Ten years after the war, Hermione Granger is a celebrated hero, a tireless political reformer–but behind closed doors, she's drowning in a Ministry that praises her with one breath and silences her with the next. She's brilliant, respected... and dangerously close to being done playing by their rules.
Cleared of his war crimes and sharper than ever, Draco Malfoy didn't just survive the fallout–he seized it. The most feared name in Wizarding Britain's criminal underworld, he controls the flow of potions, secrets, and power. And now, he's being ordered to marry the Ministry's Golden Girl.
Thrown into a marriage neither expected and neither intends to lose, Hermione and Draco must decide whether to rule from the shadows or burn the whole damn system down... together.
He may be the King of Wizarding Britain's criminal underworld–
but she is the Queen.
And may the gods help anyone who disrespects the Queen.
I've read Dramione fics that have a marriage law or forced marriage trope before. However, I haven't read one where they were literally WAITING for the opportunity to get together. Both Hermione and Draco were so badass in this fic, and I loved it. Also Petra?!? I loved her sm, and also Crookshanks partnering up with Petra was so cute and funny to read about.
There were many unexpected characterizations of characters in this book. For instance, Lucius being supportive is something I've never read before in a fic. Also, Harry and Pansy being together? Never saw that coming, but it worked out so well in this fic.
This book would've gotten 4 stars, but I reduced it to 3 because, although it was enjoyable to read, there really wasn't a plot. It was kind of repetitive before Draco and Hermione decided to have kids, during, and after. It was a comfort read in a way. Still enjoyed it though.
Chapters 3 & 4 are so beautiful and heartbreaking all at once. Just absolutely sobbing through the tragedy of 8th year ❤️🩹 I’m so glad they found their way back to each other.
The ONLY reason this isn’t a 5 star read for me because I am reeeeeally not a fan of the terms “daddy” or “baby girl” as pet names. It felt very cringe at times and not in alignment with their characters if that makes sense. Still would recommend!

Okay this was some fun fluff! I loved the splash of eighth year in the beginning. Harry was also a great side character in this one! It was a bit more predictable but pretty much what I wanted to read ATM. I haven’t read a Draco mob boss yet, so that was a fun change. If you’re looking for a fluffy, easy to read, spicy Dramione, this will do the trick!
