From Amazon top 20 bestselling author Julie Capulet comes a seductive world of luxury and obsession. Welcome to the Wilder Billionaires.
It was impossible not to notice him, even though I tried. Or at least I tried to try. What I didn’t expect him to do was to turn my whole world upside down.
Amelie Thibodeaux almost inherited her family’s historic Bourbon Street Hotel, which is the only home she’s ever known. Instead, it turns out her beloved late father secretly gambled away three generations of hard work. Which means Amelie is now destitute. And desperate. She’s forced to live by her wits, barely scraping by with three jobs and sheer grit.
When Dallas Wilder walks into the bar of the Hotel Thibodeaux, he’s mysterious. And wildly magnetic.
But as drop-dead gorgeous as Dallas might be, Amelie doesn’t trust him. Because trusting people has never panned out for her. And she needs to survive. Her reality consists of work and struggle. Which makes resisting him easy.
Or does it?
As the billionaire owner of one of New York’s most lucrative investment funds and a major movie studio, Dallas Wilder is ruthless, direct and very good at getting whatever he wants.
What he wants is Amelie.
Behind Dallas’s brutal appeal lies a singular obsession. Her. From the sultry streets of New Orleans to the glittering penthouses of New York City, Amelie is swept off her feet by the most intoxicating man she’s ever met.
But obsession has a dark side. Will his savage addiction for her destroy them both?
Julie Capulet is an Amazon top 20 bestselling author of steamy he-falls-first romance with heart, heat and fairy tale HEAs. She met her husband in a seaside bar on a tropical island and knew within five minutes she'd marry him. She's been writing romance ever since. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, traveling, walking on the beach and watching rom-coms. ♥
Amelie Thibodeaux grew up in New Orleans and now finds herself bartending at her family's hotel, which has seen better days. The once-thriving Hotel Thibodeaux, known for its five-star rating and a Michelin-starred restaurant, is now a shadow of its former self. The Thibodeaux family has a history of hospitality, but they also share a penchant for bourbon and good times, which has contributed to their decline. Amelie’s great-grandfather, grandfather, and father all had a habit of drinking that seemed to be a family tradition, as if they were determined to keep their name alive, fearing it might be replaced by something dull.
Amelie only discovered her father's gambling addiction after his sudden heart attack in the hotel bar. After losing the hotel and facing bankruptcy, she had to swallow her pride and ask the new owners for a job. She managed to persuade the manager, Ellen Jones, a tough woman working for a mysterious billionaire from Houston, that she was essential to the hotel's operations. After all, Amelie was born in Room 27, and she hopes to remain connected to the place she loves, even if it means working under new management.
Dallas Wilder has always had a talent for making money and shares his expertise through seminars on smart investing and saving. Calling him an overachiever is an understatement; he was crunching numbers by the age of seven, which eventually led him to become a multimillionaire.
Tired of the harsh New York winter, Dallas finally decided to take a break when his executive assistant kept sending him invitations to the Elite Investor Conference. The offer included a stay in a stylish yet charming penthouse at a top-notch hotel on Bourbon Street, and he couldn't resist any longer…….. He believed he had reserved a five-star experience, but he had no idea what was in store for him.
If you love reading, Billionaire Romance with that instant love vibe, this one's for you. It features a first love scenario and doesn't shy away from a virgin female main character, which adds a unique twist.
Plus, it includes dual points of view, showcasing both rich and poor perspectives, and has just the right amount of spice to keep things interesting. It's a fun mix that makes for an engaging read!
Amelie Thibodeaux should have inherited Hotel Thibodeaux, once known as the best little hotel on Bourbon Street. Instead, she’s working three jobs and secretly sleeping in a hidden storage room of her family’s former hotel.
When a gorgeous stranger sits down at her bar and lingers until closing, Amelie knows better than to believe his promises.
Billionaire Dallas Wilder has never had a woman - or much of anything else, for that matter - hold his attention for long. But the moment he lays eyes on Amelie, he’s absolutely besotted.
Billionaire Falls First is trademark Julie Capulet with a billionaire hero that falls on the spot for a down-on-her-luck, sweet-as-sugar heroine, a romance-first storyline with just enough plot to keep the pages turning, and smex hot enough to fog your Kindle screen.

Billionaire Falls first is the first book in the Wilder Billionaires series by Julie Capulet. I loved the New York Billionaires series and was so excited to start this spin off and get to know the Wilders.
