Joker's Endgame: An Enemies with Benefits Billionaire Romance

Rate this book
Maeve
A Wilson wins or dies trying. My father drilled that into me before I could spell “inheritance.” Nothing—and no one—gets between us and victory.

Which is why Pierce St. James is a problem.

Once my closest friend, now my fiercest rival, he’s the only person alive capable of matching me move for move… and the one man I absolutely cannot lose to. Only one of us can win. And I’ll burn the entire city to the ground before I let it be him.

Our arrangement is simple. Temporary. No strings. A pressure valve that lets me focus on what’s actually important: winning. Good thing I’ve yet to meet a challenge I couldn’t master—or a game I couldn’t win.

Pierce
I don’t do forever. Hell, I barely do brunch.

But Maeve Wilson? She’s not a woman—she’s a shark in red lipstick. Gorgeous. Brilliant. Lethal. And absolutely the last person I should let anywhere near my bed… or my heart.

We’re locked in a battle where only one of us can win, and the other gets exiled. But the longer we circle each other, the deeper we sink, and the harder it is to pretend she’s just my rival. And if I’m not careful, I’ll lose more than the game.

I’ll lose her.

Jessica Jude writes emotionally-charged kissing (among other things) books about royals and the elite. Her aim in all of her stories is to make you fall in love with the characters and use up box after box of tissues. Her characters are strong and independent, who make plenty of morally gray decisions. She likes her women fierce and her men possessive.

Her favorite scenes to write are arguments. She's been known to stir up drama in her own life when she gets bored, and her family is glad she has an outlet for her occasional Blair-Waldorfism. She lives in a big old house in the midwestern United States with her high-school sweetheart. She has dreamed of being an author since she was six and wrote her first book about a girl named Mary who got lost in the woods. Mary was eventually found, but sadly, the book was never published. Wow, what a rollercoaster of a ride! This billionaire romance is crazy hate to love friends' enemies back and forth competitiveness, only one wins with no strings attached messy kind of end game! The chemistry between Maeve and Pierce is off the charts! Maeve is a stubborn FMC where her walls are up and she is raised to always win or die trying! Pierce trying to bring her walls down is not an easy task! What a cliffhanger we are left with, so the story continues on, and I can't wait to see how it unfolds in the next book!

Thank you to the author for allowing me to read this gifted e-copy in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions.

I loved that this story focused on Maeve and Pierce with their strange relationship dynamic. The entire group has been coupled off, except for Maeve and Pierce. They are in the same friend group, but are constantly at each other’s throats! They are now playing for much higher stakes. They are playing to see who gets to claim the friend group and who has to walk away!

What would you do to keep your friends? Is this even a game worth playing fair? Where does this end, and will the group ever be the same.

I enjoyed this book a lot! It fell short of being a five star, because I felt like Maeve was not being true to her character. She does many things Pierce says without a rebuttal that she would normally have had in the other books. Other than that, the book is excellent and it is an entertaining read!

Happy Reading,
Crystal E.

It did not come as a surprise that this book was just as great as the others in this series - I wouldn't say that it has everything nice, but it does have a significant amount of spice..

Thank you so so SO much to Jessica Jude not only for this ARC, but for the opportunity of every ARC book in this series!! It was such a delight.

Maeve and Peirce are definitely the most endgame to ever endgame. That word was made for them. However the execution of this book fell flat to me. Maeve was much different during her POV than when she was just a character, which was a little annoying. And the jumps between chapters got confusing quickly.

I also didn’t love how self involved these two were. I know it’s their book, and they have deserved their time to shine, but it seems we’ve forgotten how to be a good friend and also in the process somehow make someone else’s wedding about us?

Overall I loved the ideas, but not so much the way it was written unfortunately. I thought maybe they could take the top spot, but it seems Slate and Lux will keep #1 by a very wide margin.

ARC Review!

First, I would like to say thank you to Jessica Jude for allowing me to read this book as an ARC.

