Friends can totally fake date for a reality show…right?

Sweet and good-natured Becca has bailed out her toxic sister for the last time. Now, she’s itching to start over in her dream city and expand her teashop. The only problem? Her bank account is virtually empty.

Grumpy professional baker Noah has never lived up to his family's old-fashioned standards. Going on Canada’s most popular reality show might be the opportunity he needs to finally prove his worth.

There’s just one snag: the show is for couples only. His giant crush on Becca makes the decision to fake a relationship with her the obvious choice, and the prize money is too tempting for Becca to pass up. They’re a perfect match.

As the challenges heat up, so does their relationship, leaving both to wonder if they’re really faking it or if their sizzling on-camera chemistry has real-life potential.

Are they destined to win the competition and each other’s hearts? Or will their lie be exposed on national television and threaten the very fabric of their friendship?

this book was definitely something i didnt know i needed. like a reality tv baking show?? hellloo?? it was soo addicting and i got so invested, like i'm not kidding. genuinely finished it in an hour-ish.. it was really cute and i loved the lil baking elements.

⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧• noah baker
i loved the friends-to-lovers and fake dating combo so much! noah literally had a crush on becca for years but never told her bc he was afraid of rejection. and he also has slutty little glasses. the second half of the book was chef's kiss, iykyk!

⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧• becca browne
i loved how becca tried her very best to take care of her sister who's an alcoholic. but at the same time sometimes it's just impossible to help someone that doesn't want to be helped. and eventually becca cut her off when she realised she was just enabling her. i also loved how she ended up being more confident in herself during the baking show with noah's reassurance.

also ashley and nicholas sabotaging everyone?? i hated them but they were entertaining at the same time?

⤷ thank you to netgalley, the publisher and the author for providing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Bake it With Love by Luna Day was so cute! Friends to lovers at its finest! I loved Becca and Noah and Noah especially because he’s literally just the sweetest. He’s been in love with Becca since they met basically but never asked her out for fear of ruining their friendship. Noah is also a baker and wants to enter into the reality baking show in hopes of winning a big cash prize and also to get as much time with Becca as possible.

To Noah’s surprise, they get accepted onto the show and the competition quickly takes off. There are shenanigans and cheating and Ashley and Nicholas can piss right tf off. The mystery behind all the “mishaps” in the competition aren’t hard to solve at all but when justice is served on a piping hot baking sheet, it is very satisfying indeed.

Anyway, Becca and Noah start to realize that their chemistry is really on fire! I mean the spice was spicing and I mean it when I say this is some of the best spice I have read in a hot minute! You have all kinds of toys and toys in the backdoor for the double p if you know what I mean 👀 so yeah im going to say a good 4/5 🌶️!

Go get this book when it comes out! If you want a cozy read with plenty of spice then this is your jam!

Thank you NetGalley and Luna Day for the awesome opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest review!

“It’s Sweet, spicy, & chaotic in the best possible way”

ARC Review!

Bake It With Love was truly an unexpected book for me in the best possible way. I didn’t know I needed a fake dating storyline with a baking competition that’s packed with spice and romance, but I did lol.

It’s one of the cutest books with a lot of spice. You get the FMC who’s looking for change but doesn’t know how to take it in just yet. Then you get the MMC who, well… just does what he does and makes the storyline what it is. Both characters are very enjoyable and entertaining to read about. I loved this book from start to finish. There was a lot of “laugh out loud moments” for me.

It’s practically a baking competition with chaos/drama mixed with entertainment, romance, and spice. It’s different and so worth it to read. Luna does an incredible job with the story, giving us exactly what we want in regards to keeping us entertained, informing us of what’s going on, and showing and telling as well.

I enjoyed it. If anyone likes the books I read, you’ll love this too! Give it a try and add it to your TBR.

A special thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for this ARC.

As always, this is my honest feedback and words

This was just as cute and wholesome as I thought it was going to be! 💝

A fake dating friends to lovers, during a bake-off challenge, with some family trauma / bonding. Noah has been (secretly) in love with Becca for over 2 years, and cheekily signs them up to a couples baking contest. Becca accepts his friend’s little spontaneous idea, and agrees to fake date so they can actually qualify for the show.

They work so very well together, both in the competition, and as a pair. I love how sweet they both are, and how they’ve got their own individual strengths which make great results in everything they do and make.

Both of them have some family drama, and the way they support each other feels like a comforting hug. It’s so clear they realise they make a great couple, and thrive in each others’ support and love.

“He had found a healthy love—an all-consuming, reciprocating, accepting love—and that is what he wanted to nurture.”