Dallas Wilder is twenty nine years old and is the oldest of the four Wilder brothers. Their parents were very well known and the brothers lost them early. Dallas has had a natural ability with numbers since he was a child. He has built an empire because of it and is wealthy beyond your wildest imagination. After what they experienced from his parents, he always relied on numbers as something he could count on. They made him feel stable. He was afraid that emotionally, he was broken. While he loved his brothers with all his heart, he’s never been able to care for a woman. He took care of his needs with quick hook ups but they never meant anything. But then, on a night in New Orleans after a business presentation, he walked into a bar, took one look at the bartender, and his life was forever changed.
Amelie Thibodeaux (I loved her name so much) is twenty two years old. She was also quite let down by her father. She lost her mother when she was born, and her father never really came back from it. Amelie was raised in the halls of the Hotel Thibodeaux which had been in their family for generations. But her father had let things go. And little did she know that he was also gambling, a lot! And losing! By the time he died, he was buried in debt. There was nothing Amelie could do. She filed for bankruptcy, and lost everything. Then begged for a job in the same hotel’s bar. She was never tempted to date, until THAT night, when Dallas came in.
Dallas knew from that first moment, she was his. But Amelie has deep trust issues. She’s been let down by everyone that was supposed to care for her. Why would this man be any different. But he worked hard to win her over.
“You’re mine. You were always meant to be mine."
From the outside, it looked like these two were complete opposites. But, inside, they were the same. Dallas convinces her to go to New York with him, to start fresh. He also knows that he will never let her go. They embark on a very fast relationship. Dallas knows that Amalie has trust issues and he is determined to show her in every way that he is safe. But of course, not everything goes according to plan. And Dallas has to work even harder to win the woman of his dreams.
This was so good. It’s a true fantasy love story. Dallas has more money than he could ever spend but he loves to spend it on his new obsession, his new love, Amelie. I devoured this book. I loved Dallas’s obsession with Amelie. I also loved some glimpses into the Maddox brother’s lives from the other series, seeing how wonderful they are doing. This was an amazing book that I couldn’t put down and I can’t wait for more. Don’t forget to download the extended epilogue at the end. You’ll love it.
A Magnetic, All-Consuming Billionaire Romance You Can’t Put Down.
I was completely hooked from the very first page and couldn’t put this down. I kept telling myself another page and suddenly I was completely consumed.
Dallas Wilder is everything you want in a billionaire romance hero…powerful, possessive and completely undone by the woman he falls for. And when he falls? He falls HARD. Watching his controlled, work obsessed world unravel because of Amelie was addictive, emotional and so satisfying.
This is a man who’s barely started dating and is already talking about children! One minute he’s running empires, the next he’s planning forever like it’s already guaranteed.🫠
The family teasing made it even better…Dallas is known as the serious, work-first one, so seeing him completely wrecked by love was pure entertainment.
Amelie was just as unforgettable. Strong, resilient and full of heart, she becomes everything Dallas never knew he needed. She’s his calm, his grounding force and the one person who breaks through every wall he’s built. Leaving NOLA isn’t easy for her, but between her ride-or-die best friend and Dallas himself, the pull toward something new felt impossible to ignore.
I also loved how much Dallas supports her painting. He doesn’t just love her…he sees her, believes in her and pushes her toward her dreams.
And honestly… this man does nothing halfway, especially not love. He goes from dating to full-blown forever energy in record time and it’s part of what makes him so addictive to read.
The chemistry between them is electric, the emotional connection is everything and the story balances romance, humor, obsession and heart perfectly.
A huge shoutout to Julie Capulet for creating a story that completely pulls you in and doesn’t let go.
If you love billionaire romance with a hero who falls first, falls hardest and loves with his whole heart…this is a must-read.
Dallas Wilder thought work was his one true love… but Amelie proved him completely wrong😉
Thank you to the author Julie Capulet for the ARC copy of her newest series about billionaire brothers who find the loves of their lives. This is Dallas and Amelie's story. First off,I love this author,I enjoy her style of writing which are almost like a comfort read for me after reading some "dark" mafia romances. This being said, this story was just too insta everything for me,very saccarine. Very "Cinderella " like story. Very little angst. There was too much internal dialogue, more telling than conversation between the main characters.I wanted more verbal communication between the 2. Enjoyable epilogue and bonus epilogue which the lovebirds are going to have baby #7! I am curious about the other brothers,so I will continue with the series. Thank you to the author again for kindly giving the ARC.
