Getting trapped in a storm with a grumpy recluse wasn’t part of my healing plan. Jonah Ramy, all silence and a body built for sin, rescues me, then makes things crystal clear. His cottage, his rules. He thinks I’m here for a story. I swear I had no idea he was the actor, the world won’t forget. But his dark eyes track my mouth like he’s memorizing it. His voice drops low when he warns me to keep my distance. Every argument ends with his breath on my skin. We pretend we don’t want this. Then he kisses me, slow, claiming, inevitable, and I taste exactly what he’s been holding back. The power dies. The bathtub becomes our confessional. And I start to think maybe I could stay. Until his ex-publicist resurfaces with a threat that could destroy him. Jonah tries to shut me out to protect me. But the real storm isn’t outside anymore. And if he won’t let me in, I’ll have to walk away right when I’m ready to fight for us.
Writing romance so steamy her cat refuses to make eye contact.
Dia Beckett is an Amazon bestselling and #1 new release author who writes witty, messy, toe-curling romance about grumpy men, mouthy women, and terrible ideas that somehow end in happily ever after. Her books are packed with off-limits tension, emotional chaos, snappy banter, and the kind of heat that makes “one more chapter” a dangerous lie. When she’s not ruining fictional people’s lives for entertainment, Dia is being openly judged by London, her tuxedo cat and the true head of household. Dia, pronounced Dee-ya, is from England and is currently plotting your next obsession.
What a beautifully tender story about healing, self-discovery, and the courage it takes to trust again. I completely fell for Jonah and Regina, two people shaped by their pasts, learning how to let someone in despite every reason to keep their walls up. Watching them slowly soften and lean on each other felt intimate and deeply earned.
Jonah’s journey especially pulled at my heart. Living in the spotlight, constantly being taken from, used, and never quite knowing who sees him versus who sees his fame—it’s no wonder trust feels impossible. And then, in such an unexpected, almost cinematic moment, he finds Reggi stranded on the side of the road… and everything begins to shift. There’s something so poetic about that kind of meeting—two lost souls colliding at exactly the right time.
Their love story is a slow burn in the best way: quiet, intentional, and rooted in something real. The tension simmers beneath every interaction, building into a connection that feels both grounding and electric. The spice is perfectly balanced, layered on top of that delicious yearning that keeps you turning pages late into the night.
And the humor? Absolutely top-tier. The banter and lightness woven throughout the story create the perfect contrast to the heavier emotional beats, making the whole experience feel rich and dynamic.
There’s something timeless about two people finding safety in each other, choosing to trust, choosing to stay—and Dia captures that magic flawlessly. This is the kind of love story that lingers long after the final page. 💛
Jonah and Reggi are a slow burn to the tenth degree. .like truly, take your time, savor every moment kind of slow. This is a later in life romance with two established professionals, and I really loved the depth that brought to their relationship. Add in the bi-racial dynamic, and it gave the story even more layers and nuance.
The writing is incredibly descriptive and almost intentionally slow. It pulls you in gently, wrapping you up in every emotion, every glance, every shift between them. The best way I can describe this book? It’s like drinking a cup of warm coffee… but decaf.
It warms you from the inside out. It’s comforting, steady, and satisfying but it never quite hits that explosive, heart racing peak. And somehow, that works for this story. Watching Jonah’s gruff, guarded nature soften and seeing Reggi’s strength shine through her broken pieces was such a rewarding journey. Their connection builds quietly but meaningfully, and by the end, you feel it. If you’re in the mood for something deeply written, character driven, and more about the slow unfolding than big dramatic moments this one is absolutely worth the read.
Both Jonah and Regina wanted an escape from their careers lives that was ducking their souls out of them Jonah retreated to a small Welsh village near Corwall. Reggie was on her way to another place thirty miles away when mother nature unleashed her wrath and caused Reggie to ditch her car. Jonah found her just in time. With Jonah suspicion mind, he could not believe Regina did not know who he was. Their banter of suspicion tickled me. Being hold up in a small cabin to wait out the storm. The people in the small village were very protective of those who lived there. So when someone comes nosing around looking for Jonah the village came into action. With being in close proximity to each other with none of the modern day trapping, the hold up couple found themselves falling for each other . Regain found herself helping the man she loved solving who and why someone was attacking his career.
