I am so excited this is a series. I loved the characters and that it was set in Hawaii. Juliana is trying to start over after the death of her fiancé and her career now on the line. Off to Hawaii she goes when her aunt needs help after a fall. Her stay is temporary but she slowly starts to fall in love with this place and her career as a journalist can be done anywhere, really. She enjoys the work she has started at the hotel until her dead fiancé walks in with his new wife. How is this possible? She buried him, in the ground after a horrific car accident.... and yet here he is? Or at least it appears to be him. To get past this shocking event and to help with the rumors of what happened, she agrees to act as if she is in a relationship with one of the towns most eligible bachelor's. He saved her from this embarrassing scene after all, and it will help him keep his mother off his back about finding someone. Just for a few weeks and then she can go back to Boston, back to her career and things little jaunt to Hawaii will be long in the past. But this town is growing on her, the people, the friendships, the stories and this fake relationship seems to be turning into something but can she move on? Can her new life really be here on this island? A good friend goes missing, the truth about this elusive look a like guest is back for another visit at the hotel, and the truth about her career all explode just as the local volcano recently has. Juliana can now clearly see what she wants in this new life, just like the volcano also brings about good after an eruption. I highly recommend reading the bonus chapter! Thank you to the author and publisher for the complementary novel and to Suzy Approved Book Tours for the invite. This review is of my own opinion and accord.
