Silent Vows: An Age Gap Mafia Romance

Rate this book
He saw me once. And he never looked away.

I was having the worst day of my life when I first met Dante Mancini.

I didn’t know who he was, but everyone around me did. They spoke about him in whispers.

Instead of paying attention to the rumors, I got swept away by the heat in his eyes.

I was timid. A wallflower.

He was handsome. Much older.

He took me to his beautiful Italian mansion and gave me a proposition.

Be my wife’, he said. ‘For six months.’

It was a temporary arrangement, but the lines between right and wrong blurred with every day that passed.

He called me his little darling.

And in the middle of the night, when he pressed his body against mine, I called him ‘Daddy’.

He became my protector.

Someone in this world I could finally trust.

But the more I learn about his past, the less I understand his motivations.

And just as all of his secrets start to unravel, he tells me that the deal is off.

I belong to him now—whether I like it or not.

Welcome to ‘Kingdoms’. Each book is a fairy-tale based contemporary standalone set in the criminal underworld. Book 8 is a loose modern adaptation of ‘The Ugly Duckling’. If you like your romance steamy and bordering on the dark side with twists that will have your heart racing, this book is for you. HEA always.

Oh, this one? It doesn’t whisper danger, it purrs it.

Silent Vows delivers exactly what dark romance readers crave: power, obsession, vulnerability, and a love story that walks the razor’s edge between devotion and control. From the very first encounter, Aria R. Blue sets the tone with a magnetic pull that feels less like fate and more like inevitability.

Dante Mancini is not your average brooding hero, he’s colder, sharper, and infinitely more possessive. The kind of man people fear before they even know his name. And yet, the moment he sees her, everything narrows. That fixation? Deliciously intense. If you love the “he chooses her and never lets go” trope, Dante will absolutely ruin you in the best way.

Grace begins as a soft, almost fragile presence, a true wallflower caught in a storm she never saw coming. But what makes this story shine is how she evolves. Her journey from timid observer to emotionally entangled partner feels natural, even when the circumstances are anything but. The age gap dynamic adds a layer of tension that’s both provocative and emotionally charged, especially as their arrangement begins to blur into something far more dangerous than a simple contract.

What really elevates this story, though, is the undercurrent of secrecy. Dante isn’t just a powerful man, he’s a puzzle. And as Grace begins to peel back those layers, the story shifts from seductive romance into something darker, more uncertain. His motivations aren’t always clear, and that ambiguity keeps the tension tight all the way through.

The emotional payoff? Messy. Intense. Slightly unhinged. Exactly what you’d expect from a mafia romance that refuses to play nice.

If you’re drawn to dominant heroes, age-gap tension, morally gray choices, and heroines who get swept into a world they can’t escape, Silent Vows will absolutely hook you. It’s not sweet. It’s not safe. But it is irresistibly addictive.

The book begins with an intense hook that sets up a darker tone and immediately drew me in, making me curious about where the story was headed. As the plot unfolds, that early weight does not fully carry through, and some elements that seem important at the start either fade into the background or feel more like setup for future books rather than payoff within this one.

Dante generally works well as the male lead, though a few character details occasionally undermined the dangerous presence the story seemed to be aiming for. Grace is easy to root for at the start, given her past, but as the story progresses I found myself less emotionally invested in her personal journey.

The romance itself is enjoyable, but some of the surrounding story choices felt disjointed. A few plot developments rely on convenient solutions or sudden reveals that pulled me out of the moment. The Daddy dynamic appears only during intimate scenes, so readers looking for that strong mafia Daddy dynamic will find it lighter than expected.

That said, there were parts of the book I genuinely enjoyed. Some of the secondary characters bring humor and personality, helping to balance the heavier themes and keeping the story entertaining even when the plot wandered.

Overall, Silent Vows was an okay read for me. The chemistry between the main characters is strong, but the surrounding plot and tone did not always come together as smoothly as I hoped. But it did a good job of making me curious to see where the story involving the Don goes in future books.

A Fast paced insta love that was entertaining and held my attention. Based on The Ugly Duckling, fairy tale but with criminal underworld danger Grace always being told by her abusive mother that she was ugly and worthless meets Dante, at an auction her mother sends her to be sold. She doesn't know if she can trust him due to the way they meet but it soon becomes obvious he is obsessed by her.

