Desecrated Saints

Rate this book
ESCAPE FROM BLACKWOOD INSTITUTE.

THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE.

Sinner. Saint. Lost. Found.

I never intended to leave Blackwood Institute alive. Instead, I found a whole new family. A reason to live. Hope. Belonging. Acceptance. Love.

We barely made it out with our lives.

Now, the real fight to survive begins.

In a world of false allegiances, corruption and violence, Incendia Corporation wants to silence our voices. We survived the sickness at the heart of their twisted medical marvel. Our truth is all we have left, but the world doesn’t want to hear it.

We’re just six unhinged criminals, on the run.

When tragedy strikes at the heart of our family, we must forge new alliances and brave the cruelty of an indifferent world. Enemies are gathering to watch our destruction, but the greatest threat still lies within.

There’s a vicious monster buried inside of me, battling for control. Patient Eight kept me alive in the dark, but Brooklyn West wants a future. The two cannot co-exist without imploding. Forging a new path will cost me everything–including the people I love.

In death and blood, we will find our happy ending.

The game is almost over.

Check mate, motherf*ckers.

Author's Desecrated Saints is book three in the Blackwood Institute trilogy. They must be listened to in order. Full trigger warning is available inside the book.

I CANNOT BELIEVE I NEVER WROTE A REVIEW FOR THIS BOOK 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱.
I finished a while ago but it’s fresh in my mind like it was yesterday because I couldn’t love this trilogy more even if I tried….

This is the third and final book in the Blackwood Institute trilogy and just like the first 2 it was jaw dropping phenomenal. It picks up right after the events of the second book and if you know, you know 🤯
My feelings during this last book ranged from amazed to devastated, from happy to panicked, from amused to what the fuck ? And this was throughout the entire book. This author is in my list now to do a deep dive into because this trilogy will live rent free in my mind FOREVER ! I teared up countless times in the entire trilogy and this one was leaving me with a sense of injustice and rage because of what my babies were going through.
Brooke and her band of misfits were navigating a very uncharted territory for them all while trying to control their mental illness without any proper medication and running from Incendia. Kade was trying all in his power to keep everyone as sane as possible while trying to keep his own hopes alive. It was agonizing….. 😣😭
My poor girl Broke went through SO SO SO SOOOOOO MUCH I can’t even fathom, her mind is her worst enemy 😩😭😩😭😩😭😩
I felt completely in love MORE with each character and different than the other books, here I had no favorites because they are all amazing in their own very wrong way. The spicy was hot AF !!!!
Towards the end there were some situations I didn’t like it but wasn’t enough to make me rate this book any less than 5 ⭐️I am not mentioning here because this is a non spoiler review….
I was CRYING like a baby in the end of the book, it was so sad 😭😭😭😭😭😭 no worries it has a HEA but it’s sad how it happened, I don’t like that 4 of them was out leaving and reconstructing their lives while Brooke and Sev were in treatment, YES they needed but if I was the author I would put them all together having the treatment THEY ALL NEEDED (besides Kade, he didn’t need treatment) but then he would’ve been there with them voluntarily like always.
Also not talking about Jude and Hud, in my mind it didn’t happen, it wasn’t necessary, added nothing to the story it just served to make me upset because they were supposed to be ONLY obsessed with Brooke, don’t get me wrong they were extremely obsessed but still as the bitch that I am didn’t want any attention diverted from Brooke 😡
Now I will put all her other books in my tbr ! 😍🖤

Possible spoilers

It was very hard to finish this book. I felt like it was way too slow and stretched out. I still didn’t like Hudson. That man gave me the ick. You know who I loved? Sev/Jude, he is my man and I love him with everything I have.

Even though I couldn’t stand Hudson I did ship him with Sev and the book was bearable because of Eli and Sev. I also believe I didn’t love this one as much as the other books because I just wasn’t feeling the vibes/tropes in it.

