Spring in Lilac Glen

Rate this book
Julianne Baker seemingly has it all. Working for a nationally published nature and gardening magazine in Manhattan and leading a glamorous life in the Big Apple...or is she? Julianne returns to her hometown of Lilac Glen, Georgia to dig into an article on family-based nurseries and floral businesses; something she already knows plenty about after growing up surrounded by her family's floral shop and greenhouses.

Going back home down south isn't something Julianne gets to do often. While there, she meets Tucker Case; a handsome investor and real estate manager who is trying to fit in as a farm owner in the town he now calls home after inheriting the picturesque land from his uncle, making him the Bakers' neighbor. As days get longer, and spring starts to reawaken, will flowers be all that bloom?

Join Julianne as she opens her heart to new adventures while learning to take life a little slower down back roads; bending with the curves instead of against them.

3.5 Spring in Lilac Glen Stars - ❤ Audible Review HERE

Short stories sometimes can be hard to connect with the characters because you have such a short amount of time to get to know them and get the story moving along.
But I feel like I know Julianne pretty well, coming home isn’t always easy and you can tell it’s a place she loves but she also really loves her career.

Tucker I think we only skimmed the surface of, we did get a lot of Julianne and maybe a little too little of Tucker. Though I will say I really enjoyed the parts we did get of him. He really is trying to make the best out of the situation he finds himself in.

The meet and friendship was sweet and seemed natural not forced or really any insta-love. (Thank you for that)
Also no dramalama!!! You know me and how much I hate that, this was just a sweet story of finding love and how to make it work.

“Footsteps apart tonight, almost a thousand miles tomorrow.” – Loved this quote (it was a little bigger but this part of it struck a chord with me)

If there was one thing I kind of wanted more of was the connection between Tucker and Julianne, I wanted a full-on romance date. A little tension, longing. But that is just me, romantic to a fault.

I liked the narration, I wasn’t sure at the beginning she kind of gives you a lot of the story in a short amount of time and I had to go back and listen again. But once I got the hang of how she delivers the story I quite enjoyed it.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Before discovering Lilac Glen, I was not aware of Angie Ellington. That however is about to change. Spring in Lilac Glen is a refreshing look at days gone by and life yet lived. Julianne and Tucker have lessons to learn, hopes to fulfill and a happily ever after to discover. This story of faith and promise is delivered with sweet words of wisdom. The little nuggets that we know to be true, but neglect to acknowledge. The best words of wisdom are there if you read between the lines. My take way: In order to appreciate the little things, let go of the big things. Important words in a lighthearted package.

Attention Hallmark Channel, this is an author you should be watching! "Spring in Lilac Glen" is witty, detailed beautifully and so sweet. I really enjoyed watching the relationship between Julianne and Tucker develop. It was at just the right speed and very sweet. However, I fell in love with the relationship that Julianne enjoys, and cherishes, with her family and her hometown, her roots. I also love that it all played a part in the decisions that she makes about her future. This author places just as much importance on those connections as she does on the romace. I this that's lovely and refreshing! A great read!

Spring in Lilac Glen: (A small town sweet romance) by Angie Ellington is a cheerful and joyous shorter novel that will delight her readers. Julianne (Jules) Baker is a successful photographer living in New York. But her dreams and paychecks are not as fulfilling as she had expected when she moved there four years previously. Sent home to Lilac Glen, Georgia, to interview small-business owners who cater to flower shops and nurseries, Jules sees this more than a well-deserved vacation. Her home town has changed little, except the handsome neighbor who is just learning the skill of farming. Tucker Case inherited his uncle’s farm and tries to adjust to the charms of a small town. The spring rain can’t douse the spark between them, but will Jules forget this farm boy when she heads back to the Big Apple?