I am so grateful that I received this ARC!! It was sooooo great!!!! As with Julie’s style of writing there is always an element of the instalove trope which I LOVE!!!! Love a he falls first & hard MMC! Loved Amelie & Dallas 🥹 This book had soooo many of my favourite tropes ❤️ Can’t wait for the next brothers book🙌🏼
🌸I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review🌸
“ You can trust me with your whole heart Amelie Thibodeaux. Just like I’m trusting you with mine.”
- Billionaire Romance - Extremely Obsessed MMC - He Falls First - V Heroine - Spice Level: Hot 🔥 - No Cliffhanger - Accidental Pregnancy - Set in New Orleans x New York
This was my first Julie Capulet and I had a fun time reading it.
Billionaire, instalove/lust. Dallas knew he wanted Amelie from the first moment he saw her and he was going to do everything he could to get her and keep her. I love a MMC who is obsessed with the FMC and this book delivered on it.
After everything Amelie has been through, she more than deserves a man like Dallas who makes her the centre of his whole universe.
I loved both of these characters and their journey to their HEA.
Dallas Wilder is a numbers guy. He’s spent his life forecasting the market and building an empire, but hasn’t left time for a personal life. He’s OK with that because he never felt a spark for anyone.
This all changes when he walks into a bar in New Orleans and sees Amelie.
Amelie has had it rough. She was raised by her dad after her mom died when she was a baby. She grows up in the family’s hotel until her dad dies and she’s suddenly bankrupt. She continues to work in what was once her legacy.
She is wept off of her feet by Dallas and not sure if she should trust it or not.
Loved watching g these two fall in love. The bonus epilogue was perfect and loved looking five years into the future.
A bond we can’t help but share, and one that disconcertingly feels like the broken pieces of our souls, against all odds, fit together.
Billionaire Falls Firstby Julie Capulet is the first release from her newest seriesWilder Billionaires. This story has following oldest Wilder brother Dallas ‘Dally’ Wilder and Amelie ‘Ami/Boo’ Esmé Sabine Anaïs Thibodeaux told through their dual POVs in a He Falls First, Accidental Pregnancy, Billionaire Romance.
Dallas and Amelie’s story made for quite a fast paced and fast moving read. Then again it was to be expected, considering from the moment they laid eyes on each other it was insta attraction, lust and connection, though in Dallas’s case it was also insta love and romance. And I was all here for it.
From seeing Dallas and Amelie fall headfirst for one another, to then seeing how quickly, faster and harder they continued to fall in each and every page turn author Julie showcased to us, it had me thoroughly enjoying with following along Dallas and Amelie’s whirlwind emotional romance journey. Then again it was easy to see why, since their instant chemistry never stopped burning bigger and brighter in every moment shared. Seeing as they were able to get along so easily, with their communication flowing so effortlessly, leaving no moment to any stops, pauses or awkwardness. As well as their unexpected bond in regards to similar details in their similar past they shared in common, that brought them even more closer than ever. You couldn’t help be hook, line and sinker.
Even though it was a fast moving story when it came to their whirlwind romance, one thing author Julie managed to play out and build upon was the development of their characters. Yes, Dallas and Amelie may have moved fast in their relationship, but that was definitely not the case when it came to seeing the development journey of their characters. We were able to not only see their walls come down, while their layers were peeled back. But also how they came together to help one another be who they really wanted to be through evolving, learning and growing, something the two always made known through inner monologue in their POV chapters. Considering their journey wasn't all smooth sailing, having gone through some highs and lows within the ups and downs, going back and forth. Particularly in Amelie's case, from the inner battles she was fighting. Something author Julie also made known and showcased too. Ultimately giving their journey a sense of realism and authentic-ness, knowing that just having romance was not enough and that there was more to figure out.
Billionaire Falls Firstby Julie Capulet made it so easy to adore and enjoy reading. Whether it be the characters of Dallas and Amelie, especially Dallas given the swoony-ness of him, especially with his obsession of Amelie, as well as his actions in all that he did for Amelie. To their whirlwind romance journey, on top of the many enjoyable tropes, especially one particularly one that was my absolute favourite. It's what resulted in giving you so much to delight in that you couldn’t help but eat up all the words. Which is why I not only had a great time reading this book, but now has me looking forward to reading the rest of the brothers books. Can’t wait to see how and where their stories lead, especially after getting their introductions in this book as secondary characters.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
ARC kindly provided for the author in exchange for an honest review
This book marked my return to Julie Capulet's stories, and it left me with very mixed feelings: despite being entirely in the author's style (one I enjoyed reading), there were some situations with the male character that didn't quite convince me. However, I'm very excited about this new series because the Wilder brothers have a very interesting backstory, and I'm eager to read about them all.
