I wouldn’t say these were all comedies, however each story was enjoyable. I tend to shy away from anthologies as I am looking for a full story and quickies sometimes are just a brief interlude, but this had a few that led me to look at some new authors I want to try.
I was provided an ARC of Fall Fast by Zoe York in exchange for an honest review. I will admit that right up front I was pretty much set against liking this one. I've read a number of books where the two main characters have a one night stand and I generally am not a fan. I'm not a prude but rather find that the scenarios aren't well thought out and presented in a way that holds my interest. They tend to be very formulaic and two-dimensional. Zoe York has done a great job on this one and it's largely due to the way that she presents the inner dialogue for both Nathan and Emme. If you are someone that needs inner dialogue to happen very clearly (e.g. stating the character name at the start of each chapter) then this might not be the book for you. Her writing style is so exceptional in this one that you hear their thoughts and she moves between both characters seamlessly. I could immediately tell where Nathan's inner thoughts ended and Emme's began and that helped me empathize with both of their situations quite quickly. I cared about both of these people which is really saying something considering that it's a short story with a scenario that's easy to get wrong in many ways. So if you are like me and are turned off at first by the situation I strongly encourage you to give this one a chance. You'll fall in love with these characters and have an enjoyable (albeit too short!) time getting to know them. I would LOVE to see another book about these two in the future and am keeping my fingers crossed that Zoe takes pity on us and writes a whole book on them soon.
Fall Fast by Zoe York is a must read out of this anthology. She is a must read author of mine and this is one from her SEALS UNDONE series. You will love Nathan and Emme and when the end comes you will still be wanting more of them.
For different reasons they are both looking for an escape from everything AND only for one night, so they dont even exchange names. BUT once Nathan has had a taste of Emme one night may not be enough for him.
I can't wait to read more of this set and more from Zoe York's Seals.
This new boxed set, themed around snow, contains stories from 16 of todays’s most prolific and best selling romantic comedy authors, one of which being my favorite author, Julia Kent.
Julia’s story, “This Never Happened”, occurs in the “Her Billionaires” universe and centers around Mike’s operations manager, Shelly and her former professor, Jamie. They shared a couple of steamy stolen kisses when she was in his class, but he refused to take it further since she was his student, and literally told her to forget it ever happened. She was devastated and subsequently dropped his class secretly hoping he would then come find her, but he never did. Fast forward two months and Jamie has been hired by Mike, much to Shelly’s dismay, to audit the resort’s books and awkwardness abounds. When Shelly reaches a breaking point, she sets out on a hike to clear her head and gets caught up in a snowstorm and has to take shelter in Mike’s cabin, not knowing that Jamie has planned a visit to the cabin as well. After catching Shelly in a very compromising and embarrassing position upon his arrival, Jamie and Shelly find that they are snowed in at the cabin for the night. Faced with such close quarters, can they finally let down their guard and get real about their true feelings for each other? This story was so incredibly sweet and funny and romantic, and it just made me feel good. And hey, how can you go wrong with two hot men who look like Thor? Mike was so cute grumbling about being the older brother. I just loved this story from start to finish!
In addition to Julia’s story, you have “Waiting for Snow” by Melanie Marchande which is a short related to her “His Secretary: Undone (A Billionaire Romance)” novel. In this short, we see how the world's most obnoxious billionaire playboy fell in love with his muse in his own words. Having read the "His Secretary" novel, I found it very enlightening to see things through Adrian's eyes. He was really quite endearing in this story, and it was interesting how the author continuously jumped us back and forth between the past and the present in their relationship. All in all, I thought this was a wonderfully romantic story which very easily stands on its own. However, if you read and enjoyed the "His Secretary: Undone" novel, this will only serve to further enhance your love of these characters, and if you haven't read the novel, this short makes you want to.
Unfortunately, that is as far as I have gotten in the set so far, but I am in absolute awe of the remaining writers, which include Blair Babylon, Sky Corgan, Gretchen Galway, Victoria Wessex, Brenna Aubrey, Daisy Prescott, Zoe York, JJ Knight, Lacey Silks, Rachel Schurig, Harlow Nash, N.M. Silber, Juliet Spenser, and Mimi Strong. I have read all of them before and thoroughly enjoyed their books. I can't wait to read their offerings here! With this talented stable of authors gathered together in one set, you really just can't go wrong! If you're a fan of romantic comedy, you would be a fool not to purchase this book... like immediately!
* I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review, which I have given.