Thank you so much to NetGalley, the publisher and Luna Day for an arc, I always love any novella/novel she writes!

4.5 ✨ Thank you to NetGalley, Love Lit Press and Luna Day for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Holy moly, this was soooo syrupy sweet and utterly delicious!!!

Becca and Noah have been friends for two years, and Noah has been pining for her since day one. He enters them into a reality baking show where they will have to team up to win the grand prize. What’s the catch? Well, the teams are made up of couples. Cue fake dating hijinks!

Oh my lorddddd, this was so fun. Fake dating x friends-to-lovers x Great British Bake Off vibes?! Put it in my veins!!

Becca is a gorgeous little ray of sunshine who is burnt the fuck out on cleaning up her younger sister’s messes, and I loved getting to see her put herself first for once and let someone take care of her for a change. UGH!

Noah is a grumpy, yearning delight of a man (I’m a basic gal who loves a grump, sue me). His family dynamic is complicated, and it was so lovely seeing Becca bring him out of his own head.

The spice in this book was sooo much steamier than I was expecting - this is NOT a complaint, I ate up every last morsel. It was hot, the build up was perfect and wow does it pay off!

Please, please, please do yourself a favour and RUN to read this when it publishes. Especially if you, like me, are a sucker for fake dating/grumpy x sunshine/friends-to-lovers/a man with a filthy mouth ❤️‍🔥

Bake it with love is a cute love story with just the right amount of spice! This was my first book from @lunaday and it won’t be my last. I loved her writing and I also really enjoyed reading a story that was happening in Canada with the mention of one of the character being from Quebec. 🇨🇦❤️

When a book includes fake dating. We know it’s gonna be complete chaos disguised as “just for the show” until the line between the act and reality completely gets blurred.

🫖 Becca is sweet and good-natured. She’s yearning to start over in her dream city and expend her tea shop after she bailed out her toxic sister for the last time. The only problem? Her bank account is empty.

👨🏻‍🍳 Noah is a grumpy professional baker. But he has never lived up to his family’s old-fashioned standards. Going to Canada’s most popular reality show might be the opportunity he needs.

💞 There’s just one problem : the show is for couples only. His giant crush on Becca makes it the obvious choice. As the challenges heat up, so does their relationship, leaving them wondering if they’re really faking it or if their chemistry has real-life potential.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. This was such a fun and easy read. I really enjoyed the fake dating + baking competition storyline, and Becca and Noah were so easy to root for. I loved the mix of sweet moments, chemistry, and that cosy rom-com feel throughout.

Becca wants a fresh start and dreams of opening her own teashop, while Noah is trying to prove himself as a baker. When they fake date to join a couples baking show, feelings start to blur with the plan (of course they would🙈).

A sweet, entertaining read that kept me smiling. Thank you to Luna Day and Love Lit Press for the arc.

I could see so much of myself in Becca. She’s a people pleaser meaning she will put everyone else’s comfort above her own, pushing her steadily towards burnout as she gives and gives and gives. The way she is so generous with her time and herself is what attracted me to her. But it’s her wit, her sass and her passion is what held my attention. I loved that despite this lack of belief in herself, she made sure to stand up and get the job done. It’s so clear to see she holds infinite amounts of passion and love for what she does and getting to see that unfold more and more was an absolute delight. The way she interacted with the other couples during filming as well was brilliant. It allowed her to become more personable and made me like her even more.
Noah is a dream guy. He cooks delicious food, is caring and attentive, and spicy as hell? WHERE CAN I FIND A NOAH FOR ME?! He really is a great guy. He comes Becca’s anchor throughout the book and I adored that despite his feelings, he left everything go at her pace only. Even checking for her consent multiple times? King behaviour right there. He is such a fantastic character, refusing to allow his unsupportive family and past to ruin what good he can have in the future. Seriously, if I find a Noah to have at my side during my life time, I would be incredibly lucky!

This is such a sweet story - pun intended! I adored the set up and the twist on the typical baking show story. Fake dating stories are a massive love of mine so I was incredibly excited to jump into this book - and it was amazing! Fast paced, filled with innuendo, unexpected villainy and friendships that make your heart full. The fact it followed a similar format to a beloved baking show (GBBO is a staple in my household!) yet still felt fresh and original is a testament to just how great the writing is. The characters involved were great too. All surrounding characters were involved in one way or another which opened up this brilliant little world Day has created. No one felt like they were there for the sake of it which is always great to see. I do dislike seeing filler characters and was very happy that none were in sight here. The romance was utterly swoon worthy and had me grinning like a goon far too often! The relationship that Noah and Becca already have is such a solid foundation that offered them a platform to truly explore their feelings. The way they support and encourage each other had my heart turning to goo in my chest. But their chemistry is genuinely off the charts. Mix in their spicy scenes which really were HOT, giving us the perfect heat to all the sweet, they are an amazing couple - real, honest and made for each other! The ending was absolute perfection, bringing the story to a fantastic conclusion and everything just felt oh so right.

