Tyler’s a fun-loving, surfing mechanic who loves his life and lives every day to the fullest. When he meets potential client Kit, he’s immediately attracted and ready to get to know the man better.
Kit’s a music producer who used to do the singing himself. He was quite the star, actually, until an accident in his tour bus took whipped out nearly his entire band. Kit didn’t come out it unscathed, though. Along with emotional scars, he lost both legs and hasn’t sung a note since.
Tyler’s more concerned with how Kit makes him feel than whether or not the man has artificial limbs, and he pursues Kit eagerly. Can Tyler help Kit to believe in love again?

Often referred to as "Space Cowboy" and "Gangsta of Love" while still striving for the moniker of "Maurice," Sean Michael spends his days surfing, smutting, organizing his immense gourd collection and fantasizing about one day retiring on a small secluded island peopled entirely by horseshoe crabs. While collecting vast amounts of vintage gay pulp novels and mood rings, Sean whiles away the hours between dropping the f-bomb and persuing the kama sutra by channeling the long lost spirit of John Wayne and singing along with the soundtrack to "Chicago."
A long-time writer of complicated haiku, currently Sean is attempting to learn the advanced arts of plate spinning and soap carving sex toys.
Barring any of that? He'll stick with writing his stories, thanks, and rubbing pretty bodies together to see if they spark.
Ok idk what the heck Sean michael is going thru but I am NOT liking his books right now! the last few I've read have been awful! Not at all like what I'm used to from him which is awesomeness! This book had a great premise but it was just slow and boring! It was all so surfacey and not in a fun light kind of way...in a forgettable kind of way.
I’m a fan of Sean Michael’s writing so I was happy to pick up this story and give it a try. I’m also a sucker for the hurt/comfort genre and I was hoping for good things from this book.
Tyler’s a man who seems to live life to the fullest. He loves his job and it shows in everything he does.
Kit is almost the complete opposite of Tyler. He’s a little broken, but his spirit is worse than his body. After an accident claimed almost everyone he loved, he’s just sort of existed on the edges of life. His visit to Tyler’s shop is his first step in his journey back to life.
And it’s a step in the right direction.
This was a good story. Watching these two men draw closer and closer is a treat to be sure. I love how Tyler just goes with the flow and doesn’t really let Kit get lost in what he can’t do anymore.
The chemistry between them starts at a slow burn but it isn’t long before the heat builds into something scorching.
I loved watching Tyler help Kit find his way out of his shell and realize that he was still someone that could be wanted and loved. Tyler seems to know exactly how far and fast he can push before backing off and letting Kit catch his breath.
It’s not a perfect story. I would have liked to have seen them spend a little more time getting to know each other before falling into bed. There’s more to this story than just hot, steamy sex, although there is plenty of that. It’s also heavily emotional in places especially as the two men start to realize how important the other is becoming in their life.
In some ways everything in the story almost happens too easily and I would have liked a little more angst and tension to balance it out, but that’s probably just a personal choice on my part. I like a little bad to help make the good seem even better.
This story is sweet and compelling and I’ll admit that once I started it, I couldn’t stop reading. There’s not a lot of side characters, at least none that jump out at me, but that’s okay. It means the focus is completely on the two main characters and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
If you are looking for something short, well-written and guaranteed to tug at your heartstrings, then Beginning to Believe is the story for you!
One little side note: Authors, if there are spelling and grammar mistakes in your blurb, it doesn’t encourage people to read your story. I corrected them in the blurb attached to this review, but that was a fail on both the author and the editor’s part.

PLEASE READ FIRST MY RATING SYSTEM!!! To my ratings (for all people, who wonder, why I say a 3*-book is a good book and should be readed): 5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like Liberty from Seth King or Save the kids series from EM Leya). it’s like an A+ 4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books) It’s like an A 3* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It’s like an A-B 2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartly, but it was ok) It’s like an C- D 1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (maybe too many mistakes, not a nice plot, or unlogical story, so a NO-GO) It’s like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
Well I've given this five stars but I feel like slapping Sean just a little bit...I so wanted this to be longer....where it ended was just too soon.....You'll see....No way does it take away any of the great story between Ty and Kit though....They were just great together....Kit lost his legs in a bus crash with his band six years ago and I don't think he thought he'd find anyone who would love him without them...But Ty was taken with him practically from the start...They were perfect together...I loved Ty's mum she was sweet to Kit.....A great read just one more chapter would have made it perfect x
When I first got into the genre, I read some of Sean Michael's work. They were a bit short for me- as I enjoy a longer story. Although the supernatural element is usually right up my alley, I just didn't connect with his work because of the too quick nature of most of his stories. Now, that being said, this book (which was a bit longer) didn't have any of the supernatural but DID have very compelling characters with flaws and insecurities that were so beautifully written that I read this in one shot. I loved this book and will definitely REREAD it.
This book is a precious love story between two men. So sweet, so hot, so worth reading. Sean Michael, you're quite a writer. I recommend this book to the fans and future fans of this author - that means all of you!
This is a really good short story. Both main characters were lovable, you wanted their relationship to succeed. I had tears in my eyes by the end. Marvelous
