She can’t touch anyone. He could be the exception.

Piper MacMillian is falling behind. Despite being a successful romance author, her childhood trauma has left her unable to touch anyone, something that makes finding love feel impossible. But when she takes a leap of faith and moves to Strawberry Springs, she knows she needs to start living—starting with getting out of her apartment. An older, tattooed coffee shop owner isn’t someone she expects to be interested in, but stolen moments after closing turn into something more. For the first time, Piper finds herself wanting to push her boundaries to touch him. As she feels herself falling for the first man she doesn’t fear, she hopes it’s her turn to find the love she’s only written about.

Theo Murf refuses to get close to anyone. He’s made a lot of mistakes in his past and spent years running from them. Strawberry Springs was never supposed to be a permanent stop, but the quirky town gave him his greatest dream—opening his own coffee shop. When a stunning blonde with an anxiety he recognizes walks into his life, he’s certain she deserves better than a troubled man twelve years her senior. As Theo’s longing grows, so does his fear—especially when his past comes knocking and threatens the peace he’s found. His head tells him to pack up and run, but his heart tells him he’s found something worth staying for.

As they open up about their pasts, Piper and Theo wonder if change is worth the risk. Will they let go of fear and throw caution to the wind as they touch, or will they hold tight to their pasts that haunt them?

As We Touch is a small-town, grumpy/sunshine romance novel with the touch-starved and age gap tropes, set in the town of Strawberry Springs. It’s the fourth in a series of interconnected standalone novels.

I really enjoyed this one!! I feel like i was finally reading a book for the first time in ages where the romance didn’t completely overshadow the characters storyline’s and characteristics.

I felt so connected to piper and theo the minute i started reading. I like that we can see an instant connection and safety net between the two without everything else being super rushed. I’m always a sucker for a small town grumpy opening up to his one person.

I also really liked the fact that Theo knew Piper could handle things on her own — how he didn’t have to come running in to save her every time she flinched or tensed up. He was there but he wasn’t overbearing as if she were weak (completely opposite to joey which she so needed to get away from).

My only thing is that i feel like Theo’s secret is a little over dramatic to be fussed over like he does (i just feel like it’s a common thing to see these days so doesn’t seem realistic for an entire town to have those reactions) but you know what what’s a good book without a little bit of dramatic flare.

A cute small town romance. I adored getting to know Piper and Theo. Both were pretty guarded in their feelings to begin with for obvious reasons but to see them come out of their shells for each other was so sweet.

Theo is hot, tattooed and older (12 year age gap) but is scared to let anyone in because of his past and he doesn’t think he deserves anything good 🥺

Piper is so sweet. She has an aversion to touch but quite quickly begins to trust Theo and she starts putting herself out there. It was so lovely to see.

I’m in love with Strawberry Springs and all its characters.

There isn’t much angst in this book, but I will say Theo doesn’t think it’ll last between him and Piper in case his past comes back and he needs to leave. There is no third act breakup.

The only thing I will say is it was just way too long. I needed 100 pages less and that’s why I’ve not rated it higher. Not much really happened for it to be that length.

Thank you to Elle and Literary Rising for the ARC.

🔥🔥🔥 Spice level ( readers opinion )

As we Touch by Elle Rivers is book 4 in an interconnected Strawberry Springs standalone series.

As we touch is going to be the perfect book for the summer ! It is a Spicy Romantic Comedy with all the feels . Strawberry Springs is a small town of quirky characters and the home of The Reserved Bean owned by Theo Murf , a tattooed hottie who keeps to himself. He has a past he’s not proud of and doesn’t plan on staying in one place long . He’s gotten to know the people in Strawberry Springs and can recite every persons order by heart . He has the best coffee in town and the biceps aren’t bad either!! I really wanted a cup of his coffee through the entire book .
Piper Macmillan is a successful Spicy Romance Author who has been struggling to write recently and moves to Strawberry Springs to start fresh hoping to begin working on finishing her novel. She left behind the only friend she’s had through her life and this is a big transition for her. She has anxiety about exploring the town and being around people and she has trauma from her past that sometimes keeps her away from people . Oh and she’s a virgin and has never dated !!! Will she be able to make new friends, settle in and finish her novel?
Rivers gives her characters depth and unique perspectives and traits that readers don’t easily forget when the last page has flipped . She’s a master at her craft ! If you love spice and small.
Town romance with side troupes and a bucket full of quirky characters of various ages .. you will love As we Touch ! Thank you for the opportunity to read this Advanced Readers Copy .