I loved Amelie! She's a girl with a very complicated life, who has no hope of fulfilling her dreams and struggles to survive. I really liked her personality, especially the way she behaves with Dallas at the beginning and that moment of misunderstanding and how she reacted. I enjoyed reading her friendship with Sadie and how she always supports her unconditionally, I appreciated that Julie gave me moments of Amelie with the girls from her previous series too.
Dallas was complicated for me: I think his family history is very interesting, and although his personality is something I expect from this author's MMCs, I think Dallas was too much for me, he was very possessive and obsessed with having Amelie by his side to a point that I can't even describe as romantic, but I also have to say that I didn't hate him completely because I liked that he was interested in Amelie's dreams, in helping her fulfill them, and that he was willing to be vulnerable with her. I also LOVED reading how important his siblings are to him, how different they are from each other, and how they are always willing to support him, as is Todd.
Amelie me encantó!
Well the queen of insta love romance has done it again with another billionaire that’s falls for a sweet innocent down on her luck young woman.
New Orleans is the beginning setting for our new romance.
“The famous heartbreaker Dallas Wilder actually got turned down? He’s not about to take no for an answer so he wines and dines her. He is just too hard to say no to.
Amelie Thibodeaux. You’re the one I want. Yes, it’s too fast. Yes, it’s crazy that we’re taking this at light speed. But I’m sure.
This is one whirlwind romance between a diehard workaholic and an overwhelmed southern belle who has lost everything.
I’m not alone anymore.
“You can trust me with your whole heart, Amelie Thibodeaux. Just like I’m trusting you with mine.”
What a great start to a new series! We first meet Amelie, a bartender from New Orleans who has had nothing but a run of bad luck. She basically has nothing to her name but she tries so hard. Then you have Dallas, a billionaire who is a workaholic (literally the man takes zero days off) and has never had a serious relationship.
One day, Dallas walks into a bar and see Amelie and is immediately enthralled by her. He convinces her to have a drink take a day with him and there begins their whirlwind romance.
What I love about this authors book? I love the insta love of he falls first and harder. Overall I enjoyed this book.
2.5 stars but i feel really bad actually giving it 2 stars (hence the lack of official rating). i think this could TOTALLY be someone’s type of book, and despite having all of my favorite tropes & types of characters, it really just… wasn’t my vibe.
i don’t mind an instalove at all (and make no mistake, this is an instalove to its core), but i really did not enjoy the way this one was done. it just didn’t feel… fun? romantic? hot? idk.
the sex scenes were also kinda lackluster but then again sometimes i read pure erotica so maybe my standards are too high. they just weren’t detailed enough for me, and if they were, they were focused on the wrong details. however at the very least i do LOVE to know that the FMC is getting her enjoyment and pleasure (aka she came many times and im #proud).
like the problem wasn’t the amount of sex scenes (for which, there were a more than adequate amount), but rather the writing of them. i wouldve preferred half as many sex scenes if it promised better details and attention for the written ones. quality over quantity, and while (once again) i often engage in pure smut, im somehow saying that this book definitely had too much quantity — only because it interfered with the quality.
also, the MMC… hm. there’s so many things i can say. before i say my major negative, i do want to say that he really does love and care for the FMC. and it was very cute to see. i LOVE an OTT/JP MMC (woah lots of acronyms), but Dallas was written in a kind of too animated/wrongly emotional way? he read as insecure in the worst ways possible a few times and it hit a little too close to reality (in the sense of men in real life being jealous as a result of insecurity). it’s weird because Dallas was definitely NOT insecure, and was in fact just super OTT/possessive, but the way he was written just betrayed that. i love my characters obsessed, but he wasn’t obsessed in a fun, sexy, omg way at times. there were too many instances of him just being… embarrassing? for me to read about.
it’s worth noting, however, that all of my problems with the MMC did in fact occur within the last 20% of the book. so i had a great time reading it (despite my disappointment in the writing of the sex scenes) until then. however the last 20% really did just turn me off of the book so badly that the 3.5 star read quickly became a 2 (i said 2.5 to be nice).
edit: ALSO OH GOD THE PET NAMES WERE THE WORST. i actually ended up ignoring the pet names completely. nevermind the fact that they weren’t unique to the character saying them (both pet names were nicknames given to the character by family members), they were also just… nope. the MMC calls her “angel girl” a few times which i would’ve LOVED in comparison to the nickname he calls her throughout the book. angel girl is so cute. so unique. so what should’ve been his nickname for her.
