Clarity Hard Won

I want to start off saying that while I really enjoyed the book, I itched to just punch Quin in the throat! She ticked me off so badly, thinking only of herself when Vennox was always there for her. Cultural differences are so important to understand before you play with someone’s emotions and in my opinion that’s what she did. I’m glad she finally figured out what she stood to lose.

First of all, I want to say that I am obsessed with *Warriors of Valose*—it’s one of the few sagas in the genre that hooks us with something beyond just the romance. That said, I feel this book didn't quite live up to the series; in fact, its narrative structure feels very similar to the previous book. For instance: the first half involves characters fighting for survival, while the second takes place in Valose (featuring the same settings as before, with no new discoveries), the heroine faces a romantic conflict, and the rescued women get to know their new home—in other words, nothing new. Even the romantic moments between Vennox and Quin mirror the dynamic of the previous couple; it felt like I was reading Book 15 all over again. Another point—which I think the author might have overlooked—is that in Book 15, Nullar already had a mate named Leah (one of the rescued women), yet this book introduces a new love interest, Lila, as if Leah had never existed. It was quite confusing. Regarding the protagonists, I found Vennox to be a rather passive hero, weighed down by trauma, so he doesn't come across as bold as the previous ones. As for Quinn, she is more decisive about the relationship, but the romantic conflict causes the couple's dynamic to stagnate—we only get a somewhat lukewarm declaration of love in the epilogue. Ultimately, I enjoyed parts of the book, but I didn't find anything new compared to previous volumes, which always offered something different. Still, I do recommend reading it.

Part of a series but the author writes in way that you can read as a standalone. This series is great and she continues to write amazing characters. Quin, a human female, and Vennox, a male Valosian, are the two main characters of the story. Quin is smart and has helped save the lives of several of her crew. She meets Vennox in what is one of the worst ways. Both have crashed landed on a planet that can kill in seconds. They along with the two crews must fight the animals and plants of this dangerous world to survive and get off of it. Plenty of danger around every corner. The romance builds and even though danger surrounds them it has its sweet moments.

Iona Strom's Silver Sayer is outstanding. I love these stories filled with a unique universe containing many beings. The romance and adventure are vivid and compelling. Quin and Vennox meet on an anomaly planet, having crashed in two separate events, surviving plant and animal life determined to kill them. As soon as he meets her, his second heart begins beating, signaling she is his fated mate. She's determined to return home to Earth, though, so he fights the bond until she finally realizes that he is her home.

This is the 16th book in the series… some (no stars) this one could have been a solid 4stars.. but the editing (?) drove me crazy… so, that said I’m going to read the last book.. because I want to know what happens..

Silver Slayer Called Book16

Book 16 was amazing, but each book in this series was amazing as well. I know book 17 will be coming soon, can't wait. Thanks so much.