Overall, Bake it with Love is the perfect book for any baking show lovers - especially if you enjoy a fake dating romance!

Thank you to Netgalley for sending me an E-ARC of this book

This was exactly the kind of book I needed to read.

Fake dating, friends to lovers set to the backdrop of a baking show, sign me right up.

Becca’s biggest ambition in life is to expand her tea shop business. However with a sister who loves to drain her savings, it doesn’t look like it’ll be happening anytime soon. Enter Noah, a friend and long time crush of Becca’s who might just be able to help. Bake It With Love is a national baking phenomenon and Noah has just signed them up for it, giving them a chance to win $250,000. The only problem is the show is for couples and they aren’t a couple.

This was a really nice palate cleanser of a book. It had the coziness and whimsy that comes from a baking show but also all the emotions of a love story unfolding.

Noah and Becca were enjoyable as main characters. They didn’t have a silly third act break up, they just allowed their relationship to progress naturally, no insta love, no proposal or children at the end. Just a couple who fell in love and were now living out their dreams.

The only thing I think this book could’ve done less with is the spice. It seemed to come out of nowhere and didn’t seem to fit either character. Maybe if it had been slowly introduced from the beginning then it maybe wouldn’t have felt so in your face when it suddenly appeared on page.

I was fortunate enough to read this as a ARC through Net Galley and devoured this delicious fake dating romance with dual POV which I think added into the dynamic of the story knowing how Becca and Noah truly felt about one and other and both were so nervous in making the first move made it even cuter.
The chapters were short and sweet keeping a nice flow to the story which helped me being engaged.

Half way through the competition and not only did the pressure in Bake it with Love turn up a notch but also the chemistry between Becca and Noah after they finally communicated and boy that was a recipe for a very sweet and spicy treat!

If Noah was my fake boyfriend and he baked like that I would eat anything he’d put in front of me.

The gasp I gusped when I finished to find the sweetest treat waiting. I’ll save for later and try my absolute hardest to recreate.
Can I just also add that everything that was “made” during the competition I want to order one of everything thank you!

Fan of the Great British Bake Off show? Then this might be for you!

I love the show so I could see all the ways that the book took inspiration from it but with the fun added twist of making it a couples baking contest.

Noah and Becca were well developed characters, with just enough family drama backstory to have you rooting for them. The pacing was done really well and worked in the baking contest parameters so the romance didn’t come off as insta-love. The spice was for sure spicin’ in this one when Noah after dark entered the chat *sheesh*

All in all I really enjoyed this. It was cute and spicy and the baking contest portion was fun to read. My only issue was with some minor inconsistencies that stood out.

Luna Day has done it again!

I've been ARC reading books by Luna Day since her debut, Three Hearts Hideaway (an amazing why choose—which you should absolutely check out!). I love her writing style and ideas, and I can always count on her to deliver something heartwarming and spicy, and this was no exception!

I pretty much went into this blind, only knowing it was a fake dating/baking romance and that she had been teasing it since her Kiss and Make Love collection, though I haven't really been on Instagram to see all the posts promoting this one. I had hoped it was Georgia & Marco's story from the collection, but this was way different from what I expected. I've only read 1 other "reality TV" type romance book (Frost by C.N. Crawford; The Bachelor, but fae edition), I wasn't really sold on this trope, so I was a bit scared going into this. But Luna Day made this SOOO fun! I loved the bit of drama, the friendships the characters made, the cozy baking setting, and the baking challenges; it completely won me over.

────── ✧ ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ♡ ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ✧ ──────

I devoured Bake It with Love in just a couple of days, and honestly? I’m still thinking about it.

Becca and Noah have been best friends for just about two years, but Becca doesn’t know that Noah has been hopelessly in love with her for almost all of it. When Noah gets the chance to compete on Canada’s biggest couples-only baking show to prove himself to his family, who don't believe in him, he asks the one person he trusts most to fake date him: Becca. Five months after submitting the application, he fiiinally telld her about it... just a week before the competition, he was terrified she might say no. But of course she says yes! She's been desperate for a fresh start, away from her toxic sister, and the prize money would help her finally move to her dream city to expand her teashop.