I will still read the Sabre series because I really liked Enzo, Hunt and Theo. This was not my cup of tea but maybe it’ll be yours. Toodles!

Recensione sulla mia pagina Bookstagram e su amazon
https://www.instagram.com/p/CwVIJmqod...

Circling back now to read Forever Ago, then onto Sabre Security, J Rose is someone I'll read whatever she writes. Goodness gracious, what a book.

The complexities of this dark romance in this shared universe is a massive-pulls on your heart strings-mental freaking rollercoaster (careful of that ferris wheel)..and I didn't know when I began this series just how incredible it truly is.

Writing style is phenomenal in my opinion. Multiple POVs but you don't get lost in it. Impeccable playlist with each chapter. How many times I had to breathe, bite my own fist, and face palm..this one sucked me in completely and I'm so incredibly stoked to continue in this universe.

The conclusion to the series, though I’m glad to get some closure after how we left things previously, this is definitely not my favourite out of the three. I mean I gave books one and two five stars and this last book didn’t even come close in terms of its impact. Don’t get me wrong I still enjoyed it but things felt dragged out and I can't believe I’m saying this but there was too much spice and it felt like at the detriment of the story.

Anyway, this does give the needed closure but as I mentioned it kinda dragged and felt like it was going round in circles. There was lots of mayhem death and craziness but nothing that kind of hit home and brought out the emotions. I have a theory I believe because of all the batshit crazy shenanigans that occur constantly when something big and should be devastating occurs the emotional ripple is diluted because you’re kind of immune to it and desensitised.

I would still recommend this series all day every day and I had a definite blast whilst reading. I will also be reading other books by this author in future its just this one didn’t hit home quite like its predecessors did.

god, this series was good. this reminded me of when i started heavily reading again for the first time years ago — it just had a sort of nostalgic vibe to it. i loved each of these MMCs and just when i thought i had my favorite, a new one came along. i loved each of the MMC’s backstories and the FMC’s backstory as well. this might be one of my favorite FMCs of all time — she didn’t take anyone’s shit and she stood up for herself and that’s exactly what i need in a dark reverse harem when the MMCs all have territorial personalities. i loved them individually as much as i loved them together. the spice was incredible. the PLOT. the flowing plot throughout this entire trilogy was insane and so addicting. i do wish this had ended a little differently. i was content with their ending, but i almost wish it hadn’t been wrapped up as well as it did. it almost felt TOO perfect after everything they had gone through.

wow, what a series! I can’t believe it’s over already 😭 - I should have read it slower but I was too absorbed in this world and just had to see what would happen next and how it would end. this book was anxiety inducing and it had me a nervous wreck because i genuinely didn’t know what to expect. everything literally tied together so perfectly though. 👏🏻 It was beautiful and I love the intro to the characters of Sabre Security, I will definitely be reading that series soon! the growth that all of these characters experienced was beautiful. they have all been through so much and deserved good things regardless of if they believe that or not. ugh man I truly love all the main characters a lot: Brooklyn, Eli, Phoenix, Kade, Hudson and even Seven. 🥺 I’m so glad he was added to their little family - he was the missing piece that was needed. Eli will forever be my favorite character though, I love that sweet broken guy so much. 🥹 and can we talk about the letters???? I was sobbing reading them. the conclusion was just so beautiful and I would have loved to see more; like I could have read 100 more pages of this broken, crazy, chaotic family but that’s just me not wanting the series to end. this book was definitely more plot heavy, suspenseful and action packed but the spice was NOT lacking 🧎‍♀️🔥 my god these characters know how to get down and dirtyyyy. 🥵 anyways, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, J Rose has become one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to continue reading the rest of books in her universe! I do recommend reading them in the order she suggests because I can see the world building and how everything is connecting! 🩶

This series was just mind blowing.
I loved everything seconds, every pages of it.
As someone who works on the mental illness field, the description of mental illnesses and the insight on the subject was perfectly done. To say I am impressed by it is an understatement.
The character development was on point.
In this last book we have all the answers we were waiting for and more. I can’t wait to read more of J Rose books and more about this universes

I have been dragging my feet about finishing this. I'm not ready to let this series go. I've loved it so much. I'm really gonna miss these characters.