As We Touch by Elle Rivers was a sweet, funny, engaging and heartfelt book. It touches on the struggles of mental health, healing from your past and moving on.

Piper, a romance author, has a deep fear of being touched. After seeing a small town on a TV show and falling in love with it, she decides to move there, away from her support system, as she thinks it would help hear heal. As we watch Piper navigate the struggles of her mental health, we meet Theo, the grumpy cute coffee shop owner. We really watch Piper become her own person, as well as Theo heal from his troubled past.

Both main characters are so likable. They seem like polar opposites at first, because although Piper’s super shy, she is so loving and sunshiney, but they’re genuinely such a great match. He is so incredibly patient with her, I think it raised my standards.

I love how this book touched on mental health! I loved how the author approached Piper’s fears, and how realistic her experience was. Her healing process wasn’t rushed, nor was it forgotten halfway through the book. It’s incredibly consistent, something I loved!!!

Although I haven’t read the other books in this series, the town felt so heartwarming and sweet! I loved all the main characters, and I loved the found family aspect of it all. The way Hen and Marjorie took care of Theo, even if he was scared to let them in, brought tears to my eyes at the end.

Overall great book and would highly recommend!

thank you to netgalley and elle rivers for an arc in exchange for an honest review <3

At the very beginning, the story was sprinting to explain everything while I was still trying to find my seat. Some dialogues felt a bit like the characters had been hired to give me a rundown on the plot. But once I pushed through those first chapters? I was hooked. The banter started bantering, the chemistry started chemistry-ing, and I was suddenly very invested.

Piper moves to a small town after seeing it on TV. She’s nervous but witty and desperately needs to finish her latest book. Luckily, there’s a coffee shop downstairs and its owner, Theo, can’t seem to look away from her. Theo, however, is carrying his own baggage. Slowly, they find comfort in each other and create a connection that feels like coming home: warm, healing, and just the right amount of swoony.

I loved how this book focuses on mental health and really lets you inside Piper’s head. Her anxiety is described so clearly that it made me realise how overwhelming and “touchy” the world around us can be.

Safe to say I will be reading more from Elle Rivers!

Piper has a lot of trauma and can’t stand to be touched. She moves to Strawberry Springs and meets Theo who knows about having a tough past. Through patience and understanding they fall in love.

Oh gosh this book was amazing. I was super hesitant when I first learned about the 12 year age gap between Piper and Theo. I’m here to say that this is one of the only books that deals with an age gap in a way that does not weird me out. So much time and care was taken to show that these characters were both in the same stage in their lives and were equals. There was no odd power imbalance to their relationship. I’ve read many Elle Rivers books and I think this one is my favorite so far. The amount of care and compassion she showed through the characters was amazing. There are important messages within this book for anyone dealing with mental health issues. This book was amazing and had such a beautiful, fun, and playful romance

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book, thanks so much Elle Rivers.

Strawberry Springs is an eclectic mix of people who all care about their community and its residents. The story centres around Piper who is escaping her past and her fears and the book handles and details mental health extremely well. Piper is sassy, funny and super sweet and a really likeable FMC.

Theo is a real cutie with tattoos and top communication skills. He’s caring, thoughtful and tuned into his and others feelings.

It was lovely to see their relationship develop but I also loved the Facebook excerpts from the quirky SS residents there were some LOL moments for me.

I really enjoyed going back to strawberry springs and falling in love with a new love story.

I received an ARC for this, thank you Netgalley <3

3,75 stars.

I´ve read the first two books in the series - loved the first one, didn´t enjoy the second one as much, but liked it, and haven´t read book 3 because I´m not the biggest fan of the "former playboy" type MMC. But maybe I will catch up on that after all.

What drew me to this book in the first place is the interesting dynamic with a h who is afraid of touch and can´t touch anyone because of her traumatic past. On the other side we get the H, who is basically touch starved, because he has been celibate by choice for like a decade. I love that because I hate the typcial trope of a virgin being with an experienced man who gets around. But Theo is not like that. He also has a darker past he wants nobody to know about and never plans on staying in Strawberry Springs until Piper comes along and makes him question his plans.