What could possibly go wrong?

Noah and Becca were amazing, well-developed characters, and their chemistry was off the charts!! I didn't expect kinky spice, but omg, the spice was spicing!! Honestly, the slow burn and buildup made every moment worth it; it was the perfect balance with everything that was happening!

Noah’s pining? EXQUISITE. This man👏🏻👏🏻 Watching him try to keep it together while pretending their relationship wasn’t real had me internally screaming!! And what I loved most was how sweet and gentle he was with her. A cinna-grump with a soft center will get me every single time🥹

And Becca, I just adored her. Her character development was soo good; I loved seeing her grow. She finally chose herself and slowly realized she deserves more after all she's given.

The baking competition was fun! Honestly, I thought Becca and Noah worked so well together during all the high-stakes moments. There was so much tension, but also so many cozy, fun moments. It genuinely felt like watching a reality Baking/Cooking show unfold, except with the added bonus of knowing Noah was dying inside every time he had to pretend Becca wasn’t everything to him.

I also really enjoyed the bits of drama woven throughout the competition. Though...Sherry’s situation was kinda predictable; it added a lot of tension and made things entertaining. I will say the climax of the situation felt a little lacklustre, but I guess it didn’t take away from how much I loved the journey getting there.

Overall, Bake It with Love was a very sweeet, cozy, funny, and steamy read! I can't wait to read Luna's next book!

p.s. I can't wait to try the recipes at the back of the book🤭

🎯 My Thoughts:

This was such a cute book! But don’t get me wrong. It was also very spicy. I really liked the complex family dynamics with both Noah and his family and Becca and her sister. I almost wish that it would have given more emotion on either of those points, but it’s still added some really great depth to an overall sweet story.

As a fan of the great British bake off, this was a delightful, almost parody, but adding in a fun romance between the characters. I also really enjoyed the descriptive prose when it came to the food. It was almost like I was seeing it and smelling it myself. I even learned some new Canadian treats! And how fun is it that we get some of the recipes in the back of the book?

And the spice?! Don’t let the cutesy cover fool you! This got very spicy. Like back to back scenes (not a complaint).

Would I Recommend?: Yes! Overall, I enjoyed this book. I personally wish it hit more with emotional depth, but if you’re looking for something on the lighter side with spice and some plot intrigue, this is a great choice!

bake it with love was my first luna day book and i was so excited when i read it, because now i have a new author to add to my list! the cover was cute, the vibes were high and the book was a fantastic read !!

noah talks becca into entering a couples only baking contest which leads to them fake dating in a great british bake off inspired situation. you’re KIDDING. I LOVED IT. no notes. i had to watch great british bakeoff highlight reels after i read this book i wanted to be immersed in the world all over again.

noah was a cutie patootie, i love that man. he was so good ! a grump with a soft heart who genuinely loved becca so deeply and just wanted a chance to show her. i loved their dynamic. he was encouraging and loving and always so supportive, especially when she was struggling during the show. also, that man’s game ?? had me blushing and giggling & kicking my feet icl. 10/10 mmc

becca, sweet sunshiney girl. i adore her, please i need to be her friend !! i was so proud when she decided to take the leap and agree to fake date noah, it was sweet to see her realise how much she liked him! i also loved that she finally put herself first !! i wanted to just give her a big hug so many times, and she more than deserved the happy ever after she got with noah.

also the SPICE? hello, wow okay yes. 100%. just gonna leave a few emojis here: 🎥📸 and thats actually all i will be saying on the matter xx

first of all, not a fan of ashley and nick always with the sabotage like get a life. anyways glad they got their just desserts (lol) in the end.

special mention to charlie - man i love that kid, i need a spin off about him please

i really appreciated that with all the humor and spice the serious stuff was handled with care too - noah’s relationship with his family, becca’s relationship with her sister. the way they helped each other through things 🥹

it was spicy, it was so fun and i will absolutely be reading it again on pub day.

This is my British Bake Off
Bake it With Love by Luna Day ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

Friends to lovers, fake dating, a reality baking show and spice that genuinely caught me off guard? Yes please. Put it all in my veins immediately. 🍰✨

Becca and Noah have been friends for two years and Noah has been completely gone for her since basically day one. His solution? Sneakily sign them both up for a couples reality baking competition and hope for the best. Becca agrees to fake date so they can actually qualify and from there the fake dating hijinks absolutely deliver. 😍

Noah is just the sweetest grumpy yearning man and I loved every second of him. He's been holding back his feelings for fear of ruining their friendship and watching him finally let himself have this was so satisfying. Becca on the other hand is a sunshine ray who has spent way too long putting everyone else first and getting to see her let someone take care of her for once felt so good. They balance each other out perfectly. 💕

The baking show setting is so fun and cosy. There’s competition drama, some very satisfying villain moments and enough wholesome chaos to keep things entertaining throughout. The mystery behind the competition mishaps isn't hard to figure out but when justice is served? Chef's kiss. 👏

Both characters carry some family baggage and the way they show up for each other through that was genuinely heartwarming. Their relationship just feels natural and real and easy to root for from start to finish.

