyed with a character (while also being very sympathetic to their upset, lol. It was lots of contrary feelings!) I was very glad when that got straightened out. It feels like we’re really starting to see (creeping) societal change by this point, which is awesome.

Looking forward to more Shifters Sanctuary!

I love all of Anna’s books, and this one was no different. It was the perfect blend of fluff, spice, emotion, and suspense + omv, dragons, unicorns, and mpreg; what’s not to love? I was instantly intrigued when I met Dex in previous books, and his relationship with Sage has been a roller coaster. After over a century, they finally work it all out thanks to Sergio popping up and balancing them all out. It was a “right person, wrong time” moment, but they found their right time in the end. And Sage got his lifelong wish! The reveal was crazy. Omg, I could talk about this book, honestly all of Anna’s books, for forever, but just know it was fantastic and I highly recommend!

Sage longs for a mate and a family of his own, even while secretly pining for his best friend Dexter — another omega who doesn’t want kids. When the older unicorn shaman Sergio gets pulled into their lives, unexpected magic forces all three to rethink Fate, their bond, and what a future together might look like.

Sage and Dexter have always shared an undeniable pull, and I loved how that connection only deepened once Sergio entered their lives. It takes the three of them a little while to realise that they’re not dealing with one mate bond but two, and once that truth settles, the story shifts into a wonderfully dramatic, almost soap‑opera‑like journey as they face challenge after challenge testing their new relationship. The plot is easy to follow, the emotions are clear, and the dynamic between the three men grows in a way that feels natural and satisfying. A warm, engaging read with plenty of heart. This was an MMM story with mature content that was set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

"His dragon duo" is book 4 in the "Shifters Sanctuary" series. You could read it as a standalone, all the backstory is explained, but I really think it's more fun if you read the books in order. There is an ongoing storyline throughout the series.
In this book we follow Dex and Sage, two omega dragon shifters, and Sergio a beta unicorn shifter who discovers he is actually a hidden alpha.
I really liked the chemistry between the three of them. Personally, I find omega/omega relationships the most interesting and they are my favorite but I liked them with Sergio a lot. Age gap is another favorite trope and Sergio is a lot older than his omega mates. The relationship was equal and I loved how he cared for them.
It was a great addition to the series, I liked how the ongoing plot progressed and I loved seeing all the characters from the previous books. I'm desperate for Eric's book. I can't wait to read his story.

Wonderful addition to an amazing series!

Anna Sparrows is one of my favorite authors, so I was sooooo excited to receive an early copy of the latest entry in her Shifters Sanctuary Series. His Alpha Unlocked (book 1) was my first introduction to omegaverse, and I have since devoured every entry into this amazing series.

In His Dragon Duo, we finally get the backstory between Dex and Sage that has been hinted at since book 1, and Serge (a unicorn shifter introduced in book 3) was the perfect edition to their dynamic. The book had same sweet romance, spicy times, and progressive world building that has defined the series. I finished within a day, and loved every bit of it. Really hope we get more on this series - I desperately want Eric to get a book!

If you enjoy sweet, spicy mpreg omegaverse this series is a must read!

Dex’s long-awaited story was absolutely worth it, bringing together Dex and Sage who are both omega dragons who have loved each other for years but never acted on it, along with Sergio, a beta unicorn shaman who unexpectedly completes their bond and even transforms into an alpha. I loved Dex from book 3 so much with his attitude that I loved getting to know him more in this book.

These three relationship unfolds in a way that feels both heartfelt and exciting. The dynamic between the three is sweet, funny, and full of chemistry, making them feel perfectly matched despite the odds. I loved seeing them finally get their happily ever after. Now I’m just excited to see what comes next in this series.

This book is part of an ongoing series that has a fascinating overarching plot. It has good world building and well developed characters. Sage and Dexter were estranged for a century after a falling out, but they are now making amends and confessing their romantic interest in each other. They are both omegas, and they never expected to get an alpha in Sergio. He is a shaman who is trying to balance out the Magic in the world by helping to bring back shifter alphas. I liked the banter, the caring, and the steam between the three of them. The rest of the characters really make the story. I've been enjoying the stories from Shifters Sanctuary, and I'm looking forward to more.

I was very happy to be back to this universe, and to finally have Sage and Dex story. As the other books in the series, this one is sweet, fun, full of feelings and steamy. I loved the three characters, their connection and how they complete each other. I also enjoyed reading about the secondary characters, the friendships and the world they are building. It's very entertaining and easy to read, I actually read it I one sitting.

It's the third book in the Shifters Sanctuary series, each book could be read as a standalone but I really think it is more enjoyable after reading the previous books.

I got an ARC and this is my honest review.