Btw the town and it´s people are - like in the other books - absoultely charming and it´s one of the strengths of the series. I wish we got interaction with the other couples but we see most of the other past characters individually and not together as couples.

The romance itself is super cute and the spice is spicing. I love how Piper slowly learns how to trust and touch with Theo. I also like Theo, but for some reason i thought his character is a bit wooden. Also the reason for him being so afraid of judgement for his past is a bit overly dramatic. While he has been celibate, he did not seem as touched starved or lonely as I hoped he would or maybe it´s just not emphasized enough. Maybe I could´ve sympathised or connected more to him emotionally if he were. But I could not connect to him as much as I could to Piper.

I liked the book and it´s more on the cozy side, without much suspense. It handles the delicate topics in a good way though. It dragged a bit at times, because the books clearly focuses on Theo and Piper and their way to healing rather than a plot with high stakes.

I want to read book 5, but not sure, because it seems to contain not one, but two tropes I really don´t like. But we´ll see - there´s no details about the plot yet so I´ll wait before deciding.

In conclusion: This book is perfect for readers who prefer a cute characer driven romance, set in a cozy small town with a tight community.

4 stars (ARC)

Who I think would like this: Readers who love a small town romance with a cosy setting, quirky people who live in the town and care for each other, and a hint of angst. For me it was similar to “The Lovelight Farms” series by BK Borrison and Elsie Silver.

“As we touch” by Elle Rivers is a small town romance following Piper, a romance author with a fear of being touched due to trauma from her past, and Theo, a broody but subtly caring person with a mysterious past. They slowly start to break down each other's walls and find a sense of peace and security with each other.

I loved the relationship between Piper and Theo. They truly are the perfect match with great chemistry, and balance each other out. They seemed like real people as individuals and as a realistic couple. There were a lot of sweet moments, and the way that Theo showed his love through all these different acts were so sweet.

I didn’t know what to expect going into this book, as I have never read a book by Elle Rivers before. But I was pleasantly surprised! I was hooked early on, and I couldn’t put the book down. I usually use romance books for palette cleansers, and this was the perfect read for me at the time! Can’t wait to check out more from this author.

The small town setting was charming and I felt like I could picture it perfectly. There were a lot of unique and quirky characters in the town that were entertaining to read about, and the found family aspect was executed in a way I liked. I assume that this had been built up through the other books in the series.

A big frustration point was Piper’s best friend, but I think that was the point lol. The amount of anger the author pulled from me when he was on page was unreal. Another thing that did not sit well with me was how fast the trauma was overcome in the end, and the fact that “love heals all wounds etc”. I would have liked a bit more exploration and gradual conclusion here. But I still think that the book had some great commentary on the topic, and the rest of the book made up for it.

As We Touch is a sweet age-gap romance that I really enjoyed overall.

This story follows Piper and Theo. Piper moves to Strawberry Springs hoping to gain more independence and work through her touch aversion, which causes panic attacks when people touch her. Theo is the town’s hot coffee shop owner with a complicated past who prefers to keep people at arm’s length rather than let them truly know him.

Overall, this was a heartwarming, slow-burn romance. I really liked both Piper and Theo as individual characters and enjoyed learning about their backstories. They both came into the story carrying a lot, and I liked watching them navigate that together. Theo was incredibly patient, understanding, and supportive of Piper, and I loved seeing the care he showed her throughout the story. Piper’s determination to push herself outside her comfort zone and work toward healing was a highlight for me. Her journey felt both brave and satisfying.

I also loved the side characters and the small-town charm of Strawberry Springs. The community was so quirky and fun that I’m already interested in going back and reading the other books in the series.

My only real issue was the length. I thought the first half was excellent. The slow build, character development, and growing connection between Piper and Theo were all very well done. However, the second half felt a bit drawn out, and I think the story could have benefited from being trimmed down slightly to keep the pacing stronger.

That said, if you’re looking for a sweet, low-angst romance with a touch of spice, lovable characters, and a heartwarming small-town setting, this is definitely one to check out.