2.5 ⭐️

I was SO excited for Maeve and Pierce's story especially with the end of the previous book and the TENSION. And in the first half of the book, it was giving exactly what it needed to give BUT then Maeve started to annoy and piss me off. I hated the back and forth with her feelings for Pierce. Like Pierce broke up with his girlfriend IMMEDIATELY when Maeve came to have sex with him for the first time. She NEVER broke up with her cheater ass boyfriend even after she knew she LOVED Pierce. Like I do not care what kind of trauma she had, she told Pierce her trauma and still chose the other dude over him. I was willing to see if she would grovel for Pierce because he deserves a big grand gesture. But nope... she gave a maid of honor wedding and declared her love to him but made the wedding about her own problems. I am so over her and Pierce deserves better. I was hoping he would find someone else tbh. The ending also leaves on a cliffhanger with her sister?? Idk. I am glad I am done reading this book and so disappointed that Maeve and Pierce's storyline was written how it was. ALSO there were SO many gaps while I was reading where I was like so we don't get to find out what happens?? Anyways disappointed and would not recommend.

ARC Review of Joker's Endgame by Jessica Jude
Received by Author for an honest review.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! Maeve and Pierce, I've been seeing it since the first book and can't believe this is the last! The banter, the vibes and just the overall hate/love/hate was ***chefs kiss*** can totally relate with Maeve on being scared of love, it really is a process to trust someone. Pierce being her peace, calm and safe zone was so apparent. And that bit where he is trying to tell her he's actually in for a relationship and she doesn't believe him. Maaaan that hurt! And that 3rd act "breakup". Jessica, that was TORTURE, PURE TORTURE!!!!

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH JESSICA JUDE!!! I really do love this book along with this series and can't wait to see whats next! 🤩 Pre-order and impatiently waiting for my physical copy with goodies 🤗

ARC REVIEW

What do you say about the final book of the Hand of Revenge series?!?

It was a messy roller coaster ride in the best way possible! When you put the two most stubborn people of the group together in one book, that is just how it has to be. Chaotic and brilliant. I think this is the best book in the series!

It was eye opening to see a different side of Maeve and learn more about her story and what made her how she is. It explained so much and I loved it! It was also so sweet how Pierce took care of her.

I am sad to know that the series is concluded, but it was such a good way to end. Perfect ending for a perfect series. Thank you Jessica Jude for allowing me to be an ARC reader for this book and the others!

Jokers Endgame - Jessica Jude

ARC Review 📚

This was by far my favourite installment of the Hands of Revenge series. Pierce & Maeve were everything I hoped they would be, strong, stubborn and both wanting to be in control, but when it came down to it…they just NEEDED each other. The sparks between them were just out of this world.

This book was so well written, I absolutely love the way Jessica has captured their emotions. There were moments I had tears and others where I wanted to throw my kindle across the room. You’re in for an absolute treat.

Thank you Jessica for letting me have an early release of the book. Add this to your TBR now!

I received this book as an ARC and this is the best one of the series! I adored these characters and saw so much of my own insecurities in Maeve. I like that this one is written like the characters are speaking to us as friends. Different than the other books in the series but feels more intimate and like you’re a part of it. Pierce is gorgeous and so sweet when he’s not trying to rile Maeve up on purpose. But when he does 🥵

“We’ve always been endgame, and you know it.”

THIS is a crazy, wild, absolutely messy, insane ride that will give you whiplash so get ready! (Hopefully you love it as much as I did!)

Maeve is... Well ... She's a lot. And she's hard to love... At first. Once you peel back those hard shell layers you really grasp why she is the way she is and I ended up loving her. She's complicated, always likes to be in control, and refuses to let anyone crumble those walls she's built up.

Pierce- swoon worthy. Alpha male. He knows exactly what to do/say. Plays the game! His patience when it comes to Maeve. Sigh. He's incredible. The chemistry those two share is undeniable and just radiates throughout the entirety of this. Even when they are at each other's throats.

They push each others last nerve. The banter was top tier. They are competitive and neither backs down from a challenge. The author did a fantastic job with having all their emotions seep from the pages while reading. Both protecting their hearts and making some questionable choices this will have you screaming!!!! How messy it was is what made it so incredible! I couldn't put this one down. With how everything unfolds it makes this a real page turner.

And um I thought this series was over?!? Jessica Jude ... I have questions. That last paragraph?!?!? Why?? 😂 While this might of been the end from the hand of revenge series I have a feeling there's still more to come from Wesbourne 🤞 and if that's true.... I can't wait!!!!!