This series is so perfect in so many ways. I'm always nervous to read the end of a book because sometimes it just isn't as good as the rest of the book. But this, this ending was perfect. J Rose is truly an amazing author. She wrote the perfect ending for these characters, it wasn't easy and it wasn't all roses but it was perfect. That wouldn't have fit with the rest of this series if the ending had been easy and cheesy.

I can't believe this is the end, I would have loved for this series to go on forever. I'm pretty sure there's an E forever carved into my heart thanks to Eli. And Seven, what a man. I'm so glad we got to see more of him.

This will definitely be a series I need to re-read at some point in my life.

Most of this book felt like a waiting game. Waiting for the other shoe to drop, waiting for answers, retribution and closure that felt never ending. Compared to the previous books the squirmishes in this book felt minor even though the gang is finally free and uncaged. I had so many assumptions on where the book was heading, most of which I was dead wrong on. While everyone wants to take down Blackwood Institute’s parent organization Incendia, nothing is going to be easy as there is an insane amount of money and government working together. None of the group really have credibility or power, so baring their souls and stories may be be the only thing that can give them peace and justice. It was hard at times accepting all the characters and they’re faults. When it came to Hudson I would occasionally forget what he did in the past and then the memory would return and I’d hate him all over. Kade continued to be judgmental and cruel in ways I never would have expected given his character in book one. They do suffer such cruelty it’s hard to imagine they could actually join the real world. Which brings me to the end….. While it may not be pleasing for everyone, (especially given the timeline to be vague), this was the ending they all needed and deserved. They all went into the system with actual needs that were never fully addressed or assessed correctly so I'm glad they all finally find their place in the world. This was a really wonderful and fucked up series. It truly delves into the darker side of he world and while kinda unrealistic it’s impossible not to get sucked into this world dealing with some heavy shit, crazy people, triggers galore and so much more.

My boyfriends are boyfriends

holy shit this series?? it’s official, it’s become one of my new faves, im literally obsessed with it and the author is an amazing writer, I can’t wait to read more of their other books! this book specifically though, a writing masterpiece, the anxiety inducing, heart wrenching, angst filled work of art I’ve ever read, and some of the best smut I’ve ever read as well! the detail and planning that must’ve gone into this to tie up so many different and intricate plots that all wind together in some way, im in awe with the way this is all written and I don’t think I’m every gunna get over this series! the plot kept me hooked the whole time, I couldn’t even put it down, I’m so sad to be saying goodbye to these characters, i wish there was some more on their happiness after jude and brooklyns recovery, but that’s just me being sad the story is over, everything was wrapped up perfectly! the arc of brooklyns character in this book was insane, she had so much growth and she really became one of the most resilient characters I’ve ever read about, she was such a badass and seeing her recovered and finally happy was the best thing to read about! as for the guys, the addition of judes character in this family unit was honestly the perfect slot into this group, like I didn’t even realise something was missing a little from the original group until jude joined, and it’s safe to say he owns my heart, I adore him so much, and his growth was just as beautiful to read about! each of the other guys, eli, phoenix, kade and hudson have come a long way after everything that’s happened to them and each of their arcs was so personal and well written, im never getting over the authors writing because I’m truly amazed by it, each of these character hold such a dear place in my heart! the letters actually broke me, I was a sobbing mess, out of joy and sadness I’m so emotional right now! overall, one of the best books and series’ I’ve ever read, I’m obsessed and I wish I could read it all again for the first time!

This book is the epitome of "this could have been an email."

I wanted hope for Book 3, but the author completely ruined Seven the same as the others. Now 5 Members in the Copy Paste Wall Slamming Club.