I received this book as an ARC from Literary Rising. Thank you to LR and the author for allowing me the opportunity to review before release. All opinions are my own and no requirements were made to allow me to read the ARC.

Ok this book was a cute, easy read, but it wasn’t my favorite. I absolutely devoured “Ruin the Friendship” by the same author and didn’t feel like this lived up to the same standard.

**SPOILERS AHEAD**

The MMC is the dark, quiet type with a past. I’m here for that, but he came across way too “woe is me”. Like ok, he’s cute and has tattoos, but the “how could anyone like me because I have a past” pity thing is annoying.

I had a lot of difficulty relating to the FMC as her fear of touch was so extreme. Nice to see the therapy aspect and how she’s working on herself, but it did seem unrealistic to go from having a panic attack from being bumped into to full on sex in less than 2 weeks.

There was a major opportunity to show growth and have a great side plot with the introduction of Arlo coming to town, but it just seemed like a point of contention for the overall story and never amounted to anything. I kept waiting for him to come back and cause some drama but he never did.

Joey… ugh. As much as I can’t stand him, I suppose that speaks to how great Elle did with writing him. Enough said there.

This book definitely has Hallmark movie vibes. The ultra small town, everyone knows everything about everyone, call a town hall meeting to discuss someone’s personal matters thing was a bit much for me, but if you’re into that type of storyline then you’ll like this.

The 🌶️🌶️ doesn’t start til I think ~70% into the book. I’d probably give it like a 3/5 as well. Like trying to throw something really hot into the mix of the sugar cookie story. It almost felt out of place.

Anyway! Overall, cute. But not my favorite.

OMG I WASN'T EXPECTING IT TO BE THIS GOOD
Ok so I read this author's Contractual Obligations series, or book I forgot which one, and requested to be on the ARC team... completely forgot that I did that when I got the email so I was like This is a Happy Surprise! What am i even reading?
I didn't read the blurb or anything, just hopped in hoping for the best because *mood reading right * so I started reading and let me tell you I laughed, cried, and smiled so hard
I was reading this in the office and the little blurbs or facebook messsaging things were sooo funnyyy
Warning, I haven't read the other books in the series, but I loved how the author made the town so realistic but also heartwarming
This book restored my faith in humanity because lemme tell you Theo is such a sweetheart and an actually realistic MMC who cares about the girl and DOESN'T COMMUNICATE BADLY (except that one time) and he's just so cute
Also, the FMC, Piper, has the fear of touch and she's a romance author, but she's moving to become better so if anyone thinks that it isn't realistic to "heal" so miraculously quickly, I will fight them because she healed entirely at her own pace, but she felt fleshed out and so realistic and their love was so pure, I loved this book so much.
If you love sweet rom-coms, dark pasts, self-sacrificing idiotic men who get their heads pushed on straight, old women who have nothing better to do than gossip, and a whole lot of fun, this book is absolutely for you.

Love,
Ishya
P.S. I got an ARC (i think you knew that) and I feel like this was such a beautiful fun roller coaster
P.P.S. If you have any book recs, feel free to message me or comment on the review :D I needddd recs so bad

Elle Rivers delivers another charming addition to the Strawberry Springs series with As We Touch. Book four follows familiar favorite Theo, the local coffee shop owner, and Piper, a newly arrived author seeking a fresh start. Both are navigating personal struggles and emotional baggage, and watching them slowly realize they may be exactly what the other needs was incredibly rewarding.

While the attraction between Theo and Piper is immediate, this isn't an insta-love story. The real magic lies in the longing, anticipation, and emotional connection that builds between them. The yearning is so well done, making every moment they share feel meaningful and earned.

One aspect of the series I've struggled with in previous books is the small-town gossip, but here it felt much more purposeful. The close-knit community added depth to the story, especially as Piper's anxiety became a central part of her journey. I loved seeing the townspeople rally around her with compassion and understanding rather than judgment.

Rivers also handles the heavier emotional themes with care and sensitivity. The intimate moments complement the story rather than overshadow it, and it's clear how much thought was put into developing this relationship and giving these characters the space to grow.

As We Touch is heartfelt, comforting, and full of emotional warmth, with just the right touch of spice. If you've enjoyed the Strawberry Springs series so far, this is another must-read.

