I know it's not Advent yet, but I've been reading through this to see if it would be a good devotional choice for our church. I think it definitely would. One of the distinctives of this book is that Andrew Davis wants to help us be like Mary, who pondered in her heart. So, he includes a Scripture memorisation project for Advent as well as providing a daily application to reflect on, which cover a range of different aspects of life. The devotions are sometimes a bit random - each day has two Bible verses, one from Luke's nativity account and one from elsewhere in the Bible, sometimes related, sometimes not, and the devotional thought could be related to either or both. But the content is good, and the ponderous additions make this an excellent choice.
