Tornado: An opposites attract romance with neurodivergence, LGBT, and polyamory rep
I don’t do roots.
I don’t do forever.
And I definitely don’t do quiet men who look at me like I’m everything.
I travel for a living. I blog about sex, freedom, and living without shame. I have ADHD, wanderlust, and a life that fits in a suitcase. Attachment has never been my thing, because staying means choosing one place, one version of myself, one future.
Then there’s Jacob.
Shy. Gentle. Devoted. Neurodivergent in a way that mirrors mine differently... but beautifully. He grounds me without caging me. Wants me without owning me. And touches me like I’m something precious instead of fleeting.
Falling for him was never the plan.
And that’s the problem.
We burn hot.
We grow fast.
And suddenly this isn’t just it’s connection.
But love asks questions I’ve spent my life avoiding.
Can freedom include another person?
Can stability exist without sacrifice?
And can I love someone without losing myself?

Holy fucking shit.
I didn’t think I could love one of Lizzie’s books as much as I loved ‘What We Need’. Turns out I was wrong. This is another 6 star read for me.
I cried. I laughed. I learned.
Lizzie writes love and heartache like a woman who has lived it.
The representation in this book of autism is incredible. As someone with two best friends with autism I was able to relate and understand things better through the lens in which they view their lives.
The ADHD representation and sex-positive vibes were also represented perfectly.
Tippi is a tornado, Jacob is the calm amidst the storm, and together they’re invincible.
This book has my entire heart.

When the all American chaos demon meets the shy buttoned up English gentleman, it was supposed to be just a temporary fling. But she changed his life, and he cracked open her heart.
Neurodivergence, pansexuality, ethical nonmanogamy amp the spice level in this body positive, sex positive, and consent positive story.

I was so lucky to get an ARC of this book directly from Lizzie Stanley, now, I am a fan of hers but I will give an honest review….here goes, buckle up buttercup!
This story is just so positive on so many levels, it faces, neurodivergent peeps, body positive peeps, sex positive and non monogamy peeps and represents them sooooo well, as usual Lizzie Stanley has written these characters with depth of emotion missing in so many books that I have picked up lately!
The story follows Tippi (sister of Leo - from What We Want) and Jacob (Brother of Sadie - from What We Want) which was lovely to dip back into these guys from Lizzies previous books, back to review Dawn, so Tippi is a Podcast Sex Host and has ADHD, she lives her life by her own rules and she wants unashamedly (rightly so Tippi!) Jacob, oh Jacob my heart! He is shy, autistic and so very quiet but has a soul built as strong as rock, he is supportive and just a beautiful soul….so the book basically explores their attraction and need for something deeper with each other whilst still having what they need to fulfil their or should I say mainly Tippis’ needs for sex with other people. Tippi manages to give a balance to Jacob and he grows and you can feel the calmness she brings him.
Now can we all hail Ms Lizzie Stanley here who wrote this book with such care and attention and positivity to all of the above, she manages to bring people to life through words and emotions that hit hard, I was so rooting for these guys and this book didn’t let me down, it’s stayed with me long after I’ve closed the last page!
If you’re unsure if this book is for you, take a chance, I thoroughly enjoyed it and have no hesitation giving it 5 stars….now has she finished writing the next book yet?! Time is ticking

ah the way the prologue had me sweating! 🤭
Jacob the sexy, shy, gentle hunk of a man. I absolutely loved his internal monologue during this book. He is the epitome of if they want to they will! there were so many times that he pushed past his barriers because he wanted to. He wanted Tippie and did everything that it took to get her!
Tippie was a hell yea from the first mention of her on the page. Free spirited and the way that she saw Jacob was beautiful. I loved that she saw the beauty in Jacob, set her sights on him and went for it. So many times I shouted "Go girl!" whilst reading this book. It was really refreshing to read a book where she takes the control too. But Jacob as shy as he is when he got down he was down for the get down 🥵
There was lots of representation in this book and it was lovely to read, Tippie has ADHA and Jacob Neurodivergent. undiagnosed at the start of the book. I loved how accepting Tippie was with Jacob in this book, she didn't push just accepted his answers. Their relationship is built on trust and understanding and the desire to rip each others clothes off.
My biggest take away from reading this book and so many of Lizzie's other books is there is someone out there for everyone, you don't have to be perfect or change yourself. That person will come along and love you for you. There is a Tippie for every Jason... you just have to find them.
I adore this authors writing style this book is one of my favourite reads of the year so far.
Roll on the next book 💜