Angie Ellington’s fans will enjoy Spring in Lilac Glen as an addition to her other sassy romance novels. The plot of a big city girl disillusioned by the cut-throat attitudes within her work place finds peace in her small hometown is given a twist when Jules is forced to make changes. The author shows through her characters how priorities change as we mature and take different paths in our life. Changes in Jules’ life add just the right amount of twists. You sense the emotions between Jules and Tucker as they each step out of their comfort zone and adjust to a different place in their life. I would recommend this slow-paced novel to readers who savor a sweet romance, with characters who strive to excel in life.

Angie Ellington knows just how to get you there and I went there! From being a daughter of a small greenhouse business to the morning runs and enjoying nature!! I enjoyed every bit of this story! I could smell the spring air and feel the fresh tilled dirt in the gardens! … running from the thunderstorm to dancing to Billy Currington…I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves short stories, family, traditions, nature and new love!

Chic Lit in the south!

I love reading books set near home. Angie Ellington did a marvelous job describing the beauty and grace of this part of the country. I just moved to Cartersville from the suburbs of Atlanta and was delighted to see Cartersville mentioned. Thank you for a wonderful story!

Wow. I loved this. One of the best I’ve ever read. A happy story that made me want to keep reading until I finished. I even paused The Bachelor to finish it. The story got my attention from the moment it started. I instantly liked the main character, Julianne, “Jules” and wanted to see where this story took her. I felt like I was in a Hallmark movie, which are my favorites. It gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling the whole way through and I could see everything happening in my head. I would love to see this as a Hallmark movie! It’s perfect. These characters are so likable and the description is perfect to get you in the mood for spring. I didn’t want to leave Lilac Glen or the characters. It would be great to visit with them again in another book! I’m so thankful I was able to read an advance copy. It is not to be missed. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was given an Advanced Readers Copy of this in return for an honest review. I must say, I had never read a book by Angie Ellington, but I will be reading more of her books now. Spring in Lilac Glen was an amazing read. Once I started it, I could not put it down. The characters were well written and developed. You felt for them and you were wishing for everything to work out. I don't really want to give anything away. But suffice it to say that while you might believe you want the glamour and living in a big city, once you return home even if it is for to write an article for your work, you often realize that small towns and home is really a wonderful place. If you are looking for a welcome home and meet your guy, then this is the book for you. I highly recommend this one. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I love the audiobook cover! This was my first Angie Ellington's book. I like this sweet short love story. I love the two main characters, Julianne and Tucker. Julianne is a talented photo-journalist for a nature magazine in New York City. Tucker is an investor and real estate manager who learn to be a farmer after he had inherited properties and the farm from his uncle. They meet together when Julianne return to her hometown, at Lilac Glen. I like how they learn to know each other, how the love between them seems already there and grown rapidly. This story is well written and fast pace. I was hooked from the beginning till the end. Unfortunately, the narration was too fast for me, so I wasn't able to listen without reading at the same time, but the narrator has a great voice. I've read/listen this story.

Can I first start by saying, how gorgeous is this cover? It was the first thing that caught my eye and I couldn't wait to dive in.

Julianne seems to have it all - her dream job (sort of) and a life in NYC, what more could a girl ask for?

Then the magazine sends Julianne home for a story that involves her families nursery. What perfect timing for a week vaca away from the office, and with maybe a little work involved.

Then Julianne meets Tucker, as the week (and she falls deeper) goes on she wishes she hadn't because she has to return to NYC.

Big news then arises with her job at the magazine and she may have to move to CANADA. Will Julianne pack her bags and head north or will all road lead back to Lilac Glen, GA?

I received this book free from the author for an honest review. It was exactly as she described it just like a hallmark movie. Julianne and Tucker were really great together and of course I loved Winnie the collie. Julianne lives in NYC and is a photographer/journalist for Serenity magazine which is a nature magazine. She loves her job and is put on assignment to write an article about family owned nursery businesses in her hometown in Georgia and surrounding areas. She goes back home and learns about herself and meets Tucker a new farmer who has recently moved to Lilac Glen. She learns to take it easy and realizes to take life not so seriously and takes a leap of faith. It was a sweet homey book that you could fall in love with.