If you enjoy a billionaire instant chemistry romance then this is a story for you! Dallas literally cannot stop thinking about Amelie from the moment he lays eyes on her. The way he is obsesses over her is swoon worthy because even though he’a obsessed he knows he still has to give her some space to process EVERYTHING…and honestly, Amelie’s trust in men has been shattered, but Dallas is definitely making her feel all sorts of aches! 😅
There were times where I felt there was soo much of Amelie ‘in her head’ and over thinking… and while i appreciate the back story and context, I prefer a lot of this told through other lenses maybe? Thats really the only thing that bothered me. Otherwise this was a fun and quick read! Cant wait to see what you all think!

Dallas and Amelie come from different worlds - he’s a billionaire from New York City and she’s a poor girl from New Orleans, working in a once elegant and now desperately in-need-of-some-love hotel that her family owned until her father lost it to his gambling addiction. My heart really goes out to these lonely characters who both grew up with distant, neglectful parents. Dallas and Amelie’s story is funny, sweet, and heartwarming. It's a wonderful story about the healing power of love.

This was an enjoyable book to read and I liked the characters alot. It is a modern day Cinderella story between Amelie and Dallas. The book was well written and kept me engaged the entire time. Dallas the workaholic falls so fast for Emelie and their chemistry from the start is off the charts. It was nice to follow along as they quickly fell in love and helped each other become better versions of themselves. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book for my honest opinion.
Amelie has had to sell her families hotel. Her mother died when she was young, and her father was never really there for her. Once he died she found out he gambled away everything she ever had. She really has lost faith and trust in people except for her best friend. Dallas Is a billionaire who comes from a famous family. His mother had major issues that she pushed onto the entire family. When she dies his father retreated into himself and is gone now too. His brothers are the only constant he has in his life, and he loves them fiercely. Dallas walks into a hotel bar and sees Amelie and it's all over for him. He's never felt this way before, not even close. He goes all in to win over Amelie and show her they are forever. She finds it hard to trust him after everything she has been through, waiting for the other shoe to drop. Their road to HEA isn't easy but so worth it in the end.

I really enjoyed this book, I could not put it down once I got my ARC. The book was full of so many of my favorite tropes like he falls first and harder, billionaire MMC, and accidental pregnancy. Great for lovers of the insta-love trope.
Dallas is gorgeous, wealthy, and completely bored with life. He has more money than he could ever spend, has lost interest in women, and realizes he hasn’t taken a real vacation in his entire adult life. Burnout has definitely set in. Then he meets Amelie, and everything changes in an instant. Amelie comes from a long line of hoteliers. Her father, grandfather, and great-grandfather owned one of the oldest and most prestigious hotels in New Orleans—until her father lost it all. Reading about everything Amelie had to do and how hard she worked just to survive was exhausting at times, but it also made her incredibly easy to root for. The moment Dallas walks into her bar and orders a drink, their lives begin to change. What I loved most was Dallas’s transformation. He starts out as a cool, confident, slightly arrogant billionaire who always seems in control. Then Amelie enters the picture and he becomes completely obsessed. His internal thoughts and reactions were absolutely hilarious. Watching this level-headed man spiral into lovestruck chaos had me laughing out loud more than once. This was a fun, entertaining romance with great chemistry, plenty of humor, and a hero whose downfall into love was a joy to watch.
Simply put this story can be summed up as: a girl is destitute after a father dies, leaving her so much debt she must sell the family hotel. A handsome, seriously loaded boy walks into her bar, takes one look, and falls stupidly in love and whisks her away from a life of poverty. Once you get over the ridiculously unrealistic storyline and accept it for what it is, then sit back and enjoy a book that is easy to read, has loads of spicy scenes but not much in the way of storyline, as the fantasy of a luxurious life weaves its charm over you. It's a bit of a red flag that he is so obsessively protective that he cages her and won't let her venture out without him. We do get a great introduction to the brothers, who I assume the rest of the series is based on; and their history, their upbringing, and the relationship and tragedy that was their parents. No one struggles but hey money and privilege can fix anything, right? It's not all that deep. There's one brief scene of drama but that's it. Sit back for a romantic fantasy, but an enjoyable ride.