And the spice. Oh the spice. I was not expecting it to be that good and I am not complaining even a little bit. The build up is perfect and the payoff is very much worth it. 🌶️🔥

Cosy, sweet, funny and steamier than expected, this is exactly the kind of book you need when you want to smile the whole way through. 📚💝

Thank you so much to the Author and netgalley for my copy.

I read this book in one sitting and it was amazing. I grew up watching Cupcake Wars, so this book instantly gave me those vibes✨💗

From the start, we know Noah has been in love with Becca for the past two years, and honestly, I was surprised it took him so long to tell her how he felt. Noah is a baker who wants to compete in a live baking TV show called Bake It With Love, but the catch is that contestants have to enter as couples. That’s where Becca comes in, she owns a tea shop and is an amateur baker who was also interested in the show, but she never seriously considered applying because 1. she has a problematic sister, and 2. she didn’t have a partner to join with… until Noah shows up asking her to fake date him for six weeks so they can compete together👀🤭

I really loved the writing style, the recipes, and the whole reality TV aspect of the story. It was funny, entertaining and interesting watching all the couples complete the different challenges throughout the competition. I really loved about Noah how clear he was about his feelings for Becca, he never tried to hide them, even if Becca didn’t fully realize it at first. Ofc, the competition gets intense because there are some amazing contestants, but Noah and Becca gave it their all, grew more confident and slowly discovered deeper feelings for each other🥹

I was VERY surprised by:
1. How bossy Noah was both in and out of the bedroom😮‍💨
2. How Becca acted during the spicy scenes because girl had me shocked🫣Her personality is so sweet and lovable, but with Noah they absolutely burned for each other🥵🔥

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were great, and I loved seeing Becca finally set boundaries with her sister while Noah stopped caring so much about his family’s opinions. In the end, they both found their freedom and happiness🤩🫶🏻

Thank you so much NetGalley and Love Lit Press for this amazing ARC!!!

I don't have words to describe how much i loved this book 🩷

Becca and Noah are friends who own a teashop and a bakery, respectively. And when Noah is given the opportunity to participate in the biggest baking reality show in Canada, he doesn't lose time to accept. The only but is that it's a couples contest. So Becca accepts to be his fake girlfriend and participate with him. What she doesn't know is that this is his excuse to spend six weeks with the girl he loves.

I didn't realize how much I like reality shows until I read this book. It was so fun to see how Becca and Noah managed to get through each challenge, how great they are together. It was so nice watching them befriend the other contestants and joking around. I wasn't expecting the drama of having a couple there cheating and causing havoc for the other contestants, but it was so nice and entertaining. It definitely felt like a reality show and I loved that. I loved the other characters: Joel and Camille, Jeremiah and Jake, Charlie. They were great!

I also loved seeing how Becca grew to be more confident in her baking abilities and how Noah was able to loosen up a bit and smile more. I loved how they grew together and the relationship they built was pretty inspiring. Let's say this romance was the perfect balance of cute and freaky 🤭 I have to say, don't let the cute cover fool you: the spice here is spicing. It was the perfect dose and didn't feel forced to the story or too much.

The writing is so good and delightful that i need to read all the author's work asap.

First off how stinking cute is this cover?!

Becca is a tea shop owner dreaming of opening a tea shop in the big city. Noah is an introverted baker who sells his baked goods to other shops. He's longing to ask Becca out but is afraid of being rejected. When he's selected to be on a reality baking show, he asks Becca to be the other half of a couple for the chance to win $250K. Becca jumps at the chance to help a friend and win some money. Could Noah and Becca take the winnings and also win at love?

I loved Noah and his grumpy self. He was hampered by the disapproval of his family, and it kept him from really living his life to the fullest. He was a secret dirty talker and liked to be in command in the bedroom. He really took a chance by asking Becca to be his fake girlfriend.

Becca was a bit of everything. She was sweet and kind. Sometimes it really hurt her, like when her spoiled sister kept coming around for money. Olivia was very selfish and manipulative. I was so glad when she put her in her place. Becca was also a dirty birdy. She was more of an exhibitionist. At times it was hard to mesh all the sides of her personality in my brain, but that could just be a me problem.

