Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this title. This is a quick read but not a light one. The author introduced me to a part of the world I know little of, and her description of the weather and the landscape is powerful. Demaris, her husband, and neighbors live with constant atmospheric extremes. There are abundant challenges, but comfort, care, and consolation are hard to come by. The story is haunting.