Lizzie Stanley is the most remarkable author and I was lucky enough to meet her at a book event recently where I purchased a signed physical copy of this book pre publication date.
I've read every single Wishbone Tattoo book and the spin offs and I've loved them all.
Tornado is different to the other books in the series as it explores themes we haven't really seen before. These themes include Neurodivergence. Threesomes and ethical non monogamy and male sexual dysfunction. I mean these are pretty heavy themes to throw into one book! but Lizzie Stanley has written about these themes in such a beautiful way that it is more a celebration of self discovery and acceptance.
What I also really love about this book is that both characters are neuro divergent. Tippi the FMC has ADHD and Jacob is on the autistic spectrum. Tippi is so openly sexually confident and experienced and her ADHD helps her to be forward about what she wants and she isn't shy about it. Jacob the MMC is the exact opposite, he is sexually and emotionally insecure, he has a history of parental trauma and had to learn how to navigate undiagnosed autism. Tippi is the Tornado that enters Jacob's life and this amazing story takes off.

What I really love in Lizzie's Stanley way of describing men, it is that they also have emotions and insecurities.
And by this one, she did not disappoint. This is a spin off of the Wishbone Tattoo series and it gives still the vibes of the found family in Foxton-on-sea.
While many authors loose themselves, rewriting long interactions with old characters, or introducing new ones which will eventually come along in another book, this one tells the story of Tippi(Leo's younger sister) and Jacob (Sadie's older brother), their neurodivergences make them so special, without stereotypes. And that's that. No filling around gaps in the story with other people's business.
Kudos to the openness of exploring same sex interactions with respect and consent and all the time checking is such a turn on that let oneself really wanting to engage in such a sexual adventure☺️
Looking forward to getting my hands on an ARC next time 😁

Polar Opposites Heal Hurt Souls
Two neurodivergent individuals take different paths as a result of their emotional trauma.
One is an introvert who avoids social activity, if at all possible, and keeps a rigid routine. An existence that is calm and deliberate.
The other is an extrovert who quickly crashes in and out of social events around the world like a Tornado. An existence that is energetic and carefree.
Once their lives intersect, a chemistry takes hold and alters their being in unimaginable ways. And how Lizzie Stanley plays that connection out makes for an all-consuming read.

FMC - Tippi - ADHD, Wild and free, Social Butterfly
MMC - Jacob - Autistic, Socially Awkward
I absolutely loved this book from start to finish, the prologue had me hooked, I absolutely loved the representation of neurospiciness, being Autistic myself I could relate with Jacob so many times. The representation was done beautifully and not over done.
my goodness the spicy scenes were spicy, non monogamy is not for me in my personal life but in books I absolutely loved it.
Lizzie you have done it again, with another 5 star read. How you filled this book with so much representation and made it flow beautifully I will never know, but it was fantastic

Oh my, that opening scene in the prologue? It was fire!
Jacob is Sadie's brother he has Autism and Tippi is Leo's sister, she has ADHD. if you've read 'What We Want' then you would of met Sadie & Leo in their own story! - if you haven't, what you wanting for?
Jacob first meets Tippi and his nieces birthday party, he doesnt have the confidence to say hello to her but is called over by Leo. He doesnt remember meeting Tippi briefly at Leo & Sadies wedding, he finds social gatherings difficult so he trys to blend in instead of standing out.
So far Jacob is absolutely adorable! Tippi puts his name on her gift, Jacob wants to pay her back but she refuses, instead she says to just buy her a beer. It happens again the the cafe, Tippi buys Jacobs tea, so she asks him to company her to a speedway meet.
Their first time together did turn into a quick one (on Jacobs end 🤭) the second time they discuss having a benefit friendship as Tippi is leaving in a few weeks.
Tippi brings Jacob out of his shell and its beautiful to see, hes finally understanding himself.
This book was absolutely amazing, the way lizzie writes is extraordinary, it flows so beautifully, the way she writes about neurodivergent as if its second nature.
Hands down the best book ive read so far this year!

📚 Interconnected standalone
📚 LGBT+
📚 Polyamory
"The way he looks at me when we get to he's hallway has me melting in my panties.
The yearning on his face makes me want to climb all over him like a purring cat."
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Well Lizzy you've done it again 👌 This book was just absolute perfection. This book will not disappoint.
Tornado hits on many subjects and I always get so nervous reading books like this as they can be done so badly. But Lizzie has hit the nail on the head and every subject from neurospicy MCs to non-monogamy as written so well and really captured these tropes amazingly with her characters.
Who remembers Leo and Sadie from What We Want well Tippi the FMC is Leo's sister and Jacob the MMC is Sadies brother... EEEK. Tippi is what we might call a tornado in the sense she lives by her own rules and quite fiery whilst Jacob is literally the complete opposite, he is quiet, prefers he's own company and has been molded a certain way by he's father. Do they find their own love story in each other?
Thank you once again Lizzie for this AMAZING read 5 ⭐️ read for me again. I cannot wait to see what is to come ❤️
