I can not get enough Blake Black; I absolutely loved this book. The storyline is phenomenal, the spice was excellent and the characters are so beautifully broken. Blake has this amazing way of bringing emotion to her stories and it keeps me coming back for more and more and more.
I adore Novalee. And her men. And the men who may or may not be her men. These characters are absolutely unaliving me with the angst and heartbreak and just all the feelings. And then the spice on top of it? Absolute fire. This is some of the best somno I've ever read and I can't wait to see what happens when more guys join in on the fun.
I'm really interested to see how the relationships pan out. I have some theories about a strictly gay guy with a bi guy or two, who are part of Nova's pack of what may end up being 5 guys... But we'll see what happens...
GATHERED SPARKLE 4.5 ⭐ 3.5 🌶️
I absolutely adored this duet. The magic, the relationships, the overarching story, just all of it. These characters were hot broken messes, but together they found the peace they deserved.
That twist blew my mind. I thought it may be possible at one point, but I gave up on it ages ago... Then all of a sudden BAM and it was so perfect and felt so right.
Victoria was a dang menace and I enjoyed her takedown.
I also adored Levi and Ezra and their little moments despite being "side" characters. I could absolutely use a novella of their story.
As always, I can't wait to see what Blake brings us next. I know I'm always getting into a beautiful, emotional mess and it's one of my favorite places to be.
Glimmer and Gleam. The name says so much about the series already. It’s a medium burn why choose. But some of the relationships are slooooow burn. And some are much faster. And some haven’t even caught fire yet. Which is one of many things I love about why choose. And this book doesn’t disappoint.
An important part of all her series is the side characters that you fall in love with along with the MCs. They don’t even feel like side characters. They feel like family.
As with many why choose books there are lots of relationship aspects and hard topics to cover at times. And this book doesn’t shy away from them raw and the real. It’s very mentally and emotionally heavy. In the best way possible.
I loved all the characters. The growth, the heartache, the lifestyle. It’s such a great story. And I know we’ve only just gotten started.
The plotline keeps things moving in the story. While also allowing the relationships to shine through. And grow.
I did feel the end was a tiny bit chaotic but it fit the vibe. I just had to slow down and focus on the story so I didn’t get lost in the Vegas Magic show. And then boom. It was over. But… the epilogue healed all wounds. I wanted more. Like always!
I received this as an ARC for free. I am voluntarily leaving this review.
I started and then couldn’t stop reading, everything else I’d planned went straight out of the window. I love this author, she writes characters and feelings so well, the sharp edges to Nova, with her coping mechanisms for her grief and loss. She effortlessly entwines Nova with Sy, Koen and Levi and has her share more with Alaric over text, than she can do in person. I’m obsessed with these characters, plus there’s Nicholas, who pulls a more real version of Nova from herself than really any of the others have managed to. I spent a lot of this book trying not to cry, some were happy tears (Alaric), while some were sad, (the hurt Nico felt) and others were triumphant, (the magic show). But most of them were at the end, I just wanted to stay here forever. The emotional journey that Novalee goes on is absolutely beautiful and I fell in love with all her men. Wonderful! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Have you read Scattered Glitter and Gathered Sparkle by Blake Black? If you have or have not it is now all in an omnibus plus a bonus scene titled - Glimmer & Gleam. ✨✨✨✨✨ The story is set in Las Vegas, the city of sin and magic. The female protagonist, Nova, is a formidable and resilient survivor who endured a profoundly tragic childhood. She is a very talented pickpocket and picks the wrong pocket and was caught by the Magic Twins and introduced to rest of the men. This heartwarming duet is filled with tragic pasts, secrets, and overcoming fears. It also features new beginnings and the special moments that were tender but oh so hot and steamy. I thoroughly enjoyed delving deeper into the character histories and witnessing their efforts to become a family. This captivating story kept me hostage until the last page.
If you loved the Now You See Me movies, you NEED to read this series!
I absolutely loved this book. Every main character in this book has some kind of past that connects them together - even if it’s indirectly (such as connecting through past trauma) and each character has some healing to do. You can’t help but be sucked right in and experience every emotion along with the characters.
I love all the Vegas-magic themes throughout and I love that some of the tricks are explained so you can feel “in the know”. The magic tricks are so interesting and well written! The descriptions are so well done that you can really picture being right there on the Vegas strip with them!
If you love Vegas magic, awful people getting their dirty laundry aired, healing and found family, definitely give this series a chance - you won’t be disappointed!
Gah this duet is so magical! Still insanely magical even as a reread!! I love Novalee and the guys so much! Sylus 😍 Koen 🥰 Nicholas 🖤 and Alaric (Ace) 🫠
Even as a reread I don’t know how to review this duet without spoiling it because Blake has given us SO much in this duet. So much emotion, so much steam, so much magic and of course an amazing HEA!!
There’s so much hurt for all the characters and they all deal with it in their own way but when they come together and they each realize they can lean on each other it’s really amazing! I teared up a bit while reading because my heart broke for Nova and Ace but then it healed back up!
Blake really does write amazing and steamy and emotional romances if you haven’t started reading them yet what are you waiting for?!
This is my favorite Blake Black duet. Don't get me wrong they are all amazing but this story is just do fun to read with all the feels. If I had one criticism is would be the nicknames they were kind of cringe. But this is my 4th time reading this story and I still love it.