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review and I honestly enjoyed it very much! I read it cover to cover in just a couple of hours. It was a delightful, quick, romantic read packed full of southern charm. The writing is very detailed and descriptive, painting picture perfect scenes as you read along. I almost feel like I actually had a mini vacation in the quaint town of Lilac Glen. Also, the cast of characters are very likeable and entertaining and you just can't help but to root for a happy ending for them all. If you're a romcom fanatic and need to unwind and escape for a couple of hours, then look no further.

Spring in Lilac Glen was given to me in exchange for an honest review. Just as with her 2 previous books in this series, Angie Ellington, created another pleasant and entertaining read. I finished this quick read over the weekend and was not disappointed. This book is a great way to take a break, slow down, unwind and relax. Just as the characters show, taking time for oneself and being truly happy should be what we all strive to achieve. This is a fun and positive read with likable characters and some romance. I certainly recommend this book!

This book is super cute and light. I finished it while flying and it is a perfect airplane read.

The cover is beautiful - it grabbed my attention right away.

The story tells of Julianne, a photographer in NYC who is sent home to Lilac Glen on an assignment. During her trip back, she meets up with her family and old friends while meeting a handsome new friend. When drama ramps up at work in the Big Apple, will Lilac Glen be the answer to Julianne’s stressors?

I’d recommend this fun little romantic read to anyone looking for a little escape into an easy read.

I received this advanced copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

What a sweet little story! It's not a full length novel, in case you didn't realize, I wanted to warn you. But it's full of charm.

I really enjoyed her trip home, reconnecting with family and friends, and meeting the new guy in town.

I was antsy when some trouble came up at work, and crossing my fingers for the perfect ending!!

Dear Hallmark Channel - please take us to Lilac Glen so we can sigh happily about Julianne and Tucker.
I really liked this sweet, quick novella. It got me centered after 3 domestic, psychological thrillers. Angie Ellington did that for me (thank you!) and I found myself smiling and comfy. I look forward to a lot more from this author from Lilac Glen and beyond. ♡♡♡♡ 4 sweet hearts!

Small town love

Great book! Angie makes her characters very relatable in each book. After visiting New York, it’s not all the high class you television makes it out to be. My heart warmed with her heading home to her small town. This book really showed the meaning of home is where the heart is.

Julianne is a photo journalist for a national magazine and is on assignment, of sorts, to her hometown of Lilac Glen. She runs into a stranger on her first day back, only to later learn that he, Tucker, is the owner of an old farm and has traded in his job as an investment & real estate manager. While Julianne is in Lilac Glen, major changes are occurring at work that puts her at a crossroad as to what's next in her life. Will she choose her new relationship with Tucker and move back home or will she go where her job demands? Quick, sweet story.

Had to sneak this one in before it officially turns Fall. Such a cute read. Definitely prepares you for those Fall/Winter Hallmark movies. Julianne Baker comes home to Lilac Glen, Georgia on a work assignment. She's a photojournalist in the Big Apple. Of course, while in town she falls for Mr. Tucker Case. A major event happens at her work, and Jules rethinks what's more important in life and what will truly make her happy. My fave part is in the epilogue. Definitely would recommend this small-town romance.

Julianne Baker is a nature photographer working at a magazine in NYC. Although she loves her job, her life certainly isn't as glamorous as she thought it would be. She travels to her small hometown, Lilac Glen, GA, to work on an article on small business nurseries, which her parents happen to own, and meets the new guy in town, Tucker Case. This was a sweet story, but got bogged down with detailed descriptions about fashion and not much plot or character development.

Pleasant Read

This was a pleasant book but a little too full of predictable plot twists and slightly boring dialogue for me. Never fell completely in love with the heroine since she seemed more than a little vapid - lots of name brands dropped for no apparent reason. And she didn’t seem to fall madly in love With the male lead so I didn’t either.
