Okaaaaaay so we jump right back in on where we left off in Scars. And I was immensely on the edge of my seat. Like “ohhh I bet this is what’s gonna happen!” And then I just kept getting edged over and over again (lololol)
The lore in this is wild. There is so much information to process in this book, it was hard to keep up but I also have the memory of a goldfish so the details from book one weren’t readily available in my brain. However I was working overtime to figure out the mysteries before they could solve them (I obviously did not)
The yearning. THE. YEARNING. Is there like a little miscommunication/secret keeping that could have been avoided? Yes. However without it, I’m not sure we’d have our man yearning the way he did. Chefs kiss, I love them.
While I did miss the murder mystery aspect from book one (bc a lot of this was lore and world building), I did have a hard time putting it down bc I needed to know what was going to happen. The ending was also a lot to process, I think I’ll handle it better when I reread before book 3. Because I will 100% know I will need to reread.

I might be too dumb to follow this book and all the lore that is in it… but I still loved it.
Roremar… and how he yearns… how he treats Emmeline… how he loves her and the devotion he has… it is 10/10. “You have to be quiet” “Use me” “Eyes on me” “Fast or slow”… yes, yes, yes. I am a big fan of him! Also how he interacts with his siblings and family… makes him a thousand times hotter… just saying. He is a GREAT MMC.
This book really loved to play with your emotions and make you feel so hopeless. There is a bit of a miscommunication trope happening and that is always brutal to go through when you know how perfect the couple is for one another. But I really loved how they came together and I love how they grow together. And I am excited to see how they continue to grow and love one another.
I feel like this book was weaker than the first book in some aspects. And again, I might be too dumb to understand some of the lore and piecing things together, but there is a lot thrown at you that you need to understand and sort into things and it was a little taxing at some points. BUT, as someone who latches onto the romance, there was enough of it to make me still enjoy the book and is still excited to see where this all goes.
I am so happy we got more Desmond and we got new characters as well to learn and fall in love with like Lola and Perry and Rian and Graves and Eston! I am so excited for more because ALL OF THEM ARE GOING TO BE OKAY AND THERE IS NO WAY I WILL ACCEPT ANYTHING LESS. And I NEED more of Des and Lola time… please. And maybe someone for sweet Myrella as well…. She deserves love and happiness after everything… (I am still pissed about Nico by the way).
With how this sets up the next book I am so excited to see how it will all come together, now that we will see this new realm and hopefully get more answers and in depth characters… I am so ready to be satisfied!

Wow. I genuinely don’t even know where to start.
You know how sometimes you pick up a book at exactly the right moment? Like somehow it finds you when you need it most and hits every single emotional nerve you didn’t know was exposed?That was this book for me.
I literally read it in ONE DAY because putting it down was simply not an option. Nicole Platania has written a masterclass in grief, longing, and manipulation... a book about power, and the lengths people will go to get exactly what they want - even when it means playing with other people’s lives.
At the heart of all this are Roremar and Emmeline, two characters carrying so much grief, yearning, and pain in completely different ways - and witnessing their journey absolutely wrecked me.
Being inside Roremar’s head after the revelations of Book 1 was gut-wrenching. The guilt. The grief. The suffering. The internal battles. I felt every bit of it.
And yet, through all of it, there is one thing - or rather, one person - he will always fight for.
“Emmeline DeLeoste was imprinted on Roremar’s spirit.”
Watching the way he continues to show up for Emmeline in whatever capacity he can was a sight to see. He is possessive, commanding, protective, and intense, but above everything else, he puts her and her family first. Always.
And then there’s Emmeline. The way she sees herself broke my heart piece by piece.
“Coveted. Trapped. Kept.”
“Unstable. Out of line.”
“Valuable. Not loved, not wanted. Valuable.”
“The louder you scream, the less others will believe you.”
The way she is longing for a home. To belong. To be seen as something more than a prize. She cannot even comprehend that people could genuinely care about her.
And at the same time she is stubborn, strong, intelligent, caring, considerate, and willing to sacrifice herself if it means keeping her people safe.
Both Roremar and Emmeline are surrounded by people who want something from them - people who see them as tools for their own agendas. But thankfully, they also have people in their corner who love them for them.
Myrella. Lola. Desmond. The friendship in this series is truly something special. And Desmond and Roremar? That friendship has my whole heart. Desmond is easily one of my favorite characters. His loyalty to Roremar is admirable, but the way that unwavering support extends to Emmeline without hesitation? Priceless.