This short and sexy epilogue takes place a few months after Rae and Wulfs civil marriage ceremony. It is an extension of the Rae:Billionaires in Disguise series. It begins with the couple arriving at the Ski lodge, Rae notices Wulf looking at a woman as the entourage approaches the elevator. Rae asks Wulf who the woman is, Wulf omits to knowing who Rae is talking about. Rae knows Wulf won't lie, he omits to things at times but always for a reason known only to him! As Wulf skis later, he is approached by an ex-girlfriend, Wulf soon learns his Father has been up to mischief! On realising they have been duped by the prejudiced prig Phillip von Hannover the women approach Rae to apologize. Rae decides to have a little fun with Phillip and give him a taste of his own medicine, showing him just who he has taken on! This epilogue is sweet yet contains all of the fun, laughter and sexy hot romantic moments we're used to from Blair and this fabulous book couple. I hurt for Rae in the beginning when Wulf denied knowing who Rae was talking about. I couldn't help but wonder how such a perceptive man could be so oblivious to his wife's feelings. Its only that we know he does these things with the best of intentions, that we can forgive his actions! As Wulf finds what Rae has been up to, he cannot help but be impressed with Rae. Although Rae manages to find a thoroughly Rae style way to turn the situation around , I still felt nervous as to one of the women present and her motives! There's still a mystery Wulf is left pondering, leaving me to wonder where this will lead in the future, if indeed anywhere at all! I don't know why I'm surprised to find myself so emotionally drawn into the lives of my favourite book couple. Blair has a way of writing a story that contains a wealth of emotion, making us feel that we are not only reading a book but that we are there along with the characters experiencing the events and emotions along side them! Fans of Blair Babylon will love this epilogue of Rae (BID). This is a great story but best read after Rae:Billionaires in Disguise, if you have not read it already, then I cannot recommend the series enough. Go on, one click away, you'll find you cannot put it down! LOL#3 is a great anthology and such a bargain too, containing fantastic stories from authors we all know and love and authors we are yet to discover. I know I cannot wait to get reading!
I received Skiing in June in exchange for an honest review!
I was honored to receive an ARC copy of this boxed set from Julia Kent as her novella associated with her Billionaire's series is a part of it. Her story is about Shelly and Jamie...Shelly works for Mike at the ski resort as his operations manager. Jamie is someone she had a moment with and ran after Jamie tells her to pretend this never happened! Mike hires someone to go over their books to make sure they are on track and in walks Jamie. And the fun begins...but it does include some laughs..sexual tension and some oh no moments! I truly enjoyed their story and as always I will not reveal too much because I want you to read it! I also found included in this boxed set a novella by JJ Knight...she continued her story of Jo and Colt..Jo is off to Las Vegas to get away and to find a wedding dress...Zero is there along with an appearance from Jax! Any time Zero is in the picture some strange things happen! In this story Jo is questioning herself and if she is the right person for Colt.. these are just 2 of the 16 stories included in this boxed set and some of the other authors are Zoe York, Mimi Strong, Brenna Aubrey just to name a few. Looking for something new with a great sampling of how amazing all these authors are...take a chance and purchase this you will be very happy you did!
I was fortunate to receive ARCs of two of the stories in this anthology. For now I’ll just comment on those. Based on these two stories alone this set is more than worth the price.
Waiting for Snow by Melanie Marchande This short story revisits Meg and Adrian from His Secretary (an amazing book) but I think you can still enjoy it even if you haven’t read His Secretary (but you really should read that book). It gives you more insight into Adrian as this story is told from his point of view.
Skiing in June by Blair Babylon This story is connected to the Billionaires in Disguise: Rae series but you don’t have to have read that (but you should; it’s great) to enjoy this short story.
This takes place after the end of Billionaires in Disguise: Rae (complete series). Wulf’s father didn’t approve of his relationship with Rae and that leads to some interesting times in this story. This is a more lighthearted story than BID: Rae and there’s a lot of laughing and sexy time. The story also answers some questions that you might have had at the end of BID: Rae. It would be wrong to give anything away. Suffice to say that if you enjoyed BID: Rae you won’t want to miss this story.
I really enjoy anthologies and this was no different. I love reading favorite authors like JJ Knight and Sky Corgan and finding new authors to read like Melanie Marchande and Gretchen Galway. All the stories were great. I did not find one that I did not like. Some of the stories like Vegas Holiday by JJ Knight involve characters from a previous story. This one involving Colt, a MMA fighter and Jo. They are planning their wedding and Jo needs an escape from all the planning. She hates being in the spotlight and starts to have doubts if she is what Colt needs. It is up to Colt to prove she is just what he needs.