They were so cute when they got together for real. I'm glad that they didn't let any obstacles keep them apart in the end. They worked so well as a team on the reality show and Becca didn't let the villains keep her from being kind. They both overcame their family's drama so they could live their best lives and be together.

This book is good if you love The Great British Bake Off, friends to lovers, unrequited love, kinks and good smutty times.

I devoured this absolutely delicious book in one sitting, and for very good reason. I have always been a sucker for a fake dating trope, but this one takes the cake, pun intended. Becca and Noah’s chemistry is apparent from the beginning, and getting to see both sides of this budding romance was a total plus.

I love the couples baking show plot, such a good way to keep them in close proximity, and have all the cute fluffy moments leading up to the more spicy side of this adult romance. I love that Noah had been pining for so long, his desire for Becca being hidden behind such an innocent ask- to help him win this baking show, and split the prize money. I especially love that he wanted to follow her lead, never doing anything she might be uncomfortable with. A true grumpy gentleman.

Becca’s sunshiney kindness really balanced out the fake couple during their competition time, being the one to do most of the socializing. Her love of pink, passion for tea, and her kind and caring heart shine throughout the whole book. No wonder Noah is so helplessly head over heels for her!

The pacing felt perfect to me, not too last minute slow-burn and not too love-from-the-start. We get our spicy scenes exactly where they need to be, and boy did Luna Day treat us with those scenes. I found myself giggling and giving my roomies a play by play, and each scene I relayed earned their fair share of “oooooh”s.

Everything in this story resolved perfectly, the background characters had their own depth, and the representation was also just right. My first five star read this year. Gods know I can’t wait to have this book physically in my hands this May!

Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Bake It With Love is SUCH a sweet treat, I loved this! It follows Becca, owner of Sweetea (a combo bakery and tea shop that I would love to visit) and her close friend Noah, also a baker. Noah brings her the chance of a lifetime - a shot at a quarter of a million dollars as they compete in her favorite baking show, and all she has to do is pretend to be his girlfriend.

The blend of competition and romance was so fun, Becca and Noah are forced to pretend to be together for the sake of the show, and there's so much good tension with the way they are thrown together in and out of the baking rounds. Noah's crush is so apparent and the moments where Becca is coming into her own feelings had me swooning!

The competition is so fun as well - the hosts were a great cast of characters and there are some neat twists and turns along the way. Along the way there were a couple small parts that gave me pause, but overall there were a million more sweet and fun baking moments that had me wishing Bake It was a real show!

If you're a fan of gbbo like I am, or love a competition where two bakers fall head-over-heels, then you're going to eat this up!! 💖

(I also loved the recipes at the end, such a cool touch!! AND Jiji omg, such a cute reference 🐈‍⬛)

Tropes:
🧁 baking competition
☕ grumpy x sunshine
💖 friends to lovers
🧁 fake dating
☕ only one bed
💖 spicy films
🧁 gbbo-inspired
☕ he falls first

Great British Baking Show with a lot of spice, drama, and dysfunctional family relationships??? COUNT ME IN!
Noah and Becca I love you both. Their relationship developing over the course of the book was amazing. This was definitely a slow burn, but when we got there, WE GOT THEREEE. The spice in this was ✨immaculate✨, no critiques.
Becca’s parents died when she was young and she was stuck raising her sister. Her sister is still constantly begging her for money, and draining all of her savings. Becca wants to expand her tea shop, but with her sister she can’t. Let me just say…I hated Olivia’s (her sister) character. Which is exactly the point. Luna Day does such an amazing job at writing such an unlikable character.
Noah is a baker but doesn’t have the support of his family. He’s been basically in love with Becca for years but is too scared to tell her, so what does he do? Signs them up for a reality baking show where they have to be a couple. His thoughts are, if we spend long enough faking being a couple maybe it will happen.
I loved the reality tv aspect of this, especially as someone who has religiously watched every season of The Great British Baking Show AT LEAST 5 times each. The book goes by the week, for example, a bread week just like in the show and I was eating it uppp. Definitely don’t read this when you’re hungry though because I was constantly craving everything they were making. I also loved the whole drama aspect, which I don’t want to spoil so you’ll have to read to find out!
Overall, as someone who loves to bake, this one was perfect for me. I highlyyy recommend to everyone!