Pick this up if you enjoy:
☕ Small-town romance
💕 12-year age gap
☀️ Grumpy × sunshine
📚 "Teach me" dynamic
✨ Slow-burn yearning
🤍 Mental health representation done with care

Dedication:
To anyone whose past is dulling the shine of their future- you are not where you came from.

When you look at the list out facts about these characters you would neve think they could work. Elle did an amazing job bringing Piper and Theo together. Their relationship was not forced but grew over time. Both characters felt something for the other but did not know how to approach it. They found trust in each other in a way they never did with another person. Consent was big for both of them. Didn't matter what it was they respected the other by checking in. Their growth was beautiful to read about. Elle didn't make everything perfect at the end of the book. Piper still struggled through out the entire book with touch and anxiety. Theo did not FIX her. He just learned how to love her the way SHE needed. There is nothing worse then a book making it seem like the MMC fixed the FMC by love.

Thank you to Elle Rivers and Literary Rising for the ARC. While I received this book as an ARC, all opinions are my own.

I don’t often read small town romance because I’ve shoved them into a neat little category of “shallow, boring nonsense”. Recently, opportunity came my way to join the advanced reader group for Elle Rivers (honestly, not an author I was familiar with) and thought, “why not?”. I was expecting the same, badly written Hallmark, “Big-City meets Small-Town” romance trope. I could not have been more wrong.

What I found in Elle Rivera’ writing was incredible depth of character, real life mental health challenges and story line that drew me in and captivated me. As We Touch is the fourth book in the Strawberry Springs series by Elle Rivers and honestly, I feel like these characters are so real! The characters literally had me laughing out loud with their antics and Facebook group posts (for the love, someone get Hugh a towel 🫣). Piper’s character development was not rushed in any way. The story was allowed to breathe and grow with her struggle to overcome her past. Theo is a dream of a human, if maybe a bit too self deprecating. His care and attention towards Piper was just… precious.

Honestly, I’ve read the popular authors out there and I think this author is every bit as talented (if not more so), than that of Emily Henry or Abby Jimenez. Now I’m going to have to go back and read ALL the books.

This was a rare 5-star read for me. I’m hooked!

ARC review!! I feel so lucky that I was chosen to read this book before its official release because I have been WAITING for Piper and Theo’s story!! Ever since Theo was introduced, I knew this man needed his own book, he was absolutely perfect in every single way.

Their relationship was everything I could have hoped for and more. The way Theo protected Piper, cared for her, and was so incredibly patient with her was honestly amazing to read. I also have to give so much credit to how Piper’s character was written. She was such a unique and refreshing character, and I loved that she wasn’t like anyone else. Watching her grow throughout the story while still seeing how strong she was in her own way made her journey so special.

The banter, chemistry, and love between them was EVERYTHING (literally had zero doubts in this department because Elle Rivers ALWAYS delivers on the romance and spice). I also loved all the little mentions and appearances of my favorite couples from the previous books, it felt like coming home to Strawberry Springs again.

I already know I’ll be rereading this throughout the summer because I can’t stay away from Strawberry Springs for too long. I also cannot WAIT for my girl Jade and Gabriel’s book, I already know it’s going to destroy me in the best way!!

As We Touch had one of the most unique romance concepts I have come across in a while, which is exactly what drew me to it in the first place.

A touch phobic FMC paired with a touch starved MMC is such an interesting dynamic, and I loved the black cat and golden retriever energy between them. The small town setting, found family elements, and cast of busybody side characters also added a lot of charm to the story.

Unfortunately, this one fell a little flat for me. The concept was strong, but I do not think the execution fully delivered. The story felt too long in places, and then once things finally started moving, the ending felt rushed by comparison.

I also found myself wanting more depth from the characters' pasts. We are told enough to understand why they are the way they are, but I never felt fully immersed in their histories. Theo in particular was a bit of a mixed bag for me. At times he showed a lot of emotional maturity, but at other moments his fixation on his past and disbelief that people could accept him as he was felt repetitive and harder for me to connect with.

Overall, I enjoyed parts of this book more than I enjoyed the book as a whole. The premise is incredibly unique, and there were elements I genuinely liked, but by the end I was left feeling a little underwhelmed.