Another story is The Snowman by Sky Corgan. This story is about a young woman who yearns for a bigger life but lives in remote Alaska. She feels trapped. After building a snowman with her best friend she goes in to start getting ready for the brutal nights since her parents are gone on a trip. In the night a naked man shows up on her doorstep nearly frozen. She has to help him. In the morning he makes her an offer, a way out of Alaska. Is this just a lucky break or is it magic?
There are all heat levels also from sweet to scorching. Very enjoyable read and I would definitely recommend this anthology.
Great collection of quick steamy reads for a cold night. There are 16 romantic comedies that make you want to go back and read the full stories to learn more of the back histories! I have not read them all but here are my thoughts on the ones I have read:
- Vegas Holiday by JJ Knight. The story of Jo & Colt continues with more antics from Zero and his friends as Jo escapes wedding planning for a quick trip to Vegas. Enjoyed reading the quick story but am now craving more to see how things turn out!
- Waiting for Snow by Melanie Marchande. Told from Adrian's perspective of how he and Meghan got together. He is egotistical and demanding and she can put him in his place. Very enjoyable!
- Skiing in June by Blair Babylon. This is a good continuation of Rae & Wulf's story. Without reading the original book, I was intrigued by the characters and revved up hormones make for some great romantic times!
-The Snowman by Sky Corgan. Cute story of a girl, Ferne, who is stuck out in the Alaskan wilderness wishing to be anywhere but there and how your dreams can come true if you wish hard enough. Got to love the ending of the story, only makes me want to see how things work out.
I received and ARC copy of the anthology for an honest review. Definitely a good read!
The LOL Romantic Comedy Anthology Volume 3 includes 16 enjoyable romance stories, each by a different author. This is definitely a great set and for so little money. This review is based only on the story Fall Fast by Zoe York.
Zoe York is an automatic author for me. If she has a new book out, I will literally drop everything, to read it. So when I saw that Fall Fast was going to be part of this anthology, I knew this was going to be a great collection. Fall Fast is a quick story that is part of her Seals Undone series. If you haven't read this series, I would definitely recommend you rectifying that immediately. Fall Fast revolves around Nathan and Emme. These two characters will leave you wanting more. Nathan knows what he wants and goes after it. I wouldn't expect anything less from a Seal! Just like any other book by Zoe York, you can count on this story to be well-written, to have fully developed characters, and for the characters to have this undeniable chemistry. Don't take my word for it though, go one-click now and see for yourself.
Wow what a great set, hands down the greatest short story picker upper for February! Of course I skipped right to JJ Knights Vegas Holliday. As a long going fan of Jo and Colt I couldn't wait to see where the story was headed. And it was a double bonus that Zero was front and center, I love him and all his drag queen diva! Jo is in need of some serious escape time and fly to Vegas.... what couldn't happen in Vegas???? Of course there on the hunt for a big detail.... the wedding dress, and of course mayhem..... you've got to read this!! So excited to see what happens next for Jo and Colt. I also read Mimi's book Love and Elephants... of course you never go wrong with her books, This one is a sweet story of a man and a woman who get a spell put on them..... but can the same spell bring them together and tear them apart? Also Take for Granted by Daisy Prescott... Seriously funny.... I could picture myself in this like any moment.... Laugh out loud at the lengths this couple goes through when without kids. And of course i can't wait to read more!
I've been waiting on pins and needles for this to appear SOMEWHERE because I was lucky enough to have received Zoe York's contributing story Fall Fast, a short story that is part of her Seals Undone series. The story is short, but packs a huge punch. It is unique in its setting and execution. And when it ends you are just gonna want to cry! And not just because it ends happily, but because you just want more of Nathan and Emme! Tons more! I'm not going to tell you plot details because it's short enough, what the heck would be left for you if I did THAT?! Lol But I will say this. In true Zoe York fashion, the story is touching and unique and believe it or not, for as short as it is, it does come full circle. Meaning it was a well defined beginning, middle and end. You just don't want to see it end! I won't rate the anthology just yet until I've at least read half the stories. But Zoe gets 5 'sticky notes' stars from this reader!
A fantastic collection of fun sexy short stories by an incredible group of authors. A few of the stories I've read so far:
Fall Fast by Zoe York - a super sexy fun short about Nathan and Emme and their night spent stranded in an airport when their flights are cancelled. Warning - this one will leave you wanting more!!