Dante becomes 'her'daddy', as being much older than her he gives her love, attention and choices. A six month marraige pact is made but Grace slowly has her world turned around once she gets to know Dante. Learning how his life made him the man he is, a ruthless, dangerous man, but never with her. The story has intrigue, secrets and plenty of mafia men in it that comes to a head!
Lots of steam, suspense and a good plot. I enjoyed reading this and the writing held my attention. A little too rushed at times for me but all in all a great read. Perfect for mafia fans with a possessive hero.

When mafia men love and are loved deeply, it's oh so exciting to behold. 🥰
Grace and Dante are kindred spirits who seem to share the same frustration, anger, and sense of helplessness at feeling trapped in their circumstance. Traumatic experiences in childhood have left lasting scars on both characters as well. Their story weaves together moments filled with tenderness and understanding along with harshness and violence. There’s lots of spice, plenty of banter and some laugh out loud moments.
There are books written before this that appear to tell the stories of a lot of the supporting characters in this book which left me with a sense of FOMO (fear of missing out). I have previously read the first four books in the series and now I am thinking I need to read the others to catch up.

Side note, this story does touch on child trafficking so be aware if this is a trigger for you.

The story for the last sister Grace. She is back with her mother, and she is not happy how things were left between them. Dante is in the right place at the right time to help.

I loved how Grace and Dante are exactly what the other needed. Even though they get their start in an undesirable situation, they still see to the heart of the other. He is the first place Grace feels safe, and she is the one thing that makes him feel calm, when not boiling with need for her.

I love how quickly they become a team even when their time together starts off as temporary. They overcome their hurdles wonderfully.

I NEVER thought I would see Nico as the voice of reason. We get lovely moments with the sisters back together.

Ending was beautiful. Both Grace and Dante able to move on. Hoping for more in this series. Love visiting this world.

Grace was the daughter of a cruel, but beautiful woman who decided to have Grace auctioned off to whoever may want her as she was heavily involved in trafficking… but she never figured on Dante. She convinced Grace that she was awkward, ugly and a drain on the family. Dante was a Mafia family head, while his own boss in federal custody in the US, leaving Dante in charge… but Dante also was vehemently against human trafficking in any way. He saw Grace and immediately bid two-hundred thousand Euros, because she was the first woman who ever elicited an immediate response from him… he was going to marry her, as far as he was concerned, those curves made her perfect!! Grace wasn't sure what to think about the man who spent so much and treated her like a princess… but you will need to read the story to see the real Dante and why he was taking down traffickers… I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.

This installment delivers exactly what the series does best—dark romance layered with emotion, danger, and evolving trust between two damaged people. The dynamic between Grace and Dante stands out because of its contrast: she is fragile but observant, while he is outwardly a monster with a surprisingly gentle edge reserved only for her. Their relationship builds slowly, leaning into tension, protection, and emotional dependency in a way that feels intentional for this world.

The mafia backdrop continues to be well woven in, especially with Dante’s position and the larger family structure. Past characters showing up added a nice sense of continuity, and it’s always a highlight seeing how interconnected the series is—Nico’s presence definitely brings some spark back into the mix. The overarching storyline involving power, loyalty, and revenge keeps the stakes steady, while the romance remains the emotional core.

I am completely shocked and invested in this story. Grace is auctioned and bought by the mysterious, desirable bachelor, Dante. I instantly felt for Grace and how horrible and sheltered her life was. Dante was a mystery, and like Grace, I found myself questioning him and his motives. They have an instant connection that neither understood, and such a fun dynamic that I fell in love with. I also enjoyed the slight humor of the witty banter, and the teasing of him driving a Vespa. The perfect balance of shocking secrets, hair-raising suspense, and sizzling hot moments. One of the best forced marriage mafia romances I've read! I really hope Ida and Enzo are next!

Silent Vows is an age gap romance set in a Mafia world and is loosely based on a fairytale.
MFC Grace Thorne tried to escape her evil mother and for a while experienced freedom for the first time in her life, until she was caught and is now about to be sold at auction.
MMC Dante Mancini is attending the auction but for reasons other than the other man there. When he sees Grace on stage he places a bid no one is going to top because he’s found what he was looking for.
This was an intriguing story with danger, twists, Mafia dynamics, surprises, and passion in a dark dramatic narrative that was nicely written and became an engaging read.

