The book called The Midnight Library is a well written book. The book is about a girl who is going through some problems with her family's health and such. Her mom ends up in the hospital and there's not exactly anything that she can do. She hears voices of people talking, listens into phone calls between people all the time, and this so called power isn't something she can control. The book is good if you like mysterious and kind of creepy books. It definitely portrays an image in your head of what the entire storyline looks like. Onto the next section, a child named Tim is being taunted by the old man next door's orchard. The apples in this old man's orchard are the "best" apples around. After that, a child named Justin is being targeted by his shoes that he wears, he becomes terrified of them. The novel "The Midnight Library" is a good, descriptive book. I would suggest reading this to others also.

One day, Kate hears voices while she's in the graveyard putting flowers on her grandmother's grave. It was her sickly mother's request; she fulfilled it before she went to school after her visit to her mother's hospital bed. Of course she just thinks that the whispers are someone talking, since the halls are really hollow and you can hear just about anything from the graves. Well, when the days pass by she starts to hear phone conversations that talk about things that haven't happened yet, so she goes and talks to her mom, who is recovering from her illness. That same night, though, Kate hears a phone conversation that reveals a terrifying future.

Justin has gotten brand new shoes because of some random `contest' at the sneaker store -- but what he doesn't know is that even though the shoes might be really cool, what they do is not cool at all. When some incidents happens, such as when Justin's neighbor's car is covered in yellow paint, he finds that the bottom of his shoe is covered in YELLOW PAINT!!! Then some days pass and he locks his shoes in his closet -- he's sure that someone has been taking his shoes and committing these unreasonable crimes. Then he figures out that it's the shoes themselves doing the crimes! When he's had enough of the shoes, he decides to take them to the dumpster and just throw them out for good -- but something very weird happens that might just put Justin's life in jeopardy!

Tim is over at his grandmother's house while his parents are away. He's exploring on a very nice warm day, and comes across a beautiful orchard full of apples. He's just sitting there, having a good time, when his neighbor comes out and tells him to leave. Furious, the neighbor comes barging into his house and tells Tim and his grandmother that if he's over at the orchard one more time they're going to have the worst time of their life. Tim gets so mad that the next day he goes over and does some damage to the orchard. After his satisfaction was complete, he took an apple and started munching on it. The next day, he feels sick -- and some very weird things start happening.

VOICES is a total thriller all the way to the end. These were three of the scariest stories I have read, and I give this book an absolute 5 stars!

This is the first book in the Midnight Library series. It contains three stories, beginning with the story of Kate, who suddenly starts hearing voices.

The book sort of reminded me of Goosebumps. The stories are fast-paced and a bit creepy. I personally didn't find them scary, but the stories were good, especially for October reading.

Not one of my favorite horror books, but it was an enjoyable read.

A interesting book. I like that this book contains three stories/tails and each one is different. I enjoyed the first one a lot more that the other two. It was very interesting that these kids have encountered with these supernatural things. The first one was my favorite simply because of how interesting it was in the sense of it is the power I would want the most to happen to me. Being able to hear phone calls and then using this to your advantage like the main character did would be great. But after a while I would probably get bored of that. The second story was my least favorite and the third was ok. The reason I disliked the second story was because it wasn’t really interesting. It was about a boy who’s should would randomly do mischievous things, like mess up the boy’s mother’s flower bed. It wasn’t too bad, but my least favorite.

But, it was good anyway.

Bokbeskrivelse:

Appellfaktorer:
Uvanlig grøss, mørk slutt, korte historier, magisk realisme, ingen hjelp fra voksne.

NOTES & THOUGHTS
• Creepy and spooky.
• Easy to read.
• Oddly creepy for a "children's" book.
• Simple writing style.
• A lot of fun to read.
• It reminded me of reading this as a child.
• 3 short "horror" stories in one.
• I enjoyed this a long more as a child, as it's obviously aimed at younger readers.

I LOVED
• The themes.
• The story ideas.
• That this was 3 short stories in one book.

I DIDN'T LOVE
• That it's quite obviously aimed at readers much younger than me. I absolutely loved this when I read it when I was around 8-10ish.

