Kallis is an omega who is super focused on her career as a surgeon. She has very specific goals, but she's not accomplishing those goals as quickly as she'd like. Her friend, Aspen, suggests she take a job as a physician for the local hockey team. She never expected she'd meet her scent matched alphas, nor does she want a pack. Orso is the pack's grump and doesn't want an omega, but his packmates, Mathan and Artie, have other ideas. The ride to them accepting each other and packing up is definitely a bumpy one thanks to past family trauma. Spicy and sweet. Kallis discovers that she can have a pack and keep her career goals. Loved this Goldilocks and the Three Bears retelling omegaverse!!!

I must admit, this hockey romance isn't your usual run-of-the-mill story with standard rink setups. We have Kallis, an incredibly structured neurosurgeon who behaves like an absolute ice queen to protect her peace while trying to secure a top executive hospital job. Her plan to cozy up to the board involves becoming the team doctor for the Golden Bears hockey squad, which goes perfectly fine until the team captain, a massive serial grump named Orso, accidentally bites her and throws her straight into a scent-match mess with his mates, Mathan and Artie. It is a proper Goldilocks retelling done in the omegaverse world, complete with their home rink literally called The Woods.
Kallis took me a bit of time to get used to because she doesn't instantly turn into a puddle of goo the second she scent-matches with these massive alphas, which honestly made a brilliant change from the usual submissive tropes. Her highly analytical nature and fierce professional boundaries keep her grounded. The lads themselves are fantastic because their names literally mean bear in different languages and they fit the classic fable roles perfectly. You have Orso acting as the grumpy small-town daddy bear, Mathan as the soft, plus-size Scottish mommy bear who brings all the calm, and Artie as this hyper, flirty Californian baby bear who just wants affection. My only minor gripe is that Artie's intense neediness can get slightly repetitive and a bit much at times when you want the plot to drive forward. It is definitely a slower burn than I expected, building up the genuine tension while Kallis fights her inner nature to protect her career, but the heat when the walls finally break down is brilliant.
It completely succeeds as a comforting sports romance that weaves the fairy tale elements together perfectly. If you love fiercely independent leading ladies with strict analytical boundaries and reverse harem dynamics that don't skimp on real character development, you absolutely need to read this.

Kallis is an Omega, surgeon who is working hard to be the best of the best. She doesn't have time for a pack or a relationship. Loved it. Looking forward to this shared world with various authors.

This was an amazing book! I love fairytale retelling and this was definitely one of my favorites. I didn’t care for one of the main characters (they always made me mad and had me shaking my head) but it definitely put emotion into the book. Of course I had all kind of other great emotions, I laughed and I teared up. I would absolutely recommend this book!

Let me explain its main idea first: it is an adult, polyamorous version of the traditional fairy tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears, set entirely in the high-pressure, excitement-filled world of professional ice hockey. Given such a combination, I'd be the first to jump at the chance to read it.
Daisy Ray presents this classic fairy tale so skilfully that it fits perfectly into the Omegaverse setting while still feeling both new and familiar, with the comforting atmosphere of the traditional. The main character is Kallis, known as Bee, and she is described as sharp and self-reliant, with exceptional and genuine attention to her neurodivergent characteristics. The details of her experiences are shown in an uncomplicated yet gentle manner, as though the actual life story of a real person had been accurately recorded. She has firm social boundaries and particular sensory reactions to light, sound, and touch, and none are presented as defects others are expected to help her overcome.
Rather, these characteristics are naturally present in the way she relates to her partners and form an inseparable part of her personality. The fact that Orso, Mathan, and Artie initially struggled with boundaries, then gradually learned to respect her need for alone time, and eventually developed a steady, lasting bond with her meant that every touching moment in the story made me laugh without being able to stop.
Let us consider the three men who correspond to the "Three Bears" in the fairy tale: Orso, Mathan, and Artie. The dialogue is also lively, with playful arguments, clever banter, and tender, vulnerable moments when they are brave enough to reveal their most sensitive feelings. The one minor downside concerns the character Artie; his youthful impulsiveness and that endearing habit of seeking attention by clinging to other people can at times be rather overwhelming, since his almost excessive warmth leads you to want to lean in and say, "Baby, can you just keep quiet for five minutes so that everyone can catch their breath?" Nevertheless, this small criticism in no way diminishes my affection for the book; on the contrary, it shows how vivid and richly detailed the characters are, as they escape the dull, one-dimensional Alpha stereotypes that plague so many Omegaverse stories, with each character unique.
To sum up, Goalie Knots combines everything I enjoy: the romantic and emotional tension typical of the Omegaverse, a polyamorous relationship dynamic, the intense, passionate energy of ice hockey, and the whimsy of a classic fairy tale.
It’s a tale about discovering people who fit your rhythm and then creating a home that makes room for everyone; it is exactly the warm, solid, wonderful story I have been looking for. Omegaverse is one of my absolute favourite genres, so when you tell me you're giving me a grown-up Goldilocks and the Three Bears retelling with a polyamorous relationship AND hockey players?