I loved this book! I am a huge fan of Anna Sparrows books and this one was so good! I love MMM books and this one was spicy and sweet in one. This book was spicier than Anna Sparrow's other books, but I am not complaining, it was hot!! I loved the relationship between Sage, Dex and Sergio, they were so sweet together. I enjoyed the spice, but this was also heartfelt and had me tearing up in certain areas as well. This was another great addition to the series and I can't wait for the next one. His Dragon Duo is the 4th book in the Shifters Sanctuary series. In my opinion this series is best read in order. This is an MMM book. This is the story of Sage an omega dragon shifter, Dexter an omega dragon shifter, and Sergio an beta or is he, unicorn shifter. This was quite the story but it was also very sweet. I can honestly say that I loved how in the first chapter gets you caught up on what happened in the other books. I loved how different Sage and Dexter are and it shows us that all omegas are different. There were times when I wanted to hug or hit all three of the guys. I loved the banter between the brothers. I always loved the spice in the story. I hope we get more stories in this series. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

In the long awaited book Dex, the omega dragon realizes Sage, another omega dragon is his mate. To their surprise, they have a third to bond with in Sergio, a beta unicorn shaman. In the joy of mating, Sergio transforms into an alpha. It's a miracle complicated by Sage wanting to bear children while Dex doesn't and Sergio worried he's too old for his mates. Fate has a hand in their happiness and their passion for each other bonds them into a strong and united throuple. I received a copy of this and this is my voluntary opinion.

I think this might be my favourite of the series so far. Which I wasn’t expecting because I’m not always the biggest fan of MMM or angst, and I was expecting a lot of angst around Sage and Dex. Very pleased to say that this is actually quite low angst. There’s a lot of healthy communication in this, and things develop quite early, so there’s not loads of push/pull. Add in Serge, and they were just perfect. I genuinely loved it and I’m really hoping for Eric’s book next!

I loved this story, I’ve always enjoyed stories about throuples. Dex and Sage’s story is so sad but add in Sergio who basically is a buffer of love between the two and you have an amazing story of survival and what love really means.

Another great thing was that through out the story they kept Dex’s wishes in mind and never pushed him to do something he didn’t want to do.

I also always enjoy seeing Ollie and Beck interacting!!

Hope we get another book in this wonderful story.

Thank you for the book; here is my honest opinion:
Great! This was such a fun read, I am really enjoying the cool and creative world building, excellent characters, excellent steam, and a touch of politics intrigue. There’s also a mountain of pining as Dex and Sage have big feelings they don’t know how to deal with- until Sergio. These three were fun together and I’m really enjoying how the setting and plot are expanding through the series.

If you’ve been following this series, you know that the fated mates pull in this world is intense and it’s 3x as much with this throuple dynamic. I adored Sergio, Dexter and Sage. The balance between the two protective dragons and their mate is so sweet. The Sanctuary is the perfect backdrop for characters who have spent their lives feeling like outcasts to finally find where they belong. True to Anna’s writing style, the spice is hot, but it’s the protective nature of Sergio & Dexter towards Sage that I really loved.

Watching these two powerful dragons create a safe space for their mate while navigating the dangers that threaten their sanctuary was so moving.

If you like:

✨ Obsessive/protective dragon shifters
✨ Fated mates
✨ Hurt/comfort
✨ Found family vibes

We finally have Sage’s book and it was worth the wait! I really enjoyed Serg, Dex and Sage together. Dex and Sage have been love with each other for years but did not do anything about as they were both omeags. Now, they have Sergio coming to Shifters Sanctuary to help with research and none had known that they were mates. This throuple is sweet, funny, steamy, and prefect for each other. I am so glad that these three were able to get an HEA and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I like that the first chapter catches you up on what's happened in previous books, so if this is the first book you happen to read in the series, you aren't lost as to some of the backstory. While the focus is on the relationship between Dex, Sage and Sergio, there are also other layers to this story and this series - like magic, the emergence of alpha's, crazy and dangerous fanatics, secrets, and more. I found this book to be interesting, it kept my attention throughout, and left me wanting more.

We finally find out what caused the rift between Dex and Sage and though it takes some time, it more than gets resolved - especially once Sergio becomes involved.
Dex and Sage are both omega's, but their personalities are quite different. Dex is a chaos causing diva hiding the soft, insecure side of himself. Sage is softer and longing to create a family. Sergio is a shaman, quite a bit older than Dex and Sage, but he and his calm nature are exactly what they need. One surprising night is all it takes for them to realize they are all meant to be together. Their journey has ups and downs, various doubts, revelations, steamy and spicy sexy times, a lot of heartfelt emotions and genuine feelings. Dex, Sage, and Sergio finally recongnizing that each one is integral to the whole, leads to a love that binds them truly.

I received an ARC, this review is my honest, unbiased opinio.

Sage, Dexter & Sergio

I love Shifters Sanctuary. Their community is so wonderful and happily well run. The Alpha is a wonderful leader, and doesn't override the very knowledgeable betas and omegas in his pack, which is half the issue their entire extended society is having with designations anyway. I love the dragon brothers, and I'm so happy we've been given the chance to explore Sage's story. His relationship with Dexter was so fraught with drama in the past (that we didn't learn the details of until this book) but knowing even before this that they had been best friends told us there was definitely something hiding beneath that heartache. Bringing Sergio back into the fold to balance out the two omegas was a lot of fun. It's been so long since Brandt's book that I hadn't recalled the connection between Sergio & the two dragons, but I'm sure if I went back, I'd remember.

His Dragon Duo was an incredible read although it definitely had its stressful points. I loved how strong each of the mates had to be for one another with the situations they found themselves in. The action and tension in this story kept me so engaged that I read it all in one sitting and I do not regret that at all.

I received an authorized copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

Sage, Dexter, and Sergio were absolutely perfect for each other.
They initially struggled but were able to overcome their obstacles in order to be the best mates for each other.