If you are looking for a fun read then you NEED to give Jessica Jude a try!! This particular book is a billionaire, hate to love, enemies with benefits (she spicyyy) and it is so fun! I loved the two POV and the way they would narrate what was going on sometimes. It really added an extra element to the book! Maeve and Pierce, you have my heart! This is a hard won love story and the last 5% had me absolutely grinning like a crazy person! 🥹 Thank you so much to the author for the eARC. This voluntary review is my honest thoughts and opinions about the book. There are multiple open door spicy scenes in this book, with dirty talk. I would rate 4/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. The banter and the found family that Jessica gives us is top tier! I think you will love this book if you love

Quotes:

“Well,” he says, his voice as soft as caramel, “whenever you’re ready to be laid by a man who actually knows what he’s doing, you know where I live.”

Black suit, unbuttoned black shirt, no tie, and black-framed sexy glasses. Bastard.

She hasn’t made eye contact with me since the elevator. I know, because I can’t keep my eyes off her.

It’s a stupid thing to say, but you try arguing with a Greek god in glasses and see what you come up with.

“I wish you could see that you’re safe with me.” His gaze focuses on my mouth, and for a second, I think he’s going to kiss me, but then he meets my eyes again. “I’m not going to hurt you.”

I am back reviewing book 4 in the Hand of Revenge Book Series from Jessica Jude and she has absolutely out done herself with this one... more spice, more drama, more heartbreak and by far my favorite of the series and also the most traumatic 🥹 I laughed a lot and then I cried so much but it was all worth it

First let me warn you... Jessica Jude has a way of writing that WILL make you throw your kindle across the room at least once in every story... this book was three times for me
The last line in chapter 29 🫠 oh my word Pierce!!
and then chapter 47 because my poor broken heart
and then the ending 🙈 thats it kindle gone, nowhere to be found and I need therapy asap

Seriously this book is phenomenal, it is messy, crazy, wild and an insane roller-coaster ride ❤️
Maeve is a LOT and she is not easy to love and you will question many of her choices in this book but by the end you will be loving her 💙
Pierce is just the absolute perfect book boyfriend, swoon-worthy, drop dead gorgeous and probably the only man on the planet willing and able to handle Maeve but she does not make it easy 🩵
Pierce and Maeve are absolutely endgame ❤️ their chemistry and banter is shear perfection, especially when they fight

This is a stand alone but please read all 4 in order, immediately!! You will not regret it... but wrap your kindle in bubble wrap and bring tissues, lots of tissues

Thank you Jessica Jude for once again giving me a cherished spot on your ARC team 💕

"He is life and breath and oxygen. He is a delectable dessert, a strong glass of whiskey, a warm bubble bath. He is everything I've ever wanted and everything I've been too afraid to hope for."

Maeve and Pierce!! Finally!!

The two have caught my eye from the moment I started this series. With the second book being my first ever arc I feel so happy to have been able to read their story at long last.

We met these two 3 books ago and throughout have caught glimpses of their story. I am so glad we finally got to see the details and meet them properly. I loved learning more about their dynamics, their hatred for each-other and get to know Maeve's family.

This book was everything and more. And I am 100% in love with this couple. Maeve & Pierce have captured my heart and their book is definitely #1 in the series! Their push and pull, the angst and the love. It was perfection.

Thank you Jessica for giving us this series. The cliffhanger has me on the edge of my seat and I cannot wait to see what's next 👀

Thank you so much to Jessica Jude for the ARC of Joker’s Endgame! I’ve been lucky enough to receive an ARC for every book in this series, and each one has completely blown me away.

I absolutely devoured this entire series and I cannot even begin to explain how READY I was for Pierce and Maeve’s story. The anticipation was real… and somehow it still exceeded every expectation I had. It delivered on every level.

Every single book in this series has been a 5-star read for me. The tension is unmatched, the characters are layered and addictive, and the plot keeps you hooked from start to finish. The drama, the revenge, the romance it’s all executed so perfectly.

If you love a Gossip Girl style setting with high stakes, secrets, romance, and revenge, this series is 100% for you.

Do yourself a favor and pick these up immediately. You won’t regret it.

Hey Jessica, wanna meet me outside? I just wanna talk (about that ending)… (Don’t worry - there’s very much a HEA!)