They only exist to fuck Brooklyn. Meanwhile, she spends the entire time weeping, bruised, cut, bleeding, and wet (soo very wet, always).

...Then, like she got a star-powered mushroom, she becomes a savage killing machine, pummeling full-grown men. What author reads this back and thinks, 'Yeah, that shits PERFECT!' ???? 🤣

Well, what a journey! I was so worried throughout this book, expecting a disaster or a sad end, thankfully, it ended realistically and beautifully!

The setting of this book is in the real world, outside of Blackwood! Brooklyn's breakdowns were so scary and heartbreaking! I lost my breath waiting for something terrible to happen!

Seven "Jude" is the newest addition and fuck me how much i love him! He is so broken and unhinged, and yet the way he calms Brooke down is cute! Also, the last one i expected for him to be with is Hud!
Hudson is his usual self, except more mature and less angry! I like how he took care of the others!
Eli! Still the cutest one of them. He healed and finally able to talk again!
Phoenix, this book was very rough on him for real! He went through a lot and it was terrible to read his chapter when he was taken!
Kade is Kade! Brilliant, perfect and the best of all of them! He is the glue to that family!

It was so frustrating to read the injustices of how they were persecuted and hunted! Corruption pisses me off like nothing else!

Now, the Sabre team is amazing! Theo, Hunter and Enzo are amazing and i may read that trilogy soon!

Favourite scene is the letters that Brooklyn received from the guys, especially Eli's letter! So heartwarming and yet heartbreaking!

Favourites!
Favourite MC: (Kade)
Favourite book: (Sacrifical Sinners)
Favourite couple: (Eli and Nix were so cute!)

How to know when a book is a good book? You are sad when the book or series is finished. I loved everything about this series from the characters to the storyline to the playlist. I know that this series is going to be one that sticks with me for awhile. Dare I say it, but I think this series will probably be in my top 5 favorites for this year. I think out of all of the books in this series this one is my favorite. I feel like this book caused more reactions from me compared to Books 1 and 2. I really loved the playlist in the series. I feel like the playlist is what helped get more of a reaction out of me on chapters because on sad chapters the songs would just make the chapter even sadder. The playlist also made me feel like I was watching a movie inside my head and I love when books make me feel that way. What I loved the most about this series is being able to see Brooklyn's character growth throughout the series. We also got introduced to some new characters in this book and I loved them so much. I'm very excited that they are getting their own series because I'm not ready to say goodbye to these characters yet. Overall, this has become one of my favorite series and I think J. Rose is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can't wait to check out more of her other books that she has written. If you haven't read this one, I would definitely recommend!

You guys. YOU GUYS. Oh my gosh. This book!!!! I am so so sooo happy for Brooklyn and her men. Holy moly. It was not an easy ride. It was filled with so many obstacles and challenges, but ugh. I am so SO happy that they finally get their happily ever after.

“𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈’𝐦 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐱𝐲𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐬. 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞.”

These guys are made for each other. Seriously. They are 𝘵𝘩𝘦 definition of soul mates and I have been so honored to be apart of their journey. I know that probably sounds crazy as this book is well, fictional, but they have real life issues. Most of the things in this book 𝘩𝘢𝘴 happened. It may not have been exactly the way this story was told, but it’s similar.

So, thank you @jroseauthor. And not just for letting me escape from my reality for awhile (😉,) but talking about things that not a lot of people do talk about. Thank you for writing about how much mental illness affects people and that it’s okay to have these issues.

If you have not read this series yet, you have to. Though, I hope you have as this is the 3rd book and you’re probably so confused by now 😅😂

Wow wow wow wow. This series was so heartbreaking, traumatic, spicy and heart wrenching. I’m so sad I finished the trilogy. But I can’t wait for the final edition of the series to come out!!!