Thank you to Elle and Literary Rising for the ARC!

As We Touch by Elle Rivers was such a sweet, heartfelt reminder that healing doesn't happen on anyone else's timeline and trauma doesn'tdefine you. Watching Piper navigate severe touch aversion and anxiety felt incredibly tender and authentic, and I loved that the story focused on finding people who truly get you instead of trying to "fix" you. And can we talk about the hero? We love a man who understands you, meets you where you are, and never tries to change who you are. Theo's own nervous, shy energy made their relationship even more endearing, and their cute, awkward, tentative moments together absolutely melted my heart.
Add in the small-town vibeswity quirky side characters and this book became impossible to put down. This romance is built on patience, trust, and genuine understanding, making every little breakthrough feel earned and beautiful. If you're looking for a love story about overcoming fears, finding your people, and discovering that the right person won't ask you to become someone else, this one delivers in the best possible way!

Elle Rivers Strawberry Springs series just keeps getting better and better.

ARC provided by Elle Rivers and Literary Rising. Thank you for the ARC.

We follows Piper and Theo, Piper, a romance author, who struggles with her anxiety and moves to Strawberry Springs for a fresh start.

Theo, the coffee shop owner, who has spent a decade trying not to get close to anyone and outrun his past.

These two are just so good together, with a 12 year age gap, instant attraction and two yearning main characters.

We follow them as they struggle with their inner demons, navigating and growing from them. It's cute, it's hilarious and everything about the couple and down are amazing.

There are so many things to love about these two characters, her growth and his dedication. It doesn't matter that he feels like he's not good for her, she just knows in her soul he is. I ate it up, and honestly wish i could read it again.

A solid romance with great growth, but missed the emotional depth.

3.5/5 ⭐️ | 1/5 🌶️

As an avid reader, when I truly love a book, I fully immerse myself in the world and expect to feel a whole rollercoaster of emotions. While As We Touched by Elle Rivers was a very solid read overall, it didn't quite get me feeling those deep emotions.

With that said, I still honestly enjoyed the plot and the characters. The chemistry between the main male and main female character was clear, and it was satisfying to see real growth in both of them. I also loved that there was no third-act breakup, leading straight to a happy ending.

My main critiques are that some parts felt glossed over and lacked backstory, which ultimately kept me from getting fully immersed. It is a good, steady read, but it just lacked that intense emotional pull for me.

I received an advanced review copy of this book and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.

Thank you so much to Elle and Literacy Rising for the arc.

I really enjoyed being back in Strawberry Springs and was ready for a small town romance- throw in some grumpy sunshine, age gap and two characters really trying to be the best version of themselves (despite their pasts) and I was hooked.

Piper and Theo's story was so endearing and I really enjoyed how their relationship built up from small stolen moments to fully public. Piper has a fear of touch, enough so that her life is severely affected by it, and she moves to strawberry springs to challenge herself to work through her fears and carve out a life she dreams of. Theo also has a past and studiously keeps everyone at arms length in case he suddenly has to move again. When they meet, its an endearing story of daring to work towards a future and of course sparks are flying.

If found family small town romances are your thing, absolutely give this series a go!

Lo amé. Piper merece puras cosas buenas.

Thank you @elleriversauthor for the ARC!! This book was a pleasure to read!

I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't put it down, I absolutely fell in love with the story and the characters, Theo and Piper deserve the world!

I was an emotional wreck through most of it. I absolutely loved how each chapter started with an insert from the group chats, made me giggle. The story was written so beautifully Elle's writing is just gorgeous, couldn't get enough.

We have a slow burn romance between a FMC who can't be touched and a MC who is the most patient person ever. They go through their ups and downs and open up about their pasts. I love Piper as she doesn't take any shit and will say what she means and what she wants.

ARC Review:

I liked the longevity of Piper and Theo getting to know each other - didn’t feel rushed, and didn’t happen overnight. Piper was just the right amount of cheeky and sassy and a little funny! I loved her. Theo didn’t make me feel “omg my book boyfriend” vibes, but he was sweet under the tough exterior and you can tell how much he cares for Piper. Going out of his way to offer food at his coffee shop because Piper sometimes forgets to eat? Peak boyfriending!!!