DALLAS DEFINITELY HAS HIS HEART IN THE RIGHT PLACE!
Amelie has had a tough life, losing her family's hotel in downtown New Orleans. Everyone has let her down, and she has had to fend for herself. She is working in her hotel as a bartender and housekeeper and living in a broom closet. She doesn't trust anyone but Sadie, her best friend. When Dallas walks into her bar for a drink, he takes one look at the tiny gorgeous bartender, and he knows she is THE ONE! He had thought he would be alone all his life because he had never felt anything for any woman more than a passing interest.
Dallas pursues Amelie with all the love and emotion and puts his billions of dollars behind it. It can be a bit much for someone like Amalie who has barely squeaked by all her life. Dallas makes mistakes but his heart is definitely in the right place. The steam these two make in this book will burn your kindle! I love these men who fall first and hard and have to convince the girl that they are sincere for the first time in their lives! So Romantic!
Cupid’s Unexpected Strike of Target - Dallas knew from the moment he laid eyes on Amelie, that she was his forever, so he was willing to do everything possible to make his dreams come true. Even though Amelie accepted everything Dallas was doing for her, she was still apprehensive about everything he was saying about wanting a future with her. However, Amelie started trusting Dallas the more time they spent together and accepted the changes in the life.
Unfortunately, not long after Amelie and Dallas settled into their new life, a misunderstanding and a dangerous situation neatly cost them their happy life, but he was able to clear up the misunderstanding and urgently get her the medical care she needed. As luck would have, Amelie and Dallas not only received news there would be no lasting effect from the incident, but they also received life changing news, that made them really happy.
This captivating romance story was intense, interesting and panty melting HOT, so in my humble opinion you won’t go wrong with this story where the male character falls head over heels with the female character at first sight and would turn the world upside down just to build a future with her. You will definitely enjoy reading this just as much as I did.
I received an advanced review copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I fell head-over-heels into this modern-day fairytale-like romance, with its Cinderella vibes and sweet Amelie Thibodeaux pulling me in it right from the start. Three generations of her family passed down their beautiful, historic New Orleans hotel, but after her father died, she found out there was nothing left for her but debt. Now someone else owns it and she's working at the bar, until the hottest guy she ever saw walks into her life.
Billionaire Falls First is the name of this book, but that's exactly what happens to Dallas Wilder, hiding under a baseball cap, trying to blend into the background (news flash, he never would!). Along with their famous parents, he and his brothers have been 'front page news' their entire lives. Dallas is tired of the spotlight and bored with every woman he meets. He was a pro at quick exits...until now.
He's powerful, a little dark and dangerous and used to getting what he wants. So, when he spots the most beautiful woman he's ever seen, the tables are quickly turned- Amelie is not impressed at all. If she only knew who he was!
I love when the hero loses his mind when he notices 'the one' from across the room! So much fun watching it all play out, but that's the Julie Capulet effect. The way his obsession with this newly discovered, sassy southern soulmate is described? OMG, I was laughing like a fool and swooning left and right, the whole way through this book.
Amelie's isn't sure what to think about Dallas. He's intense, cocky and coming on strong, but she's fierce, opinionated and knows how to stands up for herself. She lost faith in men a long time ago and this guy isn't going to change that. Famous last words, Amelie!
Dallas is a sweet, dirty-talking hottie on a mission and laser-focused on his dreamy angel. Watch out, girl- your sexy fairy godfather is ready to make all your dreams come true and that'sjust the tip of his crazy iceberg!
Favorite moments, and there were many- the extra, extra-long 'date', being whisked away to get a taste of his big-city life, meeting Dallas's brothers and seeing old friends (yum!), giving her time and space to find herself again and making sure she felt like she belonged in his world. Bonding over stormy childhood trauma and emotional scars. Can't forget the sexy banter and hot, steamy alone time. Whew! Who wouldn't love that.
Amelie: "What are we doing?"
Dallas: "We're falling in love, that's what we're doing."
Me: Someone's getting swept off her feet...if she wasn't already, and it's not just Amelie!
When you know, you know!
"...feels like the broken pieces of our souls, against all odds, fit together."