Have you ever felt like you want to reach through the pages and shake some sense into the characters and tell them to get over themselves and admit how they feel? Pierce and Maeve are those characters. They were made for each other. If only they would just admit that to themselves (and each other)… 😤

This was my favorite book in the series and while I’m so sad it’s over, I can’t wait to see what Jessica has up her sleeves next 😏 Highly recommend the whole Hand of Revenge series!!

Thank you, Jessica, for the ARC!

I so thankful to have had the opportunity to read this as an ARC. Thank you Jessica Jude!!! I think I say his every time, but woooowwww, this book really might be my favorite of the series. I love Maeve and really can relate to her, and how hard it is to trust others, and Pierce is soooo hot. I love a he falls first storyline! Literally all perfection. Cannot recommend this series enough! One final thought, this is supposed to be the last book in the series but with the HUGE CLIFFHANGER, all I have to say is AINT NOOOO WAY!

This one! Oh my goodness this was my favorite out of the series. Pierce St. James, daaaaaamn. I absolutely love the chemistry between Pierce and Maeve. The revenge plots have always been fun to read about throughout the series but this one, I love that the whole friend group put together challenges that pushed them together even more.
The spice, oh yes it was so good. The heartbreak with both characters was so real, raw and relatable. But the ending….I NEED TO KNOW! The cliffhanger in this book left me reeling. But seriously, this is a friggin banger!

4.5 stars. This was really good! Maeve and Pierce definitely know how to work your patience and keep you on your toes. This book had me feeling all of the emotions and kept me on the edge of chair, to see which way this relationship was going to go. The cliffhanger in the book wasn’t nice 😂, I literally asked what the heck was that?! Jessica definitely was in her villain era when she wrote this 😂😂 I NEED the next book to know what happens! 😩 all in all, I would definitely recommend! Check her others one as well!

✨ARC Read✨

Absolutely loved this book so much 🥹 This is book 4 in the Hand of Revenge series and while I’ve enjoyed the entire series, Joker’s Endgame was by far my absolute favorite.

Maeve and Pierce are everything I could have hoped for as characters. Both headstrong alphas, stubborn and each have the need to be in control at all times. Their competitive nature has them constantly at odds with each other but the sparks between these two was out of this world 🤌🏻😮‍💨

I cannot tell you how much I loved Maeve and Pierce’s story. The witty banter, the chaos, the yearning!!!! Pierce has definitely hit my fav book boyfriend list 🥺

What’s starts as a heated competition to stay in their friend group, turns into a WILD ride of emotional whiplash that I was absolutely not ready for but could not get enough of.

This book was so well written, poetic and had emotional moments that had be tearing up and also wanting to yell at the characters. Definitely one to add to your TBR 👏🏻

Huge thanks to Jessica Jude for this early read, I loved it so much 🫶🏻

Thanks to Jessica Jude for this ARC read.

This enemies-to-lovers romance delivers exactly what the trope promises — sharp tension, simmering chemistry, and a payoff that feels earned. Maeve and Pierce’s story is an absolute delight, balancing wit and vulnerability in a way that keeps the pages turning.

The writing is engaging and effortlessly readable, making it easy to sink into their world. Their banter crackles, the emotional beats land, and the progression from animosity to attraction feels both believable and satisfying.

Be warned: this one turns up the heat. It’s undeniably spicy, so readers looking for closed-door scenes won’t find them here. Instead, expect passion that matches the intensity of their rivalry — and makes their romance all the more compelling.

✨ ARC Review ✨

Thank you Jessica Jude for the chance to read Jokers Endgame

This is the fourth installment in the Hand of Revenge series. Jokers Endgame focuses on the final 2 characters in the friend group; Pierce and Maeve. It’s friends to rivals with a side of petty revenge, ridiculous challenges, and some panty melting benefits.

I loved the tension between Pierce and Maeve in the first 2 books so to see them in this book and read how their story unfolds was a combination of amusement, panting and some “why on earth would you do that” moments as I shook my phone hoping to shake some sense into the characters!

That cliff hangar though 😱😱😱😱🫠

This was a ride. The series has really changed through each story and I think it was fitting to end it with Maeve and Pierce.

Maeve and Pierce are cut from the same cloth - ambitious, competitive, annoyingly stubborn and blind to their pull for each other. They were designed perfectly for their label "endgame". Their chaotic and strong willed minds are the magnet of their relationship, the need and drive to out do each other was the foundation for this intense romance.

