How to Be Normal: A Guide for the Perplexed

Rate this book
Normal people are extremely unusual. Think of all the people you know and ask yourself how many are normal. None of them! In fact you're probably the most normal of the lot and, let's face it, even you're not that normal. All normal people believe they are a little bit different, a little bit unique and a little bit special. On the other hand no one wants to be abnormal, so it's a fine line to tread. Happily, this brilliantly funny book shows everyone exactly how to be uniquely normally normal. Is it normal ... hold the banister with both hands? ... find the green man at crossings mildly attractive? ... drive a shopping trolley on the right? ... be afraid of aggressive hand dryers? ... wonder what coconut milk is actually for? Find out the answers to these and a million other perfectly normal questions in another beautifully funny, surprisingly wise and consistently heart-warming book from the best-selling Guy Browning.

Some essays are repeats but most are new and funny. For people who like dry humour and enjoyed the previous two books - Don't Hit a Jellyfish with a Spade and Don't Push when it says Pull

oh jadi gini ya tulisan 'dry humour' tuh.
I quite enjoyed his writings. Kayaknya ini kumpulan tulisan kolumnis gitu kali ya.
sebenarnya baca buku ini di akhir Oktober dan berniat untuk dibaca cepat gitu. tapi ga bisa. soalnya kumpulan tulisannya ini bukan tipe yang untuk dibaca cepat, aku enjoy bacanya but I need to stop karena baca buku ini gabisa terburu-buru (meski aku pengen buru-buru)
I'm halfway through, and I'll pick it up later.

Did not finish.
It started out really well, i was genuinely enjoying it, thought it was really funny and clever. But it was too long. Waay too long. Had it been separated in 2 books, it would've been 5 stars, but the way it is it just was too tiring. When i accidentally lost the page i was on, i didn't want to bother finding it, and that's when i decided to put the whole thing away.
Maybe I'll go back to it someday but definitely not in the near future.

A nice book teaching you little things about life without taking it too seriously. I had quite a few good laughs going through this book at a leisurely pace, and I did take away a few inspiring life lessons. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to indulge in some humorous light reading.

This was a fun little book full of odd observations on life. With headings like "How to whinge" or "How to Procrastinate" there's something for every occasion!

Not really laugh-out-loud but clever enough to recommend to your friends.

A collection of amusing musings but not much of a guide.

Another excellent advice book from Guy Browning

This book was easy, and extremely enjoyable, to read. Guy Browning shares a lot of wise words about life and living, and throws in lots of funny thoughts and ideas many of which I shared with my friends and family as I read. Great book!

Enjoyed the last section of the book the most... many insightful points amidst the humor. I especially liked the sections on anger and how to be content and go with the flow.