With Reggie by his side, we de Jonah has sought the help he needed so he can get on with his life and career.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy "THE ATTRACTION PROBLEM" I thoroughly enjoyed this intriguing, interesting, delightful heartwarming journey these characters take you dealing with a grumpy recluse, emotional turmoil, threats, steam you won't be able to stop turning the pages. Jonah Remy an actor was some down time away from the pubic heads to England his home town where his Uncle tells him about a small town to hide from the paparazzi. Regina has a problem finding where she's going because of wrong directions from her GPS ending up in a ditch during a horrible storm. Jonah comes across Regina in the ditch stopping to help he offers she stay with him until the storm stops, both have issues their dealing with opening up to one another brings them closer. Will Jonah & Regina get a HEA with his ex-publicist trying to cause problems & him trying to protect her you must read to see what happens its a great well written story.
4.5 stars I rarely read later-in-life romances and honestly, I don’t think I ever have, because I always imagined the characters would feel much older, with the usual clichés of aches and wrinkles. The Attraction Problem completely changed that perception for me. If their ages hadn’t been mentioned, I would have easily pictured them in their twenties or thirties because the chemistry and tension felt so vibrant and alive. I especially loved the stormy Cornish countryside setting (I’ve watched documentaries about it), the cozy small-town atmosphere with all its dynamics, and that strong “we protect our own” vibe. The forced proximity with the grumpy, guarded Jonah, who only wanted to relax and feel free for a change, created great tension, and I really enjoyed how she slowly helped him open up, face his past, and deal with his PR issues. A captivating and surprisingly addictive read.
I really enjoyed it. I occasionally read later in life/midlife, but for many authors, this is late 30’s/early 40’s. But in this, a reverse age gap. She’s in her 50’s, and he’s late 40’s…. Both are very likable…. What I liked is that while there were references that aged them (hair colour, etc.), there was nothing that screamed ‘old’.
Forced proximity, roadside rescue, country cottage setting. Grumpy hero, and heartbroken heroine (not your standard heartbreak, though)! The tension was electric; it just built and built, and you could feel the chemistry.
The PR drama was confronting - a lot coming from all fronts, but it was resolved well. Would have liked to see some true comeuppance, though. But overall, a sweet(ish) story where two characters finally find love, family and a wonderful home with a great group of people.
A misdirection snap Fu, a rainstorm and landing in a ditch brings two people together. When Regina finds herself in a ditch during a rainstorm, Jonah comes to her rescue and brings her to his cottage to wait out the storm and their journey begins. He doesn't trust easily and Regina is dealing with her own issues. close proximity has them opening up and right when things get settled his ex-publicist brings a possible threat. Will he and Regina find their way to happiness in the end. This heartwarming story is well written with compelling characters that drew me into this story. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
This is a great laugh out loud book! Jonah is a very private person who is an actor. He has just completed a biblical production and he needs a break. He goes home to England and his uncle sends him to a small town where the people will protect him from the paparazzi. Regina is an investigative reporter who has gone to find the place where her family is from. Her GPS sends her to a different location and she ends up in a ditch Ina rain storm. Jonah finds Regina in the ditch and has her stay with him until the weather changes. Jonah has trust issues with people. This is a great book!
What a refreshingly sexy and sensual story. Jonah and Reggi come together by accident and due to circumstances beyond their control they end up sharing a tiny cottage in the south of England. The cottage, weather, villagers, sea and cliffs all play a significant role in their connection. It was nice to read a mature couple navigate their feelings and getting out of their own way to allow the other in. I loved this story. It’s by far my favorite book by this author. 10/10.
Tea and biscuits brilliance. An incredible tale with great MC’s throughout, a storyline that simply keeps getting better and better as you traverse the pages, in ways I wasn’t expecting. A brilliant author. I honestly couldn’t put this book down. Highly recommend. I received a free advance reviewer copy and am leaving my review voluntarily. The English countryside and inclement weather have never seemed so appealing. Who knew!
Meet Jonah and Regina. It began with a roadside rescue. These two have chemistry and connection. She’s a bit older, he’s the younger one. Love how they were real and relatable. The small town vibe and how she helps him see himself is fantastic. Love how the story flows. The characters are very relatable. Spice is 🌶️🌶️ and stars are 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Jonah is in England keeping a low profile when he meets Regina who has come to Cornwall to reset her life. When a scandal begins to trickle in, their budding romance and peace become complicated. It was a great story of healing, trust and supporting one another. It was an enjoyable story to read.
I wanted to like this but found it very slow and I felt like I to was wading through the Cornwall mud Neither character captured me the plot put me to sleep I tried I really did and this was one of the few books I have ever dnf
