A frenetically paced, truth-is-stranger-than-fiction dive into the 80s and 90s world of club kids. The infamous Michael Alig and his NYC crew are normally the subjects of these kind of books, but this memoir focuses on the scenes in Houston and Miami. A large cast of friends (and sometimes the not-so-friendly) weaves in and out of the life of the author, a well-known nightlife figure with the alter ego of Ghost. Stevens engagingly lays out an unvarnished, warts-and-all accounting of his life, but I felt like there was another, more primal layer that wasn't quite explored. I desperately wanted to see photos of Ghost and the characters in his orbit, although I understand the author's reasons for leaving them out. Still, a recommended glimpse into another side of club culture; fans of this genre will eat it up.
This book is so amazing and very nostalgic it brought back so many memories back in the 1990s and 2000s I really enjoyed reading this book it touched my heart and soul the author and editor Stephen vestal AKA ghost is one of a kind and a great friend of mine.