“Promised him I’d look out for you. I wasn’t going to let you be alone.”
MY HEART. 😭
And can we talk about the slow burn?!
Because when I say this is the slowest of slow burns, I mean the tension has been building since Book 1, and there were chapters where it was so thick I swear I could have cut it with a knife.
Chapter 37. HOT. DAAAAAMN.
“Use me, Emmeline.”
“Fates, every part of me is yours.”
And then once these two finally ignite? FULL. BLOWN. INFERNO. They are FIRE. The epitome of love, fate, and the kind of connection that makes every second of that painfully delicious slow burn worth it.
Meanwhile, Roccari and Falliare… I just need these two power-hungry, greedy a*****es to GET WHAT THEY DESERVE 😤
Revels on an Angel's Grave kept me on my toes from beginning to end. I had theories. I had notes. I was questioning everything. I was mentally connecting dots at an unreasonable hour because I NEEDED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED NEXT.
And I LOVE when a book gets me to that point - when I'm no longer just reading. I'm completely immersed, feeling everything right alongside the characters, holding my breath when they do, hurting when they hurt, and celebrating every little victory with them.
Revels on an Angel’s Grave is one of those rare sequels that somehow hits even harder than the first book. It made me feel everything - grief, longing, anger, hope, pain, frustration, and that delicious tension that had been building for an entire book.
Thank you, Nicole, for giving me characters I could feel so deeply and a story that completely consumed me. And thank you for trusting me with this gem early. And Roremar and Emmeline - yeah, I’m not emotionally moving on from these two anytime soon.

Before I even dive into Revels, I want to point out how well Scars sets the scene for its sequel. The worldbuilding, plot, and romance are incredible on their own. You get a great foundation for the magic system and what threats loom over the characters, but as for how it sets up Revels??? You need to lock the fuck in because there are so many threads that are tied between the two books, and they’re all based on what you thought you knew in Scars.
Revels on an Angel’s Grave has higher stakes, even more riddles, and will leave you grasping onto every clue you can. I had to cover the ends of chapters because my eyes wanted to jump ahead. I was that desperate to know what happened next. There’s a lot of lore and a lot of scheming, and Nicole did an amazing job of balancing all of it. Because while the plot involving the Fates progresses, there is still plenty of romance throughout. And I could go on for miles about how much I enjoyed it. The yearning, the physical tension, the selflessness, the sacrifices they make. Emmeline and Roremar are only solidifying their place as one of my favorite fictional couples.
Everyone will take something different away from Revels; that’s the beauty of reading, and I found myself holding onto Emmeline’s desire to belong the most. With the strength of her magic, the rest of the world sees her as someone, something, to wield. They want to own her, for her to belong to them, and this broke my heart. Because for Emmeline, a sense of belonging is what she’s always dreamed of. It’s like fate twisted her words and their meaning, and said Isn’t this what you wanted? But there’s a difference between belonging to someone and belonging with someone. And the latter isn’t dependent on your usefulness. Emmeline is so much more than her magic, and Roremar doesn’t care about what she has to offer. He simply cares about her. It’s undeniable they belong with each other.
Meanwhile, Roremar is wracked with grief and guilt over all the pain his actions have caused. Some people might get upset over him not fighting harder for himself and for Emmeline, but I think it just makes his character that much more real. It’s only human to give in to your emotions, and for Roremar, those dark thoughts are pressing in on him. He experiences a series of emotional ups and downs, and this notion of two complex, opposing forces existing simultaneously becomes a theme in the overall story.
The other characters we love and care for face their own struggles as well. I can’t get into much of the details because there are twists and turns from the beginning of the book until the end, and I don’t want to spoil anything. But know that every character has their own hurdles to overcome when it comes to self-identity, and I really enjoyed the layers this added to the characters.
There is still so much story left to tell, and I’m counting down the days until The Fatesworn Saga #3.

Thank you Nicole Platania for the gifted arc!! First of all, I am obsessed with this series. This is one that absolutely involves A LOT of brain power. While the romance is important, the plot can stand wholly on its own, and the world is so rich with lore and politics. If you’ve read TCOO, this takes place in the same world, so, while it’s not necessary, I do think having read that series in its entirety gave me a good foundation for understanding the complex lore of this series.
This picks up shortly after the end of book 1, and Emmeline is in Valyn. The new almost-chancellor has set up trials for men to compete to become Emmeline’s bonded. Roremar is dropped into the trials and holy yearning!! There’s some miscommunication and secret-keeping that results in insane levels of yearning. While I feel like I’ve gotten pretty fatigued with trials in books lately, I don’t really feel that here because the trials themselves were a pretty small part of the book, and there was so much going on besides the trials.
There’s so much scheming and politics at play in this book, and I genuinely had no idea who to trust. This book has its own set of mysteries I was trying to solve as I read, and of course I didn’t guess anything correctly.
I loved getting to know both the new characters and characters we were introduced to in book 1. Absolutely need more Lola x Desmond. I just feel like the found family in this is going to be so good by the end of this series.

