5.1 The Twilight Enclave - Oh yes! This was brilliant! This is what the Time War should be about: shifting alliances, gray morality, questionable decisions, and Machiavellian motivations. The Rani has an offer than The Doctor quite simply cannot refuse. Except, he’s NOT The Doctor anymore. Will The Warrior and The Rani become allies? Oh, this is delicious! (5/5)
5.2 The Frozen Wastes - The interplay between The Rani and The Warrior is absolutely brilliant. One of the most riveting conversations from Big Finish. Brilliant. How is this going to play out and resolve? Kept up late at night on the edge of my seat. (5/5)
5.3 The Burning Lands - The previous two episodes were SO GOOD that it was almost a certainty that the conclusion wouldn’t be able to live up to the set up and the development. And, to be honest, it does not quite do so, but it is still an absolute hit. Maybe not quite as brilliant, but still well performed and well written and structured. Excellent. And it is good enough, that I’ll give the whole set the little extra boost to reach the full 5-stars. (4/5)
This release also includes a set of bonus interviews with cast and crew, and an isolated music suite.

The War Doctor Rises has been an absolute triumph so far for Big Finish Productions, so when they revealed they had the rights for The Rani again, it makes so much sense to have a story with her and The War Doctor. I've been incredibly excited for this story, so fingers crossed it doesn't let me down.
The Rani needs The Doctor's help, except he isn't The Doctor anymore, he's a warrior. The Rani has an experiment that could very well end the Time War and rid the universe of The Daleks for good, but will The Doctor agree to it, or will he allow the war to rage on? Can they be friends again or will they forever be enemies?
Rochana Patel has written an incredible 3-hour epic story that explains what The Rani was up to in the Time War, why regeneration in New Who is always the same and the nonsense that goes on in The Reality War. Despite all these explanations though Rochana still manages to put together a very exciting story where The Doctor and The Rani's relationship and history is very much the major aspect of the pilot. I loved every second of this, it's epic, dark, funny, and manages its references really well that actually helps to drive the story forth.
Overall: One of the best Big Finish audios I've listened to in forever, holy crap! 10/10

Another excellent release in the War Doctor Rises range. While Jonathon Carley still brings a stellar performance as the War Doctor, the standout here is Siobhán Redmond's version of the Rani. I couldn't get enough of her. This boxset is essentially a three-part character study on these specific versions of the Doctor and the Rani, and their relationship.
Compared to other War Doctor sets, I found this release to be more introspective and not as action-packed, but that actually works in its favor. It's a weighty story with more emotional layers than I was expecting. Definitely a release that you listen to again and catch elements you missed the first time.
Other highlights include Nicholas Briggs as the Daleks; he never disappoints. And I liked how this boxset was, in a way, one long regeneration special. The writer, Rochana Patel, even provides an in-universe explanation for why the regeneration process has changed over time from Classic Who to NuWho. Loved this one; highly recommend.

I would give this 3 1/2 stars, and might rise in a re-listen, but right now, I am giving it 3 because it is good, but felt like there was something missing, something which it needed to make it great.

Enjoyed this alot. I really like this range and this story was a great addition. I think it helped flesh the Rani out more than any other DW media. I also liked how it tried to explain some continuity errors between episodes, I.e., the dalek claw thing, or the daleks susceptibility to the cold.
Like The Monk, I really hope one day we get a chronology of the incarnations of The Rani.