Goalie Knots was such a fun switch-up for me, and I really enjoyed how Daisy Ray took the familiar Goldilocks inspiration and turned it into something that felt completely at home in an Omegaverse world.
Kallis, aka Bee, was easily one of my favourite parts of the book. She's intelligent, fiercely independent, career driven, and knows exactly who she is. I especially appreciated the neurodivergent representation and how it showed up naturally in the way she experiences and interacts with the people around her. Her boundaries around touch and the moments where she becomes overwhelmed aren't treated like something her partners need to "fix." Instead, I loved watching Orso, Mathan, and Artie learn what she needs and become people she can feel safe with while still allowing her to maintain that independence.
And speaking of her three bears...

I loved that they each brought such different personalities and energy to the relationship. It really played into the "too hot, too cold, just right" Goldilocks theme without making the characters feel like they existed solely to fulfill their fairytale roles. Their individual relationships with Kallis develop differently, and I enjoyed watching those separate connections eventually become part of the larger dynamic between all four of them.
The banter was another highlight. There are plenty of sweet moments mixed with sass, dry humour, flirting, hockey, and all the Omegaverse goodness I came here for.
My only real hiccup was Artie.
I understood that he was younger and that his bubbly, enthusiastic, needy personality was deliberately different from the other guys. It absolutely works within their group dynamic, but occasionally it became a little too much for me personally. 😂 There were moments where I wanted to reach into the book and tell him, "Baby, I love you, but give everyone FIVE MINUTES."
That didn't take away from how much I enjoyed the overall relationship, though. If anything, I appreciated that the three men were distinct enough that I wasn't reading three variations of the same alpha.
Overall, Goalie Knots was such an entertaining combination of so many things I already love: Omegaverse, hockey romance, polyamory, fairytale retellings, found connection, and characters with completely different personalities figuring out how they fit together.

This was my first book by Daisy Ray, but I don't think it'll be my last!

This book officially made me rethink Goldilocks. I never cared much about the original story, but give me three very different men, a determined heroine, and a slow-building relationship, and suddenly I am completely invested.
Kallis was such a breath of fresh air. She knows herself, she knows what she wants, and she is not willing to abandon her plans simply because fate has other ideas. I really enjoyed watching her navigate her instincts while still maintaining her boundaries and making decisions for herself. She never felt like she lost who she was just because she found her mates, and that made her journey so satisfying.
The guys could not have been more different, which made their dynamic so much fun. Mathan completely stole my heart. He was sweet, patient, affectionate, and incredibly supportive, basically the emotional glue holding everyone together. Artie brought so much energy to the group. He had major puppy energy, constantly looking for attention and keeping things lively. And then there was Orso. Protective, grumpy, difficult, and somehow still completely lovable. He had so many walls up, and watching him slowly find his place with Kallis really got to me.
I also loved that this story did not rush the relationships. There was actual time spent getting to know each other, building trust, developing friendships, and figuring out what they wanted before the bonding happened. As someone who loves a good fated mate or insta-love situation, I was surprised by just how much I enjoyed this approach. It made the connections feel earned rather than simply inevitable.
This was such a strong start to a multi-author series, and I am officially hooked. If the rest of the books bring this same level of character development and relationship building, this series is going to be dangerous for my TBR.