Skiing in June by Blair Babylon - a great follow up story for Rae and Wulf. Wulf's father continues to try and break them up before the religious marriage ceremony but Rae extracts a bit of her own revenge. Fun read!
The Snowman by Sky Corgan - a fun story of a young woman trapped in a hard life in Alaska who finds a man roaming through the wilderness naked and freezing to death. She takes the stranger in, nurses him back to life, never does she expect this handsome stranger to change her life in such a profound way.
These are all fun quick reads and this collection promises many more. I highly recommend this collection
I received an ARC of “Take For Granted” by Daisy Prescott in exchange for honest review.
I have become a big fan of Daisy Prescott’s work. All of her books are character-driven, and she does a fabulous job focusing on heroes and heroines in their 30s and 40s and their situations in life. In “Take for Granted,” Ben and Jo, a long time married couple, have a long weekend away in Aspen away from the kids, and Jo is determined to make this trip about spicing things up a bit in their love life. What ensues is a thoughtful, cute and hilarious tale of one couple's journey to bring back that little spark. Daisy writes one of the cutest and funniest love scenes I’ve read in a long time.
*Ben and Jo are a couple that was featured in Geoducks for Lovers, but in my opinion, it is not necessary to read that book prior to reading this short story. Everyone who enjoys a little comedy with their romance will enjoy it!
I received an ARC of Fall Fast for an honest review. I am not typically a fan of short stories as I tend to like more character development and secondary story lines than short stories can usually accommodate. But, Ms. York has changed my mind with her Seals Undone series of short stories. Each one is better than the last. Her latest installment, Fall Fast, appears in this anthology. I absolutely devoured Nathan and Emme's encounter at the airport and subsequent night at the airport hotel. Nathan is too perfect for words, but Ms. York brings both these characters alive. The ending was perfect, and it maybe left it open for another encounter between them. Oh, how I hope Ms. York has a novella planned for these two! If you haven't read her work, yet, check out her Wardham or Pine Harbour series. Both are sexy, small town romances with wonderfully developed characters. You won't be disappointed!
I have had the pleasure of reading and ARC copy of the short story TAKE FOR GRANTED by the wonderful Daisy Prescott, which is part of this great anthology! TAKE FOR GRANTED is a short story featuring Ben and Jo, 2 members of the Geoducks gang(a gang I strive to be a part of)! Ben and Jo go on a little holiday without their kids, and it is so much fun to watch them reignite their passion and relationship in fun and sexy ways! Ben and Jo throwing caution to the wind, and acting on emotions rather than age was a big pull for me. As I read, I wanted more to their story, which is always good!! Well done, Daisy! I can't wait to read all of the other short stories in the newest Volume of the LOL Romantic Comedy Anthology!!
The only bad thing about this boxed set is that the stories arent long enough...they were all really great and what a good way to learn and read from new authors without breaking the bank. the price of this set is unreal and could have been higher (which i am glad it isnt) for the number of stories alone. One of my favorite authors is Julia Kent and her addition to this set was great. Shelly is from another one of her series and she gets her own story here. Even though it was short it is pure julia where she gets serious and funny together. her writing is always on point and i cant be happier with this one. great read and well worth the price of this set
I am reviewing n.M. Silber's novella because, so far, it's the only one I've read. Her novella is titled Once Upon a Midnight Snowy. it 's about Ms. Klein, who is a mystery writer and has been left all of the books and a set of papers hidden in a book called The Trial by her upstairs neighbor, Jane Mallawan. She meets her very handsome and sarcastic neighbor Taylor, who is an ADA while trying to go thru the books. The other residents of this multi-apt. dwelling and everyone gets involved in trying these papers for their own reasons. It's classic Ms Silber and, you will love it. I just wish it could have been a whole book!
I love collections like these. You can't beat the price and all the content they have in them. Fall Fast was a great story. I love the Seals Undone series she writes. Who doesn't like a hot navy seal?!?! This one will leave you wanting more for sure. Two people not expecting to meet and sparks fly. Nathan is just a sexy man with a heart of gold. He goes after what he wants. And even though Emme doesn't want a man he left it pretty hard for her to resist. Can't wait for more.
I received an advance review copy of When Things Go Wrong in exchange for an honest review. I loved this short story. Jules and Scar have a special friendship that helped them both through some rough years in their lives. The encounter at the ski retreat is indicative of that beautiful lasting relationship between friends. I can't wait to read more of their story in the Cheaters Anonymous series coming up soon. I always enjoy a good Lacey Silk story or book and would recommend this story as great reading!