Favourite bits;
MMC & FMC perspectives - i love a good change of chapter perspective between characters!
Becca's overall character - such a sweet and innocent soul!
Noah - What can you even say about Noah, the Hopeless Romantic that some girls yearn for!
Fake Dating Trope - PLEASE
Forced Proximity - YES
Room with one bed - We are here for it!

Can we just appreciate how good fake dating tropes are especially when he's been in love with her since they met?

I loved the entire set up of the story along side Great British Bake Off(GBBO) inspiration! and sectioning the story into the different challenge weeks like the show, i devoured this entirely as an avid fan of any baking show, especially GBBO!

I absolutely their character development and i loved how they worked together and truly fell deeper for each other, especially when Becca had no idea, i mean come on, even i'd fall for Noah without having seen him from this book! so innocent!

Every moment Becca had those little lightbulb moments about Noah, truly melted my heart!

The other character builds in this book were perfect too! no one was left out.

The spice...I have no words. Sheer perfection! without any spoilers, i was giddy and squealed at every moment!

I've not read any other books by Luna Day but i really enjoyed her writing style and everything about this book!

4⭐
This slow burn romance is a breath of fresh air after my reads in February who were mostly about heavy topics. It's my first baking romance if we could say that and as someone who loves watching baking shows, this book did not disappoint with the baking competition, the setting and the writing that portrays a beautiful love story. I loved reading it, and it felt like such a light read, in a good way, obviously. I loved getting to know Noah and Becca, and seeing their love story develop from start to finish.

The story follows Becca and Noah, two best friends who are completely the opposite of each other. Becca is a lively and happy soul in life contrary to Noah, who prefers staying in his bakery working on his pastries and bread better than talking to others, except for Becca obviously :) When the chance is represented to Noah to prove himself to his family and for Becca to get away from their small town and visit Calgary, the pair decides to participate in the most famous baking show of Canada. Both of them have different reasons for wanting to win the contest, but for that, they need to act as a couple since the show is for couples only. This trip will put them in many different situations that they will have to navigate together, and who says, maybe they will gain something out of it at the end that they didn't expect.

If you're an adept of romance, slow burn, a fan of baking and one bed situation, you will definitely love this book.

A massive thank you to Victoryeditingngc and to Luna Day for an eARC of Bake It With Love!!!!

Baking? Fake Dating? Slow burn? AND inspired by GBBO?? The moment I saw Bake It With Love on NetGalley, I knew I had to submit a request for an ARC. First, these are amazing tropes, and the cover is so pretty! Second, and here we dive into some personal lore, I am a massive fan of GBBO! My friends and I have a GBBO draft for each new season and a decorative cake plate for whoever chooses the winning baker. Bake It With Love and I were simply meant to be 🥰.

I absolutely ADORED this book and our MCs. Noah has been yearning for more than just friendship with Becca for years. He doesn’t want to scare her away though. Meanwhile, Becca is working as hard as she possibly can to achieve her dreams, which keep getting interrupted by her sister who is quite toxic. Noah applies for a couple’s baking competition and upon acceptance, has to break the news to Becca that he signed them up. Queue the Fake Relationship trope! Except Noah isn’t faking it!

Becca and Noah have an electric chemistry together so it’s not long before the lines of fake dating begin to blur. Their developing feelings and desire for each other aren’t the only thing they have to be careful with though. There’s a sly saboteur amongst the bakers. Noah and Becca have to make sure their bakes get them through the next round while also trying to thwart the saboteur along the way.

This book was STEAMY, cute, romantic, funny, and I can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy! If cute & spicy is your thing, you simply must read Bake It With Love!

I absolutely adored Bake It with Love by Luna Day!

I’m not usually the biggest fan of friends-to-lovers, but this book completely won me over. The concept alone was genius — a Canadian version of The Great British Bake Off but for couples? And they have to fake date to compete? I was hooked immediately. The week-to-week competition format made it so easy to binge, and it genuinely felt like watching a reality baking show unfold. The little illustrated touches throughout just added to that cozy, charming vibe.

Becca and Noah both had so much more depth than I expected. Becca’s journey of finally choosing herself after always cleaning up her toxic sister’s mess felt empowering and real. And Noah? The grumpy baker trying to prove himself to his traditional family while secretly being completely gone for Becca? I loved him. Their dynamic was sweet, funny, and full of tension in the best way.

And the spice?! I was not expecting it to be that steamy. The chemistry between them absolutely sizzled — it balanced perfectly with the emotional development and didn’t feel thrown in just for shock value. It made the transition from fake dating to something very real feel believable and intense.