[SPOILERS AHEAD] [FULL REVIEW]

I loved brooklyn so much and the amount of growth that she went through. She was always badass since the start but it was so amazing to see her be more open towards the guys. She was so broken and in such a bad spot in the beginning so much so that she wanted to end her life. She was consumed with guilt and hallucinations of vic and then his sisters letters tormenting her. It was honestly amazing to see her kill his sister in the end of sacrificial sinners. seeing her get the help she needs and come out better was so beautiful to see. “So many people hurt you,” I admit, studying my childhood self. “Nobody kept us safe. I’ve spent so many years trying to kill myself, I forgot to live. I may not be the same person I used to be, but I promise to live for both of us now.”

Her and Kade’s first interaction was honestly so cute, he was so welcoming to her in the beginning.

Brooke and eli’s relationship was so adorable I loved them sm throughout the entire series. The way they connected was so wholesome, and I’m glad they had someone to lean on even though Eli couldn’t communicate well. “I’ll love you until my very last breath, and even that won’t stop me. Donec mors nos separavit. Touch your scars right now. I’ll do it too. Can you feel me there? I can feel you. Fuck, Brooke. Come back soon. I love you. Your Elijah. X”

I was honestly unsure on how I felt about phoenix in the beginning but he grew on me quickly. And the way he treated brooklyn in the beginning of sacrificial sinners made me upset for a bit. As well as the way he kept Eli away from Brooke. I didn’t know how to feel about Eli and phoenix’s relationship as well because it didn’t seem like eli wanted to come out yet as an official public couple, but I’m honestly so glad they have each other. I completely understood where he was coming from and I’m glad they eventually worked things out. And wow, Phoenix has gone through so much throughout the entire series I’m so proud of him. And the way he still has it in him to have a good sense of humor was so cute. I loved his commentary. He lost so much and still chose to be better for Brooke and the family. The scene with Eli, nix, and Brooke at the alter had me WEAK.

The knight brothers— oh my GOODNESS I loved them both so much. I was skeptical about Hudson at first because of his position in Blackwood as well as his history with Brooke but I honestly loved him so much. And the way Kade was such a sweetheart made me love him immediately. THE PART WITH HUD, KADE AND BROOKE AHHH IF YKYK I was kicking and giggling the whole time.

I wish we got to see more of what happened when brooklyn was patient eight during those four months, finding out about all the things she had to do and endure was honestly shattering. And seeing the trauma and the way she didn’t feel herself in desecrated saints was so heartbreaking. But I’m so glad she had Jude/seven throughout the whole thing. Seeing their relationship form as well as him being apart of their group was something else. “I’m not sure what love means.” Seven’s brows crease. “But… I think it would feel like this. I can’t breathe when I’m around you. All I want is to drink the oxygen from your lungs. Living in a world without your strength at my side is no longer an option. I can’t take another step alone.”

I was honestly surprised about the relationship with Hudson and Jude but I’m glad Hudson came to accept that part of himself and they formed a bond. “My relationship with Hudson isn’t like Phoenix and Eli’s close bond. They adore each other. Hudson loves to hate me. He fucks with the same rage that brought us together.”

I wish we got to see more of Brooke and teegans relationship I feel like they wasn’t much of them in this last book🥹 “Clearing her throat, Teegan approaches me next. I let her arms wind around me in one of her signature tight hugs. She penetrated my lonely bubble from day one with her quirks and awkward charm. I couldn’t imagine a world without her in it as my best friend.”

There was so much love and pain in this book my heart felt like it was being squeezed the entire time and I loved it so much. I can’t wait for the last installment of this series.

“This is our last stand, together. Six misfits against the whole fucking world. Regardless of what happens, what a tale it will be.”

4.5⭐️

I loveddd this trilogy! It was so good! Such a roller coaster with lots of plot twists and excitement I did however feel this one wasn’t needed and it wasn’t as good as the other two. Still love the main characters and their relationships, alottt of side characters to remember, gets abit silly at times. That ending was so cute though I loved it! Spice was great, love the tension 🥵.