This is my first book by Daisy Ray, and I really enjoyed it! I love a good hockey romance, so adding Goldilocks and the Three Bears, omegaverse and why choose into the mix definitely caught my attention.
Kallis is a brilliant neurosurgeon and a bit of an ice queen who struggles socially and with unwanted touch. She meets Orso, Mathan and Artie, three hockey players who have already been together for years, and somehow she ends up becoming the missing piece of their pack. I really liked watching the four of them figure out what they were becoming and how naturally their bond developed.
The neurodivergent representation was one of my favourite parts. Kallis’s struggles with people and physical touch felt believable, and I loved how supportive the three men were when she became overwhelmed. They gave her a sense of safety and comfort without trying to change who she was. And the dry humour and flirting between them was so much fun!
Artie was sometimes a little TOO enthusiastic for me 😂, but honestly, it worked for the story and balanced out Orso and Mathan’s personalities really well.
Overall, this was a fun, steamy hockey why-choose with a unique fairytale twist. I really enjoyed the established relationship between the three men and watching Kallis become part of it. Definitely an author I’ll be reading again!

Goldilocks Got an Omegaverse Upgrade
I really enjoyed this Omegaverse retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears! The hockey aspect was phenomenal and definitely one of my favorite parts of the story. That said, I did struggle a little to connect with this particular pack and their omega.
Kellis is an omega doctor who comes to the Bears to learn more about the neurological complications that can arise from playing hockey. She has a difficult time accepting the love and connection that should come from her scent-matched pack, which creates quite a bit of tension throughout the story.
Orso is the pack leader, and because of his rough past, he absolutely despises the omega. He likes things the way they are and definitely isn’t a fan of change.

Meant for each other
A sweet and funny omegaverse why-choose romance.
This isn’t a dark story, although there are a few situations that can be difficult to read.
For example, our FMC hasn’t had an easy life, whether because of her difficult and cold family—seriously, I wanted to put them in their place!—or because of her own personality, which makes her feel like she doesn’t quite fit in socially.
Our omega FMC is a doctor whose world gets turned upside down by three alpha hockey players. And for someone with autism, changes are not exactly easy to deal with.
She had her professional future all neatly planned out, and that was the one thing that truly mattered to her.
In turn, she also brings plenty of chaos, and a whole new spark to the lives and relationship of our MMCs.
What saves the day is that our MMCs are very appealing, even if they aren’t all easy to understand or live with. But we also have to cut them some slack—they certainly weren’t expecting to find her either.
They all have very different and strong personalities.
We have the grumpy, dominant one who struggles with change; the sweet bear whose presence makes you feel right at home; and then there’s the sweet, dreamy, completely unfiltered one—which is what makes him hilarious—and he absolutely knows how to idolize her.
The relationship between the MCs is intense and seriously steamy.
It was an absolute delight to read this story!

This is a new author for me, so i was very excited, now the story starts with Kallis, who is a bit of a neurodivergent? And a genius apparently as a neurosurgeon, but instead of getting offered a higher paying job to be the head of the neurosurgeon department. Her friend who happens to be working at the hospital suggests that maybe she tries something else before she goes and tries to put a name in for this job. Because most people know neurodevergence, not exactly the most social, that is where her problems really start, or where they end.
Well, she's taking a sabbatical and starting a research that she's pretty sure will give her the job that she wants. She meets three men which is Orso, Mathan and Artie, who are in a relationship together and have been together for at least 5 years for the three of them and 15 for Orso and Mathan, so those 3 have a group, but the arrival of callus seems to throw everybody off and yet bring them together. I'll go. The drama between one of them and Kallis, seems like it's is a lot ... and the feeling's you get while reading definitely pull you in, you can't help but two keep going through the story. Love love love. I've been so excited for this new multi- author series and boy did it start off amazing! Goldilocks was never my favorite story, but this retelling completely changed my tune!
I love Kallis with her boundaries, goals and no nonsense demeanor and watching her fight her biology and her mates to stick with her goals, stay true to herself, form relationships and bond on her own time was fantastic. Mathan was my favorite, he was such a teddy bear.. he's supportive, understanding and loving and truly balanced everyone out. Artie is like a puppy, full of energy, always wanting attention and slightly pushy, but I enjoyed the way he livened things up. And Orso, such a lovable, protective asshole.. he had the most issues and the most trouble connecting, but I felt for him, so hard...I truly enjoyed the relationship that blossomed between him and Kallis.
I also enjoyed the plot & timeline of this story, I love the way the characters actually took time and put in the work and formed lasting relationships before the bonding occurred. Don't get me wrong, I so love the insta love/ bond, but this was such a refreshing take on a realistic approach, that I absolutely loved.