My story in this anthology is entitled IT WAS ALWAYS YOU.
Friends discover their feelings are more than that but timing has never been on their side.
When Jeremy, her brother’s best friend, came back into her life, Michaela cursed the fact that she was in a relationship with someone else. But now that she’s free, he’s dating her roommate.
Have not read the entire set only the short story by Daisy Prescott, Take for Granted. If you have followed her books in the Modern Love Story series this will make you smile. Out for a sexy weekend, without kids and determined to try new things, this couple seems like any of us. It made me laugh out loud at the lengths they go through to feel young and alive. Great to have a story most of us could relate to and may have experienced. Thanks for my copy Daisy.
I was gifted this set of snow bound books by several authors and have to say that they all did a great job with each and every book in this book set. Each book has a dealing of snow through out them and that makes for romance for sure cause when it snows you can cuddle in front of a fire place :) It is hard to write about each story as I really enjoyed them all. Great job to all the authors for these wonderful stories.
I read Daisy Prescott's entry, Take For Granted. Her couple, Jo and Ben, were introduced to us in her Modern Love Stories series. I loved this. A couple who have been together a long time go on vacation. Jo wants some more romance or spark now that they're an "old married couple." They are cute and hilarious and I loved how real the story felt. It's heartwarming to read of real love that lasts.
I received an ARC of Daisy Prescott's "Take For Granted" in January and spent a delightful lunch break with Jo and Ben. This story touches on the monotony that can accompany monogamy and the hilarity that ensues when attempts are made to break out of the rut over a child-free weekend. I snickered, chuckled, and full belly laughed. Daisy writes real people. Come meet them, you won't regret it.
I received an ARC eBook in exchange for an honest review.

Waiting for Snow by Melanie Marchande
I was really excited to see this one. Its a bit prequel of His Secretary: Undone (which I loved) and a little of what happened after the book. It describes just how our obnoxious billionaire Adrian Risinger fell in love with his secretary and how he kept her when he finally admits his feelings for her.
It was interesting to see his take on things. How he knew she detested him. How amused he would get at seeing her try to hide it and playing alone that she was doing a good job. He was nuts about her from the start but felt it was safer to just find someone else. He loved that she wasn't scared of him and sassed him back when everyone else in his life just ran for cover. And an insights of how they finally made it to living together.

This Never Happened by Julia Kent
A short story that includes some of my favorite people from Julia Kent's Her Billionaire's series.
Shelly Jordan can't seem to stop thinking about her accounting professor. They only shared one kiss but then he said the most horrible words ever... forget it every happened. How the heck is she supposed to do that when he is the only man she has ever let get that close to her. When her boss Mike contracts said professor, Jamie Cantrelle, to handle the accounting for his business all she wants to do is run. After-all he's not interested in her. Right?
Jamie can't believe that Shelly works as the Operations Manager at the ski resort he just got hired to audit. His biggest regret was letting her run from him but now he has a chance to change that. Even if his biggest obstacle is the girl of his dreams herself.
I received an ARC copy of this anthology, and have read it in its entirety. I have reviewed each book briefly. LOL #3 Snow
Waiting for Snow – Melanie Marchande I love the “flashback” version of Adrian’s POV. I have read “My Secretary – Undone” and truly loved this little accompanying book. Love revisiting this couple. Great Job
Blair Babylon Rae and Wulf. This is the first I have read from this author, and I now want to read more of Rae and Wulf’s story. From this little teaser, I believe I will enjoy their story very much. Well written, kept my attention and gave me a reason to read more from Blair.
The Snowman – Sky Corgan Ferne and Michael. What a cute couple. This is definitely on the fantasy level. Sometimes, you just have to believe in the impossible. Short and sweet, but well written. Would love to read a much longer version. It could have so many possibilities.
Can you Love Me Now – Gretchen Galway Short and sweet. The first from this author for me, and I can honestly say I would like more. I would like to read more of their history, and of course, more of their future. Good bones to begin a great full length story. I would be interested in reading it. Well done.
Snowbound – Victoria Wessex Not sure about this one, but it did have a good base for an extended story. It would have been nice to have had Arabella open up more to Jarrett. Even though I like the short stories, I think this one was a bit too short. Still, well written and I did enjoy it.