This is the first book I've read by Aria but it won't be the last. I read the blurb and thought I'd give this a try. The story grabs you from the first page and the detail in which this is written, transports you in the book and makes you feel part of it. This is not your usual Mafia story. Grace is to be auctioned off when she's purchased by Dante. This is a dark, Age-gap, instalove story with an OTT hero, This is a wonderful story of strength, betrayal, trust, love and overcoming the unimaginable with a surprise dose of humor. You have to read the book to see what happens next and I can't wait for the next book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was the first book I read by Aria Blue and it will not be the last. I really enjoyed her writing style and could not put this book down. Silent Vows is about Grace Thorne and Dante Mancini. Grace grew up living with an extremely abusive mother. Nothing she did was good enough. No matter how hard she tried she was not pretty enough either. Grace finally escaped from her mother's clutches only to be brought back and put in a human auction. It was there she met Dante, he bid $200,000 on her and Grace was his. This book follows their relationship from their engagement, to their marriage and beyond. Ms. Blue has done a fantastic job with this story.

This is Book 8 in the Kingdoms Series by this author. It is a modern day re-imagining of the Ugly Duckling fairy tale in the age gap mafia romance between Dante and Grace. These flawed characters are likeable, the connection strong, the chemistry hot, and the unique plot makes for an entertaining read. What starts out as a six month marriage arrangement turns into something more. It is a love story with enough drama, intrigue, suspense, steam, some twists and engaging secondary characters. Quite a page turner.

This was such a quick and easy read for me. I was captivated from page one and did not want to put it down. I loved all the filthy spice and the plot was great too. It's really nice when smutty books have a well written story to go with it. This really isn't your typical bad boy mafia romance. It was nice to read about a Mafia leader trying to do good in the world. The characters were well built and each with their own distinct purpose in the story. Honestly, this is one of the best books I've read in a long while.

✅auction
✅instant attraction
✅fast paced
✅forced marriage
✅daddy kink
✅dirty talk!

❌no cheating / no mention of his past
❌no OW drama

It basically had all I normally enjoyed:
- the guy is not a playboy douche and the woman is not a meek little thing…
However, it still fell flat, not sure why 🤷🏼‍♀️
There plenty of actions and spice was not all over the place (they actually wait until 50% before doing the deeds).
I wish the whole auction part lasted longer.
Now, I am all for the little nicknames like piccola, baby girl, little bird… but “little girl” 🥴

I still want to read the Bluebeard retelling

This was another exciting addition to the series and I was really invested in Dante and Grace getting their HEA. She's tried to escape her evil step momma, only to get caught and sold off at auction :( Dante is at the auction but not for the reason all the other men are there for...until he sees Grace on stage ;) He wins her and is shocked at his connection to her... Expect to get caught up in the drama, danger, mafia intrigue, twists and hot romance as they work their way to a fab and steamy HEA :D

So much more than a winning bid. Dante bids on Grace, but it the dynamic between the two of them was more intense than I think either of them expect. Grace being very sheltered before she meets Dante provides a lot of room for growth for her. This is a Mafia romance, but so much better. I loved the interactions between Dante and Grace, it made for a fascinating read. Fantastic characters and a great story.

Dante proposes a 6 month marriage with Grace. I was invested in this story from the beginning. I’m a huge sucker for a mafia book, better yet with an age gap. This ended up being a great book. It did start a little slow, but the author was building their characters and setting the stage. It took a while for Grace to trust Dante, given how they met. I struggled through the trust phase, but it picked up after that. The spicy scenes were 🔥🔥🔥. Not a unique plot, but the twists and turns made it intriguing. Definitely recommend.

"She's mine now, whether she likes it or not."

This is Grace and Dante's underworld/ mafia-based love story that begins with an illegal auction and a forced arrangement. It's an addictive read full of passion plus, dominance, retribution, obsession, humor, violence, manipulation, very dangerous enemies and a worldwide mission to fulfill. I do wonder what happened to the Don that was so involved in Dante's life.

Very good. A lot of trauma and darkness to start and you think the book is going to be ugly all the way through but things change. Grace actually finds her one person who is and will be there for her no matter what and Dante meets the one who will love and be proud of him no matter what. When the Don comes back into the picture things get sticky but he fades back into the background.

This is an excellent Mafia romance.

It is gripping, emotional, and passionate.

Grace & Dante are main characters that hold you for the length of the book.

As promised (by the genre), it's pretty dark at times however it is balanced, resulting in a very good book.

(I was fortunate to receive an ARC however the above is, as ever, my own opinion.)