Something I always want to know before the book comes to the end- what's their life like a few years into the future. Julie never disappoints- her epilogues are epic and awesome. Everything you hope to find? It's there, including the friends and family that came along with them on their ride. She nailed Amelie and Dallas's happily ever after to perfection, just like I knew she would.
* I was given an early copy of this book and this is my honest and freely given review of Billionaire Falls First.
Amelie Thibodeaux almost inherited her family’s historic Bourbon Street hotel, the only home she’s ever known. Instead, it turns out that her beloved late father secretly gambled away three generations of hard work. Leaving Amelie with nothing but debt, heartbreak, and no choice but to beg the ruthless new billionaire owner of her hotel for a bartending job.
Not exactly the future she dreamed of, but Amelie is determined to look on the bright side.
That’s when Dallas Wilder walks into her bar.
He’s tall, mysterious, magnetic — and not to be trusted. Amelie knows better than most that trusting people never pans out. Which makes resisting him easy. Especially when she learns he's a billionaire investor, a Wall Street power player, and the kind of man who gets whatever he wants whenever he wants it.
What he wants is Amelie.
He’s relentless. He’s dangerously beautiful. And his pursuit of her knows no limits. As Dallas lures her from the sultry streets of New Orleans to the glittering penthouses of Manhattan, Amelie finds herself falling — hard, fast, and with no safety net — for the most intoxicating man she’s ever met.
Until she finds out a secret she was never meant to discover.
Dallas Wilder is on his knees. Amelie is the one person he can’t buy, can’t control, and refuses to live without. He’ll burn his entire empire to the ground to keep her.
When Amelie runs, the question isn’t whether he’ll come after her. It’s whether the most guarded heart in New Orleans can trust the most powerful billionaire in New York.
Secrets tore them apart. Will true love — and a very accidental pregnancy — be enough to keep them together?
This contemporary Wilder billionaire romance is page-turning with exceptional world-building in New Orleans/New York, and characters who are an alpha billionaire male exuding power/wealth/possessiveness/obsession, and a female heroine who is resilient, and who are both captivating and realistic. Their journey is enthralling with the billionaire falls first, mature, explicit romance that is consumed by steamy, sizzling passion, lust, desire, and spice with all the feelings that will leave readers breathless and begging for more, a seductive world of luxury and obsession, a very accidental pregnancy, secrets that tear Amelie, the most guarded heart in New Orleans, and Dallas Wilder, the most powerful billionaire in New York, apart, chaos/drama, heartfelt emotions/emotional depth, action, adventure, and more. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author who knows how to captivate her readers' hearts and attention with the billionaire-falls-first premise, and a contemporary Wilder billionaire romance that is page-turning, with exceptional world-building sure to transport readers into a world that is immensely lustful, wealthy, intriguing, and unforgettable.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Hang on get comfortable with your bottle wine and favorite snacks because if you have read Julie’s book than you know you won’t be putting this down until the last page has been turned. Dallas sexy as all get out billionaire powerful when it counts, possessive when it comes to those that belongs to him especially to the women that belongs to him and a work alcoholic until the beautiful, feisty women who gives him a fight. Amelie has had one dream take over her families hotel after her mother died when she was younger her father checked out for the better part after he past away she found out that he gambled away everything, and that hurt more than anything she no longer has faith or trust in people she expects them to take, to mistreat, all except her best friend. The moment the man who owns her families hotel now walks in she has to play nice but he is overly protective but for some reason he can’t really reach her because her heart is closed off waiting on the other she to fall but it isn’t that she can’t like him because he is easy to like but with everything she has been through, everything that was taken from her but will he be able to reach her, will she explain why, will he allow her to keep her families hotel, will she take a leap of faith trusting once more and do they get their chance at happiness
Billionaire Falls First from Author Julie Capulet was a good read that encompassed everything that typifies her specialty in low-angst, sweet plots with on-fire 🔥🔥🔥 intimate scenes. It's the first book in her new series of brothers who have grown up with a background full of tragedy and drama, all played out very publicly, and in Dallas Wilder's case, has left him very disillusioned.
He was an interesting character, beyond wealthy and by his own admission, women fawned all over him and crowed about his prowess on social media. Yet all this left him feeling bored and emotionally dead leading him to believe he was incapable of falling in love even though what he desired most was a connection;
“I’ve lived my life underwhelmed by everyone and everything ... I can buy anything I want. But the one thing I want can’t be bought. An actual desire to be with someone.”