A fun and witty rollercoaster that will leave you wanting more. You'll find you can truly relate with the "high society" of Westbourne as they too come from family dynamics that aren't picture perfect. Even though these are characters in a story, it invokes thought and validation as you go through what the characters do as you read because we are in fact all human even if you have wealth, good social standing, a famous last name, etc. It's well thought out, well written and I'm so sad to see this story to the end.

Thank you Jessica Jude for the opportunity to read this for you and be a part of this story!

But can we talk about that ending?! 😳 I am so confused! 😭😂

Thank you,Jessica Jude, for providing me with an advance copy of this book and for allowing me to ARC read this whole series.

Maeve and Pierce have the tension and banter one yearns for. Their relationship is tested abc tried. I love the endgame of them both, but struggled to appreciate all of the time jumps and the miscommunication between them both.

Overall great story and amazing series.

Brilliantly Written and Highly Recommended!

I want to start by thanking Jessica Jude for the ARC of this book. Joker's Endgame is the fourth installment in the Hand of Revenge series, and remarkably, the stakes keep getting higher with every book.

Pierce and Maeve’s journey is beautifully written and incredibly compelling. Their emotional rollercoaster kept me on the edge of my seat, making it nearly impossible to put the book down.

If you’re looking for your next obsession, pick up this book, buckle your seatbelt, and enjoy the wild ride!

In Jessica Jude's Joker's Endgame, get ready to charter your jet on Tuesday to Wesbourne and join society's elite as they play a poker game where the stakes are higher than they've ever been. Remember: poker first, revenge later.

Compared to the other stories in the series, this one focuses on how two friends, whom everyone knows would be great with one another, are so proud and blind to that very fact, that they easily irritate the other. Who wouldn't be annoyed by your friends that you've known for almost half your life. Maeve Wilson is as cutthroat as she is intelligent and gorgeous. The fearless leader of their group and her family's company. Pierce St. James is one of Wesbourne's most eligible bachelors, and is CEO to several of his family's companies. When she and Pierce St. James have an argument, it escalates even further than anyone would've guessed. With their penchant for poker, the stakes are settled: whoever wins the competition the rest of their group creates wins the friend group, and the loser loses everyone. Both are as competitive as ever, but as they continue playing this game, perhaps lady luck has a say and will play her hand, creating an interesting turn of events, upsetting even those who calculate every possible outcome.

Like the rest of the stories in this trilogy, we do get a glimpse of our other revenge poker friends, as they are running this competition, in case you miss them. In Joker's Endgame, the banter between Maeve and Pierce is palpable from the start. The tension between the two is an amalgamation of competitiveness, irritation, and perhaps a bit of something else, but they haven't figured that out yet, which makes for some great banter and situations between the two. As we journey through the story, you can tell how much they know about each other, despite the fact that they're competing against each other. They recognize that they have some connection to the other, but they assume a benefits relationship while keeping it a secret from everyone else, and they enjoy their release immensely. The months of their secret rendezvous has been some of the happiest our characters have ever been, and they continue deepening their bond to the other, but, there are obstacles in their way that prevent them from realizing the truth. As you keep reading, you wonder if these two will ever realize it.

What I also enjoyed reading about them is how much you can relate to both Maeve and Pierce. On the outside, it looks like they have everything put together, but on the inside they're a mess. Yes, they have a need for control, which drives them to hold this competition, but eventually you realize why they act like that. It's the part of yourself that you don't want anyone to see. When your insecurities can be used as a weapon against you, you've created a facade to the rest of the world as a ruthless CEO. They both internalize their problems and insecurities to the point that it affects them, cracking the shiny armor they wear. But that's life. Not everything is shiny. There are cracks and rust in the armor, but acknowledging the problems and seeking help from those willing to help can be cathartic.

All in all, I enjoyed reading this story, and seeing how this friend group has evolved and grown as individuals who have found their person. I'm curious to see if our author will create a new series set in Wesbourne with our revenge poker group, but focus on someone else. With that, it has been a joy to read each of the four stories in this series, and seeing the crazy situations and banter they have.

I received an advance reader copy of this book from Jessica Jude for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. My intentions are to write feedback that reflects my genuine thoughts and is written with the book’s genre and target audience in mind. I aim to review fairly and respectfully, focusing on the story’s purpose.
