Using contemporary, full-color photos featuring children learning basic dance techniques in a real ballet studio, this first ballet book captures all the romance of dance for young readers.
My daughter loves it: she practices the five positions and basic dance techniques presented in the book. Lovely photos, and easily understandable information. This book is a great introduction to ballet, and will surely motivate children to attend a ballet class.
The photos are beautiful. But as a ballet student myself (in fact both of my daughters and I ALL take ballet classes) I can't help but roll my eyes when right next to text explaining that "ballet steps have French names" is a caption showing students doing a releve and instead saying "this is called a rise. Huh?