The saw Amelie Thibodeaux. No gentle cupid's arrows for Dallas, the insta-love hit him like a well-aimed brick 🧱!! Ms Capulet described that moment in painstaking detail, that moment where he espied the woman he'd been looking for, the one whom he didn't believe could even exist, and his world shifted on it's axis;
“I’ve found her. I’ve found the girl I ‘really’[sic] want. The one I never believed existed. She exists. ... Colors—especially hers—are freakishly bright. The music sounds sweeter. In this moment, I am completely devoid of either disappointment or boredom, maybe for the first time in my goddam(n) life."
I loved that he saw how exhausted and tired she was, and wanted to fix that for her from the start. He knew how badly her father had let her down (he checked out google, because that's what I'd do!) and that she'd suffered ‘heartbreak, betrayal and destitution' . I loved that he'd stepped straight into rescue and protection mode before he knew she’d be his, even after she'd unceremoniously turned down his offer of a drink. I found I was admiring of her stoicism already!!!!
I thought in her sassy independence she would balk harder when he'd moved in and taken over her job for the day, arranging alternative employment to the hotel in her stead, but apparently not. There was a hint of steel there, but I'm guessing when you're confronted with an alpha pro-active man in fix-it mode, you’re beyond tired, and are suddenly in a situation with a fairy-tale feel to it where the Billionaire was a heavily tattooed prince AND the fairy godmother, the temptation would hit hard and make you take that step into the formerly impossible. Because Dallas Wilder was nothing else if not efficient!!!
Plus, he moved forward with plans for their future together forever with the stealth and secrecy of a military exercise so as not to scare her off before they were set in stone.
Amelie had indeed suffered everything Dallas knew about her yet she maintained a hard-working loyalty to her former family hotel. I loved her integrity even as she was swept off her feet, and her acknowledgment to herself that she would indeed accept the days off and the good times he offered, all while keeping her reality checked that he was a billionaire and likely to swan off into the ether in spite of his declarations of love and loyalty. She'd already had her heart broken by her father's lackadaisical attitude to the hotel his family had built and her financial security, so trust wasn't something she even put any faith in. The man was stunningly gorgeous and offering her all manner of amazing first experiences so of course she was going to run with it – especially as she was actively encouraged by her best friend!
I also loved that when he found out he was to be her first ‘everything'. For her, once receivership hit, all of her belongings no matter how personal, including, and I found this to be particularly heart-breaking, the paintings she created since a child, had gone for sale. Since then, she’d never had time to date, or better yet, to kiss anyone💔
BILLIONAIRE FALLS FIRST is an easy to read story that is heavily laden with romance, and will appeal to all, especially those who love the Insta-Love, Billionaire, He-Falls-First, Virgin-Heroine along with a Surprise-Pregnancy as an added bonus. It's the type of go-to book that I pick up when I need to reset my soul in between the heavier darker ones. 4-Billionaire-Inst-Love Stars 🖤⭐️✦
Every time I read a Julie Capulet book, I know the story will definitely be something out of my wildest fantasies and this one just made it true once more.
It's Official.....My New Freaking Husband is....DALLAS WILDER....Ahhh...that man didn't just sweep Amelie off her feet, I was too because I lived this story as much as Amelie did.
Him Falling at first sight and falling hard is unapologetically my one of the top favourite ones to read and the way Julie does it, always makes me giggle and smile nonstop.
We have Amelie working as a bartender in her own hotel which was sold due to her family debts and she lives sneakily in a storage room and loves painting but can't have that as her career because she's barely making ends meet.
Walks in this hot and handsome stranger, who is smitten at first sight.
The man whose life is dominated by work and spreadsheets and nothing else, is suddenly thinking of making this girl smile and having her in his life no matter what.
Their first date was oh so dreamy and the way Dallas is with Amelie is definitely stuff made of fantasies.
Also these two were crazy when it comes to hot times...I mean...oh my ... Dallas definitely knows how to make a girl swoon and rock her world.🥵🌶️🔥
I have to say though, there were times when I did find Dallas a bit controlling but then Amelie had to give him competition by balancing it with her trust issues and her misunderstanding things and those scenes definitely had me annoyed with them.
Dallas Wilder is my dream husband and I love the way he loves, the way he cares, the way his world revolves around nothing else but Amelie because he's that much of a goner for her.
If you want a ride that will make you swoon, melt you with its sizzling heat and make you fall in love, hard....this one is a must read. Absolutely loved loved this one.