This was cozy, romantic, funny, and unexpectedly hot. If you love reality show settings, grumpy/sunshine energy, and friends-to-lovers done right, this one is such a treat. 🍰💕

I adored Luna Day's "Bake it with Love." What a cute, fun, sizzling, cozy story! I loved the main characters, Noah and Becca, and the reason they get thrown together to compete on a Canadian baking show together as a "couple" despite them not being a real couple! Fake dating at its finest, folks! I was invested in their story from the very first chapter. I loved their grumpy x sunshine dynamic, the banter between them, the sizzling chemistry, how they encourage each other, how they strive to understand one another, and how they help push each other while they are on the reality show. The longer they stay on the show, the steamier things get off-set as Noah and Becca give into temptation and explore more than just the kitchen. All of the baking stuff was so relaxing to read. I feel like I learned a lot of tips and unexpected flavor combos reading this! I also loved the unexpected drama that happens throughout the course of their stay on the show. I found myself invested in every facet of this story! Despite its cutsey cover and premise, do not be fooled: Luna Day writes some of the best, most descriptive spice out there. I have had the privilege of reading several of her books, and I come away blushing every single time I read one (and it takes A LOT to make me blush). Her writing is just THAT GOOD. The pacing is super quick because I could not put this book down. Absolutely recommend this one!

Thank you to NetGalley, Luna Day, and Love Lit Press for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

TW: toxic family members and alcohol abuse

If you love baking competition shows but wish there were more spice, you might love this book. I have never watched any baking show, so I don't have any opinions on that. I found these competitions fun to read. Becca and Noah's friends-to-lovers relationship was well-written. They had a strong friendship that slowly turned into something more. I also loved how they explored their sexual preferences together. There was great representation that I haven't seen in other books. Also, Becca is into both men and women, but I can't remember if she identifies as anything specific. It was nice to see the representation. It was also nice that they made friends with other couples.

Let me start by saying that Becca is a people pleaser. Her sister is an alcoholic. That is going to cause problems, especially when Becca's sister tries to guilt her into loaning her money to bail her out of situations. That is my one complaint about this book. Realistically, I could see this happening. But Becca has been helping her sister for years, pushing away her own dreams to help fuel her sister's problems. I found that frustrating. I wanted her to be able to stand up to her sister on her own. But having Noah in the picture made her finally take the plunge.

Thank you to NetGalley, Luna Day, and Love Lit Press for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Bake it with love by Luna day is a beautifully written Romantic novel. In this story, there is drama, sweet moments , sizzling chemistry and lots and lots of baking.

It revolves around Becca and Noah who act as a couple in a reality baking show. The relationship growth between them from Friends to Lovers and their banter was just amazing and I enjoyed each and every moment between them. They were a perfect team while handling all the challenges that came in the show.

The setting of reality TV show was captured beautifully and the surprise challenges were just amazing to read. It kept me hooked and I was really excited to read how Becca and Noah will succeed in each and every challenge.

Family dynamics were shown in a realistic way and how Becca and Noah tackled them with each other's support was shown beautifully. Other contestants and judges of the show made this story more interesting.

I Loved all the baking stuff and yes I would recommend to read this book while munching on cookies like it can just make one hungry. And yes this did inspire me to do some baking also. Would try the recipes mentioned in the book!!

Bex and Baker were just adorable and I would highly recommend this book to anyone who love watching reality TV shows and want to read some lighthearted ROM com feel good book. I thoroughly enjoyed every element of this book!!

Thank you Love Lit Press and netgalley for this ARC!!

Bake It with Love is one of those cozy romances that feels warm from start to finish. The story centers around baking, small everyday moments, and the kind of romance that grows quietly rather than all at once. It’s not overly dramatic, which I actually liked because it made everything feel more genuine.

What stood out to me the most was the atmosphere. The bakery setting adds a comforting vibe to the whole story—like you can almost smell the pastries while reading. It creates a soft, relaxing mood that makes this book really easy to get into, especially if you’re just looking for something light and feel-good.

The relationship development is also quite sweet. Instead of intense conflict, the connection between the characters builds through small interactions and shared moments. It feels natural and a bit more realistic compared to faster-paced romances. I appreciated that it didn’t rush things too much.

However, if you prefer stories with a lot of twists or high drama, this book might feel a bit slow. The plot is simple, and not much happens in terms of big surprises. But for me, that simplicity is part of its charm—it focuses more on emotions and comfort rather than excitement.

Overall, Bake It with Love is a gentle, heartwarming read. It’s perfect for when you want something calming, romantic, and a little bit comforting—like a good dessert after a long day.

Thank You Netgalley for giving me chance to read this book in advance !.