Where to even start with this review.
Firstly, the romance. I was worried going into this, that the romance might take a back seat or they’d be split apart for a large duration of the book. That, did not happen at all and I’m so incredibly happy about.
I in awe of how romantic this book is, each stolen glance or brush of a hand.. it was so beautiful. The yearning between Emmeline and Roremar was a thing of beauty. I was screaming at times and then kicking my legs in the air. They were put through so much that I wanted to cry at times.
The story was a thing of beauty. There was still so much mystery shrouding the plot that I truly had no idea what was going to happen. There are so many devious characters in this and sometimes I felt it was subterfuge and other times I wanted to scream thinking they’re behind it all. Yet, through out it all…. I was still floored by the end. 😂😂😂
I am so grateful that Desmond had more page time in this book. I was confused by his reaction in the first book that I still had a little question mark over his head. Though, when his actions are explained in this.. I felt so guilty 😭😭 Desmond l, forgive me ❤️❤️
The trial aspect of this was really refreshing. They weren’t a huge part of this book and it was nice seeing Emmeline on the outside looking in.
That scene where Roremar is thrust into the scene at the beginning was a work of art. This book would make an insane film!!!!

Where to even start with this review.
Firstly, the romance. I was worried going into this, that the romance might take a back seat or they’d be split apart for a large duration of the book. That, did not happen at all and I’m so incredibly happy about.
I in awe of how romantic this book is, each stolen glance or brush of a hand.. it was so beautiful. The yearning between Emmeline and Roremar was a thing of beauty. I was screaming at times and then kicking my legs in the air. They were put through so much that I wanted to cry at times.
The story was a thing of beauty. There was still so much mystery shrouding the plot that I truly had no idea what was going to happen. There are so many devious characters in this and sometimes I felt it was subterfuge and other times I wanted to scream thinking they’re behind it all. Yet, through out it all…. I was still floored by the end. 😂😂😂
I am so grateful that Desmond had more page time in this book. I was confused by his reaction in the first book that I still had a little question mark over his head. Though, when his actions are explained in this.. I felt so guilty 😭😭 Desmond l, forgive me ❤️❤️
The trial aspect of this was really refreshing. They weren’t a huge part of this book and it was nice seeing Emmeline on the outside looking in.
That scene where Roremar is thrust into the scene at the beginning was a work of art. This book would make an insane film!!!!
Oh and that ending …. Nicole … you are a master at the cliffhanger 😂😂😂😂

Words can't adequately express how much I loved Revels on an Angel's Grave. This is the romantasy series of my dreams. When the world building and the romance leave you breathless, you know it's a book that will stay with you for a long time.

Buckle up because Revels is a beautiful ride. First, I'm going to need all slow burn lovers to GET ON THIS SERIES. Let me tell you, I was in pain reading Revels. The SLOW BURN and yearning are off the charts. I'm not sure if anyone has yearned harder than Roremar. The romance is absolutely heart breaking and beautiful. The character work in this series is my favorite, and it's why I feel so attached and connected with the characters and the world.
Now onto the extensive (complimentary) world building! Wow wow wow. There's so much detail to this magic system and the lore. I am always impressed with Platania's worlds, but Revels truly leveled up. Adding in the mystery element is genius. I love that the MCs are smart and that they recognize their intellect and love that part of themselves.
This series deserves so much love and hype. If you love star crossed lovers and celestial style magic, this is definitely for you.

6 stars for the yearning and 6 more for the intricately woven plot. This might be my most highlighted book so far this year. The first book, Scars Beneath a Serpent’s Scales, was my favorite book of the year and this follow up had everything I wanted and more! More mystery, more secrets, and more spice.
I loved Emmeline’s growth and how she said eff you all, I know what I want. Desmond’s POV was such a great addition! The found family and Roremar’s family made me tear up at points. Nicole writes some of the best found family. I am always invested in her characters.
The last 5 chapters were diabolical and I had to take breaks so I wouldn’t hyperventilate. I’m still processing everything that happened and how everything came together. Can’t wait for the audiobook so I can find all the Easter eggs.

Revels on an Angel’s Grave was a wild ride being the second book in the Fatesworn Saga. There is no shortage of obstacles that Emmeline and Roremar have to overcome, external and internally after the events that unfolded on Lyra at the end of the first book.
The lore and world building is so detailed and intricate, but so intriguing, making you want to figure out how all the pieces fit together.
Emmeline’s journey of inner strength and finding belief in herself. Roremars’ struggles of loss and overcoming it. So much to work through, I’m still processing it all with them!
I can’t recommend this series more! I can’t wait to see where we go next in Fatesworn 3!!

Nicole really has a way of making you fall in love with the side characters! I absolutely love Roremar and Emmeline, especially his yearning for her. 🥹
I did have a hard time keeping up with all the lore in this book, but overall, I really enjoyed it. I’m definitely excited for book 3!

Agghhhh!!!! The cliff?!?! HELLOOOOO! How can you leave us there?! This book was sooo much fun. The trials the yearning the tension the mystery. I completely blank out when I read a riddle or message from the fates and I had a fantastic time!!