My absolute favorite genre is a whychoose and it's even better if there's mm content within the book. I will say it didn't disappoint. Kallis finds out that she has scent matched to three of the Bears hockey players when she takes a temporary job. She doesn't want to be owned by a bite from a alpha even if she is their scent matches. Kallis is a surgeon and her career is very important to her just like hockey is important to them. Orso has an injury and accidentally bites her. But he has his own conflictions and doesnt want to mess his pact up for an omega, let alone a scent match. As you can imagine the tension whether is was accidental or not was high. Artie is the energetic alpha who has been searching for "his" omega for as long as he can remember and cant seem to tame himself around her. And then there's Mathan who is soft in all of the right places and is the referee in a sense to keep everyone calm.
I love how all of their ups and downs along the way ended up in the "bitemobile."

I think this is the first of Daisy Ray's books that I've read, so I wasn't sure what to expect going into it. I really enjoyed the story! It's a very fun, omegaverse twist on the classic tale of Goldilocks. I did appreciate how the FMC is clearly portrayed with neurodivergence, but it wasn't made to be the worst thing ever. With her being in the medical profession, it just means she has a brisk bedside manner, and somehow made almost an entire hockey team of big strong men afraid of her, which I found hilarious. Please don't misunderstand, however. The FMC is never portrayed as being unfeeling or cold, that's just how she comes across to others. That does not deter the MMCs in the slightest. Well, except for "Daddy Bear." He's resistant, but not because of her, but because of what happened when they first met. There is a lot of very sweet moments between the FMC and 3 MMCs, and the ending was very satisfying. I will definitely read more of Daisy Ray in the future!

A steamy polyamorous romantic adaption of the Goldilocks fairytale, where the three bears are hockey players with very different personalities. These differences between the four MCs are well depicted and relatable, although the bubbly, over the top enthusiastic Artie is sometimes a bit too much to my taste. But in the story it works really well. The autistic side of Kallis is primarily portrayed in the way she acts with other people and how unwanted touching can throw her into a panic attack. I loved the way the support of her three bears give her strength and relief. And the sassy flirting and dry humor as well.
This is the first book I read by this author, but I expect it won’t be the last.
If you like to immerse yourself into a polyamorous story, this is definitely one to get.

I think this is a carefully well thought out retelling of Goldilocks.
I love the comparisons between the fairytale and this story, even down. the Goldilocks’s hesitancy and how each pack member is associated with each of the bears. I love it!
The characters are well developed, and are very relatable. I feel for Kallis as she is desperate to be independent, but is completely dominated by her more forceful parents. Whilst Orso, Mathan, and Artie are desperate not to be hurt. I love how each of them handle things differently, from grumpy Orso who doesn’t want to take a chance at all, to steady Mathan who knows what he wants, but still wants to take things slowly, to make sure he is making the right choice, and finally to hyperactive Artie, who reminds me of a sweet and cuddly puppy who wants all the attention.
This is a great read, which is full of loveable characters and is thoroughly entertaining.