It was Always You – Brenna Aubrey Fell in love with this couple. Liked the fact that they didn’t waste 20 years (only 6). The idea of having to watch the one you are truly interested in go through the motions with someone else is a hard pill to swallow. It is always nice to have that HAE. Strong characters, good plot, lots of meat in the middle. Truly enjoyed this one. First read from this author and I’m looking forward to reading more from her.
Take for Granted – Daisy Prescott Loved this! What a great story. We don’t often get to read about the vibrant middle aged couples still very much in love and lust. This has so much good going on. A definite must read. Would like to hear more about Ben and Jo. Well done!
Fall Fast - Zoe York OMG! Hot Hot Hot!!! I want more. (stomping my feet and clenching my hands into fists) Wow! Can’t wait for the continuation of Nathan and Emme’s story. First from the author for this reader, but definitely not the last…Sure did grab my attention in a hurry.
Vegas Holiday – JJ Knight Now that was sweet. Loved the plot, the characters are strong, lots of drama (no pun intended) and love prevails. Will definitely look this author up for more.
When Things go Wrong – Lacey Silks Nooooo! Now I have to wait! Wow, what a great prelude to an even better story, or at least I hope it will be better. Loved this short and am looking forward to the continuation of Jules and Scar’s story. Well written, great characters, wonderful story line. Can’t ask for much more than that (except the conclusion of course) Well done!
This never Happened – Julia Kent Awww! This was a wonderful, sweet romance. I fell in love with this couple. Now, all we need is to hear the rest of their story. I love the twist with her boss Mike, and Jamie. (I won’t tell, you’ll have to read about it). Good, solid base, great characters, lots of anguish and ups and downs. The way real life is sometimes. Loved it
Snow Kissed – Rachel Schurig This was so sweet and romantic. Loved the story. The characters were great. Perfect length, but still leaves us with perhaps a future story from Bella and Scott. Loved it
Begin Again – Harlow Nash This was really short. Good story, but really leaves you wanting to know more! I sure hope there’s a follow up story for this one
Once Upon a Midnight Snowy – N.M. Silber (Brice Adler) LOL another great mini! Perfect amount of suspense and intrigue, and a little bit of love. And, the door is still open for a continuation. Loved it.
Warm Winter Kisses – Juliet Spenser This was better than hot chocolate in front of a fire on a cold winter night. Love the story, love the characters. Well done
Love and Elephants – Mimi Strong Loved this! This story is whimsical, with a bit of daring and a lot of love. Great way to end the anthology.
I was lucky to get two of the novellas in this compilation as ARCS for honest review. Snowman by Sky Corgan and When Thing Go Wrong by Lacey Silks First, Snowman by Sky Corgan. I think this one threw me for a loop because it was so unlike anything else I've read from this author. The main character Ferne has grown up in rural Alaska with her mom and dad, home schooled and isolated for the most part she's grown up lonely and curious. She wants out and to leave and resents that her parents don't support her wishes. Starting to think it's hopeless till a storm brings a handsome surprise to her doorstep. I liked the story and could really feel Ferne's frustrations but as with most short stories I was left wanting more. The ways the author described the scenery I could easily picture Ferne's house in my head down to the littlest detail and to the point I felt myself shivering through the storm. A few parts were a little unbelievable for me just because of the shortened time frame but i'm hoping that maybe this is a prequel to more. I think the adventures that follow this story would definitely be worth a read so maybe if we ask nicely Sky will give Ferne her own book!
Now for When Things Go Wrong by Lacey Silks. This story is a prequel to her upcoming release Cheater's Anonymous (due out in April). it's the story of the first time Julia and Scar bump into each other since high school. Set at a ski resort where Julia is stuck there with her Mother and her latest boy toy and her sister she's having a miserable time when she bumps into the last person she expects to see. Scar was her best friend in high school, both dealing with home issues related to cheating parents they bonded over their cynicism towards love. They haven't seen each other in 5 years and though time has definitely changed them both they find themselves falling into a familiar rhythm with maybe a tension that wasn't there before.... I'm so happy this is a prequel....first off Julia is snarky and witty and her description of her mom's antics had me laughing and thankful that wasn't my mom. Focused on her future she doesn't have the time nor does she want love right now as opposed to her serial dater sister. Scar is the hot black sheep of his family, though from the sounds of it his brothers are no slouches either, but still he's the one on the outside with just the bit of rebel in him. I found this short story a quick, easy, fun, and intriguing read that had me putting Cheater's Anonymous on my TBR so I can read the rest of Julia and Scar's story!
