Mike Brooks was born in Ipswich, Suffolk and moved to Nottingham when he was 18 to go to university. He’s stayed there ever since, and now lives with his wife, two cats, two snakes and a collection of tropical fish. When not working for a homelessness charity he plays guitar and sings in a punk band, watches football (soccer), MMA and nature/science documentaries, goes walking in the Peak District or other areas of splendid scenery, and DJs wherever anyone will tolerate him.
all and all, ghost legion (the 2nd book in Mike Brooks Akurra story) was a bit of disappointment. I was beyond excited to pick this up! i mean it just released today & i didn’t put it down once! but maybe those high expectations got the best of me?
the characters for sure had there moments! but only a few of them did, because there is A LOT going on in here. this book has like 5 different factions in it, so some subplots just feel a little short imo.
if you like high action books, i think you’ll highly highly enjoy this. unfortunately, those type of books aren’t my personal favourite so ‘ghost legion’ is an unfortunate victim to my personal taste. but hey, that’s how books are. someones 3 star is another persons 5 star.
maybe i’ll update this in the future with more, in regards to plot and ending etc. but i want to avoid spoilers for the people that may be reading it in the coming weeks and months :).