I thought these stories were okay for an elementary kids, however I did not find them scary at all. They were more like puzzling to me. I picked up this book for a possible choice for a Hallowed read for my kids and will not be gong with it. I just don't think there is enough of a spook factor in here. This book reminded me of the Goosebumps series - very similar and okay to read for the young ones interested in paranormal.

I really liked this one- however I didn’t feel super connected to the main character like I did in, say, the lovely bones- but the over arching story was very enlightening- I like the idea of destiny and fate and the hands your dealt in life being the perfect path for you -

Çocuk kitabı desen değil korku desen değil ilk iki öykü fazla tahmin edilebilirdi ara ara gerilim yaşatsa da diyalogların acemiliği yüzünden sıkıcıydı diyebilirim. Kesinlikle tavsiye etmem.

For me, it all started 9 years ago with the Midnight Library: The Whisperer. It was that book which got me into reading.

The midnight series books revolves around mysteries, strange things happening, paranormal phenomenons, protagonist facing mortal peril. . .

Preteens and early teens will have fun with this one. It will later throw some of them into the dark fantasy genre.

The midnight library by Damien Graves is a horror/mystery novel with three very unique and different stories inside. The book is very excellent at leaving you wanting more and what happens next. The names of the three stories are Voices, A Perfect Fit, and An Apple A Day.

Voices is about a girl named Kate who recently discovered her mom has a mysterious illness that is slowly hurting her. That is until one day Kate's mom is suddenly healed and feeling much better. But soon after Kate starts hearing voices of people talking. Kate discovers that these voices have not even happened yet. For example, on the day her math teacher assigned them a test. She hears voices of er teacher suddenly getting sick which shockingly actually happened. After a while of this nonsense Kate goes to her mom to talk about the voices. Which left a big twist ending.

The second story is called the perfect fit. It is about a boy named Justin who buys sneakers that make him amazing at anything especially soccer. Bt the shoes take a big turn o him when he comes home and the shoes have a bunch of dirt on them. Justin get suspicious when he knows he did not lay in the dirt and remembered strictly avoiding that getting him in a lot of trouble with people.

The last story, an apple a day is different from the last two stories. It is about a young boy named Tim who is mad about his neighbor scaring his grandma after his neighbor accusses him of eating one of his apples. Tim tries to get him back by spelling out the word "bully" with his own apples in his backyard and eating one of the apples. range things start happening the next day when he starts coughing up apple seeds and growing leaves out of his ear. The book slowly turns Tim into a literal apple tree.

I would suggest this book for anyone who loves suspense and mystery. I overall think that the book was pretty good but could work on the characters and what they are thinking

The Cat Lady includes three stories. In the titular story, “Cat Lady,” Chloe takes a dare to throw a stone at the window of the local creepy old woman whose house is filled with cats. In the next story, “Who Dares Wins,” Mark and Calvin, friends who are naturally competitive, vie for the attention of the mysterious Chrissie. The last story, “Don’t Wake The Baby,” is about a babysitting job gone awry. The quality of the stories is uneven. The titular story is the strongest, with the most ouch appeal. The last story has a definite creep factor, but unfortunately, the storytelling is weak. The Midnight Library series is targeted to ages 9+, and is hosted by author Damien Graves; each title contains three tales of horror. If there is currently a successor to the Goosebumps series it appears to be The Midnight Library. The stories range in length and fear factor, but are engaging enough that kids will want to read the next one.

Titles in the series include:

The Cat Lady

Voices

Liar

Blood and Sand

End Game

Deadly Catch

I Can See You

Shut Your Mouth

Kate was an ordinary girl living with her family. Her mom was really sick and she stayed for days at the hospital. Kate didnt want her mom to die and she brought her gifts every time she visited her. One day she visited her grandmother at the grave. On her way home, she heard voices around her head. She couldn’t understand why this was happening to her. One day she discovered that she was able to hear other people's conversations. one day she heard her dad talking in the phone. she heard his conversation that mother had gotten worse. she could even die. she wanted to run to the hospital but the voices in her head stopped her. she couldnt move and fell on her knees.

this book is good because the way everything was discribed really well. I give it 5 stars because the ending was very good. i wonder what will happen to Kate