I've been on a little bit fairy tale retelling kick and since this series is OV, I jumped on board. I love how strong our FMC, Kallis is. Well except with her parents... Besides that Kallis knows what she wants and believes she knows what she doesn't, her parents did a number on her. I loved how this wasn't an insta-love OV, I love those too but its nice to see different ones. The guys are an interesting group. You have Artie, the youngest and most energetic member of the pack, he's like a puppy. Then Orso who is grumpy and frustrating with walls the height of skyscrapers, he is the head of the pack and MMC with the most issues. Last but not least my fav, Mathan, he's not just my fav because I was pretending to hear the audiobook version of him. It's because he is so centered and sweet and to be honest not a ripped guy. I love that he's squishy. The storyline was really good, trust was earned not immediately given. The spice was really good. And the characters were amazing.

I have a soft spot in my heart for good retellings and this book definitely fits that category. Kallis, our Omega FMC, is very determined to reach her goal of being at the top of the neurosurgery world. She doesn't have time for things and people that can derail her life plans. Fate has other ideas when it sends Orso, Mathan, and Artie from the Golden Bears hockey team to her. I love how their names connect back to the original story. It adds another layer to the retelling. I think one of the dangers of having a why choose is that it can be very easy for the guys to blend together or overlap. That was not an issue in this book. Each of her guys fulfills a different need for Kellis and has a different personality. You have everything from grumpy to golden retriever. I really enjoyed this and it makes me excited to see the other books in the series.

This book was so much more than I was expecting and I loved every second of reading it. It was so good. Full of heat and tension and spice and sweetness. Goldilocks was never really my favorite fairy tale but this version just might be. Kallis is an absolute force. She’s determined in all aspects of her life and truly knows who she is. Her connection with each of her men were unique in their own ways but all worked together so well. They all were their own persons but fit together to form one of the most well bonded and sweetest packs I have read. I appreciated how their bond wasn’t forced or rushed. It made it feel so much more genuine and strong that way. And can we just talk about that ending. Ooooffffffff I was fanning my face and blushing so hard the entire time. Worth every moment that caused me stress before by making me wait.

I want to start off by saying I enjoyed Kallis, our MFC who is an Omega has a hard time expressing herself. Her character is perceived so well. Daisy Ray did an amazing job creating the characters in Goalie Knots.

The way that Bee goes into the job deadset on treating everyone as patients and being seen as cold and unfeeling to ensure she is seen as above her Omega station. But it all changes when she meets her scent matches, but she does not go willing into the commitment. I absolutely loved the way that the fairytale of Goldilocks and three bears is transformed in this imaginative way. I admire the way that each character has their own development across the course of the book, and we get to see them all grow and change as a pack, working on their strengths and weaknesses.

I was very excited for this one because I love hockey romances. I love how well thought out all the character names are and that there meanings all tie back to the story. But I think my favorite part is that true to the original tale Bee goes to find the bed that is not too soft and not too hard but just right. All the members of the pack truly embody the original three bears but the story is still uniquely its own.

Amazing!!! I have no words!! I was lucky enough to receive an arc copy and let me tell you!!! Simply amazing. It’s so lovely to see books with FMCs that have real personality and struggles. It’s also amazing to read and see how the mmcs navigate their relationship despite those struggles. I really felt for Orso and I love the bond Kallis and him slowly formed throughout the book. Artie!!! Sweet Artie ! Loved everything about him! Definitely a golden retriever (with teeth sometimes!)

This was an absolutely amazing book. I loved this omega-verse I love that it was a why choose. This was just one of those books you read and you absolutely love.

This was such a great Goldie Locks retelling. Especially with Beess as a that’s working hard to be the one that runs the hospital where she’s working. So working at the words with these hot as sin bears, that also have the hots for her, pulled me in and kept me invested. I loved seeing her try to deny the connection. Keep it professional. But it was so difficult. The back and forth was great. This was sweet and steamy, and I loved getting lost in this one.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears but omegaverse style! Kallis is career driven, loved that. Related to that. But when she's not achieving her goals as quickly as she'd like, she changes jobs and becomes the hockey team's physician where she meets her scent matches. Orso, Mathan and Artie, your three bears, are so different from one another. The story follows the path to finding and accepting each other as packmates while not losing themselves in the process. Great read.