Piper being manipulated by her friend Joey was kind of tough to read, but also such a good representation of the way manipulative relationships can look. I thought it was really well done, although it did make me want to jump into the book to defend my girl! Overall, I very much enjoyed the read and I’m looking forward to finally reading about Gabe and Jade.

Thank you to Elle and Literary Rising for the ARC! I was beyond excited to return to one of my favorite fictional towns. One of my favorite parts of this series is the Facebook group banter, and I was so happy to see it back. I love how so many chapters begin with the group’s posts—it always adds humor and personality to the story.

I absolutely loved this book. It beautifully explores mental health, healing from past wounds, and finding a way to move forward. The story was thoughtfully written, and nothing felt rushed. The character growth and emotional depth made it such an enjoyable read.

I still have a strong suspicion about who is behind the STM grant, and I can’t wait to find out if I’m right! And now I’m already looking forward to Gabe and Jade’s story. Their banter is sure to be entertaining, and I can’t wait to watch their relationship develop.❤️❤️

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this story. I thought that this was a super cute romance novel and it was very different than the romance novels I usually go for. I love a small town romance and in this case both characters aren’t originally from the small town which I loved. I do feel that the story does not do justice on the pasts of either main characters. This leaves lots of questions and much to be desired for background. When I read romance I want to feel like the characters could be real people which is hard when it feels like you’re missing so much. I also felt like there wasn’t much for closure with certain side characters that were mentioned more than once. I love the small town it takes place in though! Over all I loved the book and can’t wait to see what a fully edited copy looks like

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was such a comforting small town romance. I really loved Piper and Theo together and how naturally their connection developed without feeling rushed. Piper’s struggle with touch and anxiety was written in a really thoughtful way, and I appreciated how Theo was supportive without being overbearing or trying to fix her. Their relationship felt soft, safe, and easy to root for. Theo’s past added some emotional depth, even if it felt a bit dramatic at times, but overall it didn’t take away from how sweet their dynamic was. I also loved the Strawberry Springs setting and the cozy feel of the town. This was a slower, more character focused read, but I ended up really enjoying the emotional connection between the two main characters.

Thank you to Elle and Literary Rising for the ARC!

I have really taken an interest in ARC reada as its fun to dive into genres that are not necessarily your go to and you can find new authors!

Overall rating 3.5
Spice 🌶
*I read a lot of dark romance so my reference on spice may be skewed.

I really enjoyed Theo and Pipers story. Talk about a slow burn build up while each MC worked through their own trauma and identified their needs through friendship.

Im not always a big fan of slow burn, but I loved this one.

Hes grumpy, shes sunshine.

Hes touch starved, shes touch afraid.

The plot was well written and the story flowed.

I'd have liked to have the relationship flourish faster with a deeper work on their traumas in the book, but it was an easy and great read.

Definitely recommend.

Also, she really found her voice and I loved that for her.

The author beautifully captures Piper and her deep-seated fear of touching others or being touched.
Theo is a fantastic love interest who runs a local coffee shop. The "old man with tattoos" aesthetic is undeniably hot, and he completely lives up to the town's hype.It is incredibly sweet and wholesome to watch Theo actively make Piper feel comfortable while helping her overcome her fears. It is deeply satisfying that they finally get together in the end. The entire town shares a Facebook group dedicated to local gossip, and the constant bickering among the residents adds a fantastic layer of humor to the story.
A major highlight of the book is Piper's journey to opening up to people. The supporting characters are wonderfully respectful during this transition and never try to overstep her boundaries. Thank you Netgalley for letting me read this tile early .

I am unequivocally obsessed and in love with this book and the entire series.

Piper is absolutely amazing, she's so strong, willing to fight her anxiety and fight through all the hard moments she faces.

Theo might be antisocial but he's a real sweetheart and he's had it hard in life, there's a reason he's the way he is but maybe meeting piper can change it...

The town is full of love and friendship, they're all supportive, they're all kind, they're a real family and I love reading about it every time I enter strawberry springs! They're all also so so funny.

I absolutely cannot wait for the next book, I don't want this series to end but I need more strawberry springs!

I thoroughly recommend both this book and the entire series!
