I love Lexy and the ladies, so I was so excited for this story! And it didn't disappoint. The writing style has an ease to it that made me feel invested in the story right away, it grabbed my attention from the start. I had to force myself to read slowly, it was that good, the writing, the setting, the characters, the mystery, the build-up of suspense. A sense of caring and that's why I love cozies so much in general and Lexy's series in particular. The Ladies Detective Agency is on the case and they are just so funny, but make no mistake, they're a force to be reckoned with! Nans, she was impressive! Such a great story, perfect for when you want a quick read!
I received a complimentary advance reader’s copy of this book, but was not required to leave a review. This is my voluntarily given, honest opinion.
I enjoy the ladies that support Lexy. Lexy is accosted in her bakery at 4 AM. The thugs are not gentle and take everything she was using to test out her competition bake, to include the only copy of the recipe.
Nans and the ladies are on the case. These thugs work for some shady people. I found Ruth and Nans to be more forceful than in the past. They both know how to temper the situation so they don’t get hurt.
I appreciated their willingness to keep Jack in the loop along with Ruth’s uncle.
I can’t wait for my next visit with these gutsy women.
I was given an advanced readers copy. These are my opinions. I am not required to leave a positive review.
Flour Felony by Leighann Dobbs is a fantastic short story in the Lexy Baker Cozy Mystery series.
I absolutely loved this story! Nan, Lexy and the ladies are such a joy to read.
The characters are so well written, funny and smart.
Lexy has a break in at the bakery and the Ladies Detective Agency is working the case. I cannot stop laughing with them. They are creative in their sleuthing!!!
Flour Felony is part of the Lexy Baker series. Lexy ordered a specialty Flour for a contest she was entering. When the order arrives, lexy finds more than expected. The extra came with people willing to break in to recover what was sent to the wrong place. While I'm not normally a fan of short stories, this one was enjoyable.
I was so excited to see this series come out! And it didn’t disappoint. This 2nd book was such fun. I loved reading about their antics. This is a short story. It’s easy to read and very entertaining. I loved how their different personalities complement each other and how their minds work things out. Looking forward to the next one.
This short story has it all: mystery, chaotical assault to the baker, a receipt that came through the genealogical history of the baker, and a number of she-detectives that have you laughing all along. Thank you Ms. Dobbs.
I have loved these characters and stories so much I read the series twice. I'm hoping there are many more of these books. The characters are so easy to love!
